Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the immersive VR experience and the comfortable design of the Rift Headset, frequently praising its lightweight feel and intuitive touch controllers. However, some users point to the lower resolution and resulting screen door effect as drawbacks, while others mention occasional motion sickness and compatibility issues with certain games or hardware. The available content library is also a point of contention for some customers. Despite these shortcomings, many appreciate the headset's overall performance and value for the price.

I LOVE VR. I have the HTC Vive and LOVE the 360 degree usage with only two sensors. The Rift has a great headset that has a greater level of puplary distance and very comfortable. BUT, the sensors of the Rift are horrible!!!! The tracking is terrible on the Rift.

The Oculus system requires specific graphic cards and space. I wound up buying a whole new gaming PC and still can't get this to run because of the wrong graphic card. I'll update this review when my of requirements allow for me to experience the VR platform.

So i bought this. I have been waiting for 3 years to buy the oculus rift. Finally bit the bullet and it was a huge mistake. There is honestly 2 non indie games that you can play with it 1. War Thunder 2. Project Cars. Everything else is a freaking indie game and they all suck! If you want to play anything else you have to buy a hack called vorpx and download open track but there is a issue with that. Vorpx will get you banned from online games because it's detected as a hack and open track isn't even update to support CV1.This is a bad system. Don't listen to the good reviews, i guess this is for someone who likes to spend $600 and get bored within the first month but i guess I'm not one of those people.

I heard great things about this headset. However, was never able to try it because you need a very specific gaming computer. My fault for not researching but never expected a brand new computer wouldn't handle it.

Will cause dizziness. Resolution is not that high in VR (1080p). Picture quality is not on par with 1080p TV. You can see all the individual dots in the picture.

Well I bought the rift in store and was excited to hook everything up. Little to my surprise I could not install software because my graphics card was not in the recommended specs, mind you Its a gaming card r9 280. If oculus is being so restrictive with their software then I can only imagine game content will need to be channeled through them and them only to use the hardware. So I spared myself the headache and returned it. Im looking into the HTC vive since its less restrictive.

I feel like the oculus rift was a good purchase, but I feel like I'm being lured into this product only to have to buy another. I believe it would be better as a total package deal, one price.

Make sure your computer has all the necessary requirements before purchasing. I have a fairy new powerful laptop that made it impossible to use because of the graphics card.

Bought this and the the PlayStation VR Launch Bundle. I find the Sony has more products for it and don't use this that often. A real shame considering how expensive it is.

This is my short review of the Rift and Touch together because for this product to showcase "presence", you absolutely need both. Setup was uneventful and once I put on the headset, I was immersed with beautiful graphics and Bose quality sound and felt a sense of presence I have never felt with a video game. The rift is sensitive to positioning on your face. I noticed you can fine tune the position to make the graphics more clear. There IS a sweet spot on your face, so take your time positioning it. There is screen door if you look for it, but to be honest the immersion is so deep when in a game, you do not notice it. The clarity in my opinion is outstanding for a first run product. I played apollo 11 (which will blow you away) and every cockpit switch was readable with crisp legible characters. Back to apollo 11, for $9 it will blow you away and show you where vr is headed. I felt a part of that mission, I was in the cockpit, I was part of the crew! I can't express it enough how incredible the immersion is....absolutely blown away! The touch controllers are the other half that make you feel presence. When you first set up and go through the touch demo with the e-robot, you feel like you stepped into the room. You pick up bottle rockets, coke cans, everything is interactive. Climb is incredibly fun.....so last statement which I haven't said in a long time. If the rift and touch broke or was stolen at $800, I would run and I mean run to the store to purchase both again. That's how much I love it!
