This 2016 version is very powerful and can handle everything thrown at it. PROS: it is always on. CONS: it is always on. Stick may not fit between wall and horizontal HDMI plug but Roku offers an extender.

The Roku Streaming Stick is an excellent alternative to the Amazong Fire Stick or the Google Chrome Stick, and more often than not, you receive an abundance of choices you couldn't get with the latter devices. I like Roku because it allows access to a variety of streaming services (both free and paid), and with my limited taste in movies and television, it is much cheaper than purchasing a cable subscription. However, I have noticed a few problems with the Roku Streaming Stick. The stick itself, first off, must also be attached to a USB cable in order to be accessed, completely defeating the purpose of the HDMI stick component in the first place. That is entirely my fault, I suppose, for not researching the device prior to purchase. There are two options for connecting the USB device - directly through the television's USB or through an outlet and its corresponding component. I opted for the television port, as there are few outlets near my television. It worked for a while, but then the stick needed to be charged. I charged the Stick via outlet for several hours before connecting it back to the televisions USB port, and within a half hour the remote (which connects to the Stick and won't work unless the Stick is charged) would not work. I rearranged items nearest the television to allow access to the outlet so it could charge while plugged in to the TV, and now the entire system fails to work if it's not plugged in to the outlet. An additional problem associated with outlet usage is that the stick will continue streaming even if the television is off (which it isn't supposed to do), so I have to fumble around until I can unplug the device. It's a greater hassle than it should be. Lastly, the remote does NOT retain battery life well, so make sure you stock up on AAAs!

connectivity is great. Much better than streaming through a dvd box. Have to switch over when using a dvd but for netflix and hulu etc this is great.

This Roku is extremely easy to use. I set it up for my mother who wanted to watch Netflix and it did not take long to show her how to use it! Super simple especially with the Netflix button on the remote.

I really like how you can point the remote in any direction and it does not have to be pointed straight at the tv. No glitches and works great.

I like the quick and easy setup of the Roku. My only complaint is that it seems to have resulted in a slightly dimmer picture. However, it's inexpensive and a good introduction to streaming video.

Reasonable price and very happy with our purchase. The set-up was very easy, clear picture and the sound is clear and loud, as well. Great purchase!

Bought this so that I could subscribe to HBO Now and catch up on Game of Thrones. The Roku works great--easy set-up and great number of viewing options.

This is faster than the older model. Loads faster and you can search while still viewing the current channel. Very stable. I highly recommend it.

Roku Streaming Stick is one of the least expensive devices to stream video from Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, HBO, Sling TV and other online services

May not be the highest roku model but it's the most versatile. Take it with you anywhere and plug it in any tv (providing you have decent wifi)

This is our second ROKU product. We purchased it to use on a secondary TV. It was very simple to install and add to our existing ROKU account.

This is my second Roku. I had a Roku 2 that was not working properly anymore so I decided to upgrade to the Roku 3. It is fast and I like the new menu.

Amazingly good. had another system in place in another tv, Bought this Roku for the bedroom tv(older) work extremely well and easy to set up.

A true cable TV killer. One needs a high speed internet service and TV with a HDMI port. Used in conjunction with cable service, you can move to a second TV, and take advantage of existing channel services.

It would be awesome if it would work right.remote always stopped working. Had to exchange it 3 or 4 different times because of the remote and there is no way to turn the power of to it besides unplugging the power cord from the stick every time

I love being able to take it from room to room/TV to TV and watch wherever I want. The price was awesome and the performance is beyond expectation.

Great and cheapest replacement for the cable box. It's fast and no lag or buffering. This is our 6th Roku at home. That should tell the story!

Got this for my father for Christmas as an entry point to access Netflix. It was easy to set up and easy to use. Going to get one for myself soon.
