I bought this to give as a gift for my brother, and he really likes it. I think this product has great sound for the price and makes a great gift.

Got it on sale and definitely can't expect much from that price. Does work well and using as additional speaker to monitor. Good enough for small jobs.

I bought this speaker a little over six months ago, and since then I have bought quite a few others because I liked the price and thought it would be a really good gift to give my family members. This particular one, though, has stopped being able to charge. I don't know why. Now I'm disappointed, and I hope the others I bought don't come up with the same problem; otherwise I was happy with the performance of it... when it charged.

Got this last Nov 20 and was thinking of giving it as a gift since I have JBL Charge 3. Turned out that I don't have anyone to give this and just tried to use it this April 28 and found out it doesn't charge. No Red Light(charging indicator) Tried 3 cables aside from the included one Tried to charge it using power bank, laptop and wall charger Tried the reset button Tried to charge it (Off and On mode) Good thing I didn't give this defective speaker as a gift.

Here's the deal, I went through a million other speaker reviews till I ended up on this speaker, with zero reviews. But that meant I wasn't reading a review that was bought with cheap or free items. I trusted the name, and I took the risk. Here are my thoughts: Sound: If you are worried about bass, this has it. I played Love Lockdown, and it kicks. I mean, it KICKS. It has some serious bass on this thing. It was super surprising to me how hard it kicked, like Pele in the Euro Cup hard. However, it lacks a little with the highs, but it is still able to get there, just not as well as the bass. I imagine it is perfect if you only want to use it for R&B style music, but it is still fantastic for everything else. It is loud. Even with the treble. It'll get some attention, but you aren't using it as your speaker at the next party you DJ. Size: It isn't exactly pocket sized, but it is not throw it on your shoulder big either. It is light-ish, and is super easy for me to take places, and for that, I let it keep it's 5 star, because it is small enough to carry around, and be portable, but not small enough to where it feels weak. I don't know, it's preference, and mine is in a little bit beefier of a speaker. You don't need a gym membership to lift it, but you need to be a little bit stronger than SpongeBob with his stuffed animal weights. It's like maybe 2-3 pounds. It probably says it, so just go use that if you really care still. Style: I mean, it's Black, and a speaker. I don't know, I guess it is cool looking. I haven't exactly really cared about style, but it looks good, and with the rubber, it feels pretty cool too. Whatever, look at the picture, it is exactly what it looks like. This section is just so I cover all the bases of this speaker. Oh, wait! Snap, I forgot, it has a little blue LED on it, when it is connected, and it flashes when it is trying to connect. I like it. It isn't blinding, but it makes it just a little bit cooler. Great little detail about it. If you care, ask for a picture, but as I said, the picture on Amazon is literally it. Buttons and Everything Else: Alright, I read some reviews on other speakers where people complained about the speaker making a loud noise when turned on and off, and pressing the volume buttons. This one does that. But it isn't blaring loud. I kinda like it, it is pleasant. But hey, if you want a stealth speaker for some crazy reason, know that this one doesn't have it's black belt yet. Oh, and the Bluetooth connect makes a noise, so, note that. The power bank is nice, it does its job, and is a bonus because I didn't even read that it did that, so, win for me I guess. Oh, and the aux port is convenient, because I can use it with my laptop too. Pros: Bass Charging Bank Style (I guess) Clear sound Cons: None Go for it, it's pretty legit.

I had been doing a lot of work on my car in the garage and found that I wanted more sound than my little phone speakers. I borrowed my dads little bluetooth speaker and it did a good enough job so I watched out for a good price on one for myself. This one came up on sale for about $15 around the holidays and had good reviews so I gave it a shot. I was very surprised how heavy and solid it felt. It has a plastic back and a metal face but I'm guessing the speakers have decent sized magnets. It just a surprising feel of quality given the price because of the weight and construction. For $15 I was honestly expecting it to feel light and cheap. It connected to my iPhone 6 very easily. It shows up in your device list as a bunch of letters and numbers which isnt as nice as being prelabeled "Insignia BT" or something. If you have a couple randomly named devices in your bluetooth list just remember which one this is. It's not going to sound as nice as $150 Bose speaker but for $15 I was amazed at the quality. I pretty much use it for two things: Audiobooks and Hard Rock. With the audiobooks I found the voices sounded pretty natural. The highs were not harsh so you could turn it up if you needed to and it has enough mids and lows that male voices sound full. For rock it was pretty similar. I wasnt feeling double bass pedals in my chest, haha, but having it in the garage as I worked on my car I didnt feel like I was missing out on too much considering the ease of using the speaker, its size, and price. You can control the volume on either the phone or the speaker which is nice and if the speaker doesnt sense a signal for a little while it will shut itself off to save battery. A battery which seems to last quite a while anyway. I let my mom borrow it once to listen to my favorite audiobook, Ready Player One (dont watch the movie, read or listen to the book!) and she was so impressed by it that she asked me to get her one for christmas. No lie. In conclusion, if you are looking for an audiophile grade speaker or even a large speaker for like parties or events than this is not what you want. But if you find yourself in situations where you would normal just play music off of your phone and you want more and better sound, then definitely give this a shot.

bought a couple of these for my chromecasts & they sound really good. not tinny & only just a bit too bassy. otherwise, easy to use & great sound. I leave it powered on until it emits some friendly reminder beeps that it needs to be charged, which takes about 3-4 days before that happens. that might be because it's size/weight is due probably to its battery (it's pretty heavy/sturdy - doesn't feel cheap/hollow). rubberized bottom. rubbery feel all around too. it is room filling sound. stereo speakers on this sound better than a single speaker Bluetooth puck. it was a bargain at $10 for refurb/promo.

I was looking for a small, wireless speaker to use when working from home and found this one on sale at a really great price. The sound quality is good for indoor use, though I recommend not leaving it in a separate room. I liked how easy it is to set up and use. Plus, it's pretty lightweight and sturdy. Overall there are better speakers available but at a much higher price. This speaker is perfect for the price, works great in a home office, dorm or when working out at home and won't break the bank.

Easy setup, decent sound quality, good battery life, doesn’t take up much room, has a decent heft to it so doesn’t feel cheap. Great value for a $10 price tag. Needs to be within a few meters of the device it’s connected to and the charging cord that comes with it is very short (I own longer cords so it wasn’t an issue), but otherwise very satisfied with my purchase.

Great buy for the money! Insignia vs. Jawbone

I just bought this Insignia and also a Jawbone Mini Jambox. I put them both side by side and played same song from same phone linking to them back and forth. They both sounded great, slightly different in tone/treble/frequency but still very close. I would think of it like they were preprogrammed with different equilizer settings. One not necessarily one better than the other, just slightly different. This Insignia box has a great price point during the Christmas holiday season at $12.99 and I found the Jawbone Mini Jambox at $34,99 on a Deal of the Day special. One nice benefit the Jawbone has over this one is that one Jawbone can link to another Jawbone during playback resulting in two of these units playing over one bluetooth audio link. This Insignia can't do that. The Jawbone is also slightly slimmer, less than 1 inch thick so it is even more travel friendly. Both of these units make for easy packing in a purse or suitcase, but I could even put the Jawbone in my pocket and it feels about like a phone. Nice to have a beach or hotel room. Sounds much better than a pencil eraser sized speaker of a cell phone. Both have about 8 hour battery life claim.

I was walking around Best Buy looking for bargains and came across a display and BB was selling this speaker for $10. Sold! I took it home and I didn't even need to charge the battery before using it. It was a snap connecting to my iPhone. I tried some music using my Pandora app and the sound quality, for a speaker this compact, was very good and loud enough to be heard during a get together I had. Volume is adjustable and there is a convenient button for answering phone calls if you happen to be using it in the car, although I haven't tried that yet. The build quality is good, it's a nice looking speaker, and seems quite hefty for the size. You do have an option of connecting by a standard audio cable for connecting a non-bluetooth audio device such as an iPod. For the money, this was a real bargain.

We purchased this Insignia Portable Wireless Speaker - Red (NS-CSPBTHOL16-R) for my sister for Christmas and she liked it. If you get it on sale ($9.99 or $12.99), it seems like a good value. The sound is decent for the price, and it is fairly small and runs on an internal rechargeable battery. It is just a speaker, not a radio, so it needs an external audio source to play. You can achieve this by connecting a device to it wirelessly via Bluetooth, or you can connect your device's 1/8-inch headphone out jack to the aux. input jack on this speaker via a cord. My sister liked that this speaker can also serve as a speakerphone for her cell phone via the Bluetooth connection. All in all, it's a nice, inexpensive speaker.

We have purchased the previous model of these speakers and love them for their sound and size. They're not too bulky. This new model is a little heavier which is good because you feel like you've got a better built speaker but the new ones don't have the rubberized exterior. They do have a woven style grip in the plastic on the backs which helps. Good sound and quite loud. We buy these every time they are on sale and give them for gifts and also have them in multiple rooms in the house. Great little speakers!! My 8 year old ha no problems picking one up and linking it to whatever device she's using at the time. User friendly

The Insiginia portable blue tooth speaker works well in that it paired easily and I haven't experienced drop-outs but I haven't tested the range. In normal distance of 20 feet no problems. The speaker is very portable and easily carried to a backyard, a friend's house, etc. Sound quality is better than expected - not saying great. For the price this is a very nice purchase if you have a use for it. At the price this is at, even if you use it once in a great while, it is worth the purchase.

Better than other speakers in this price range. Has more than just a single speaker, giving more clarity in both highs and lows. Bluetooth connectivity works great and was easy to set up. Also, has an 1/8 plug input if you need that, and the battery seems to last forever using it that way. Use it in an office setting, providing a good sound while not blasting out others. Also tried it for tracks to play guitar along with, so it has some volume.

Best Bluetooth Speaker for the Price

I was looking to use a rewards certificate that was expiring and this speaker was on sale, so I decided to give it a shot and was I impressed! I regularly use a Bose Soundlnk Mini II as my primary bluetooth speaker but I found it was too big and heavy to bring when traveling and have been using an older Logitech Mini Boom Box for it's portability as a speaker for music and speaker phone at hotels, but carrying a mini usb just to charge that device was annoying. The Insignia Portable Wireless speaker has replaced the Logitech. The Insignia speaker has richer sound, gets louder, charges with a more universal micro USB cable, and the speakerphone works well. I liked it so much I even bought an extra one as backup. It's no Bose, but at a fraction of the price, it's really good and you likely can't find anything as portable and decent sounding at that price (especially if on sale). Pros: price, loudness, speakerphone, charges by micro usb, portability Cons: frequency range is limited (especially bass, but expected for size), no accessories available (like cases) Can't go wrong with this product for the price.

I love this little speaker, the sound quality is top notch for the price. I bought one for me and another as a gift. I love the battery life, the sound quality, the portability, just about everything. It does have a couple drawbacks; range is not very long, specially between rooms; and it skips every now and then. Not very tidious, just notice them sometimes. But I paid $14 for it, it's better than I could hope for.

I really enjoy this speaker. The battery life is great, I've gotten upwards of 10 hrs playback on a single charge. The sound is pretty decent for the price. It doesn't have a lot of bass but it does get pretty loud and doesn't distort at higher volumes. I got it on sale for $9.99 so well worth that price. Oh it also has a mic built in so you can take calls on it and that works pretty well also.
