I went online and brick and mortar to shop and read reviews just prior to the purchase of my new 65 inch flatscreen from Best Buy. The Samsung brand is amazing. Very simple to use yet very refined not only in looks but also function. The customer service was flawless from the million and a half questions through to the purchase and the Installation. Sales staff was very knowledgable and when given a price budget was able to provide everything I asked for and stay within my budget. The install was also done right On time and looks great. I could have not done it without the geek squad. Not my first large purchase from Best Buy and certaintly won't be my last. Samsung Geek Squad and Best Buy sales staff best ever to work with and is what keeps me coming back.

Prior to buying this TV, we had an old rear projection Mitsubishi DLP TV that by most standards gave us a great picture but it was extremely heave to move. So when we bought our new home, we knew we wanted a brand new shiny TV for our family room. I did my homework to review all the different types of 4K TVs and read all the reviews. Finally, it came down to going to a store and viewing them for myself. At first, why not just get a 1080P TV and save ourselves a ton of money?? Well, there weren't many around in the screen size I was looking for at 65" or bigger. Our last TV was 11 years old and anything new, was a major upgrade. I looked at Samsung, Vizio, Sony, and LG. I spent about 2 hours at the BestBuy store with the rep that was patient and answered all my questions and demoed all the other brands that were there Finally, it came down to picture quality and narrowed my search to this Samsung model and a newer version with a price difference of $700. This model has a motion refresh rate of 120 versus the newer model at 240. I knew that anything less than 120, picture quality would be an issue. We didn't buy that day and came in the next day for another look, but in the end, we decided on this model. The other one had a brighter picture and was thinner, but again, anything newer than what we had was going to be a huge difference. Plus, our viewing distance from our seating area is only 9 feet and a bright screen like that could be problematic in the long run. Once the Geek Squad came out to install and set it up, we definitely saw the difference in the picture quality and were very happy with the purchase. I did purchase the TV Calibration service that will be done once we achieve 100 hours of TV time and that will definitely make a difference. If I had to do all again, I would end up with the same decision. That $700 I saved, helped buy a really nice glass stand from the Magnolia Center for my stereo equipment.

Took a bit of time to get the picture setting as I prefer them, but once finished very happy. Optical only hookup for sound no RCA hookups. So be aware of this before you purchase. I have a Bose system hooked to this tv and it works perfectly with the optical cable provided in the Bose box. Overall a great TV. Huge!

I reviewed several UHD TVs. I found this TV to be easy to set up, easy to navigate through and easy to use the APPS. I will be buying another one for the living room.

I currently own a 55 Inch Vizio HDTV that I love but I convinced myself that I really wanted a 4K TV with HDR. The marketing materials led me to believe that this television had true HDR, which it doesn't. I understand there's not much 4K content available, but the TV does a beautiful job of upscaling and/or displaying regular HD and Standard Def that it doesn't much matter if there's not much true 4K content available. If you enjoy Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu's original programming, then there's plenty of original 4K content to watch.
The black levels on this television are amazing, I didn't notice any backlight bleeding at all and the picture quality was amazing. I was even more impressed by the built in speakers. I wanted to replace my old soundbar with a soundbase to go with this new television and honestly, the sound quality on the television is gorgeous. It's loud and is almost just as good as any 2.1 soundbase. There were a few times when I thought I was listening to the soundbase only to discover I forgot to turn it on.
The main drawbacks to this TV are: the remote control is lousy, using it to navigate was a chore and Samsung's app UI was pretty lame. It came with Amazon, Hulu, HBO Go and Netflix, but I found the App Store limited.
Ultimately I returned the TV because for the price with the lack of true HDR I felt that it wouldn't be as "future" proof as I would have liked it to be and honestly, even though I don't watch any of my 3D blu-rays, it bugged me that I was also losing that feature as well.
If you want a simple to use, solid 4K HDTV, there's no reason not to purchase this. But I think I'm going to wait awhile longer before committing to purchasing one.

Truly the best TV I’ve owned. Crystal clear picture and great sound are it best attributes. Setup is extremely easy. The remote is a breeze to control once you’ve learned how to use it. No matter what you like to watch (even gaming) it all looks beautiful!

I've been using this TV for more than a couple of weeks with both cable (TDS TV) and streaming services (Netflix, Amazon, YouTube). The HD picture is really clear for sports, action, drama, and animation. The color appears very accurate, including dark and black images. Don’t expect old standard definition shows to look as superb as HD, but this TV renders old shows pretty well, depending on the broadcast/source and the original recording.
The set-up is straightforward, although I had to manually add TDS as my "cable" provider. Some other reviewers mentioned that the remote is a little tricky; I agree that there is a slight learning curve, but I’m used to it and find it easy to use. For my cable box, I still use the cable box remote for the TV guide and the DVR.
The only gripe I have (reason I knocked off one star) is that the TV has been spotty with connecting to streaming services Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube. Somehow, after two weeks of watching Netflix, my TV was suddenly unable to connect to the Internet, even though I was able to connect to the Internet using my computer to troubleshoot this. I had to reset the SmartHub service. This meant that I had to re-connect my TDS box to the TV and re-establish my Netflix and Amazon security credentials. Once reconnected, everything works again. I still have a VCR and need to connect it to see if that works - adapters for composite (RCA jacks) and component devices come in the box.
Another thing worth mentioning is that I mounted this on the wall with a Sanus LF228 full-motion swivel (purchased at the Magnolia Design Center within Best Buy). The TV is about 50 pounds, so not too heavy. But because of its size, it requires a two-person install. Although most of the TV is flat, the bottom one-third of the back of the TV curves away from the rest of the body, requiring you to mount the Sanus mount slightly higher up on the body. This means using longer bolts. The bolts in the mount’s box were either too short or too long, so I cut about 4 mm off longer ones. I’ve had to mod wall mount bolts for another Samsung LED TV. Once up, it all works very well.

This is my first 4K TV. The setup was simple, and the unit is very light weight. The rear holes fit a standard wall mount and it hung easily. The Smart features are great, but I don't like the way they display across the bottom of the screen. I would prefer a more traditional "app" appearance. I also did not like the way you switch from TV to DVD input. However, these are minor issues compared to the overall quality.

I own 2 other Samsung TVS and the color for my eyes is very natural. Very clear picture even though I do not use the UHD capability due to very limited programming.
The price also has come down significantly for this size TV.
The TV automatically set itself up to my DirecTV.

The Truth About Smart TVs

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Don't be fooled by this new marketing phrase "Smart TV'. First of all, the picture quality and sound are amazing. It also provides easy navigation between all the other devices, like DVD, streaming, cable... And if you want a giant computer monitor, then this is the one to buy. Smart TVs allow you to search the internet without using an HDMI cable attached to your laptop, which is cool. They also come with preprogrammed apps, but they are mostly ones you will never actually use. There are a few good apps. The main complaint I have is that you can't download non-preprogrammed apps to the TV. So, if the TV doesn't have an ABC app, you will need a Roku, Chromecast, Amazon Fire or other device to view your programs. If you try to watch ABC programs using the internet feature (going to the site and clicking on the desired show), you will get an error message telling you to download the latest Adobe Flash player, which you can't. The internet feature allows you to search the web for info but you can't watch TV content. Overall, it's a great TV. There are still a few bugs to work out for this new "Smart" technology.

What can I say but the picture on this TV is amazing. The setup was so easy, connected to my Wifi using my Samsung S7. You can use the remote that comes with the TV to control your Verizon Fios. The price was excellent as well. Plus got an Xbox One S for Free.
