The blades in this razor really cut close. The head pivots really well and it’s so easy to get a close shave, even if you have stubble. The settings are helpful and the charging plate is pretty cool. Charging your phone for last minute juice while you’re getting ready is helpful. The shaver feels solid, not cheap and it should for the price….the only drawback for this razor.

This is the second one I bought so far and the two years later the first is still working! I bought the second one for my mom and she likes the razor. <HOWEVER, SHE DID ADVISED THIS RAZOR IS PAINFULL SHAVING UNDER YOUR ARM PITS>. Loose skin for under arms so that should be expected but you should know before buying this product. As a man the first shaver is great but seem to always get razor bumps left and right of my chin.

What a treat it was to use the wonderful shaver. The look and feel of it is nothing but premium! It has a compact design that is not too bulky. It fits in my hand well. It comes with a rechargeable battery. It took roughly one hour to fully charge it on 10%. I also like the mini display that shows battery level and if you need to replace your blades. You can adjust for different speeds with a low, medium, and high depending on comfort and personal likings. The Shave itself was enjoyable. I chose to do a wet shave with just water. My experience was very pleasant from start to finish. There was no pulling or tugging on hairs. It was a clean smooth shave. As close as one can get without using a razor! Being on the medium settings was my preferred comfort. The way that the blade heads react to the skin and jawline was like clock work. It shaved all the hair off from my needed areas. The shaver itself was pretty quiet as well. The trimmer attachment worked well also. You are able to trim up areas around the beard, mustache, side burns, and overall hair line. I will say the trimmer was rougher than the blade heads. That is something I can live with. The carry case is nice as well. It is heavy duty made with material that will not collapse. It is quite roomy as well. I do wish the charger would fit inside the carry case. I guess that would be my only con about this. I really enjoyed this product. I enjoyed the smoothness and close comfortable shave!

Best shave of any product as this is a new design of the flex head. I have used these since 1970 in the military and won’t buy another brand! Ever! Some people prefer another type design for an electric shaver (face specific) but this one has always worked for my face. I prefer this brand and design of an electric razor to all other brands I have used over the 60 years of shaving. You definitely get what you pay for as this is an outstanding razor. The Philips Norelco 9000 Prestige Series Shaver (SP9872/86) is a rechargeable wet/dry shaver with included beard trimmer and wireless Qi charging pad. The trimmer also comes with a nice carrying case and cleaning brush. For me this is replacing my aging, but loved Philips Norelco 6400 that I have had for 5-6 years. It has a similar form factor, and has been a nice razor. I also use a Norelco 5000 series for my beard and neck trimming. Fresh out of the box you need to charge the shaver to full. I hooked up the wireless charging pad and tossed the shaver on it. It came with 60-ish% battery out of the box and took a little over an hour to charge fully. The shaver has 3 rotary heads for the main attachment. The heads come with Philip’s highest quality blades – the NanoTech precision blades. Each rotary head is designed with SkinComfort rings to improve movement across dry skin by reducing surface friction. The rotary head is removable by simply pulling it off the shaver body and is recommended for replacement every 2 years (replacement P/N is SH98/82). With the shaver head off you can easily pop on the precision trimmer to tidy up necklines, sideburns, etc. The shaver has the ability to adjust speed levels between 3 settings – slowest for greater comfort and highest for the quickest shave. I chose slowest since I have slightly sensitive skin, and wanted to avoid razor burn as much as possible. With my 6400 I mainly used it on my face and avoided using it on my neck due to razor burn and beard hair pulls (even when using shave cream/gel). With the 9000 I decided to give it a try all over to see how well it did. I used the shaver dry and wet on both my face and neck. For a dry shave the 9000 did a superb job. I was able to easily edge around my beard and didn’t experience a single beard snag. I have never gotten to edge my beard line as close with my 6400. The 9000 has the BeardAdapt Sensor, which is meant to adjust to beard density and I guess helps with avoiding the snags. The 9000 left me with a very close shave on my face – pretty close to what I get from my barber when he straight blades me. I shaved my neck as well – I moved the speed setting down to its lowest for improved comfort. Since I usually just use my beard trimmer on my neck I expected some bumps after using the shaver, which is what I got. Not nearly as bad as when I would shave my neck with my 6400, so there’s some decent improvement. The contour head did a good job getting all of the hairs on my neck, and shave time was only about 8 min. I shaved again a couple of days later with a shave gel, and I noticed a decent drop in the amount of bumps. The manual says to give it a couple of weeks to acclimate to the new shaver, but I think it will work out. My hope is that I can shave it dry without bumps in the near future. Using the 9000 is a nicer experience over previous shavers I have owned. It’s by far the quietest shaver I have used, and I am able to hold a conversation with someone while using it. Cleanup is easy as well, and it takes very little time to rinse it out. I am also able to go roughly an extra day between shaves if I need to due to the closeness of the shave and how well it handled longer hairs. The included carrying case is a nice touch as well. The shaver does have a travel mode, like my other shavers, but the carry case gives me another level of comfort for when its in my bag. I also really like the charging pad. Its very convenient to plop the shaver down on it, but also you can use it to charge any Qi enabled device. I have put my phone on it while taking a shower, or while shaving. Its sneakily one of the best perks of this shaver. With all the good things this shaver has going for it there is one area I was a little disappointed. The Precision trimmer just doesn’t do as much as I would want. The trimmer attachment on my 6400 was a mini-beard trimmer on its own with an adjustable depth comb, and it could power though a decent amount of hair. The trimmer for the 9000 is good for minimal edging around sideburns and mustache, which is all that it advertises itself to do so I can’t fault it too much. I would not count on it to shave larger patches if that’s what you need. I tried it on my neck and it took a several passes to clean shave a 1-2” spot. In the same amount of time my beard trimmer was able to shave almost my entire neck. I expected something like my old trimmer attachment, which was much more capable. Overall, I found the S9000 Prestige to be a very well made and high performing shaver. It’s the best shave I have gotten without paying my barber, and it will likely be the first shaver that I can use on my neck without severe razor burn. The wireless charging pad, multispeed setting for comfort, and ability to not snag longer beard hairs has really won me over and differentiated itself from my older 6400. I think its worth the look for sure.

I have quite the collection of wireless shavers, used for a little while and then discarded because I never feel like they get a close enough shave and often I was left with pretty bad neck irritation due to having to really dig in with them. Enter the Phillips Norelco 9000 Prestige Shaver, a premium product and among the most expensive wireless shavers I have ever owned. It comes with its own Qi Charging Pad, so no more having to find the plug for the shaver and remembering to plug it in. There are no other bells and whistles for the 9000, like Bluetooth connectivity or a smartphone app to tell you how well you are shaving. There’s no cleaning reservoir, just a small bristle brush to clean the heads out after each use. The 9000 just gets down to the business of shaving. Place it on the Qi charger and a small display tells you how much charge the battery has. A directional button allows you to select the “Comfort” setting of your shave. And how does it do? The manual suggests you don’t have more than 2-3 days of stubble when using the 9000 for the first time. I ignored this suggestion and fired the 9000 up with a pretty decent 3 days worth of whiskers. I started with the lowest comfort level and did have to boost up to the highest to get a good shave. At the highest setting, the 9000 had no issues removing 98% of my stubble. There were a few tough spots that it couldn’t quite reach. This is the best first effort I’ve ever experienced with a wireless shaver. The next day I used the 9000 again, able to easily give me the cleanest shave I’ve had with a wireless shaver yet. I used the “Efficient” comfort setting and had very little neck irritation. The 9000 is a keeper, in my opinion. It is quiet, compact, sexy, and the Qi charger makes it a breeze to charge. By the way, the Qi charger also charged my smartphone without an issue. Kind of helps save on having to pack extra chargers on a trip, although I’m not sure Phillips included the Qi charger to use with cell phones too. Regardless, this is the best shaver I have ever used.

    The ULTIMATE Electric Shaver

The Philips Norelco 9000 Prestige Shaver is without question, the VERY BEST Electric Shaver that I have ever experienced. I own the previous model of the Philips Norelco shaver, as well as 2 top models by leading competitors. No shaver delivers a smooth face as consistently as the 9000 Prestige. Shave wet with shaving cream, or shave dry. Simply hold the 3) rotary heads under the tap when you are finished shaving. Press a button on the shave head cover & it pops open, allowing easy access to cleaning the trimming heads under the tap. 9000 Prestige includes a Qi Charging Pad, a wonderful addition of technology & convenience. Simply place the shaver on the included sculpted pad, and the shaver lights, indicating that the shaver has begun charging, and displays the charge level. This shaver is quieter than any other shaver in my collection; it has a beard sensor that checks hair density 15 times / second & adapts the cut to your hair. With the triple rotary cutters, it glides across your shin, leaving a very close shave. It even includes a trimmer attachment. CONCLUSION: The 9000 Prestige is THE Shaver that will deliver a smooth trim every time. It earns my highest recommendation.

I opened this up and took out the shaver and charging pad. The battery was low so I charged it up on the pad. it didnt take very long for it to become fully charged. I had not shaved for days but this shaver took my growth down to nothing in quick fashion. There was no pinching or pulling of the hair on my face. I got a good close shave very quickly. Cleanup was just as easy I just opened the shaving head and rinsed it out as the directions suggested. When that was done i placed it back on the charging pad and let it recharge. Each time I have used this it has been the same fast and easy shaving routine. I have used other Phillips shavers in the past and I believe this is by far the best one I have used. The fact that this uses QI charging instead of having to plug it into a stand to charge just make this that much better. Aldo now I do not have to spend extra money for a cleaning solution that my other Phillips shaver needs to use for cleaning the shaving heads. This is everything I could have asked for in a razor. no skin irritation eithwer

Wow, testing out an electric razor never came at a better time. You see, I’ve sported a beard for over a decade and just recently went clean shaven. I’ve already gotten a bit “over it” when it comes to blade shaving, but I’ve never had that much luck with electric shavers. Throughout most of the time I was sporting a beard, I used the Philips Norelco One Blade and I was really happy with the results. It kept my beard even and close and allowed me to trim nice lines with it. But it really isn’t suited for close shaving in my opinion and although it’s listed as a ‘wet/dry’ shaver I never felt comfortable using it in the shower. (I prefer shaving in the shower because it’s cleaner and the hot water softens your beard.) But I was a little more willing to use this shaver in the shower because of the Qi charging feature; I knew there weren’t any openings or ports that could retain water and ruin the device. Qi charging is an amazing feature and one that should be included on more wet/dry shavers! (Plus, you can always top off your phone on the charging pad while you’re in the shower! Efficiency!) I’m not going to lie; the first time you turn that shaver on in the shower, it feels SO wrong. But as you start using it, you quickly realize how right it is. I used a *small* amount of the same shaving gel I would use with a blade and the heads just glided over my skin. No pulling, snagging or any discomfort. I honestly had to rub my hand over my face to see if it was actually cutting anything. It took a little longer than with a blade, but I got a closer shave over all – even on my neck – without any irritation or redness. It's super easy to clean as well; one button pops the head open, and you just run the water over it. All the stubble and gel quickly washes out. After my shower, I was expecting the inevitable redness and tenderness of my face as with previous electric shavers, but my face felt great! I’ve used it 4-5 times now and went with a completely close shave and my skin has never gotten irritated. I even tried a dry shave after a two-day growth using an electric shave tonic and while it didn’t get quite as close as the shower shaves, it was sufficient enough to go out and even then my face felt great with no irritation or redness. This has totally changed my mind about electric shavers, and I can’t imagine going back to a blade again ever. It’s just so much easier on my face and produces as good – if not better – results than my blade. The presentation and accessories are top quality, and this would make a great gift for someone with an older shaver, or someone struggling with blade shaves. They’d love you forever! I think that the only thing Philps Norelco missed in this package is some kind of clip or suction mount for the shower. I’m good in that I have a small shower pocket attached to my shower stall that fits my shaver, but a small loop with a suction cup would be a great accessory to include. Other than that, I’m highly impressed and super satisfied with my new shaver and would recommend it to any blade shavers out there!

Poor design. How is anyone supposed to travel with this for any extended period of time? The charge is huge and stupid. I don’t care if it seems futuristic to be able to have conductive charging… it’s not futuristic when I have to pack extra luggage for a gigantic charger. If you’re going to upsell on something, focus on higher quality unit that doesn’t feel like cheap plastic. Also a small travel case that doesn’t allow for hair dust to leak out would be nice instead of something larger.

The Philips Norelco 9000 Prestige Shaver is one smooth operator. The Norelco 9000 not only will give you a smooth comfortable shave but also looks and feels like a solid product. The Philips Norelco is a wet and dry electric wireless rechargeable shaver and in my honest opinion the only shaver you will ever need. I have been using this shaver for about a week now and I absolutely love it. I love the fact that this shaver can be used wet or dry, but I have had the best result and the closet shave while using this shaver with a gel shaving cream. So, let’s go over some of the features of the Philips Norelco 9000 Prestige. Unboxing and Features: My shaver only had about 10% battery left when it arrived. It took about 3 hours for the shaver to fully charge and gives you about 60 minutes of use per charge. The shaver comes with a Premium pouch, Precision Trimmer, Cleaning Bursh, Power adapter and a Wireless QI charging pad. • 3 Shaving Modes: Norelco 9000 offers three shaving modes depending on your need. You can choose between Comfort, Dynamic and Efficient. The modes can be changed using the “+” or “-“ buttons on the shaver. • Cleaning Reminder and Cleaning: The Norelco offers an easy to clean shaving head that flips open with one touch button. Cleaning is recommended after every shave and the shaver will also remind you with a notification on the display to clean the shaving head. The head can also be replaced when needed and the shaver will also remind you when the shaver head needs to be replaced. • Travel Lock: The shaver also has a built-in travel lock. The travel lock can be activated by holding the power button for three second and prevents the shaver from accidentally switching on and draining the battery. • Hydro SkinGlide Coating: I had my doubts about this feature but it works. I usually use the shaver along with shaving gel but the coating on the shaver really does help the shaving head glide even on dry skin. • Ultraflex Suspension System: The shaving head combined with the suspension system of the shaving head contours to your face for the closest and most precise shave. • Smart Hair Sensor: The Norelco has a smart hair sensor that checks for hair density 15 times per second and automatically adapts to your hair needs. • 45 Day Money Back Guarantee: This is probably the best option that Norelco offers. If you are not happy with the product, simply return it for a refund. You have nothing to lose with this option. Overall, I have tried out a few electric shavers over time, but I can honestly say this is probably the best shaver that I have used so far. This shaver is full of so many features and options and love how close and comfortable of a shave I get. I would highly recommend that if you are in the market for a shaver to definitely check out the Philips Norelco 9000 electric shaver, especially with 45 day money back guarantee you have nothing to lose.

    Simply The Best

As for the Prestige s9000 it is simply the best rotary shaver currently available. The model being reviewed (SP9820/87) is in my view a much better alternative to its twin with the Chi charging pad for several reasons (i.e. faster charge time of 1 hour vs 3 hours; small footprint in my luggage since the case is considerably smaller; smaller footprint on the countertop). It's important to know that the Prestige models lack both a cleaning station which my older s9721 had and the newer 9500 series carries (a cleaning pod). However, these are not needed. In fact, I view them as undesirable since they add unnecessary expense for cleaning cartridges and take up counter space. How do I deal with this lack of a cleaning station? After popping off the head and rinsing it, I then leave it alone on the counter to dry while putting the shaving handle away in its case in a drawer. Once a week I will spray the shaver's blades and combs with Shaver Saver, a lubricating spray available here on Amazon. For those who still have the older cleaning station from the 9000 series which I also have, you can simply remove the Prestige's head, put it on your older 9300 or 9700 shaver and then insert that into the cleaning station for cleaning since the Prestige head with the SH98 blades fits perfectly onto the older shaver and can therefore be used in the cleaning station. Another solution to the lack of a cleaning station is to simply buy the Norelco cleaning fluid (here on Amazon) and put some into a Tupperware container. Once a week, pop off the lid and run the shaver, head down, in the fluid for 15-20 seconds then shake off the excess and let it dry on the countertop. Bottom line: no cleaning station is needed. It should also be noted that there is no charging stand to accompany the shaver, however the usefulness of a charging stand is questionable in my opinion. How often do I charge my shaver? I charge it about once every three weeks for an hour. Therefore I do not need to have it sitting in some stand on my countertop all the time. Instead it is put in its case when not in use leaving the counter neat and empty. A close, comfortable shave is what you will receive. And how close is this shave? Well, close is close. Any closer and you would be removing skin from your face. We have only one face per customer so we need to treat it gently. In my view the Philips S9000 Prestige is as good as it gets.

Throughout my years, I've had so many shavers that I lost count around ten years ago. I've had them all, from very cheap off-brand to expensive department store ones. Most of them, if not all, have been a disappointment in one way or another. The battery either loses its juice over time, or the quality of the unit only lasts up to a year or so. Nobody wants to worry about their shaver. We want a tank that will last several years (like how things used to be made). With this Philips Norelco 9000, I've found it. It's light yet hefty, which tells me it's well-made. The blade surface is flexible and extremely comfortable too! I love this thing. It has power, and you don't have to baby it. There's not much more to ask for in a shave. I generally like to shave my neck with a razor. It feels like I get a closer shave than any electric shaver can offer, but not with this one. I was amazed that it rivaled a razor-shave. No other shaver I've ever had felt as close as this one. It's refreshing to know I won't have to deal with razor burns any longer. It works in the shower or out of it, dry or wet. That's great for those who only have a little time in the morning. We can shower and shave at the same time. You can be confident using this in water. The package you get here is convenient too. You not only get a very sleek and excellent Qi charger that allows easy charging, but you get a quality feeling case for travel too! Much time the included case is cheap and an afterthought. But not this one. It's very nice looking. Comfort, close shave, and durability - I'd describe this shaver as. Is it expensive compared to other shavers? Yes, but you pay for what you get. This one will satisfy.

If you want spend the money on a new Philip Norelco razor this one is by far the best one to shave your face i had another Norelco razor with the cleaning system I realized its hard to keep my old model clean and the cleaning system doesn’t last long before you have to replace the cleaning cartridge and its a pain to order them and hard to find in the stores as I decided to go with the latest model which I found it shaves even closer and easier to clean from other models the design of the head rinsing the head the hair clippings doesnt ball up and clog up that makes you use a brush to clean the bottom of the head the new design running it through the faucet all the hair will remove. Only draw back is the charger stand is little bulky and wont fit in the travel pouch but does have great blade speed that has less pulling of the hair feeling to it

We decided to invest in this razor as a replacement for our old one that had malfunctioned. Personally, I have a fondness for Norelco shavers due to their ability to provide a close and gentle shave, which aligns perfectly with my preferences. The maintenance is incredibly straightforward, and the inclusion of a Qi Charger makes charging this device a breeze. I'm thoroughly satisfied with this purchase.

I replaced my original Prestige with this newer model with angular head unit. The first thing i noticed was the whole head unit serned to flex more and therefore more easily contoured to my face. The shaver cleans easily to. Just press the button and the top part pops up and allows for easy cleaning under yhe tap. I was apprehensive about shaving under my nose and jaw line. Agsin, i just followed the suggestion in the manual for these areas. Regarding deep cleaning, i skip that. I fibd the suggested process difficult to do. I never had a problem with ny former Prestige from skipping the deep cleaning. Regarding the overall shave quality, i find the new model far superior. I do wish the shaver also came with a stand to allow it to stand fot easier air drying. I love the wireless charging. Fits nicely on my limited sink counter space. Great purchase.

Stayed away from electric razors mostly, not a close enough shave. However, this is the first electric razor that does cut close enough for me to feels it is good for daily use. Still use blade to trim occasionally, but I have used this electric everyday for last 6 months no issues. Easy charging with pad.

I recently purchased this razor after using a Braun Series 9 for a couple years. I liked the Braun, but did not love it. This Philips razor is so much better. It is so much quieter than the Braun and I get a much closer shave, almost as good as a regular razor. I never used a rotary shaver before, only foil so I was nervous about the performance. I am absolutely happy with this purchase and got it $100 off early Black Friday sale, so the high price was better. I would still pay full price for this razor as its superior to anything else I have ever used.

Very nice razor. Close shave with minimal irritation. Neat charging pad and digital display of battery life. A bit pricey.
