The Razer Blade 15 is an excellent laptop for whatever you choose to use it for. I have had a number of premium laptops from various major manufacturers and this is hands down the best laptop I have used for several reasons. First, the build quality is outstanding. The solid aluminum construction is not only gorgeous to look at, it feels very premium and makes the whole laptop very ridged and sturdy. Second, the performance is just outstanding. I have built a number of high-end gaming desktops recently and this machine's performance has just blown my mind with how it keeps up with them. Its fast, responsive, and quiet. I keep saying to myself, "this is a laptop?" Now, the cpu’s 6 cores and 12 threads aren’t going to blow your mind compared to newer mobile AMD Ryzen processors with 8 cores 16 threads for process heavy tasks, but that's not what this laptop is for, it's for gaming and fact is Intel is the gaming cpu of choice! Paired with a 2070 Max Q at 1080p, it's more than enough to get and stay above 144 frames a second in AAA games and every single game I have tried on it. Which leads me to point three, the screen is brilliant, vibrant, and just plain pops! Games, movies, and photos look outstanding! The high refresh rate is so smooth and easy on the eyes. It’s a joy to look at and just the right size for gaming on the go…or at home on the couch. Other things I like are the speakers, they have full sound and have a ton of volume, especially compared to other laptops out there. The keyboard feels good, not mushy and the programmable RGB looks great and can easily be turned off when not needed or to extend battery life.
So, there are a few negatives. 512GB SSD for this price should have been a 1TB or even a 2TB. With gaming services, this isn't a deal breaker as it means I can have 2-3 new titles installed at a time, but I'm already looking at 2TB SSDs to upgrade. 16GB of ram isn't 32gb but again, has not been an issue and easy to upgrade if needed later on. Next, the machine does run a bit hot. With a Core i7 and a 2070, it's going to put out some heat and this laptop is thin and light, so the rest goes into that beautiful machined aluminum frame. So, the wrist rests can get warm and the area in the middle where the display hinges gets downright hot. But at the same time, it’s not untouchable and where the fans sit (below the keys you use for gaming) it is super cool. Considering the amount of cooling taking place, this thing is quiet. It is not silent, but compared to my work laptop, it might as well be. Sitting next to each other, you can hear this one when the work laptop is on....and it is a high-end business laptop from a major manufacturer. I also have some concerns about battery life when comparing to the new Ryzen based laptops that are reportedly getting 8 hours. While gaming it has not lasted very long, a couple hours tops…but then again, I was gaming and she was running at full tilt. But to see a more balanced approach, I did a battery test where I steamed a movie from a movie service online and then looped a business application benchmark (that also has a light game test) and she went 5 1/2 hours before I got a warning to plug it in! I even did that with the power slider on the side of performance rather than longer life. It's not insane but I'm happy with this result. Lastly, this is not an inexpensive machine, but you know that already if you are reading this. It is right up there with pro laptops from a fruit vendor, which I also have. Quality is comparable and while I prefer the interface of the fruit operating system, fact is Windows 10 has done wonders in catching up and you just can’t game with the other brand laptop….at least with anything you want to. Bottom line, Is it worth it? I believe it is great value for what you are getting, so yes. Can you find other machines with similar performance for less, yes but you trade off on the looks and quality construction. So, that is really up to you. But the short version is if you want performance in a stylish package, stop looking and hit the buy button.

This laptop is great for people who want a gaming machine that is portable. I am a college student and would definitely recommend the blade 15. I do all my work and also play games for long hours. works great for me. Deffinetly reccomend getting the 2019 advanced model for a better price and better cooling than the 2020 base model as not much is difference in terms of performance. A bit thicker than expected it's like the size of 1 and a half MacBook pros.

This is a thing of beauty. The build quality is the best of any windows laptop. The keyboard is very responsive and the lightning is very customizable. I got a great deal with this laptop and would definitely recommend. I was split between this and the gs66. I've owned the AW17R4, gs65, ge raider 65, razer blade pro, and razer blade stealth in the past, all good systems, however, the only one that made me switch from my RBP17 was the new razer blade mercury edition. Else I would have stayed with my razer blade pro.

I'm upgrading from a 4 year old Thinkpad with a dual-core i7 and integrated GPU to this BEAST of a computer with the hexa-core i7 and 2070Max-Q. Needless to say, it's wicked powerful. I've only played a few rounds of Fortnite but it's already night and day difference. I can play on my 1400p monitor at max settings and it looks so great. The color is really premium and great looking, the 144hz display is sick, and the ease of upgrading means this should last me even more than the 4 years I had my last laptop.

I sold my desktop specifically so I could have a gaming machine and portable work machine all in one. Utilizing a simple thunderbolt dock setup, I can easily attach my monitors, keyboard, mouse, RGB lighting, external hard drives, and have a flawless desktop experience with almost no compromises(other than thermals of course) but I have never been more satisfied. Its seriously unbelievable how convenient it is to unplug a cable and take my entire desktop experience with me, wherever I need to go. Love it Razer.
*P.S. The build quality is unrivaled by any windows laptop to date, hands down, no question.

I've had my laptop for 2 months now and have been very happy with it. It's been able to handle any game I throw at it even on a 1440p monitor. For most games, I get over 100fps on high-max settings.
My two minor complaints are that the laptop runs hotter than I'm used to (which has improved with a cooling pad) and that the screws to remove the bottom panel are cheap and strip easily. Doesn't help that the screws are on very tight. Had to use a screw extraction tool to get it out.
Otherwise, this is the most minimal and well built gaming laptop I was able to find. I use a 2019 Macbook Pro for work and this is on par with that. Chroma RGB color syncs with my other Razer products is the icing on top.

This laptop plays everything I throw at it on Ultra smoothly. The only complaint I have is in regards to quality control, other reviewers previously mentioned that this Laptop from Razer may be prone to backlight bleed. I had to return a unit, and have it replaced because the backlight bleed was noticeable when playing dark games or in loading titles with a black screen. After replacing the purplish offset glow/bleed is gone. Overall great laptop, it’s sleek and portable. However it’s battery life is expectedly poor, and it run’s hot. Besides that there is nothing I can really complain about it.

Was looking for a portable computer I could game on and this really hit the mark! (so far at least)
Able to play on ultra high settings with no lag, high fps and beautiful displays. Only thing I'd comment is the computer itself can get a bit hot when playing games for a while. But what do you expect from such a thin powerful laptop? Default settings doesn't turn the fan on high at all, even while gaming. Probably to keep it quiet but I don't mind manually turning it up and having the noise as long as it's cooling off better.
Heat is easily manageable with a cooling pad or undervolting.
For everything other than gaming this computer is ultra fast, doesn't get hot, and is quiet.

I was looking for a laptop to use for work and to game on. I was considering the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, however, saw that this Razer model was on sale. The laptop has exceeded expectations. The screen is my favorite feature and was amazingly surprised. The screen is sharp for a 1080p with deep blacks and accurate colors. I have not noticed any light bleed. Gaming performance has been excellent as well and the RTX 2070 MQ outshines my older desktop GTX1070 FTW, especially with reflections. The laptop does get a little hot while gaming so might consider a cooler, or just remember to have it on a good surface for airflow. Note: while under normal load the laptop stays cool. Battery life is okay while doing everyday tasks such as email, word, ect... I would say expect around 6 hours, and I would not recommend gaming when not connected to power. The speakers are decent and the glass trackpad is smooth. My only complaint is the keyboard where I can see that it will take some getting used to. I find it hard to type fast and the feel isn't the greatest, but doable. Definitely pick this up when on-sale if you're looking for a Macbook quality gaming laptop. I also recommend adding the protection plan just in case the heat becomes an issue later on.

Pros: Build quality, performance, off charger heat, gaming performance, upgradibility, mercury white color.
The build quality is what you would expect from Razer. Solid and never feel like you are going to break it. Performance is also what you expect. Fast while staying cool (when off the charger). Multitasking is not an issue. If you feel like the laptop doesn't meet your multitasking needs, it is very easy to upgrade the RAM. Lastly, the mercury white makes the laptop look professional so you do not have to worry about bringing it to meetings or school.
Cons: Heat while charging, battery life, and price.
The laptop kicks into a higher gear while plugged in so it can get hot. If you are running more intensive programs do not expect the battery life to last (<2 hours). If you are simply note taking, you can expect ~4 hours. As you know, the laptop is expensive. Is it worth it? Probably not to most. But if you can comfortably afford it, then i recommend.

This is a pretty great Laptop. The build quality is unlike any other laptop out there. I think the only other laptop with a similar or better build is the Asus M15 or the G14. I have seen it lag here and there and I think it's because of the SSD personally. May be wrong though. Nothing too major to make me want to return it. Just take an extra moment to wake up. But when it does, it's pretty perfect. Not loud as Razer doesn't allow it to get too loud. It runs VR on it fine and plays just about everything I've tried to play on it(warzone, COD Cold war, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Halo Master Cheif Collection) on high or ultra settings with no issues. It does get a bit hot on the keyboard when playing though. I had been returning and tying out new laptops for like 3 months straight till I got this one. Really stayed with it because I found it for $971 and although it's missing a 1TB hdd, knowing you normally can't get this laptop for less than $1700 as a "deal" sold it to me. Otherwise, I most likely would have stayed with the M15 or picked up a newer G15 with the 3070 GPU in it. The keyboard is pretty great. Especially the RGB. There is literally nothing in the market like it. I am not sure about the black version but the mercury white one I have does get dirty pretty easily so be aware. If you can get this laptop for less than 1100, do it. You won't regret it.

I love this machine. Not only is it sleek and beautiful with its silver and white design, but it also doesn't screaming "Gaming Laptop" like many other gaming laptops similarly priced do.
Just understand that this device WILL get hot while gaming. There's no way around this, and unless you get yourself a massive 8 pound machine, any slim and light gaming laptop will get hot and loud. I'd just recommend undervolting this device using ThrottleStop to maximize performance.
Honestly, I have no complaints so far. I only had a couple BSOD with this laptop since I've owned it (and these likely came from me initially undervolting the laptop too much). I would say if you want a gaming laptop that looks great and performs well with fantastic build quality, this is a great pick-up.
However, if you DON'T care about design, then I'd highly recommend purchasing a gaming machine from another brand as you'd save yourself at least a couple hundred dollars with similar specs.
Also, BUY THE BEST BUY 3 YEAR WARRANTY! Gaming laptops are notorious for breaking down earlier compared to ultrabooks due to the highly powerful components that they stick into these. So if you want to ensure there will be no issues going forward, then please get the warranty. It is well worth it.

Bought it for premium build, gaming capabilities, and ultrabook-esque look. Hasn't disappointed. Doesn't overheat. Great FPS in games. Undervolts fine. Didn't get a faulty model even with the Refurbished - Certified which seemed like a great option. Only thing to be aware if you buy Refurbished is that they don't price match that if the price falls later.

This is my first Razer product and love it. I use it for both gaming and work. Upgraded from a dell gaming laptop that was a few years old. I needed something slim and more mobile. This fit the bill perfectly. The quality is top notch and premium, well worth the price for what you get. I haven’t had any issues so far and it has been a workhorse, I use it to edit photos via adobe photoshop, 16gb ram is good but I do plan on throwing 32gb in there soon. Storage is fast but not much. I use an external SSD for games and certain files. Battery is also good, lasts me about 4-5 hours doing document editing, watch YouTube and browsing. While gaming, well I don’t game on battery I imagine at max settings it’ll last about 1-2 hours specially when the fans decide to kick in. Fans do get loud when it begins to work, that thin of a machine will produce heat and the fans do help but after monitoring my temperatures I decided to buy a laptop stand to raise the back up a bit to help airflow and it did work. I’ll see how it holds up over time but for now it is an amazing laptop and looks sleek, I love how it doesn’t scream gaming laptop.

- Design: exterior and internal design is clean and minimalistic. customizable RGB keyboard is also a plus (great colors and pattern options)
- Screen Performance: Great color accuracy and vibrancy, which is for gamers and designers. Fps is wonderful, no lag or screen tearing issues.
- Performance: Can run multiple programs without any issues. Computer can get pretty warm/hot, but can be resolved or lessened through changes in settings.
- Sound: no issues in connecting and using multiple devices connected to laptop. Great sound quality.
- Keyboard: great keyboard feedback. keyboard travel distance is not a problem.
Overall, great product for the value. Would recommend 10/10.

This is a strange purchase, because it's a premium brand, and the build quality reflects that. However, they have driver issues that were a bit of a hassle to fix, and the open box version I got didn't have an activated version of windows. (That's okay for the discount I got). But the main thing was that if you have the wrong graphics drivers, it drains the battery. You shouldn't use the graphics drivers from the nvidia website. What you should do is basically uninstall all graphics drivers, then just restart and let windows put the drivers in for you. Also set your fan to auto, or else it sounds like an airplane all the time. Also, if you update your bios, you lose the ability to use throttlestop, so don't do that.

I've had this for about a week now, and I've been using it for GIS mostly, and some light gaming. I wanted a laptop that could handle CPU intensive tasks but also had a good GPU for the eventual programs that I will use in my professional life requiring such hardware.
I have to say I'm impressed. I've done about 6 months worth of research into replacing my 4 year old machine I was working with, and I consistently came back to the Blade series because of the 1. build quality, 2. the cooling solutions, and 3. CPU power.
Now while it is true that you can find a laptop of similar quality at a lower price, I do think the Blade wins out in most categories for several reasons. Firstly, I believe this machine can accomplish nearly any productivity task I can throw at it. On my old machines, the programs I would use (ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro) would sometimes struggle with completing certain tasks, slowing down the machine and ramping up the fans due to the heat. Not with this laptop. This thing can dominate any of these tasks at an astonishing rate, something I am so happy with. I also have to be mobile, so the fact that this thing is a little heavy does kind of bother me, its still far more portable than almost any other machine in its weight class (so to speak). I have full confidence that this laptop can do what I need it to do when I need it to.
1. The build quality is solid, I have no worries about flex or breakage from my hauling it around, which is good.
2. The cooling solution as mentioned before is amazing. When I know I will be throwing a big load at the CPU, I manually adjust the fans and this thing stays super cool to the touch, though on Auto, the chassis does get warm, I do want that to be noted, but from my tests, it hasn't gotten over 70 C.
3. The powerful CPU in mine (9th Gen i7) is a dream to work with. I have no worries ever that it can't accomplish the tasks I need it to, and thus far, even some 3D renders I've done have been really quick and look amazing. I'm no expert in this market of technology, but I have no worries that this laptop can deal with any serious tasks that may be out there for people who need a good productivity machine but dont want a full desktop.
I did get this Certified Used through Best Buy here, and it was at a 700 dollar discount (at least I think from its original price) and its been working like a dream so far. We will see how it holds up over time, but I am confident in it't potential longevity.
The only problem I do have is the keyboard. I'm just so used to Lenovo keyboards that its going to take time for me to adjust, but the keys are 'mushy' I suppose. I think that's kind of minor in comparison to the other great aspects of the machine, and I'm sure that it's something I will learn to love as time goes on. I just make alot of errors right now with typing reports. But honestly, they are still nice and responsive so it could be so much worse.
Last thing is the screen. I went from a 1440p screen to this FHD (1920 x 1080) and honestly, I love this screen more. I thought it would be a rough transition, but I can honestly say that its crisp and the colors are accurate. It's an absolute joy to look at, so my fears have be waylaid in that department.
All in all, so far, this is a solid 5 star machine for me. I am so happy I spent the money I saved up on this instead of a different laptop brand. This thing has lived up to every expectation in my department. If you are looking for a Productivity machine, I highly recommend it.
