I bought during Black Friday sales, as it was only a little more than three cost of replacement blades. USB charges with your own ac adapter - comes only with the cable. Plugged into my iPhone charger and charges in a few hours. I have shaved my head -bald - face and neck for a FULL 7 days and did not have to recharge. It does not operate with quite as much power as my standard cordless Philips Nireclo Series 5000, so takes just a few minutes more to shave. This is is VERY MUCH LIGHTER. I love the simple design. And great to have a travel and backup shaver now!

Its pretty good in what it supposed to do, clean shaving. Tried it as dry shaver (no foam or even water) and wet (with foam) and found it works good when using foam. It could be my habbit so far thats causing me feel like it but found it so convenient. Now its gonna be always in my travel bag. Only one complaint, if i charge it fully, it does not remain for even few days and drains battery. But overall, good equipment added that works great.

I've gone through a lot of shavers but I'm happy with this one. I got rid of several other things that I used to use and now I just use this one for everything.

My face has sensitive skin prone to razor bumps. I've tried several shavers in the past with limited success and lately I've been using plain straight razors. I've decided to try this Philips Norelco and see how my skin reacts.
The shaver comes in a nice looking blue package that includes a proprietary charging cable that can be connected to a usb charging output. The package also includes a precision trimmer and a protective cap but no charger. The shaver only works with a rechargeable battery that has to be fully charged before first use. This shaver was at 100% and ready to go after barely 10 minutes of charging.
I don't grow a full bushy beard. I typically shave every 3 days and there's enough hair to be noticeable. My luck, the shaver arrived when I needed a shave. There's only one speed and I started with a dry shave on each side of my face. I was surprised by how smooth it was. It was easy to establish contact with my skin. The heads were flexible enough as to necessitate minimal re-shaving. I decided to do a wet shaving under my chin since it's the most sensitive area of my face. The wet shaving was as smooth as the dry one. It took a little over 3 minutes to finish everything. The shaving was close to the face and didn't require much retouching. With the time it takes me to shave I imagine the battery can handle a dozen uses before charging. Time will tell. It cleans easily with a few shakes and I also use a small brush to remove any remaining hair. Despite the speed and smoothness, I still got razor bumps but not more than with my favorite razors. This is mostly due to the sensitivity of my skin.
This little shaver surprised me with its smooth and close shave. It's light and feels solid. I will continue to use it as long as the razor bumps are kept to a minimum. I would give it a 5-star if it had more than one speed, for better control, and zero irritation which is asking for a lot in my case. In conclusion this shaver is a keeper.

This is a good shaver but it’s pretty basic. The actual shave is good but no different than my older Norelco shaver.
Things I like - (1) It’s light weight and easy to handle, (2) It stands up on the counter so it takes up less counter space, (3) It charges quickly and a change lasts at least a week. (4) It’s simple enough to use out of the box. Charge and push a button to shave.
Things I don’t like - (1) the USB charging cable. Why USB? Why not a standard plug? I don’t keep a USB port in my bathroom so I have to charge this in my bedroom or living room (2) The plug is on the bottom of the shaver so when it’s charging, it has to lay on it’s side, putting it on the back of the shaver would have been better so it can still stand up while charging. (3) The instructions are printed on this really large sheet of paper with tiny print. Would have preferred a booklet that is easier to flip through. (4) The trimming attachment isn’t integrated into the shaver like on my old shaver. Just pushing a button is a easier and quicker to use than twisting a shaving head to pop it off and then snapping on a trimming attachment. This might have been good if there were more attachments like a nose trimmer but there are none.
Other thoughts – (1) If you are going to use a USB cable to charge it, why not have both ends USB? I would prefer a USB C port on the shaver instead of a proprietary connector. (2) A charging base would have been really nice vs having to attach a cable to charge. (3) The light weight and thinner handle can make the shaver feel a little flimsy even though it really isn’t. All my previous Norelco shavers felt really solid. This one doesn’t have that same feel but again, it’s really just different from what I’m used to.
Final thoughts and notes: If you aren’t used to electric shavers, they can irritate your skin. They take some getting used to . But once you use them consistently, your skin adjusts. You will get a closer shave from a razor but a shaver like this is quicker and easier and it’s very rare that you cut yourself using one. All-in-all it’s a decent shaver. I just wish I went for one with a few more features.

Here’s my personal review of the Philips Norelco Shaver 5000X after using it for a few weeks:
First off, the design is sleek and lightweight. I really liked how comfortably it fits my hand, and the grip makes it super easy to maneuver—especially when I’m doing a quick shave before heading out. The waterproof build is also a plus, so whether I want a dry shave in front of the mirror or a quick touch-up in the shower, it’s got me covered.
The shave itself is pretty good for an electric. It handles my regular stubble with ease—even after a few days’ growth, I get a clean result on my cheeks and jaw. Sometimes, I do feel a bit of stubble on my neck if I brush against the grain, but it’s minimal and usually only if I’m not super thorough. It never pinches or nicks, and it takes just a couple of minutes to get everything tidy. My neck can be sensitive, but I had only a little irritation after shaving daily for a stretch.
Switching out the shaver head for the trimmer is quick, but if you use the trimmer a lot, having to swap the attachment might be a bit of a hassle. The trimmer works fine for sideburns and cleaning up around the nose, but it’s not the most precise or quiet out there. For me, it’s good enough for what I need.
Battery life is impressive—I’ve gone weeks without needing a recharge. The USB charging cable makes it portable, but I wish Philips had used a standard USB-C port instead of their usual proprietary plug. One thing to note: you can’t run the shaver while it’s plugged in, so if the battery runs low you’ll have to wait for a quick charge. Thankfully, a 5-minute charge is enough for one shave.
Cleaning is super easy; just pop off the head and give it a rinse after use.
Pros:
Comfortable, lightweight design
Wet & dry shaving options
Fast, easy cleanup
Great battery life with quick charging
No nicks or pinching
Cons:
Not as close as a manual razor
Trimmer attachment isn’t built-in
Proprietary charging cable
Doesn’t work while plugged in
Bottom line: If you want an electric shaver that’s easy to use, gentle on the skin, and convenient for travel or daily use, the Philips Norelco 5000X delivers. It may not give the absolute closest shave, but for the price and comfort, I’m happy with it and would recommend it to anyone tired of dealing with blades.

Smooth Moves

This is an all-around great shaver and trimmer. It is designed ergonomically, and certain unique features elevate its value and results. For one, the trimmer has a longer than usual neck that allows for a more precise cut and line-up. Shaping and getting a defined edge is so easy with this trimmer. Along with that, the cuts are much finer that what other trimmers can accomplish, especially at this price point. The shaver attachment pivots to accommodate to the body’s natural contours, ensuring a clean shave with no missed spots. It leaves the skin smooth, there is no snagging and no irritation after shaving. It also opens for easy cleaning inside.
It charges quickly and has lasted all week and still has not needed to be charged. It is also waterproof so it can be used in the shower. It is great for both face and body. Another plus is that it is really quiet. There is no worry about waking anyone up when shaving at night or in the morning in a room-adjacent bathroom. Overall, this is a great shaver that meets all basic shaving and trimming needs and can be used by both males and females.

This was my first experience with a triple head electric shaver, and it was a positive one. The shaver feels great in your hand. It is light and easy to carry around. It is also very quiet compared to other electric shavers I have used.
It also has a trimmer attachment, which I did not use. You simply unsnap the triple head cutters and snap in the trimmer to use its features.
The cover for the triple blades flips up for easy cleaning.
A USB-A cord is furnished for charging. The unit does not ship with a charger. I used an old spare charger for my iPad, and it worked fine with the razor. You plug it in, and the charging light flashes, to let you know it is charging. When I returned home a couple of hours later, the shaver was fully charged.
I got a close and comfortable shave shave with this shaver, with no discomfort whatsoever. It is a wet-dry shaver, and I used wet. It is said to be fully shower safe.
Like most rechargeable shavers, you are not to use the shaver while it is plugged in to your USB charger. That cable is for charging only. This unit should last through many shaves before it’s time for recharging.
I very much enjoyed the shaving experience with this Philips Norelco shaver, and I highly recommend it.

Smooth Transition from Manual to Electric Shaving

I recently purchased this electric shaver and overall, I am very satisfied with the product. It’s my first time switching from a traditional razor to an electric machine, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The transition hasn’t been instant, there’s definitely a bit of a learning curve, but the results so far have been promising.
One thing I’ve noticed is that it takes some time for the skin to fully adjust to the electric shave, especially if you're used to a close blade shave. At first, the shave wasn’t quite as close as I expected, but after a few uses, it started to feel much smoother and more comfortable. I’ve read that it can take a couple of weeks for your skin and hair to adapt, and I believe that’s accurate.
What I really appreciate about this product is the convenience. No more shaving cream or dealing with messy sinks, just pick up the machine and go. It’s also much faster than a manual shave, especially during rushed mornings. The design is ergonomic and feels good in the hand, and the battery life has been excellent so far. I’ve been using it for several days on a single charge.
I also like how gentle it is on my skin. I haven’t experienced any irritation or razor burn, which is something I often dealt with when using regular razors. It works well on both dry and slightly damp skin, and the cleaning process is very simple.
All in all, this is a solid product. If you’re thinking about switching to electric shaving, I recommend giving this one a try. Just be patient with the adjustment period — it’s worth it in the end

I've found this design far superior to the flat head electric shavers. I've never used the 3 head style before so no idea how it compares. It's worked well, easy to use, lightweight so easy to handle, handles the curves of my face well, cleaning is easy, not loud, and simple to recharge. Giving it 4 stars, not 5, because I do have to go over section multiple times, which might be normal for all electric razors.

Shaving. Not my favorite part of the morning, however, I greatly dislike going out unshaven. The Philips Norelco Shaver 5000X makes the endeavor a little bit easier. This cordless, rechargeable razor can be used at the sink or in the shower. I use mine at the sink and like that I don't have to wait for water to get hot, while also avoiding clean-up. And if you have a significant other or date, there's no (or at least less) fighting for sink space.
It's has a nice build quality and shape, fitting nicely in your hand. Learning to use it effectively only takes a couple of sessions.
It's painless (no cuts, no nicks!) and gets to all the nooks and crannies (think nose and near the ears) easily.
I love how easy it is to clean and I often throw it in my gym bag for late-day clean-ups.
There's an attachment called a "precision trimmer" for fine-tuning the mustache, beard or chops. Nice.
According to the manufacturer, one hour of charging with the USB-A cable provides fifty minutes of shaving. In a pinch, a five minute charge will get you an emergency shave. I have not verified these claims, but I also haven't recharged it yet - in over 3 weeks of use.

This Is A Relatively Nice Electric Shaver

Phillips has been my favorite brand of triple cutting head razors for many years.
They produce a nice quality machine that with proper care will last quite a long time.
This 5000X shaver is a wet or dry razor ( Waterproof IPX7 ) that can even be used in the shower.
Personally I never do that, I shave at the sink as I always have, but I take advantage of the waterproof feature by using a stream of hot water from the faucet to clean it up after a shave.
The triple head shaving attachment can easily be tugged off and replaced by a trimming head for sideburns and edges of a beard or moustache.
This razor is quieter than my 7000 series and still delivers a fairly nice shave with minimal razor burn in a few places I had to go over longer than others.
It charges from a USB power source that I hope you, like most people have an abundance of, but if you dont you will need to purchase one. No power block or charging source is provided with the razor.
But a proprietary end USB on the other end cord is provided.
In the box you will find the triple shaving head and protective cover, the sideburn trimmer head, and the cord for the USB power source that you must provide and thats it.
No cleaning brushes or combs of any sort are included and neither is any sort of case for travel.
But it does have a travel lock feature to keep it from powering on in your luggage.
Its pretty basic but would make an OK first electric razor as some dont stick with an electric an no use buying the top of the line to begin with and have it end up in a drawer somewhere and not be used.
