The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/2.8 is a versatile, high-performance telephoto zoom lens that delivers stunning image quality with sharpness, contrast, and beautiful bokeh. Its constant f/2.8 aperture ensures excellent low-light performance, while the fast, silent autofocus is perfect for both stills and video. Built to last, this lens is weather-sealed and compact, making it ideal for outdoor shoots. Whether you're shooting portraits, wildlife, or sports, the 40-150mm f/2.8 offers outstanding value for its price. A top choice for Micro Four Thirds photographers!

This is probably the sharpest lens I've ever used. On my OM-D E-M1 Mark III, the lens manages to fully resolve the 20-megapixel sensor, all the way to the corners, even wide-open at f/2.8, for the entire zoom range. Chromatic aberration and distortion are corrected by the camera in JPEGs, but are rarely a problem even with RAWs. Bokeh is butter-smooth and very attractively rendered; the nine-blade rounded aperture diaphragm helps here, too. This is as good as it gets.
It's far smaller and lighter than the 70-200mm f/2.8 lens I used with my old DSLR, yet it proves to be every bit as good if not better. Easily worth the price, and highly recommended.

This lens produces very sharp images. The autofocus is extremely fast too. I like the fact that the lens doesn't extend when you're zooming between 40-150 mm. The quality of the lens is amazing also.

Just switched over to micro four thirds and this lens has become one of my go to options when walking about. The lens is sharp, easy to handle, and built like a tank.

This lens is perhaps the very best of the m.Zuiko series for Olympus, with incredibly good image quality at all focal lengths and apertures. Shoot it wide open and be amazed at the clarity of your image, even to the corners of the frame! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

An Ideal Way to Extend Your Olympus Zoom Range

After one takes advantage of the Olympus discount offered by the bundle purchase of an OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera body and M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40 mm f2.8 PRO zoom lens, you may eventually need to get the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150 mm f2.8 PRO lens to extend your linear zoom range. M.Zuiko Digital ED PRO interchangeable zoom lenses, such as the 40-150 mm f2.8 one reviewed here, are ideally matched to Olympus OM-D camera bodies. Although not inexpensive (as expected), the 40-150 mm f2.8 is still recommended, if you can appreciate the relative weight-saving benefit of the Micro Four Thirds mirrorless system that Olympus specializes in.

I can tell you that the Olympus 40-150 mm 2.8 lens is superb. I took it out to Tahquitz Canyon. This lens is razor sharp, no kidding. It is built like tank.

Sharp at all focal lengths, and wide open at F2.8. The lens has a high quality feel to it. Great for indoor sports and low light situations. In some instances the out of focus areas can look a little busy. This is a large lens for m43 systems, but it is small relative to an equivalent APS-C lens that covers the same range.
