Customers commend the PODMIC Dynamic Podcasting Microphone for its outstanding sound quality and reasonable price. Many appreciate its ease of use, built-in pop filter, and compact size, making it suitable for smaller setups. However, some find its weight to be a drawback. Additionally, a few customers have noted that it requires an XLR cable, not USB.

Just started a podcast on a budget, I was looking for something nice, good looking but great quality. I review al decent XLR mics but in the range of quality this podmic was the only option but it was hard to get so I decided to take something else on the streamers list, thank God I couldnt get the transaction ready, then this Bestbuy email lead me to the webpage and it was there, only 3 available so I got 2 of them. I've recorded now 4 chapters, sounds as expected(high expectations), has solid construction, it's sturdy, fit my needs on a budget, I bought 2, for the price of 1 for other known quality brands or higher resolution, I'm satisfied with my purchase, it looks pretty professional and it's build to last. I'm thinking of buying a new pair to get more guests so i'm going to buy the same for the standard looking, standard configuration and standard sound quality. I'm happy and I know I can trust this RODE-Podmic

The Rode PodMic is a dynamic microphone that sets a new standard for broadcast-quality audio at an affordable price point. As an avid podcaster and content creator, I was looking for a microphone that would deliver exceptional sound reproduction without breaking the bank, and the Rode PodMic exceeded my expectations in every way.
First and foremost, the build quality of the PodMic is outstanding. It features a solid, all-metal construction that feels robust and durable. The microphone has a sleek and modern design, with a matte black finish that gives it a professional and premium look. It also comes with an integrated swivel mount, making it easy to position and adjust according to your needs.
When it comes to sound performance, the Rode PodMic truly shines. Its dynamic capsule is specifically tailored for speech applications, capturing clear and crisp vocals with excellent detail and minimal background noise. Whether you're recording a podcast, voiceover work, or even live streaming, the PodMic delivers rich and balanced sound that brings your voice to life.
One standout feature of the PodMic is its built-in pop filter. This integrated windscreen effectively reduces plosive sounds and sibilance, resulting in a cleaner audio recording. It's a thoughtful addition that saves you the hassle of buying and attaching a separate pop filter.
Another aspect worth mentioning is the microphone's versatility. It is optimized for use with the RodeCaster Pro podcast production studio, but it can also be used with other audio interfaces or mixers. This flexibility allows you to integrate the PodMic into your existing setup effortlessly.
Overall, the Rode PodMic is a game-changer for those seeking a high-quality dynamic microphone at an affordable price. Rode has once again demonstrated its commitment to delivering exceptional audio equipment. With its impeccable build quality, exceptional sound performance, and thoughtful design features, the PodMic is a fantastic investment for podcasters, broadcasters, and content creators alike. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in search of professional-grade audio without breaking the bank.

The combination I have of the Rode Pod Microphone and the GO XLR is truly amazing. There are so many microphone options on the market and the Rode Pod mic has got to be the best one out there. The Rode Pod Microphone is known for its superior sound quality and durability, making it a top choice for podcasters, streamers, and content creators. Its compact size and sleek design make it easy to set up and use in any recording environment. When paired with the GO XLR, a powerful audio interface and mixer, the capabilities of the Rode Pod Microphone are taken to the next level. The GO XLR provides an array of features, including a built-in EQ, compressor, and sampler, allowing users to fine-tune their audio to perfection. But the Microphone is perfect with a Normal CLR interface!

The perfect podcasting and streaming microphone

For streaming and podcasting, many newcomers tend to eye the much more expensive Shure SM7B--if only to emulate their favorite content creators. While that is a tremendously high-quality microphone, it's intended to be used for professional recording studios. Therefore it's priced at $399/499, and with that it gives you the widest range possible in a recording device.
For a quarter of that price, the Rode Podmic broke out into the scene in mid-2019 to shake up the dynamic microphone market and it's taken it completely by storm. For many content creators, the Podmic hits well above its weight class.
Like all XLR microphones, the Podmic needs to be plugged into an accompanying audio mixer. Rode offers their own with the Rodecaster Pro, which has settings specifically tailored for the Podmic. I use a GoXLR, which is specifically made for content production and therefore has sufficient levels of gain to be able to drive the Podmic. EQ doesn't need to be changed much but that depends entirely on your vocal range. By default it already sounds natural.
I was at first not too keen on how short and stout it looked when placed in front of me but that lack of length actually benefits my setup. There's no concern of accidentally hitting the bottom of the microphone if I move my arm across underneath it in order to access my keyboard or if I need to use my right hand for anything other than the mouse.
So if you're looking for a great microphone for streaming, honestly look no further. Not only does the microphone look great with any setup, its weight will make it suitable for use on any microphone stand--even the Blue Compass, which has notoriously high tension. If you really do want the Shure SM7B, use this microphone as a stepping stone towards that goal for the best audio at this price right out the gate. You might end up using this for way longer and you'll more than likely forget about spending $399 on a microphone that might not provide much more than this little beast does.

My active mic was good, but it was time to upgrade to a dynamic one, the Røde was one of the best value for the price options I could find. It sounds great, and with the mic arm, its easy to move it into position, or get it out of the way.

This microphone is absolutely amazing. What a stand out compared to other mics. If you’re doing podcasts, content or even voice over, this mic is great for those. Especially if you don’t necessarily have a treated room. This eliminates (most) background noise from your recordings. It’s great! And the price makes it better

I bought 4 Rode Podmics for my podcast I'm gonna kick off. I bought this along with the Rodecaster Pro (a must have!) This microphones has such an amazing quality in sound. The rodecaster pro has a feature that gives you that Joe Rogan sound and mutes all the outside noises. Happy with these mics. I almost spent 400 per microphone... I'm so glad I didn't.

Quality XLR mic with a hefty weight to it. If you want something that has love and craft put into it, and a great podcasting microphone, get this mic. I’ve been using it recently and I cannot recommend it enough.

Exactly what I needed! Mic has a great sound plugged into my Focusrite Scarlet Solo. I will say my gain is turned up more than I’d like and I do recommend using a preamp as well like “cloudlifter”. Mic is heavy so make sure your mic arm is sturdy or it will likely drop down a lot. Perfect mic for podcasts or streaming.

The Rode - PodMic works really great and itis affordable. The settings were already pre-built in my RodeCaster Pro Audio Mixer.
As a teacher, I really needed to make sure that my students can hear me clearly and properly while learning remotely. Making lessons really engaging is my number one priority for our kids.

Look no further than this mic, it’s got great sound quality and is really smooth sounding. You will need a decent audio interface to get the best out of it (I don’t lol). I have a ton of noise and fan sounds in my room so to combat it I used Nvidia broadcast. After that it’s great, but if I didn’t use it my mic would be really noisy and hissing. The build quality is amazing, it’s super heavy and reassuring (you’ll need a good mic arm). Overall solid product.

Dynamic mics are a little to get used to, but this mic has to be one of the best. Sounds great with pretty much any setup, but theres a reason you see so many set ups with the Rodecaster Pro 2, which is amazing for every audio set up. This is probably the only mic I will ever use from now on. A great purchase.

An absolutely amazing product, I'd give it 5 stars. Though I have to take one off due to it only having the mic and no additional cables. For people who already have an interest or small hobbies that require a good mic it's not an issue. But for those who just buy it and think it has all the parts for instant use, just remember to get a xlr cable.
