I bought the Rift over a month ago after trying it out at my local Best Buy store and it has not disappointed. I have triple screens on my PC and although the Rift's resolution is lower, I find myself wanting to use it more and more, particularly for my PC sim racing games. Pros: -Incredible immersion; you no longer just see what is happening, you are part of the gaming world -Easy set up if you have the right equipment (see the comments below in the Cons) -Good build quality, feels like it will last for many years -Removable headphones are included and sound quality is quite good; you can stick with them or remove them and use your own headphones -Cables are nice and long -Price is fair when you consider what you get; the Rift has replaced my more expensive triple monitors for sim racing games such as iRacing, Project CARS and Assetto Corsa -Oculus Store has several excellent exclusive titles, including Lucky's Tale, Chronos, Edge of Nowhere and Eve Valkyrie; there are plenty of titles available from many different outlets, including the Oculus store (which itself has plenty of good titles available), plus Steam and other online based titles such as iRacing and DCS; you will have no trouble finding something you are interested in -Easily works with non-Oculus store titles, such as iRacing and games I bought from Steam -Graphics are amazing, sometimes I find myself just looking around in amazement at what I am seeing -Works great when seated in my cockpit; I am not interested in motion games; my prediction is that the motion thing is a fad and that Oculus and HTC will eventually focus primarily on games you can play seated or standing in a stationary position Cons: -You do need a beefy PC to run the headset well; I had the minimum card, an Nvidia 970, but I upgraded to a 1070, which runs the headset quite nicely -Minimum specs are questionable on the CPU side - I use a 5 year old Intel Core i5 2500k and I get excellent performance, yet its supposedly below the "Minimum Recommended Specifications" -Because my Core i5 2500k is below recommended specifications, I get an annoying message both in the Oculus home screen on my monitor and in my headset; very annoying -My motherboard is 5 years old but it has USB 3.0 ports; the Oculus, however, would not work with them I guess because they are older and so I had to buy a special card with compatible USB 3.0 ports; Best Buy does not sell the card, I had to buy it from amazon -You will notice pixels, as the resolution is lower than what we typically see on monitors; some games, for example Eve Valkyrie, handle this quite nicely, I can barely notice pixels; other games like iRacing need better optimization -Some people report dizziness and/or nausea when using the Rift; I personally only had trouble with The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, which is terrible with VR, all other games have been fine -Cost of entry is significant, when you consider the cost of the headset and the computer you need Despite the cons, I cannot recommend the Rift enough. It is simply a new world, I am very excited to see how they improve upon the experience. Just make sure you have a beefy, newer computer and you will be fine. Also, make sure you try it out at a local Best Buy first.

A experience like no other a ton of fun and almost unexplainable a must try for non gamers and gamers alike

The rift is an awesome piece of tech to have. If your pc can run it, and you have the money to spare, I would recommend getting it. Slowly but surely, AAA game publishers are starting to make some great games.

Words don't do it justice. The build quality is excellent and the experience is amazing. It is hard to explain in words, but every time I have someone experience it they are blown away.

This product is awesome. However, without the Oculus Touch which should come with the product at this price tag, it's half-arsed. However, this product paired with the Oculus Touch is nothing short of an amazing experience.

Wasn't 100% on board at first but I ended up getting the Oculus Touch a couple days later and changed everything. I definitely recommend the Oculus Rift as long as you also get the touch.

Waiting to decide to buy this or the HTC Vive, then the Oculus had a big price drop. Still well worth the money. Easy to set-up and more software seems to be coming all the time.

The new oculus rift is great, beyond spectations but very ,very complicated to make it run, seting up this thing could take you days, if you don't know anything about computers don't even try, call somebody else to do it.

The headset is extremely well-made. However the company, Oculus, has made some poor choices regarding where they are going next. It is already obvious that the Vive ecosystem is far superior.

Worked well with a high end computer and displayed little to no lag, the largest complaint would be the connectivity, since the headset would sometimes not display, but there are fixes for this in the Oculus FAQ.

This was a amazing buy at 400 dollars, have loved it everyday, Easy to setup fun to play and well worth the cost. Games are not there just yet but they are improving over time.

I was always wanted to get a VR and oculus rift is by far industry best product available currently

I don't think I would want to go back to using my computer without it. It did take a little getting used too and it's not perfect, but it is good. I have a i7 6700 and a r9 390 and wouldn't recommend using any less.

Great Bang for Buck for getting into VR gaming. Easy setup and great catalog of games. I love showing it off to friends to experience VR for the first time.

I bought this for my son. We LOVE it. Truly feels like you are there. I often go on Google maps and visit towns I would never be able to see in person. Super cool item.

I have had the pc power for vr for a while but I decided to wait until price drops. After getting my oculus I can say it would have been worth it even at the original price.

It is amazing, cant describe better! I am playing cockpit games (cars and star-ship stiles) and you are really THERE... Elite Dangerous is a nice example of immersive improvement.

Tried this at Best Buy, it's absolutely amazing how far we've come with Virtual Reality. Though you need a beefy Computer Rig to run the compatible games at an acceptable frame rate.

Purchased to use for online racing. The rift is simply amazing. Games and expierances are incredible! You don't just watch the games, you enter and exsist in the game world.

I tested the htc vive and decided to choose this instead. Ibwish the headset cable was much longer then the 12 feet. You can get extension cables but I feel that for the price the cable should be much longer
