I purchased the S8 based on the good reviews I read for the S8+ and S8 Pro Ultra. We don't need self emptying, so the S8 was a good buy at $350. This is our first robot vacuum and overall it does a good job. We have mostly tile. It was easy to set up and get started. It picks up all the little stuff and most pet hair. I am pleased that our bare feet don't step on little crumbs and dirt anymore. Where it stumbles is on the long thin hair of our lab mix dog. It gets wrapped up on the axles of the rubber brushes and shuts down the machine. I initially set it up to run 3x per week. This was too much hair and the machine shut down (see pics). Changed to 5x per week so less chance of brushes getting stuck. Still have to remove hair wrapped around axles every day after cleaning to prevent from shutting down. Do I return it? Well, after purchasing this, I did a deeper search for robot vacuums that are good with long, thin pet hair. What I am finding is that none of them are good at it. I like the rubber brushes because the hair is easy to remove at the axles even though I have to do it after every cleaning. The other models out there that claimed to be good with pet hair have rotating bristle brushes (think old fashioned upright vacuum) which presents its own problems. Hair gets stuck on bristles that extend the frequency of cleaning, but getting hair off bristles is a PITA. I have not used the mopping feature yet, but will comment on it later. I've decided to keep the S8 and run it more often and clean it after each run.

Very pleased. Vacuumed a week ago with traditional vacuum. Roborock S8 = 1st & 2nd pics after vinyl kitchen & high-pile carpet living room vacuum. 3rd pic canister of regular vacuum showing what was remaining. Have long hair cat. Changed settings to turn off obstacle detection, as with it on vacuum stopped to far away from edges of walls & things. Changed settings to increase PA, definitely lifted up the deep pile & left trails where it was. The App is awesome, shows every strip & pass the vacuum made. This vacuum is the S8 with a max PA of 6000. I highly recommend this Roborock. I have been a big skeptic r/t carpet, and have been proved wrong. Fantastic new robot boy. Also,,, have high thresholds d/t carpet. He ramped them with NO problem. Note: my cat loves his new friend too!

Love this bad boy. Its saved me a LOT OF TIME. No need to get the self cleaning/disposable bags attachment. Purchasing this without means the container is slightly bigger, and i have no problem taking the 10 seconds it takes to empty it. I have a Husky who has an issue causing him to shed even More than normal. This does wonders to pick up his hair. My life no longer feels as if its based around vacuuming. Highly recommend.

Life saver!! You must get this!!! Actually this is my 2nd roborock!!

Works great, easy to use. The dirt bin is a little fussy to empty and clean and it mis-labels obstacles. Def worth the money if you can get it on sale. At full price there may be better options with more features. Roborock absolutely has more suction power and picks up more dirt. Corners and edges will still need to be swept as this does not clean them fully.

We purchased this vac to deal with constant hair from our two dogs and cat. The mapping feature works well and learns the more time you use it. It shifts easily between our hardwoods, high pile carpet, and Ruggable area rugs (some vacs have an issue with them due to the rubber pad. It is not completely immune from running things over; sometimes it will attempt to suck up a sock. My only wish is that the dirt compartment was larger and that I had gotten the version with the mopping dock that self-cleaned. This is an amazing tool for busy families with pets. Would buy it again.

I had a Roborock S6Vmax model. it was awesome vacuum. But this one is on another level. It has way better collision avoidance. The only thing about this one is that he is loud, because of his powerful PA suction power. I would recommended buying it

We’ve have this before, but we had to move from the outside of US so once we come here, we got it again. We are satisfied with this. Mopping could be better, but it’s robot, not hand cleaning.

I love this vac/mop combo!! I have 6 miniature dachshunds, 4 of which are long hair, and this keeps the floors so clean!! These fur babies inevitably track grass, dirt, hair, leaves, you name it from their yard and this vacuum sucks it all up and everything looks so clean. I have wood, carpet, tile, and rugs it cleans them all.

It’s a great product. We have been using at our home on a daily basis. No issues.

Great suction power. Floor mopping is also pretty decent. Probably the best for the money. But if you have a higher budget, maybe consider the one with rotating mops and self-cleaning box, which will save you even more time.

The product is working better than expected. Had been postponing my purchase in hopes of a better product . This meets all my requirements . Very happy with the purchase.

This is my first robot vacuum and it’s been a real pleasure. Even though my apartment is small I found this vacuum takes so much time off my hands and work as well. Gets the job done so well. I love the mop feature

Overall its a great product. Gets the job done. Suction power of the vacuum isn’t that effective in the carpet area

First of all, DO NOT buy this if you have a pet. The dust bin is TINY and fills up in 2 seconds. That’s not even the worst part - it gets stuck on NOTHING. From the first use onwards it would stop in the middle of the floor with nothing around it saying it’s stuck on something. Super annoying and baffling they released a product that broken. Get a roborock instead

I tried for two weeks straight. I moved it to three locations. I even moved furniture around. I only have a ranch style house and it is not large. However, this could not map or leave one room. It never once made it back to the dock by itself. I am giving one star because support did reply back to me and I tried to resolve the issue but in the end, I had to return. I bought another brand and have had no issues.

One of the best purchases I’ve ever made. The app has everything. I can track the vacuum’s path even when I’m not at home and its mapping ability is top notch. Highly recommend. Easy to clean, easy to maintain. Very practical for wooden floors. Again I’ve never tested this on carpets. This is probably best for wooden floors!

Very Good product, very usefull and easy to use at home
