Great deal on a solid device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got a couple of these during the Black Friday deals - work well and have been a big part of allowing us to "cut the cord" without sacrificing much.

It Works! It's Easy!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this. It was so easy to set up. It works. Slight pauses during program, however the time is not nearly as long as regular tv and commercials.

Great Streaming Media Player for Most People
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently updated the living room TV and moved the old living room TV to the master bedroom. While the older TV is a smart TV, it is older and the apps are not the best. So, I purchased the Roku Premiere+ as a streaming media player for the master bedroom. The older TV is 1080 full HD resolution. So, the 4k capabilities of this Roku are overkill, but it is the first level of Roku hardware that includes an Ethernet port. I do not use WiFi for streaming media, as I do not want weak signal or dropped packets to cause issues with picture quality. The Roku platform is a good option for those looking to take advantage of the entertainment options available over the Internet. All of the major players are there, such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video, YouTube, Fandango NOW, Vudu, and HBO NOW. However, there are A LOT more options, including PBS, PBS Kids, PLEX, Sling TV, DirecTV NOW, Haystack TV, etc. If you are a PLEX subscriber, then you can even stream in your local over-the-air broadcasts from an antenna, an HD HomeRun network tuner, and a PLEX Media Server backend with their DVR service. The Roku interface is simple to use, and the hardware is more than capable of providing quick and smooth navigation between menu options and within apps. Searching for and adding new "channels" to your Home screen is also easily accomplished. The only thing that some may find overwhelming are the vast number of channels available to install. Also, some of the channels require a subscription. Many will know that Netflix is a paid service, but they may not know that CBS All Access is also a paid service or that some channels, like the Disney Channel, require that you sign in with your cable/satellite TV credentials. So, if you're purchasing a Roku or any streaming media player, just be sure that the apps that you want to use are available and that you understand what the restrictions are, if any. Overall, I would recommend the Roku Premiere+ streaming media player to most people who are looking for a way to consume online entertainment.

Outstanding Web Based TV tuner
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Roku Premier is by far the best Roku option, the ability to plug headphones directly into the remote is great, and is by far worth every cent of the higher price! Streaming content is excellent, quality of the wifi receiver is great, and the ability to stream music is also a great added plus, just overall an outstanding streaming device, I would definitely purchase one again.

It works..
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a Roku stick and wanted something with better connection. I don't get why it is only 10/100 but whatever. I'll be able to use the 4k soon too. Everything works. It streams Mlb.tv perfectly (suck it Spectrum).

Best Roku Yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already have a Roku 3 and the new Roku Stick but wanted to add a device to another room that could be hard wired (Ethernet) for better streaming and faster load times. The Roku Premiere Plus delivers. The unit was easy to set up has all the apps I needed and I love that you can listen with headphones using the remote. This is a great feature as the device is in my bedroom.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have used this streaming device for a few years now. It has performed flawlessly. Programming is straight forward. Image quality is excellent. The batteries needed replacement a few times. Added additional storage with an SD card. Easy to used. Good Second Attempt
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had purchased the Roku Ultra about 6 months ago, but ended up returning it because of all the well documented audio issues. Seriously, look at some forums on that. However, I upgraded my receiver, so the optical audio was no longer required, so I tried out the Premiere +. It has been great so far with no audio or video issues present. I have an older version of the Amazon Fire, but am not a fan of the newer 'dongle' style they have now. I like the Roku PP as it still has a dedicated Ethernet connection that I like to have as an option.

Good media player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have that Amazon Fire in my living room and needed something for the bedroom. I decided on the Roku for my bedroom. Fairly easy to set up and if I compare the 2 devices, I would have to say that they are pretty comprable to each other. I do like the fact that you can plug a set of headphones into the controller though and listen to the sound without disturbing anyone else.

Great Device!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally had the Roku streaming stick, but returned it for the Premiere+. The reason wasn't that the stick didn't work, it does and offers the same channels as the plus does. I got the plus because it allows for a direct hardwire internet connection to my router and then to my TV via USB. I am very happy with it and use it a great deal. Believe me, it made dumping cable TV very easy to do and the savings are awesome. I once paid over $140/month for my cable and internet subscriptions. But I dumped the cable part and just kept the internet. I had HBO and Starz with my cable, but I subscribed to them through Roku. I now pay only $74/month for internet and those two subscriptions a month and I get local TV through the air.
