Not a necessity but a gorgeous light nonetheless

I'm a huge fan of smart lighting. The Philips Hue series is probably the most diverse of all, with regular white, LED and portable lights like the hue Go. While the Go is far from a necessity for anyone's needs, it is nice to have an adds real nice ambiance. You can pretty much change the color to any in the spectrum, it can flicker like a candle, or it can rotate through colors. It's easy to connect with compatible apps on iOS and Android and is compatible with the Amazon Alexa. It's not super bright so it won't serve as lighting for an entire room, but it can serve as a reading light. I like to set mine on blue in my office as it tends to perk me up a bit and I love that I can control it with my voice. I'm not looking forward to the day the light burns out, but since it is LED, it should last for several years at a minimum.

I enjoy creating special ambient atmospheres by using colored lighting. This mobile device simplifies that goal for me. The battery life is good, the "candle" effect is especially comforting when used in a totally darkened room. It looks very modern. I take it with me when I travel for work. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a way to create a relaxing environment.

If you already bought the starter kits and have three lights going and love it then this is your next purchase within the smart light family, the go. I love it! it's cordless it charges fast it's bright colors are great just like the lightbulbs. the one thing I would advise if they ever change in the future is a put a little handle on it so you can carry it by the handle I even make it wall mountable. Other than that it's like light in your hands.

Hue Go is still one of my favorite Philips Hue products. Pretty cool that you can unplug and take it anywhere! When unplugged the battery life of mine are at a little over an hour after owning them for a couple of years.

Awesome little addition to my Hue family. Versatile little light that is really reliable. I'm currently using 1 in my gaming center to extend the light further across the wall in Sync through Windows and I couldn't be happier.

I simply love my new Hue system! My color scenes available are simply beautiful and vivid. I am gradually working on expanding my lighting system. These lights are a sure and rewarding bet on adding some ambience to your homes interior.

These lights work perfectly amazing with my hue lights strip. I bought two of them to go in my room and can set it to different colors through the hue app. You definitely need the hue bridge and as an added accessory you can also get the switch dimmer which is a very convenient accessory to go with my hue lights. I work late at night and when I get home I love the feel of having a cozy feel of my room because of the lights. Movie night is amazing too. I have these lights in my room and my walls are white so the color bounces off the wall perfectly. I like the fact that I can set the lights on when I am out since I have small dogs and work nights I wouldn't want to leave my dogs in complete darkness so it works perfect for me. I love color so these hue lights work perfectly well for my personality having three different colors going on at the same time. The app has pre-set color scenes, but you can choose your own. I definitely would recommed these lights if you're into this. Works amazing for movie nights.

The Hue Go, some of you may see no different from the bloom, and although I have not personally had the bloom, I believe the Go to be the better of two for OVERALL purposes. The Go is portable as in it does not need to be plugged in all the time. The portability can be very fun and it is just as functional. I believe the portable battery to be good for up to 2 hours depending on your brightness and color setting I believe. This also outputs 300 lumen versus the bloom's 160 lumen. The bloom also has to be set a certain angle as it has that sort of tubular permanent attachment where although the Go technically has the same thing thing... it is not as deep and dependent on that stand and it can be angled in certain ways depending on how clever you can get with a 90 degree surfaces. There are many youtube videos on these comparison and these comments are meant to complement them. You still have the same 16 million capability in the Go as well as the ability to sync music/movies with some tinkering (have to get certain apps or use the Phillips experimental lab additions) on the app. Overall, the Go is a great acessory piece for lighting that serves a different purpose from the bulbs and light strips which I both have. It is a great addition to a TV stand and can be hidden pretty easily if you need it to be as it isn't a very large or heavy item. I do not see a particular advantage that the bloom has over the Go right now other than that the bloom does seem to have a more "spotlight" effect. Still, the Go has higher lumen output which should overshadow that part of the bloom. Consider getting these in pairs as it looks better when you can contrast two different colors!

A beautifully simple addition to any Hue setup

The Hue Go relies on the standard RGB color gamut, so unlike the standard bulbs it will be able to show the colors green and cyan accurately, but consequently it will not be able to match the standard house light color temperature range as well as the bulbs. A button below the Hue Go allows it to be used without the need for an app or bridge - several color changing patterns are available (including a neat candle simulator) and you can also select a solid color. It works very well as a lamp, particularly on a nightstand so you can use it with either the button or your phone while you go to sleep or wake up. When unplugged it also makes a great centerpiece for the dinner table.

This is my 12th light in my Hue collection; I like the portability of it but the battery life is too short for the price. It is rechargeable but for the $100, you expect it to have a longer battery life. It lights up well and responds well to the Hue App.

I was initially hesitant to buy the small Phillips Hue go light because of its high price point. However, after bringing my first one home and getting it connected to my Hue Bridge and Amazon Alexa I became amazed at how ubiquitous this little portable light is. We have primarily set them up as night lights and wake up lights (you can schedule routines with the Alexa App to have the light come on with an alarm). However, being able to unplug it from the wall and carry it with you as well as being able to change it to many different colors makes it perfect for adding a splash of color to any room on the fly. It pairs to the Hue Bridge easily, but also has several presets that are conveniently loaded in out of the box. You can cycle through each option with a press of the single button on the bottom of the light and a long press to turn the light off. If you need a little light that can serve as a table lamp, a night light, accent light or all of the above, this is a great option.

    New age of lighting

These little portable lights revolutionize the way you do room decor. You can literally paint the room with light and change the ambiance dramatically. I put two of them behind my tv and keep them on red as I watch movies. Since newer, larger lcd screens are often bright and can cause eye strain after long viewing. I find red backdrop to be soothing to my eyes and it also add nice ambience to otherwise, a plain dark room. Set up is a breeze and they are even portable with built-in batteries. Great for backyard parties when you need them. Possibilities are endless! I highly recommend this item.

We bought the Hue system for our new home, although it's just for my wife's office and the outside lights by the front door (more implementation on the way). Wife thought this little lamp would be swell for her night table, and she's right – it's a nice way to choose a color and fall asleep, whether it's directly pointed us while reading in bed or pointed at the wall for more of a mood-type illumination. Can carry it to other rooms too, which works nicely when watching a movie in the family room.

This is a fun portable wireless smart lamp! Plug your Alexa in and tell her to turn your Hue Go lamp on. It’s a simple as that! Go has a variety of colors that you can select & you can also operate it manually. In addition, you can also use it with an electric cord if you don’t want to use it wirelessly. I use it on the porch in the evenings when I’m sitting in my hot tub listening to Alexa play tunes -so much fun! I can’t wait to get a Hue Bloom lamp.

I have other Hue lights but this one is the best one I have purchased so far. Very bright light and it's portable!! I have moved it all over my house! It's great because you can use it like a bloom light but it's much brighter and light goes a further distance or you can just use it in the middle of a room for great ambient light. I plan to get a few more for around my house.

I purchased this Philips Hue go for the main reason for it is a portable light which is a great addition to my other Philips Hue lights. It's mostly used for when my granddaughter stays over she wants a night light on in the room she sleeps in. She loves how the light could change colors and she is able to pick a different color every time she sleeps over.
