Samsung Odyssey OLED G9
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the 49” Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SC) for a while now, and while it offers an impressive visual experience on paper, my experience has been mixed. Pros: • Stunning OLED Display: The image quality is undeniably beautiful—deep blacks, vibrant colors, and excellent contrast. It’s immersive, especially in games that support ultra-wide resolutions. • 240Hz Refresh Rate: Smooth performance, especially when paired with a high-end GPU. Perfect for fast-paced games like Fortnite. • Curve & Size: The 49-inch ultrawide form factor is great for multitasking and immersive gaming. It’s like having two monitors in one. Cons: • Flickering and Black Screen Issues: I’ve dealt with frequent flickering and random black screens. Sometimes I’ve had to unplug and replug the monitor just to get it working again. That’s unacceptable at this price point. • Smart Features Are Annoying: The built-in Smart Hub feels unnecessary for a PC monitor. It adds bloat and delay. I don’t want ads or app suggestions on my display—just a clean, responsive experience. • Glossy Screen: The glare is brutal. Any light source in your room will reflect right back at you. Matte would have been a better choice for productivity and general use. Overall: If you want the best image quality and don’t mind tweaking your setup to deal with quirks, this monitor delivers on performance. But for me, the issues with reliability and poor user experience on the software side make it hard to recommend without major caveats. After they released the newest firmware update it seems to have fixed some of the issues. I hope the next update doesn’t break anything else. At this price, I expected more polish.

Picture is amazing. Build quality is crap.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The screen size is monstrous, and the OLED display is beautiful. However, I’ve had this for about six months, and it randomly stops recognizing my computer as being connected. I had to give up entirely on using the DisplayPort cable. The port on the monitor seems to have stopped working. I know it’s not my graphics card or cable because I can connect it to a different monitor and have no issues. Until I have the time to call Samsung, I’m just using an HDMI cable. I paid $1400 for it while it was on sale. I would not purchase it again. I DEFINITELY would not recommend paying full price for it. This is supposed to be a luxury product, I paid a luxury price, and I am extremely disappointed with it. I also hate the Smart TV “features” I just wanted the OLED display for gaming.

My G9 story
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from a UHD 27" 60Hz screen to the Odyssey G8, then I upgraded again a few months later to this monitor, the Odyssey G9. Theses decisions were made after hours of online research about competing models. I got the monitor for $1,200 during a sale. It is a beautiful screen, and I love gaming at 240Hz, as the G8 I had before this only reached ~180Hz. There are moments with real wow-factor, like when playing Cyberpunk, BF2042, BG3. On the other hand, many games don't support 32:9 aspect ratios, or are not meaningfully enhanced by going fullscreen in 32:9. In the end of the day, I am very satisfied with my monitor purchase, even with my G8 becoming relegated to a secondary screen. If you have enough money to float this purchase, and you are okay with the extravagant widescreen only enhancing some experiences, I'd recommend it. My previous upgrade to the G8, and this upgrade to the G9 are part of a larger investment into my gaming setup. I also recently built a PC with high end components. I mention this to advise further on this purchase for other young folks. Roughly a year ago I got my first job in my area of study, at which point I was destitute financially. I badly wanted to upgrade my pc, but I waited and saved until I had a financial safety net of at least 6 months worth of expenses. If I had instead spent on my pc before saving, I would have enjoyed it less, as the security of a backup plan enhances all aspects of life. When I bought the G9 I was worried about reliability, but my life became better when I decided not to worry about that and to just enjoy the monitor. You really only do live once, so you may as well live in 5120x1440 @240 Hz in HDR.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SC) — Quick Review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bottom line: A gorgeous, ultra-wide OLED built for speed and immersion. If you’ve got the desk space and a strong GPU, it’s a thrill. What I like Stunning OLED contrast and color; blacks look truly black 49" DQHD (5120×1440) with a tight curve feels incredibly immersive 240 Hz refresh + ~0.03 ms response keep motion razor-clean G-Sync compatible/FreeSync works well to kill tearing Handy Smart features for quick streaming between sessions What could be better Requires serious desk space and cable wrangling Peak brightness is good, but not on mini-LED level Like all OLEDs, you should mind static HUDs and run the pixel care tools You’ll want a high-end GPU to drive DQHD at high frame rates Verdict: Fantastic for sim racers, shooters, and anyone who loves ultra-wide productivity. Premium price, premium experience. 4.5/5

Great monitor
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using the 49” Odyssey monitor for a while, I decided to upgrade to the OLED model—and it did not disappoint. The improvement was immediately noticeable. I use this monitor for both gaming and work, and it excels in both areas. Games look stunning on the expansive OLED display, with vibrant colors and deep blacks that truly elevate the experience. For productivity, the ultra-wide screen is a game changer. Being able to view multiple windows and programs side by side has transformed how I work. One unexpected perk: the OLED model is significantly lighter than its predecessor. Since I wall-mounted it to save space, the reduced weight made installation much easier and more secure. It’s also a smart monitor, meaning you can run apps natively. That said, I rarely use the smart features—they’re nice to have, but not essential for my setup. If you’re in the market for a premium ultra-wide monitor—whether for immersive gaming or serious multitasking—I highly recommend this one.

The Ultimate Ultrawide Experience – Nothing Else C
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the Samsung Odyssey G9 for a few months now, and I can confidently say: this monitor is in a league of its own. The 49” curved screen completely changes the way you work and play. Whether I’m deep into competitive gaming or multitasking with multiple windows open, the G9 handles it all flawlessly. The 240Hz refresh rate is buttery smooth, and when paired with a proper GPU, it’s like stepping into another dimension. The resolution (5120x1440) is perfect for ultrawide productivity—it’s like having two QHD monitors in one seamless display, but without any bezels or alignment issues. For gaming, it’s insanely immersive. Games like Warzone feel alive—peripheral vision is a game-changer, and motion is crisp even during high-speed action. The build quality is premium, and the RGB lighting on the back adds a subtle but stylish flair. Setup was simple, and I love that it works beautifully with both my gaming PC and work setup. If you’re serious about gaming or productivity—or both—this is hands down the best investment you can make for your setup. It’s not just a monitor; it’s a full experience. Highly recommended. Worth every penny.

Amazing image with annoying hiccups
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been wanting an ultrawide monitor for a while. Then I also wanted to get an OLED monitor since the technology has made a lot of progress. I was deciding between Corsair, LG and this one. I ended up going with this based on a friend's recommendation. I didn't think I'd be able to fit it on my desk with a secondary 32" monitor but it worked out. I have to say that once everything is set up, the image quality is quite amazing. High quality wallpapers are on a different level and games look great in ultrawide. HDR looked worse at first but using Microsoft's calibration app improved the image quality considerably. The monitor has smart features that turn it into a Smart TV. I don't really care for the features as I already have my own solutions for that. The menus are a bit confusing to get through as there are settings on the TV side and settings on the monitor side. I do run into an issue that is annoying but not enough to make me return the device. From time to time, when launching a game or waking up the monitor from sleep while the computer is running, it will be stuck on a black screen. The only way to fix it is to do a GPU reset (Win+CTRL+Shift+B) which resets all monitors connected to the GPU. Despite all that, I'm happy with my purchase. I'm not sure if I'd recommend it to everyone but it definitely has its uses, even outside of gaming.

Amazing for work and play!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the Samsung 49” Odyssey OLED G9 for a few weeks now, and it’s honestly one of the best tech purchases I’ve ever made. I mainly got it for work — and for multitasking, this thing is unbeatable. I can comfortably run three windows side by side without any clutter or the need for a second screen. The image quality is next-level. The OLED panel delivers insanely rich colors and deep blacks, which makes even basic desktop work look crisp and vibrant. The photo doesn’t do it full justice, but it looks incredible in person. When I switch over to gaming or watching content, it really shines. The 240Hz refresh rate is buttery smooth, and the curved screen makes everything feel super immersive. Build quality is solid, setup was easy, and it fits perfectly on my desk. Definitely a premium monitor, but if you’re looking for something that crushes it in both productivity and entertainment, this is worth every penny.

Great for monitor for Macbook pro M3 Max and PC
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product, colors are great and the OLED is beautiful. I use it for both entertainment and work and it does super great. Multiple inputs work great. I use split mode or PBP picture by picture. One thing to note is that it doesn’t have PIP picture in picture like the G9 neo. PIP is different then PBP I have contacted samsung support and they said they may add it to the oled version in a future firmware update. We will wait and see on that. I still stand by my 5 stars but would give it 4.5 for missing PiP mode. Overall it wirks for my needs. I have a lenovo work laptop connected via display port and a M3 Max Macbook Pro. For the macbook it works great on display port for using it via either HDMI or thurderbolt to HDMI, just be sure to have the right supporting usb c to hdmi 2.1 8k cable to support the high bandwidth and use Better Display Pro software to support Sonoma with the ultra wide 32:9 and 240hz refresh screen res. Movies, picture editing Colors and clarity is excellent Best monitor to watch movies in their true aspect ratios.

1800R curve is a let down
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The OLED on this monitor is amazing, PPI is crisp, and the colors are out of this world. Glossy screen which is huge, you dont see that often. The biggest thing that completely killed it for me was the lack of curvature and immersion. I wish the display wrapped around you more. Without it, it just looks so long and narrow with not enough height to it. It looks a bit goofy in my opinion. It almost looks like a flat monitor. I found myself having to move my head left and right more, shifting my posture from side to side to view parts of the monitor. It really lacked the immersion i wanted. Also, the smart hub was SUPER laggy, the remote felt really cheap for a $1,700-1,800 monitor. It was a pain to even get it to the right input. Software was really lack luster, when comparing to lets say the 45” LG OLED. Overall, great quality panel, but the design and software was a let down.

Game-changer. Create. Work. Win on G9 OLED.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Monitor That Redefines What a Monitor Can Be Rating: ★★★★★ (Beyond 5 Stars) There are products you buy. Then there are products that transform how you work, play, and think. The Samsung 49” Odyssey QD-OLED G9 is the latter. It’s not just a monitor—it’s an experience, an ecosystem, and a mindset shift. Let me explain. 1. The Visual Standard Has Changed Forever Once you sit in front of this QD-OLED panel, you can’t “unsee” the difference. It’s like stepping from VHS to 8K HDR overnight. With near-infinite contrast, true blacks, and unmatched color vibrancy, the visuals don’t just appear—they emerge. Designers, creators, gamers—this is how content is meant to be experienced. It’s not brighter or more saturated—it’s more real. 2. The 32:9 Ratio: Dual-Monitor Efficiency, Zero Bezel Hassle Forget two 27” monitors. This is two QHDs seamlessly stitched together—with no cables, no misalignments, no distractions. Video editors can stretch timelines across the screen. Developers can code and test side-by-side. Traders can track charts, news, and dashboards—all on one breathtaking canvas. You don’t “multi-task” on this monitor. You multi-master. 3. 240Hz Refresh + 0.03ms Response = Eyes Ahead, Hands First This isn’t just for esports. This kind of responsiveness has psychological impact. Your reaction times improve. Your perception sharpens. Your control deepens. Whether gaming, designing, or dragging complex 4K timelines—it feels like the screen is responding to your intention, not just your input. 4. Smart Monitor Functionality: More Than a Display—It’s a Hub This isn’t talked about enough: The Odyssey G9 is also a Smart TV. Built-in apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Microsoft 365 turn it into an all-in-one productivity and entertainment station. No need for a PC to stream or present. I’ve used it to run pitch decks directly from the monitor—clients were floored. It’s a game-changer for remote professionals and small business owners. 5. A Business Enabler, Not Just a Peripheral This monitor isn’t an accessory—it’s a strategic asset. Since using it, I’ve reduced production time by 23%, increased client engagement, and even landed two new contracts because the visual presentation of our work now wows. It pays for itself. It’s not just about pixels. It’s about possibilities. 6. The Curve: It Doesn’t Just Look Cool—It’s Ergonomic Science The immersive 1000R curvature aligns with your natural field of vision. That means less eye strain, better focus, and longer sessions without fatigue. I never knew how important this was until I experienced it. Now I can’t go back. Final Word: This Monitor Isn’t for Everyone—It’s for the Visionaries If you just need “a screen,” keep scrolling. But if you’re building something bigger—whether that’s a brand, a business, a career in gaming or content—this is your secret weapon. This is where ideas go to scale. The Samsung 49” Odyssey QD-OLED G9 didn’t just change my workflow. It changed my output, my results, and even my reputation. No ad, influencer, or campaign can do what this monitor does just by turning it on. Samsung didn’t just build a monitor. They built a movement.

Amazing all in one monitor
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do you want an absurdly large monitor to show off to your friends? This monitor is the one for you. Do you want to be able to see 50+ Excel columns all at once on one screen? This is the monitor for you. This monitor is about as all in one as you can get. Fast refresh rates, amazing OLED colors and contrasts. Smart TV capabilities. Blazing fast input response times. It’s all you could want or need as a monitor. Great for racing simulators, or if you simply want a massive field of vision. I got this monitor when it was on sale and was $500 off, not sure if it’s worth the normal retail price, but when it’s on sale, it’s worth the price you pay (though the price is still stout)

Best OLED To Date
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After watching a ton of reviews and waiting to see what 2024 would bring, I settled on this panel. I waa debating between this, the LG 45” Ultra Gear or the 57” G9. Ultimately this was the one due to its PPI, OLED panel and 240hz refesh rate. I was skeptical at first reading hit or miss reviews but after getting it setup, it was a game changer. I’ve always had ultrawide monitors but going from a 34” to this was a joy. Games are way more immersive, the panel is insanely vibrant and the brightness is perfect without being overly bright. If you’re ever trying to decide on an OLED with a matte finish or glossy one, I would say go for the glossy finish every time to get the most out of it. I have zero issues with reflections. As for why I didn’t go for the 57” G9, even though I think it has the perfect resolution and vertical height, it would take a lot of power to run. I have a 13900k and a 4090 but it would struggle to push that resolution for gaming since it’s even higher than 4k resolution. I think that monitor is perfect for productity though. Hopefully once the 5090 arrives, it will be able to run games on it better. For now the G9 OLED is smooth as butter with it’s 240hz refresh rate. MSI and Gigabyte are all releasing 49” panels this year but only at 144hz at near same price. I’d vouch for Samsung’s panel over those for the money. With the Tizen features as well, you get a little more bang for your buck. It also comes with a remote so tuning the panel’s picture display was a breeze in comparison to typical monitors with a knob on it. Overall I’m super happy with this purchase. I’d say if you’re on the fence, don’t be. It’s worth it.

Best OLED monitor!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best monitor I have ever owned. I use it for gaming and work. It has the ability to split the screen as two separate monitors if as a dual screen setup. Nothing beats an OLED screen and a 240hz refresh rate It comes with a remote and TV smart features as well. It will also sync to other Samsung devices and notify you on their status as well. I was hesitant going 49 inch but it's the same as having 2 27in monitors side by side.

Great for DCS!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My goodness, fabulous monitor for DCS! A combat flight simulator. Oled is really good, the blacks are black, no backlight bleed, and the wide screen really makes the simulator immersive. Bypassed all the smart stuff, took awhile to get the monitor to be recognized by my computer, but one it did, no issues, I use NVIDIA to set up the color. Assembly was simple, never even looked at instructions , didn’t need them. also the lake Jackson staff Texas, was very helpful, and attentive. Would this be my first choice for a productivity monitor? Umm nope, but for gaming or sims, it’s stellar.

||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really amazing, got this for school / work and it can be configured for dual input and split the screen like 2 virtual monitors or one big one. Still pretty safe to say it'll stay relevant, it's around a thousand dollars for a GPU that'll push full resolution at max framerates. My PS5 also works good at 120fps and 1440p resolution, centers the screen on a 16:9 ratio. It'll push full resolution but not with the 32:9 ratio, maybe Playstation will update someday. Overall very satisfied almost 10 months after purchase.
