These lights are very beautiful have a wide range of colors as well as white they're great accent lights and they can be put anywhere they are rechargeable and can be placed somewhere without an outlet also control with Google home app as well as the Philips hue app. There is only one problem that keeps me from writing this 5 stars and that is the following: one of the benefits of this light is that it has a 2-hour standby when it's on battery power this is great and it saves power on the light however if it's in a spot that is not readily accessible this option turns into a problem.the reason it is a problem is because once it hits the 2-hour cut off the light shuts down and kills power no longer using the battery when this happens you cannot control it with the app or with Google homes app. You have to physically go turn it back on and then it's controllable again through the software. I have these lights on top of my cabinets in the kitchen so this is not a viable option for me otherwise I would have to turn the lights on by hand every 2 hours which means I got to get out my ladder and pull them off the cabinets. this is easily avoidable by leaving the power cord plugged in when the power cord is plugged in the 2-hour cut off no longer applies it will stay on as long as you want it to stay on and it is always controlling both of the apps as long as the AC power is plugged in. there is no way to turn off the 2-hour power saver even though in the instructions that implies you can however there is no way to do it that I have found and nobody has been able to tell me how to do it yet. But even with this issue elites are amazing they work very well and they are very very very pretty well worth the money and well worth the minor inconvenience of the 2-hour power saver if they're within reach otherwise just leave your AC plugged in and you'll never have a problem.

The Hue Go, some of you may see no different from the bloom, and although I have not personally had the bloom, I believe the Go to be the better of two for OVERALL purposes. The Go is portable as in it does not need to be plugged in all the time. The portability can be very fun and it is just as functional. I believe the portable battery to be good for up to 2 hours depending on your brightness and color setting I believe. This also outputs 300 lumen versus the bloom's 160 lumen. The bloom also has to be set a certain angle as it has that sort of tubular permanent attachment where although the Go technically has the same thing thing... it is not as deep and dependent on that stand and it can be angled in certain ways depending on how clever you can get with a 90 degree surfaces. There are many youtube videos on these comparison and these comments are meant to complement them. You still have the same 16 million capability in the Go as well as the ability to sync music/movies with some tinkering (have to get certain apps or use the Phillips experimental lab additions) on the app. Overall, the Go is a great acessory piece for lighting that serves a different purpose from the bulbs and light strips which I both have. It is a great addition to a TV stand and can be hidden pretty easily if you need it to be as it isn't a very large or heavy item. I do not see a particular advantage that the bloom has over the Go right now other than that the bloom does seem to have a more "spotlight" effect. Still, the Go has higher lumen output which should overshadow that part of the bloom. Consider getting these in pairs as it looks better when you can contrast two different colors!

I own an hour full of Philips Hue bulbs, in every variant. We were planning to have a party in the back yard, so though why not buy a hand full of these to light the outdoor space. Not the best idea. They produce so little light, that unless you're sat within a foot of it, it's basically useless. Also, and this is a major problem of every one of the Philips Hue bulbs, it produces less lumens - doesn't shine as brightly - at lower hues - i.e. darker colours. Now this is to be somewhat expected, a dark blue isn't going to be as bright as a light blue, however to create mood lighting, you don't want really bright colours, so you end up with a dull bulb, producing even less light. I was planning to use the candle flicker mode, not could I not really tell that it was flickering, the app doesn't give you any feedback about which mode the light is currently is and doesn't give you the ability to select the mode from the app itself, you can only select it on the device using the single on/off/mode button. One of the up sides is that it is tiny and fits in the palm of your hand, the downside is as described above, it isn't very bright and didn't last more than an evening of use before being returned. The final comment related to charging which takes 3-4 hours for a 2 hour battery life. The charging cable, comes directly out the bottom, which means it only just stands up correctly with the cable plugged in. This is a major design flaw. If you want a small light to read by, on your own, then it's ok. But this is a very overpriced toy light that underwhelms at every turn and is a real dissapointment in the Philips Hue range.

I was initially hesitant to buy the small Phillips Hue go light because of its high price point. However, after bringing my first one home and getting it connected to my Hue Bridge and Amazon Alexa I became amazed at how ubiquitous this little portable light is. We have primarily set them up as night lights and wake up lights (you can schedule routines with the Alexa App to have the light come on with an alarm). However, being able to unplug it from the wall and carry it with you as well as being able to change it to many different colors makes it perfect for adding a splash of color to any room on the fly. It pairs to the Hue Bridge easily, but also has several presets that are conveniently loaded in out of the box. You can cycle through each option with a press of the single button on the bottom of the light and a long press to turn the light off. If you need a little light that can serve as a table lamp, a night light, accent light or all of the above, this is a great option.

I love this device, especially because it integrates into the philips hue ecosystem. Its bright and works flawlessly with the Hue App. The only thing I cant understand is that this light makes it really difficult to set up at an Angle ( plugged in with the power cord connected ) because of where they decided to place the power cord. They allow you to place the light at an angle only if its going to sit on the edge of a table. But if you want to place the light at an angle in the middle of a table then your going to have to find some sort of way to rig it because they basically expect you to only have the light facing straight up if its not on the edge of a table, which is extremely dumb. I wish the power cord location did not hinder the devices use, especially at this high price. I had to figure out how to lean it against something so the light can stay angled in the middle of a desk, I shouldn’t have to rig an $80 product, it should just work.

I'm a huge fan of smart lighting. The Philips Hue series is probably the most diverse of all, with regular white, LED and portable lights like the hue Go. While the Go is far from a necessity for anyone's needs, it is nice to have an adds real nice ambiance. You can pretty much change the color to any in the spectrum, it can flicker like a candle, or it can rotate through colors. It's easy to connect with compatible apps on iOS and Android and is compatible with the Amazon Alexa. It's not super bright so it won't serve as lighting for an entire room, but it can serve as a reading light. I like to set mine on blue in my office as it tends to perk me up a bit and I love that I can control it with my voice. I'm not looking forward to the day the light burns out, but since it is LED, it should last for several years at a minimum.

I bought this for an unusual reason: I needed to simulate a campfire in a trade show booth display. So I stacked up some firewood, configured the Hue Go for the "yoga candle" mood, and put the Hue Go in the middle of the stack. And it made a decent display. We've subsequently used this light as a night light in our RV. The kids wanted a little light at night, and all of the RV's built-in lights were too bright. They enjoy the mood lighting from the Hue Go. I like the fact that it has several built-in moods and can run standalone without a full Hue system. I hope to upgrade to more Hue lights in the future, but for now, this is my only one, and it's nice that it works by itself. I also like that it has a built-in battery and can run for several hours unplugged. That seems like a nice feature, even though I haven't needed it yet. Which pretty much sums up my overall impression... it's fun to play with, but in some ways seems like a solution looking for a problem. I'm not sure quite what else to do with this light. It's fun, but kind of expensive unless you have a need for it.

These lights work perfectly amazing with my hue lights strip. I bought two of them to go in my room and can set it to different colors through the hue app. You definitely need the hue bridge and as an added accessory you can also get the switch dimmer which is a very convenient accessory to go with my hue lights. I work late at night and when I get home I love the feel of having a cozy feel of my room because of the lights. Movie night is amazing too. I have these lights in my room and my walls are white so the color bounces off the wall perfectly. I like the fact that I can set the lights on when I am out since I have small dogs and work nights I wouldn't want to leave my dogs in complete darkness so it works perfect for me. I love color so these hue lights work perfectly well for my personality having three different colors going on at the same time. The app has pre-set color scenes, but you can choose your own. I definitely would recommed these lights if you're into this. Works amazing for movie nights.

Philips Hue lighting system has been a fantastic addition to my home. I started with a few bulbs and bridge to see if I liked the idea and quickly found myself purchasing more and more Hue lights and different products to compliment them. I love the ambiance and lighting options. I also love the energy saving of being able to turn off lights when you are away from home and realized you forgot. In addition, coming home to your house lit as you would like because the bridge recognizes when you are arriving and activates your choice of lighting. No more coming home to a dark house or a dark front porch. Add to that, all the supported technology such as Amazon home powered by Alexa or iOS commanded by Siri and the lights are sure to be much more user friendly than expected. I can create the ultimate mood, from relaxing, to reading, and even syncing my lights to enhance my movie and music experiences. I can't wait to try more products. I have high expectations that Philips Hue will continue to deliver the best options for smart lighting and home ambiance.

I am a huge fan of the Philips Hue family. I have multiple Hue products and I purchased the Hue Go as a night light for the room. I felt that having this would be better than buying two night lights, and obviously would put the Hue color lights in them, but felt the price of the lamps, two color bulbs would be more and not as worth has one Hue Go. The Hue Go has been a wonderful addition to the house, as we placed it in the front of the room and can turn it on and off with our Amazon Echo Dot. My wife uses it on the bathroom when taking baths and will change the color to a mood relaxing scene instead of having the one light in the bathroom on. When I mentioned 'could improve' in the title, the light only lasts for a few hours until it needs to be recharged. Philips informs you that it will only go up to a certain percentage when not plugged in, but can go up to 100% of potential light when plugged in. Also, it's a bit pricey for what you get. Overall, it's a great product to have. You can take it anywhere you want and have light. Hopefully Philips will improve the battery life down the road.

The Hue Go is one of my favorite lights in the Hue collection. I use them as a "sphere of color". I sit one on each boring looking AirPlay speaker, plug it in, and select a color for the mood desired in that room. this is my 5th Hue Go. It sits on top of a large, ugly, boring Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). Hue Go has feet, just for this use, so you look at the flat edge of color. Timers are set for automatic on/off color change throughout the day. Another added benefit is, because it is also battery powered, should the power go off, grab one and go - you have a light for several hours without searching for a flashlight. Most will probably use this light as a rechargeable carry around mood light. We don't. They each stay in a fixed location. For us, it is the "color ambiance" that they provide that is so cool!

I bought a pair of these to put behind my TV. Integrated with my Hue Bridge super easily. Easy to control from SmartThings or the Hue software or various other Hue-enabled software. I use a plugin for Kodi to enable Ambient Lighting based on the current video output. This works remarkably well. For "behind the TV ambient light", I think you really need a pair of these. Minor cons: 1. The brightness is probably exactly right... but I kind of wish they were brighter (but I do like them). 2. I wish I could easily control the pair as a single unit color-wise. I get around this with selecting preset colors or using an app like "Hue Switcher" (I love this app, Android). 3. Hue Switcher is great but I wish there were more things on my Shield TV or Television that would control them as ambient lights for the video signal. I know there are Philips TVs that will do just this (I'm jealous).

I really like these. The software works well and the lights are responsive. The color range is full and the darker colors are rich. My only issue is with the ability to stand the light up so it is facing at an angle, as shown in the product image. It can't be placed at that angle if it is plugged in to its power cord. The cord is right at the spot where the back of the light needs to rest against the flat surface. So it just falls right back to its upward facing position. If you remove the power cord and operate it on its battery, it stands at an angle just fine but only lasts a few hours. So I bought some cylindrical bases from a hardware store and have the lights sitting at an angle on top of those since my use case is to always have them plugged in and I always want them at an. Angle, not facing straight up.

I absolutely love these lights. The app setup can be frustrating when using Philips and/or alexa. The are so many functions and variations to this light. They are quite expensive to have multiple in your home or a collection of hue lights to pair together. Pros: Set timers while out of town Set up moods or routines (wake up time to turn on light ect) Don't have to get upto turn off lights the kids leave on. Turn on/off all the lights at one time. Connect additional app to make your lights capable of blinking to music (my absolute favorite part about this light) Portable Cons: Difficult app setup: have to reconnect on occasion, doesn't always find lights, groups lights by room (so it turns on lights you might not want to turn on). Have to keep it charged.

I got this initially as a nightlight and some color ambiance for a "bad day" bath... but the nightlight isn't quite strong enough for late night bathroom trips. It is still pretty cool. I wouldn't classify this in the must have category of my project, but it is still fun none-the-less. There are a lot of things you can do with it using triggered apps or IFTTT. I found that the manufacturer's default scenes were kind of meh so I went with a third party app and set it to simulate deep ocean hues to wind down. I might end up moving this out of my master bath and using it elsewhere for notifications. I'm not sure yet. The nice thing is, it is battery operated and plugin capable... so you can theoretically move it around wherever you go. This is more of a fun product than an essential IMHO.

I needed a lamp that was more for atmosphere rather than light. This light did the trick perfectly. The lamp has the perfect amount of softness for the space I was attempting to illuminate, but as soft as it is, it provides ample lighting in most colors. The portability of it is super awesome, as it can be moved without being plugged in. But not for extended periods of time. The battery is not its strongest suit. As with most Phillips Hue lights, if you are already in the ecosystem, it is super easy to link your new lamp and start turning colors and dimming brightness in no time.

I'm already deeply attached to the Hue ecosystem, so it was easy to add in the Hue Go. It's currently being used as an adjunct light source in my daughter's closet. We've integrated it with SmartThings, so it turns on when the closet door is opened and off when closed again, both through the use of a SmartThings door sensor (sold separately). It also pairs well with a Hue remote--successive presses render different colors. The light is a bit expensive for what it is, but it's nice to be able to use it unplugged. It's worth noting that it needs to be plugged in to be a part of the rest of the Hue system. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase. It has a more specific niche than most other Hue products, but it's still a useful light.

This product is OK however once you buy this product you are locked in to the Phillips product as far as smart home technology goes and lighting that is one thing that I do not like about it I would much rather have a more versatile type of smart home that I can mix and match the technology more and more these these days manufacturers are locking down there technology so that you are forced to buy all of their products even though you may not like the basic product that they put out that goes with everything that they have the light itself is great does have various different colors I have yet to experience all the colors yet because of the fact that I did not buy the bridge so if you do go with this light make sure you buy the starter kit that comes with the bridge

The 3 hrs battery could better, but it could be worse. Of the 7 pre-made dynamic scenes, I use the fire one the most. Other than "fire mode," I mostly use it in white light mode. I wasn't sure how much I'd use this when I bought it, but I'm surprised how much I actually do. I've connected it to my Myo for some gesture "magic" effects. It's a handy night light that works great with a sleep timer. It also works as a handy lantern for those late night treks to the pantry for a cookie. Ohh, and you can control it with a phone, Myo, or anything else with API access. Good times.

I purchased the Phillips Hue Go as an alternative to using the LED strip to accent the wall underneath my TV. It does this function well, and is bright enough in all colors to fully "paint" the wall with light. I selected it over the wired version as the lumen output was higher, but have been surprised by the functionality of the battery. It's been great during power outages, and even as a (light duty!) work light. The button activates different color modes (a candle effect, and slow color gradients), but when plugged in works as a typical Hue light and can be controlled via the app, switch, and voice assistant. If you're needing a light source that has this effect and flexibility, you can't go wrong.
