Overall everything has been pretty good with me with this camera and i have taken so many amazing pictures of my girlfriend and I. It is super fun to take of friends too and to let them keep it. Everyone loves the aesthetic it brings. I did have an issue once with taking a picture but nothing would get printed out. Kept doing it until i took out the film and re inserted. First pic was a dud but it worked after. I will say i havent used the app yet but i know I will soon for setting up timers or tweaking it during different lighting because you 100% need the flash in darker environments and with lighter ones it may not matter but the exposure is pretty high. Also, each picture is a good $2 a shot so keep that in mind because thats what will be the biggest expense. For taking pictures, fyi, it is good to immediately put in a dark place and to not shake it.

Amazing camera. Recently I had some trouble with my film getting stuck in it but other than that, it’s been amazing. I’ve taken over 500 pictures with it and everything seems to work fine!

The camera is very reliable even a year after purchase. The photos you can get on a polaroid are truely unlike any other. It will take some time to be able to take good photos but when you do, its all worth it.

I'm of the age group that remembers the 80s Polaroid and having photos taped in my locker. The Polaroid Now Gen 2 camera brings back all of that fun, with some modern upgrades. In the box is the Polaroid camera, USB-C charging cord, quick start paperwork, and wrist strap. Unfortunately, when you purchase this camera, you'll want to buy the I-type film at the same time, as no samples are included. I charged the camera out of the box for an hour prior to using, and have used up two photo cartridges with flash without needing a recharge. As for build, the Polaroid is light weight, with two attachment points for the wrist strap or for better portability go buy a neck strap, which I highly recommend. While the camera is lightweight, it is pure 80s vibe in the boxy build. One note for the 10% of the population that is left handed, this camera is very much for right handers. The view port can be used with your left eye if you don't mind squishing your nose into the back of the camera of holding it a few inches away from your face, otherwise it works fine using your right eye. The photo button is on the right front, power and flash on the right back (facing you), making it impossible to take photos with your left hand, unless you hold the camera upside down and are ok with the print being upside down to the traditional look. The film comes in cartridges of 8, with a protective paper cover. To use, remove the film cartridge from the wrapper, leave the protective paper on, and insert the cartridge. Make sure the camera is powered on, close the film door, and the camera will automatically eject the protective paper. The display will then flash "8" showing you how many photos you have left. To take photos, its literally point and shoot, the camera then will eject the photo under a black cover. The photo will stay in place until you pull it out and flip it over (photo side down) to finish developing. One thing that should be obvious, but I continue to forget is that this is not high res photography. The images are comparable to what you took with the 80s Polaroid camera. A few upgrades from the 80s are that this camera has an internal battery, charged through the included USB-C cable, comes with an autofocus leveraging two different lenses based on conditions, flash, double exposure, and timer. The camera does best outdoors in full sun, but the flash gives enough ambient light that you can still take quality photos from up to ~4' away. The timer allows for group photos, to do so, press the timer button, then hit the photo button, the timer light on the left front will start a count down, and start rapidly blinking just prior to the photo being taken ~9 seconds total time. The double exposure feature was an interesting idea, to turn it on, you press the timer button twice. You will then take a photo as normal, the display will show a 1, then reposition (no time limit that I found) and take a second photo. The camera will superimpose the images, and while it sounds really neat, so far all I've managed to do is turn two cat photos into a frankencat (see photos for example). Although, I'm sure there is all kinds of fun face mixing that can be done with this feature. Overall, enjoy this camera for what it is, a fun experience to be shared with friends. Have instant gratification in getting your photos on demand (after the few minutes of exposure time), have a fun conversation piece, and take it anywhere. This won't be a high res camera that captures all of your important memories, but it will be the fun camera that catches the good times.

This camera is a really fun way to capture memories in physical form! The camera's design is super retro and iconic, something that Polaroid does best, and with a few different color options to choose from, you can make the design uniquely fit your vibe! It is admittedly a bit bulky of a camera compared to several other similar types on the market (due to that iconic retro Polaroid design, thankfully a wrist strap is included in the box though!), but it’s extremely worth it to bring around because it’s a great conversation piece, and you instantly get physical pictures to keep! The camera uses square-shaped i-Type Polaroid film (not included unfortunately), and with it you can take awesome vintage-looking shots and fit plenty of subjects in the photos; the photos won’t be the clearest photos you've ever seen, but they definitely give a special sense of nostalgia that can’t be replicated in any way but through film! Definitely go for i-Type Film over the 600 Film type, because while both are supported by this camera, 600 Film has a battery in the film pack that this camera does not require. Also be prepared to drop some money on the film if you purchase this camera; it’s not the cheapest, but it’s definitely worth it if you value having instantly printed photos and all of the accompanying aesthetics! Other features this camera includes are a shockingly clear viewfinder, autofocus and flash so you can get pictures in any lighting, timer functionality, a dual-exposure mode to merge two shots together on one photo, as well as a built-in USB-C rechargeable battery and an indicator for your remaining photos in your current film pack. If you’re looking for a hip, vintage yet modernized large-film camera, this camera is perfect for you!

This is the latest take in the classic Polaroid camera. I remember the classic (and bulkier) cameras from when I was a kid, and liked in Cambridge, MA while the original Polaroid company still had its iconic headquarters, and still drive by their former manufacturing plant Waltham, MA. This camera is manufactured by a group that lovingly took ownership of one of the original film manufacturing plants in Netherlands and the films that this camera uses are still manufactured there. This camera can use two types of films: The original 600 film (That I believe, works with cameras produced after 1972) and the newest 'i-Type' film that only works on 'Polaroid Originals' and thew new Polaroid cameras. Today, there are mainly two cameras: A professional version with a high-end lens and manual controls, and this which is the consumer version. Within this version, the 'now+' adds phone connectivity, while the rest of the camera is the same. Besides the 'plus' button and slight aesthetics both models are about the same otherwise. The phone connectivity does not transmit any images whatsoever. It remains a purely analog camera. What it does is to add controls that are otherwise found on more advanced cameras: - Remote control: with the camera properly positioned, one can use the phone app as a remote control. - Self-timer: Programmable timer from 1 to 12 seconds, also started from the phone app. - Double exposure: A truly cool effect: Take two different pictures (exposures) on the same film. For example, taking pictures of two different persons, one at a time, on the same picture (ideally separate from each other) - Aperture control: Changing the aperture of the lenses controls the depth giving a blurry background to a focused portrait (like the Bokeh effect). - Tripod mode: This is for long exposure at night. The camera has to be very still for this to work. - Portrait: This is a more automated way of taking the forementioned Bokeh effect (see Aperture control). - Light painting: This is to have fun with night photography, light sources during a long exposure picture. - Manual: Full manual control of aperture and shutter speed, and flash control, which can use five different intensity settings or off. When not using the phone app, the camera is point and shoot, with flash control. There is no need to use the app, ever, if one doesn't want to. This set also comes with a pouch with five filters: Yellow, orange, Blue, red vignette and starburst: The red vignette has an opening in the center and the starburst has a pattern through, which causes light reflections to sparkle. The end result is about the same as in classic Polaroid cameras: Generally soft images, although clearer that old pictures when using the 600 series film. Unlike classic cameras, it has a built-in battery (classic cameras used disposable batteries that were part of the film. The i-series films do not have batteries. Because it's a new model, it recharges using USB-C (Cable included) and uses the same wall-charger from a phone. I used my laptop charger. The battery is expected to last about 16 cartridges (8 pictures per cartridge) between charges. Overall it's a great fun camera, definitely retro. Pictures take about 15 minutes to develop. It's recommended to keep the images in the dark until the chemical process completes. It's also great that it's fully analog and so private with no electronic image sensors (It has a light sensor, not an image sensor). One drawback is that the aperture is based on the light sensor, one has to re-learn when to use the flash, and how to control aperture (via the app) as a portrait can appear with a dark background. Particularly when using flash for a portrait, outdoors. This adds to the charm of analog images, but takes some practice, and some amount of film. In my estimation, each picture ends up costing US $ 1.6 in firm costs. Each film cartridge holds 8 pictures.

This is a fun camera for those who want an instant print camera. The design really takes from the classic Polaroid camera, which my family had one long long time ago when I was a kid. It’s probably as large as the classic one so this camera is surely not a compact one. It takes i-Type film or 600 film. This camera is solidly built. There’s a strap that you can attach so that you won’t easily drop the camera when using it. The camera is charged through its USB-C port so that is really convenient for me because these days I use USB-C cables and ports almost exclusively. The camera’s main highlight is the classic Polaroid instant film magic. Just snap a shot, let it settle for about 15 minutes then enjoy the instant result. It works well with the 600 film and the color profile seems typical to this kind of film. Everything is pretty much automated, which is convenient. However, for those who likes to get more control such as fiddling with exposure setting, this camera doesn’t provide you with the option. There is a double exposure feature in which you can combine two images in one photo. There’s also a self-timer button, which is really useful for taking picture in the group. Now onto the camera’s performance. This camera features autofocus 2-lens system, which I don’t find problems with. Picture looks okay and we should know what to expect when we buy this kind of camera anyway. Image quality doesn’t feel so much different than what I had seen some decades ago with Polaroid instant camera, which I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. But picture looks sharp enough. However, print results had a bit of over exposure, which I don’t have any control of when taking the picture. I still like the camera for its unique capability, nevertheless. It’s a fun camera to bring when out and about with the family and taking a quick snap of memory, which can last for decades.

We got this Polaroid camera because it is fun for the entire family, recently in Halloween we gave pictures away to everyone who wanted them and it was everyone. When the camera arrived, it is a fun looking box, I like the presentation and the camera looks simple yet elegant. It is retro looking with the benefits of the new features. The box comes with a strap, USB-C cable and instructions. The camera has autofocus, it uses two lenses and chooses one to take awesome pictures, so there is no need to do anything but just point and shoot. The double exposure makes the pictures look great. We like the self-timer, just place it somewhere to take the picture, set the timer and done. I like that the camera is made with 40 percent of recycled materials and it also comes with an internal battery so no more batteries or cartridges with batteries are thrown away. The flash is soft yet it brings plenty of light so the pictures look great. The camera uses the Polaroid 600 film so have plenty on hand because we used it right away. Overall it is a lot of fun for everyone, it is not our first Polaroid and I am certain it will not be our last.
