The Philips Norelco Shaver 2400 has become my go to for quick, clean shaves without the hassle. It’s lightweight, easy to handle, and glides smoothly across the skin with minimal irritation, even on sensitive areas. The floating heads adjust nicely to the contours of my face, giving an even shave every time, and the pop up trimmer is a convenient touch for cleaning up sideburns or edging a beard. I really appreciate how quiet it is and how long the battery lasts between charges and perfect for travel or everyday use. It’s not fancy or complicated, but it does exactly what it promises: a close, comfortable shave with zero fuss. A solid choice if you’re looking for performance and simplicity in one.

Great razor that hits above its weight class!

What a great razor that hits above its weight class! Regardless of if you prefer a wet shave or a dry shave…this has you covered! The first thing that really jumped out at me was the way Phillips Norelco designed the heads. The three razor heads kind of bow out a bit so when you put pressure on the head to your face, the blades really hug your face for a really close shave (see pic). You can really feel that you are getting a close shave without any discomfort. It really is a brilliant design! I love how I can feel the hugging of my face and the results are fantastic. I also like the pop up button on the bottom of the shaver head to clean the blades when I’m done shaving. The three razor heads are super easy to rinse, and I like leaving the blade head open to dry (see pics). The trimmer has a crisp pop to it when you hit the release button. Very easy to trim the hair around my sideburns. The unit feels good in the hand and I like the textured rubber grip since I shave wet. The rubber grip keeps the shaver secure in my hand with the water and shave gel usually getting on my hands. It’s light weight and has a nice little razer head cover for traveling. The only thing I don’t like….well let me rephrase that… It’s not that I don’t like it and maybe it’s just a trade off in design…. That it is so light weight… it feels not very sturdy. It’s almost completely made out of plastic. The head, the handle, the head rotors… On a big drop from my sink counter to the floor could spell trouble and broken parts. BUT on the other hand how do you make it light weight? No one wants to shave with a boat anchor in their hand! I guess this just comes down to user preference. Overall…what it really comes down to is the quality of the shave and it does a really job!!! Holds a great charge, easy to clean, comfortable and hugs my face like a champ for a smooth comfortable shave! They recommend a new head system every year which is awesome! That’s a lot of shaving. I guess it can go so long because they claim the blades are self-sharpening! Which is also cool. Can’t go wrong with this razor! Really like it!

Great Basic Shaver that works well

I picked up this Norelco shaver because I have used Norelco shavers for years and have always been happy with them. This model does not disappoint me. It’s a basic good shaver that you can use in the shower or you can use it dry. It has a 40-minute runtime after a one-hour charge. If it does go dead on you, you can charge it for 5 minutes and be able to get one shave. Great when you ignored the charge light and it goes dead on you. There is a light that indicates when its time to charge. It has a nice rubber grip around the handle that helps you keep it in your hand. The feature I look for in any shaver is an on-board pop-up trimmer which this model has. The cutting assembly is attached with a hinge on this model which makes it easy to open and either blow out the debris or simply wash it under the faucet with some warm water. Charging is done with a propriety cable that connects to the razor and has a USB-A plug. I like this for travel, because I can charge in the car, from my laptop, or my phone charger. Using the razor is pretty straightforward. It runs quietly and smoothly. It cuts fast and smooth. Some reviews state it is slow for a razor, I disagree. It runs as fast as my other shavers, and cuts just fine. I find it glides across my face smoothly and easily as it cuts the whiskers. For me, it cuts pretty close and it’s quick. You can use it in the car or while walking around the house. Very convenient! CONCLUSION: It’s a great shaver that does everything you might need and it does it quietly and without hassle. Everything you need is in the box; cover for the blades, and the USB charging cable. There is no case, but I just pack it in my suitcase. You don’t need a brush to clean it if you rinse it under the faucet. At around 40 bucks, it’s a great price for a no-frills cordless shaver. All in all, I recommend this shaver.

An affordable shaver that gets the job done!

First of all it is important to mention that this Norelco 2400 shaver is a relatively entry level product, if I mention it is because for its price it would be unfair to demand more than what it can offer. So considering the above it is possible to mention which are its strong points and which are not. Starting with the packaging, the product comes in a relatively small box along with a USB power cable, a protective cap and a manual. The product does not include the power adapter. The first thing to do is to charge the battery of the shaver as it comes discharged. Once the battery is fully charged it will be ready to use. Regarding the design, compared to other Norelco models, it is simple and robust. It has a fair finish, that is, the parts that make up the product fit well and fulfill their function, however it is not a premium finish. The shaver is made of plastic and silicone, and is very light (perhaps more than necessary), but despite this the ergonomic design allows a good grip making it easy to use. Passing the performance, the shaver works great with its 4D Flex Heads that allows more precise movements. Although I must say that it takes me a little longer to get the same result as with my previous shaver (also Philips but high end). It is necessary, at least for the type of face and facial hair I have, to pass the shaver more times to get the desired result. Beyond this, which as I said at the beginning is normal for the price, I find no drawbacks in use. My face is in perfect condition after a week of use, wet and dry, I have not suffered any irritation and the shaver has met my expectations. It also has a detachable trimmer which I find very helpful when it comes to shaping my beard and also to correct sideburns. On some parts of my face I prefer to run the trimmer first and then the shaver to get an even better result. The battery lasts for several shaves, so far I haven't had to charge it this week although an hour of charging will be more than enough. In summary, this Philips Norelco 2400 shaver is an inexpensive (entry level) product that does what is needed for a good shave. It is easy to use and can be used outside and inside the shower as well. The blades can be replaced as needed. It has an ergonomic design that allows for a firm grip and more control. No doubt for the price and the features it provides, this shaver is a great option.

    Convenient Shower Shaving

As someone who recently switched from a traditional straight blade razor to the Philips Norelco Shaver 2400, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by its performance and ease of use. Here are my thoughts: 1. Maintenance-Free Convenience: The Norelco 2400 is incredibly easy to maintain. Cleaning it is a breeze—simply press a button to release the top, which opens on a hinge, and run it under the faucet. That’s it! No fuss, no intricate disassembly. 2. Wet and Dry Shaving Flexibility: The Norelco 2400 offers both wet and dry shaving options. I’ve used it in the shower with great success. Pair it with your favorite soap or gel for a refreshing wet shave. The waterproof design ensures longevity and prevents water damage. 3. ComfortCut Blades: The 27 self-sharpening ComfortCut blades comfortably cut each hair right above skin level, providing a smooth finish. I appreciate that the blades stay sharp like new for up to two years. 4. 4D Flex Heads: The floating heads flex in four directions, maintaining even contact with your skin. This design protects against nicks and cuts, making the shaving experience comfortable. 5. Battery Life: The battery lasts about 40 minutes or up to 13 shaves. While the battery life isn’t exceptional, charging it weekly has been sufficient for me. 6. Shave Quality: The Norelco 2400 provides a decent shave. It may not be as close as a straight blade razor, but it gets the job done effectively. I use in the shower with only soap as the lubricant. Does a nice job. If I need a quick touch up at night, I dry shave which is fast and efficient. Final Verdict The Philips Norelco Shaver 2400 is a reliable and hassle-free choice for those seeking a convenient shaving experience. Whether you’re in the shower or at the sink, it delivers consistent results. As someone who’s made the switch, I’m satisfied with its performance and ease of maintenance. ________________________________________ In summary, the Norelco 2400’s wet and dry capabilities, ComfortCut blades, and straightforward design make it a solid choice for anyone looking to simplify their shaving routine.

Skip it and buy a model with a removable head

First impressions: I’m glad I have giant hands because this shaver is THICK! Like home-protection-beat-an-intruder-with-it kind of thick. It’s not heavy it’s just thick. I don’t like it. Even with my giant hands it is too thick to be comfortable. I understand why it is thick: the head is not removable which forces a wider design to accommodate. The tapered body narrows where your grip is supposed to be, but it’s not enough to change the overall comfort of using it. You can see in the attached photo Philips Norelco offers more narrow grips in other models that are practically identical in height. I advise spending a few more dollars and going with a different Philips Norelco shaver. When in use the blades flex enough to contour to the part of your body being shaved so if you have used Philips Norelco shavers in the past its practically the same experience and the shave offered between all 3 of the models I own is indistinguishable, the only real difference is noise level when the unit is on, and the grip. I love how manufactures like to experiment with textures used for grip, again in the photo you can see the 2400 uses small spaced rhombus vs circles vs nothing at all. My un-scientific review is that any etching is better than a smooth surface when you introduce water into the equation. The last thing I’ll share about the 2400 is that the pop-up trimmer is terrible. The box claims it’s “Ideal for trimming your sideburns” but I found that it’s too flimsy to do anything more than annoy you in the attempt to use it and it barely vibrates enough to do anything more than irritate your skin.

While this isn’t the most feature rich razor it has everything you need for a decent shave and trim. This is an entry level razor that is good for someone just getting into shaving or needs a shaver to use at the gym or for travel. I would recommend checking out Norelco’s more advanced shavers for anyone who has very course hair or very sensitive skin. Shaving Experience: After several shavings I have not experienced any razor burns even though my facial skin is somewhat sensitive. Note that I have been using an electric razor for some time so my skin is acclimated to electric razors. Norelco claims it takes 21 days for your skin to be fully adapted to an electric razor. As with any electric shaver I do make several passes over my facial hair to make sure the razor gets everything. This razor can be used wet or dry but I prefer to shave dry so that I can see and feel if the hairs are cleanly shaved. The three floating heads do a good job of keeping the skin-to-razor contact and I was able to get a clean shave on my upper lip and chin without much downward pressure. One plus for Norelco razors is the included trimmer and although its not as powerful or as refined as a dedicated trimmer it is more than adequate to do some touch ups. The overall look and feel of the razor is that of a typical Norelco but due to the minimum amount of grippy surface and plastic build it’s a tad more slippery especially when wet. Cleaning the razor after use is simple with the razor head opening up for easy access for cleaning with a brush or water. The sound/noise from the rotary blades are typical of what I have experienced with other electric razors and I didn’t find it to be bothersome. The shaver comes with a cable that is a USB-A to Norelco proprietary plug but it does not include a charger. It also does not include any type of cleaning brush or storage bag. It does include a cover for the blades to protect them. The razor has a low battery level indicator that warns you when you only have 5 minutes left on the charge.

Philips Norelco Shaver 2400 This rechargeable men’s shaver is equipped with rotating 27 self-sharpening “ComfortCut” blades and includes a pop-up trimmer for sideburns and mustache edges. In addition, it is fully waterproof and washable. Philips claims that the blades stay sharp like new for 2 full years on their website. It recharges easily and seems to last a long number of shaves on a charge. Philips states with a 1 hour charge it will last 40 minutes which for me is about 8-10 shaves if used daily. By the way, there is a flashing LED to indicate when it requires a charge session. It charges via a USB charger that probably everyone has already. Philips does not supply one in their effort “to reduce waste and minimize the number of USB adapters they put into the market”. Philips will supply an adapter via their website but the price is unknown. One can shave dry or use a favorite foam or gel for a wet shave. It has a handle with rubber grip surfaces that makes it easy to hold. From the website: “The IPX7 waterproofness rating means it can be submerged in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes.” The blades are made of non-corrosive “surgical steel” which are touted as hypoallergenic. I suffered no irritation when using this to shave my facial hair including my mustache and chin area. It works equally well in the shower with shave cream on my face as it does in front of the bathroom mirror. I also have used it dry with no shave cream and it works really well on my dry facial hairs. Most of my use has been dry and not in the shower. Of note: I have been using electric shavers on and off for years in conjunction with straight multi- blade razors depending on the mood and where I am. It has a 2 year warranty. Register it online when first received and an additional 6 months is added to the warranty by Philips Norelco.

As a bald man this thing has been awesome! I have used it primarily for keeping my head hair buzzed. Some days I just don’t feel like shaving my head and this thing has come in clutch. After having it over a year and useing it I’d say at least every other day for that time it’s stayed consistent. Even when my hair has gotten long enough to start to become soft instead of prickly ( those who shave their head know what I’m talking about ) it still cut it only it took two passes over the area instead of one. Tight buzz, and just now getting to where I need to replace the head part because the blades are now dull.
