The Polaroid Go Gen 2 is a fun throwback camera for kids and adults alike. It’s great to see some of the camera technology I grew up with make a comeback. It’s highly portable, and the pictures are miniature compared to full-sized Polaroid instant film. It’s a very simple point-and-shoot camera. It also features a flash for nighttime photos and a self-timer for selfies. There is a small LED display that shows how many pictures you have left, whether the flash is on or off, and it flashes when the self-timer is engaged. It’s a fun camera for taking pictures with friends and sharing them instantly. The only drawback is that the small instant film packs are pricey, especially since they only come with 8 photos per pack. I gave it to my daughter and gave her a quick tutorial on how to use it so she doesn’t end up wasting film while learning. For this type of camera, you typically want to avoid using the flash as much as possible, otherwise, you will get overexposed pictures. Only use the flash if you absolutely must. It’s important that after you take a picture, you wait 5 seconds before removing it from the camera, and then quickly place it face down for 15 minutes to allow it to develop properly. Overall, holding this little camera brings back a wave of sweet nostalgia, instantly taking me back to my childhood when my parents would let me snap pictures on their original Polaroid.

I own several models of Polaroid cameras. This being my first “mini” version. That said, this Polaroid Go Instant Camera (Gen 3) is most definitely well made, on par with those previous models, and is oh so cute, too. Setup was super easy. In the box there’s a wrist strap, an 8-count film pack, a Quick Start User’s Guide, and a sheet of colorful stickers which you can use to place on the white strip at the bottom edge of the photos. There is no charging cable included. For selfies, there’s a reflective mirrored surface on the front of the viewfinder. There is a dedicated ‘Double Exposure’ button. I’ve yet to successfully get the results I’m going for with this, but I’ll keep on trying. Picture quality is what you’d expect from a Polaroid. Couple that with the smaller size of the photos being taken, and that less sharp “grainy” aspect of the images is what you will get. Yet that is part of the nostalgia, no? As always, the biggest downside is the cost of the film. Polaroid film is known for being pricey, and that is a major factor on whether this type of camera is worth it. I’d say, as a novelty or for capturing those special moments where you’d want to share a photo with friends to take with them, then perhaps. Otherwise, modern home office printers can print pics you have on your phone with more cost effective photo paper.

I have used the Polaroid Go Instant Camera Generation 3, and it is certainly great. I really like how portable and easy it is to take anywhere. It feels like the perfect instant camera for everyday moments, travel, events, and casual photography. The compact, wearable design makes it easy to carry while still giving me the fun, classic Polaroid experience. This Generation 3 model has been upgraded in several impressive ways. The new lens, tighter shots, wide aperture range, precise light sensor, more powerful flash, and improved exposure settings all help make photos look even better. I also appreciate that it uses Polaroid’s smallest instant film, which adds to the camera’s portability and charm. The included Polaroid Color Go Film Single Pack with 8 color instant photographs is a great bonus because I was able to start taking pictures right away. I also like the classic analog instant camera feel. The improved light meter position, better ranging sensor, upgraded two-lens autofocus system, built-in tripod mount, filter compatibility, self-timer, and double-exposure modes make the camera more versatile and fun to use. These features help produce sharper images across different lighting conditions while still maintaining the nostalgic Polaroid look. The USB-C rechargeable battery is also very convenient because it can be charged anywhere. I also like the compatibility with Polaroid i-Type and 600 Film, giving more flexibility for capturing real-life moments in iconic Polaroid pictures. Overall, this Polaroid instant camera bundle is a great choice for anyone who wants a fun, stylish, and easy-to-use camera. It combines the classic Polaroid experience with useful modern upgrades, and the included color film makes it ready to enjoy right out of the box.

I have been thinking whether I should write this review or not. Because I do not like this camera at ALL. I was so excited to hand this over to my kid on trips and she was looking forward to it. But when we tested this at the house, the actual photos turn out absolutely horrible. They are dark, there is no detail, its a mess. It was so bad, that I read the instructions multiple times to see what I was missing. And it says that we are supposed to be keep the photo upside down or in a dark place, and that's what we've been doing - but with similar results. The photos are not useful at all, you can see the scene but everything is dull and dark. Look its very possible, that the polaroid requires a lot more care and needs to be in a very dark place post taking the photo, but then that expectation needs to be set at the very beginning. This to me looked like it was being marketed as nostalgic but also convenient, if I need a dark room to develop the photo, that is not convenient. I don't think I have ever put this bad of a review for a product on Best Buy, but I couldn't avoid writing this down.

Having used polaroid cameras for literally decades now, I was interested in the new third generation Polaroid Go. The packaging and instructions/insert were up to normal standards. A strap came with it although I don't generally use them, it is a nice feature. The camera uses it's own 'Go' film which is a bit smaller than the standard size but still looks like a good old fashioned polaroid. I think I may get a new album to fit them in - although they are sized about right for a large phone case. I have a smaller phone, so I'll probably just stay with the tried and true storage. The flash was quite bright but didn't blow out the pictures I took, just be aware it was a bit of a surprise. The camera itself is rather small and easy to store in just about any case, handbag, or most backpacks. There were a couple of features that might be handy - double exposure (not sure how to make that look cool quite yet), and aself-timer which was cool to use. There is a selfie mirror feature that I have not used, but plan on doing so this weekend. Battery life has been good so far, and it says it will last up to 15 packs of film and I don't doubt it. I'm very happy to add this to the polaroid camera collection and the quality of the photos seem to be sharper, certainly more so than my older units. I'd recommend this if you are looking for a compact, retro experience. Especially if you are travelling and need to pack small or light.
