Customers are saying
Customers enjoy the immersive VR experience and the comfortable design of the Rift Headset, frequently praising its lightweight feel and intuitive touch controllers. However, some users point to the lower resolution and resulting screen door effect as drawbacks, while others mention occasional motion sickness and compatibility issues with certain games or hardware. The available content library is also a point of contention for some customers. Despite these shortcomings, many appreciate the headset's overall performance and value for the price.

Great VR experience at a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Best Buy bundle included Touch controllers and 7 or 8 games for $399. Using a Aero 15 laptop, I have had no issues with getting the Rift with Touch controllers going. I have experienced VR at SD Comic Con and so the performance is as expected, awesome. I've tried Dead and Buried, which is pretty fun especially with friends. Also started up Star Trek Bridge Crew late last night, can't wait to get back to that later! The one thing I am still getting used to is positioning the headset firmly on my face. Sometimes it is perfect and everything looks great, other times i think I am wearing it too loose and find myself adjusting it often. At this price, it is a great opportunity to jump on the VR train now to enjoy what the tech currently has to offer.

The absolute most fun and immersive experience.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far one of the most fun and immersive experiences that I have encountered with a product. Granted you cannot walk around in VR like you can with the Vive, but this price point is better in my opinion.

Luv it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent Product. We luv the Oculus Rift. I would recommend getting the touch expansion ASAP because the extra camera and the touch controllers themselves are amazing.

So much fun, it's unreal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a gaming pc just because I want to experience virtual reality. Games like Eve:Valkyrie put you direct in the pilot's seat. It can put you anywhere and get a new perspective on different experiences. The latency is great. Combined with my PC I feel no lag as I turn my head about. Even shaking my head to try and trick it feels just right (don't go crazy and hurt yourself or the device) Very comfortable around my cranium. The built in speakers have excellent sound. I feel like I need to readjust those a lot, but that's just me. I don't have motion controls at the moment. That will solidify the experience I'm sure. Also, works on Vive steam games too. Again, I only dabbled in that as I don't have controllers for it. Google that part first.

Cheaply made and delicate to handle - but VR rocks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headset is cheap. Probably $20 to produce the headset at the factory. The lenses are the same acrylic ones from the cheap phone headsets you can buy at TJMaxx or Marshalls for $12. The lenses scratch so easily and are not fixable. The nose piece lets light in and the face pad foam wears out over time. Truth be told, I haven't touched my Rift in three months. It's literally been collecting dust since I bought it in December. If I were you, I'd save my money and wait for the tech or hardware to improve in a few years. You are NOT getting what you pay for.

Do it! Do it now!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sensation of using Rift with the Touch controllers is awesome! There aren't a lot of A list titles yet but the Robo Recall game is fantastic. I've been bringing coworkers over to try it out and they are floored.

VR is Great, unless you get motion sickness
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used the VR and really enjoyed it. My favorite game is Robo Recall. Unfortunately I started to get motion sickness on some of the other games and apps that are less developed. It actually took a couple of days for me to get over the dizzy feeling.

A Better VR Experience, But Not Perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is definitely a better VR experience than PSVR, but definitely requires a more elaborate setup. Performance has been great for me, but I have (an older, but still fast) Intel i7 3930K overclocked and paired with a Geforce Titan X (Pascal), so I can't really speak for performance on lower end machines. The resolution, while higher than the PSVR, is still pretty noticeably low, but the "screen door effect" is the biggest distraction. It can be a little difficult getting everything adjusted just right, for comfort and clarity, but once you do, it's comfortable enough to wear for a long period of time (granted you aren't easily susceptible to motion sickness). If you have the means to afford VR, and won't "miss" the money, I can recommend it, but only just. There are definitely some experiences to be had, but the support still isn't really there.

Great! VR Experience. Totally LOVE it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first experience was when I went to a nearby Best Buy (W Hartford) to try it out and that was it. I knew I wanted it and I knew I can not go back home with out buying it. My instincts were right. Totally LOVE! it.

It's not the holodeck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want to start and say you need to understand that and the end of the day, it's still gen 1. But wow is it great. Robo Recall and Echo Arena really show what this is capable of, and the fun and emotion that VR can bring. It is still a toy, and not quite ready. While I am using a Pre-built gaming laptop (GTX 1060) (Razer Blade 2017) and it works well, you have to accept to get the maximum from this, you have to be willing to fiddle and get in to it. It also helps to have 8' x 7' space next to your computer to use it. But if that doesn't scare you and spending $300 on a Keyboard and Mouse is reasonable, then go for it, you won't be disappointed, less that you probably won't get the high score in Robo Recall (30,000,000)

Floopin' Fantastic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loving this thing. It's an absolute blast. I had the DK2 and was waiting before proceeding to buy a retail release VR headset, but when the Oculus Rift + Touch controllers sold for $400, it was a no-brainer.

Fantastic VR device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried the Oculus out along with Touch controls in the store thought a little and purchased it. I have enjoyed EVERY SECOND I USED THE DEVICE. It takes playing games litterally to FAR. BEYOND THE NEXT LEVEL.

Whole new world
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is pricy, but amazing! I bought it for my kids, but I think I've spent more time on it myself! You'll feel completely immersed in the virtual world! Takes a little time to set up, but worth it.

Fun and Solid
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I preferred the Oculus for not needing extra sensors, ended up buying the Touch and third sensor anyway. No loss of tracking, seems steady, and looks great.

Better and Worse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In short, VR is both better and worse than you think it'll be. You've seen the trailers and previews online, but those are somewhat deceptive. Those are being shown on regular monitors at a high resolution. The Rift has much more of a screen door effect. Don't get me wrong, the whole setup is awesome. But this is definitely an early product. The screen door effect is fully present here, so that the image you're seeing in the headset isn't nearly as clear as the images shown on a regular monitor. The "games" are sometimes a stretch to be called games. Many of them are really just experiences. They're neat to be sure, but none of them scratch that "full game" itch for me. So, assuming you have the PC horsepower, the sale price isn't bad at all. Just know that better and worse than you're imagining it to be.

Really good, hard to read text in-game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really great product. I don't have experience with the competing products, but all of the tracking mechanisms are spectacular. I have two sensor bars and I couldn't imagine it could get much more accurate than what I have now.

Awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I mean I am surprised at the realism and the VR experience. Having a virtual world to communicate, game, and even operate your computer (on a 200 inch screen....lol) Nothing but fun. This is the future

Very cool
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Headset works excellent. Several free games from Oculus when opening an account. Very immersive. Touch controllers are fantastic. 4 of 5 due to the lenses fogging on occasion and the nauseating effect of a large percentage of games.
