    An RGB inspired keyboard...

    This keyboard takes a little time to get used to. The feel is not bad but when I type the spacing or something takes some time to get used to. The RGB lighting is nice and controlled well from the Roccat Swarm software, but I will say that the one I received the light colors in the upper right corner are not as crisp as in the picture. It is almost just dim. The cord for a keyboard for gamers could be braded or have a nice cloth feel but instead it is a very plastic cord but does not quite feel cheap either. The lighting across the top two rows is not very even unless you go out of your way to look down at the keys from above. The full keyboard backlighting is a nice add especially for those who want to go with light themes for their pc setup. The Roccat Swarm software does not let you sync the colors with another Roccat device so each must be set individually. The software also has very limited color zones to set the lighting to. I would have liked more options, basically it splits the keyboard into 5 equal vertical slices. There are other options but they don't really impress. I'm including pics so you can see what I was saying.

    I wanted a quiet keyboard that lit up rainbow and this surpassed my expectations! I absolutely love that it isn't just the key lettering that lights up, but the whole back! Awesome color changing, not too fast & not too slow. Very easy to type/press the keys. VERY quiet.

    I love this keyboard! It’s quiet and flashy! I would like to be able to control the lights to stay one color, but I can always just turn them off. I also do not like how extended the keys are. They are lifted quite a bit from the base and I’m afraid they will get caught if I snag them. But I really enjoy this board!

    Exactly what you see. It can be a a bit bright but you can turn brightness down with software. Keys work smooth and silent. Construction feels very good. An amazing piece of hardware for a fair price. If you like RGB lighting this is the keyboard for you.

    Keyboard = RGB SEXY !!

    Having reviewed multiple RGB keyboards this one is easily the brightest and most vibrant I’ve seen. Alienware requires a double USB for both function and lighting, but Roccat does more with single slot. The membrane keys took a bit to get used to. My normal gaming keyboard is mechanical with click keys, whereas this feels soft and squishy, whisper quiet. I disliked it at first, and normally might have returned the item, but the beauty kept me coming back until I acclimated, and now prefer this one as it definitely grew on me the more I used it. Build quality feels slightly on the cheap side, likely due to lighter weight membrane than I’m accustomed to. Palm rest is plastic though I don’t use them so it’s unimportant for my usage. I feel this product is marketed more for its visual appeal. It’s incredibly bright and sexy, and now my wife has hijacked the thing for use in her dark office bc the backlit keys are much easier to read than her Dell Latitude laptop. Pros + sexy vibrant colors + plug and play + fast and responsive + colors cycle morphing into the next + single USB slot required + Roccat Swarm software + 5 profiles (users, game, etc) Cons -cord, though wireless would be a battery suck -feels lighter and less substantial than I’m used to K Conclusion While not perfect for everyone this keyboard really has a lot going for it. The attached images don’t do it justice. If you’re in the market for a bright, vibrant and colorful gaming keyboard, and aren’t put off by softness and quiet keys, look no further. Recommend

    After using many gaming keyboards a including a couple of wireless and some mechanical keyboards of different brands I am very impressed with my first experience with the Roccat brand. At first I thought I may be disappointed with a non mechanical membrane based keyboard. However, it turns out I really like the Roccat Magma key design and responsiveness of the membrane design. It is very smooth and and the button firmness seems spot on. I also like the Roccat Swarm software suite to control the lighting and sign keys. While I love the idea of the fully backlit keyboard face I stiil can not decide if it is a little overbearing on my eyes at times. I suppose i can work with it to adjust that to get it just right for my eyes. Additionally, I really like the palm rest is very helpful to support my wrist and palms for typing. No problems with Ghosting for me with it either. For me I am very happy with this Roccat Magma and look forward to using it for quite some time going forward. It seems very well made and strikes a nice balance between responsiveness and comfort that make it a joy to use for me. I would definitely recommend this keyboard and I am very impressed with my experience with the Roccat Brand!

    What is in the box. A Backlit keyboard, a detachable palm rest, and the Quick Start Guide. The Set-up I downloaded the 160 MB zip file. After installing the file, I launched it. I was immediately told to download another file to make this file work. I downloaded and installed the update for the SWARM app. I then proceeded to set up my profile. There are 5 slots for profiles. I started using the keyboard and thought it felt like a typewriter. The key deflection is nice about a quarter inch. Switching over to Game mode with just a push of a button, and back with the push of the same button. The light in the upper right illuminates when you are in game mode. Inside the app you can select sound feedback. There is also an area to select repeat delay, repeat rate and cursor blink rate. You can also manage your 5 profiles. You can also remap all the keys to your personal preferences. This Gaming keyboard is a big step up and I would recommend it to family and friends.

    Hands down the best RGB lighting I've ever seen in a keyboard I've owned. The Swarm software is really easy to use as well and doesn't hog up a ton of resources on my PC. The keyboard itself is a membrane board so the typing experience isn't going to be as precise as a mechanical board. That said I haven't run into any issues so far and the typing experience is nice and silent for those late night sessions. My only knock is the wrist rest. It looks like and synergizes well with the board but it's plastic. If you are prioritizing comfort above all else I would maybe look at some other options. Currently this board is only sale for $49.99 which is crazy good! Seriously the value for the money is second to none with this board. My favorite membrane keyboard hands down!

    It's a very good keyboard. The back lighting is very neat and I do like that it comes with a wrist rest, it's come in handy many a time. Nothing has gone wrong with it for as long as I've had it and it performs well, so I definitly recommend this keyboard.

    Great alternative to the Steel Series Apex. The build quality is up to par with more higher end keyboards as well. The keys aren't loud, they are soft. I've used it for a few months now and would most likely purchase this brand again.

    For the price, you simply can't beat it. The keys have good feedback and resistance, and since it's not mechanical, it's silent which can be important for some people. The RGB effect is attractive and not overdone. And the wrist rest does it's job well. I would recommend this for any gamer on a budget.

    I was looking forward to a silent typing experience, and I atill am, because this keyboard is just as clacky, if not moreso, than the one it's replacing. It glows, came with an attachable wrist rest, and matches the mouse. The keys are not spaced to allow a pencil to rest on the keyboard.

    Great membrane board that feels mechanical

    The closest keyboard to mechanical, I believe, you will come across. Roccat has great keyboards that are actually affordable. I have the Pyro on my personal computer and it is exceptional. The keys are perfectly spaced, accurate when in use, elevated in the rear perfectly, and the keys are beautifully lit and evenly lit. The wrist rest does not move anywhere. It clips into place. The Magma is very similar with regard to the keys being perfectly spaced, very accurate when typing, of course not mechanical and you can feel a slight difference, and the only thing it lacks is a volume knob like the Pyro. It too has a wrist rest that clicks into place. Because I have it connected to a work computer I cannot install the software and that is a bummer. The only thing on it that is a bit unfortunate is the top row number keys can look just a tad uneven when it comes to lighting, but the rest of the keyboard is beautifully even. And one more thing about the keys, On many membrane keyboards keys don't always appear as tall off the board as keys on a mechanical. The keys on the magma are no different in height than on it's mechanical counterpart. That is significant because going between the two throughout my day I don't feel any real change in my typing pattern and speed. Got the board on sale and so far great. Final thought. I tried the competitor keyboards that are membrane by the most common keyboard manufacturers - corsair, razer, and steelseries. Magma is the best.
