The concept behind the Pokeball Plus is cool - using motion control to capture Pokemon in the franchise's first ever home console game. It also works with the mobile game Pokemon Go, and comes with an exclusive Pokemon to be used in Let's Go. But the controls are clunky, the tiny control stick/button hard to use accurately, and there are the absolute bare minimum instructions included that don't go beyond how to charge it and sync with the game. What do those different colored lights mean? What does the virbration mean? What does a long button press do instead of a short one? No one knows because the instructions certainl y don't give any guidence. You can transfer a Pokemon into the Pokeball and walk with it to gain XP points, which can help with making your team super powerful very fast. Hopefully, future Switch Pokemon games will utilize this in some manner, or otherwise this just ends up being an expensive novelty item.

My son loves this thing...for what it costs (idk). If you are into Pokemon then it's for you.

Buy this if you are a Pokémon fan not to play the game. The cross functionality with Pokémon Go on your phone is really cool though. I prefer to play Let’s Go with a Pro Controller but this device is neat. It will be worth a ton when it’s discontinued and you can sell it on eBay for a small fortune in about 6 years.

I love this item and the weight it has makes it fee high quality! I just wish the material was different. It’s not as white anymore from I guess dust, dirt and denim rubbing off on it. There are options to turn off the volume, but I have to do the steps a few times to activate it. I’m not sure if it’s me or the device but I’ve never been able to get it the first time.
