I wanted a bigger screen and that's what I got. A bigger screen without a big or bulky phone. Easy one hand use. The screen is unbelievable beautiful. There is no lag that I came across. You would want to put a case on the phone as to not damage such a beautiful device....

My S8 plus was defective after 1 week. It had a green line in the middle of screen. AT&T service center replaced it.

I have been using this phone since the day it came out and have been very impressed. The speed is still fast and great, camera is one of the best, and the design is still gorgeous. I love how fluid the interface feels. Bonus points for being water resistant, having a micro sd card slot, and having a battery that lasts all day! The Galaxy S8+ is the best phone of the year in my opinion.

This is my fourth Samsung galaxy phone and by far my favorite.
The camera: I love the picture quality. I have compared my photos to those of the other popular smartphone and my pictures are always better. Better color and lighting. This is one of the main features I look for in a phone.
Battery: I am also very pleased with the battery life of this phone. On a normal day, I can go the whole day without charging. I couldn't do that with previous phones.
The screen: photos and videos are amazing on this screen. The edge to edge viewing is great.
Speed: I can give specifics, but this phone is also quicker than the previous.
Fingerprint scanner: some people think that the location is bad, but it works fine for me.

I upgraded from the Galaxy S5 active to the Galaxy S8+ and I'm very happy thus far. I've had the phone for one week now and can't be happier with the battery life, speed and ease of use. The display is crystal clear, the sound is loud even with the Tech 21 cover that I bough to go with it and the functionality is great. Despite a lot of continuous use, the battery life is amazing. I'd definitely recommend this phone to anyone. I like the + over just the regular 8, as the increased size of the screen is really nice.

I was looking forward to the S8+ because I knew Samsung would would hit a home run.
This phone exceeds my expectations in every way.
The display is beautiful because of the QHD Super Amoled display which covers most of the front of the phone.
It's huge yet very comfortable to hold and I'm using this to watch movies instead of my tablet!
The S8+ is lightening quick and the the battery life is awesome. The camera takes amazing pics which are better than my S7. I didn't think that was possible.
I could go on but I thinks wow covers it.
Good luck Apple. You are done copying Samsung and then claiming your "new" features are innovations.
Buy this phone and ditch your iPhone.

The Samsung S8 plus is a good phone that follows the Samsung galaxy past experiences with top notch graphics in both the resolution along with taking photos/videos. The edge screen is great and the design of the phone has allowed a greater area of viewing without physical buttons to block areas. The battery life is good and lasts a long time despite using videos or graphic intense apps. The fingerprint sensor is okay and I agree with other reviews that it is located at a slightly awkward position but there is no other place to put this without creating more buttons. Iris scan is cool if you like that feature along with the heart rate /O2 sensor monitor. The customization of the phone is also a great feature of the Galaxy S8 in how you interact with apps along with scrolling through the features of the phone. The ability to add additional memory storage via micro sd is always a good feature of droid phones. It is a USB C plug in charge, which is good in plugging in versus the micro sub which you have to flip it to the right side to plug in. Sound quality is not bad and much better with a headphone set compared to phones like HTC One series (except A9). The price is a bit of debate as it cost about $700 or more whether unlocked or through a carrier. Overall a good phone that competes with IPhone and other droid phones in the market.

This phone is fast, smooth, has a great camera, looks and feels great in the hand. It's probably one of, if not the best smartphone/camera combo you can buy today. Indoor (low light) pictures are very clear. The screen looks fantastic and is plenty bright for outdoor use in direct sunlight. Still has a headphone jack, which is a must.
Now, the drawbacks.
It's too big. I'm a large guy, and this phone is too big to use one-handed. I can reach over to the other side of the screen with my thumb, however, the phone registers my palm on the opposite side and rejects the input.
Bixby button and app are annoying in general. Even when I'm not physically hitting the button, Bixby hears me say something other than "hi bixby" and decides to wake up and begin speaking loudly in my pocket while I'm at work and the phone is on silent. Bixby and media volume have to be manually lowered even after hitting the silence button. Pretty frustrating.
Back to bixby. I can say "Hi Bixby" half a dozen times and the phone doesn't respond. Why does it wake up IN MY POCKET at work?
Bixby can't be remapped or uninstalled, and that would be fine if it worked. Most of my requests get a "Which one??," or a connection error. I really can't get it to do even basic things like send a text message. Google assistant is where it's at.
Samsung pay doesn't work like it's supposed to. It's supposed to emit a signal even to old magnetic stripe readers, but I haven't gotten it to work once. The devices get stuck on "remove quickly."
Tons of duplicate apps. Google's apps are mandatory, and you can't uninstall samsung's or AT&T's... I don't mind them shipping with the phone, but it shouldn't be advertised as 64GB if I can't use a portion of it.
My scratch resistant screen got scratched in my shorts pocket with nothing else present in the pocket. I think they were denim technically, but not exactly blue jean material. I tried applying a screen protector, however, the curved screen and a case don't really play well with a screen protector.
speaking of the curved screen, the edge software doesn't really do much. it looks like samsung had a "great idea" and then sort of gave up right at launch. there are hardly any official apps, and very few developers other than "Sally Soft" who seems to make the most reliable and useful stuff.

Pickup preordered phone on 4/21. Once Best buy was done setting up the phone part, it was up to me to get all the apps, file, contacts, photos, etc off my old phone Note 4 on to new phone s8 Plus.
With my old phone having 32gb and my new phone have 64gb there was no worrying about bring able to get everything from my old phone to my new phone.
First I used ATT Mobile Transfer app over Wi-Fi but was limited to 16gb for transfer, which of core I had more then that, so unchecked a few things and off it went transferring for old to new over my home WIFI said would take 1 hour and a half, with AC net work only took about 45 minutes. Then ran again to get my videos transferred. But ran into a problem my video alone were over the max 16gb limit. So went with Samsung Smart Switch over WI-FI (note can do USB cable too)which had no limits and took a long time but transferred all my apps, file, contacts, photos, etc to new Phone. Then only took a few minutes for everything to be installed and setup on new phone.
This phone is fast, so much faster then my Note 4. Now looking and the size of the phone the s8 plus is just as tall but not as wide compared to my Note 4. But I found if so much easer to use with one hand due to the narrow body. Battery life has been very good up at 4 am and is now almost 11 am and at 71%, now I have not been using it every minute since I work up but I have been collecting game rewards every hour or so and playing a few other games between collecting rewards.
Talked on Phone for about 40 minutes and no problems, clear sound and not dropped while driving about 20 miles across town.
So after only one day I would recommend the you should by One! With the monthly program service that ATT does it is affordable for most. Thank you for reading!

The Galaxy S8+ was the absolute best phone on the market when I bought it in April of last year. In fact, fast forward a year later, and this phone performs just as well as the day I bought it. The Galaxy S9+ is out now. The S8 has 99% of all the features available on the S9. About the only differences are the camera, the placement of the fingerprint sensor, and the processor is slightly faster. The S8+ is just the right size and it does everything I need it to. I'm a Samsung customer for life. Blows the iPhone away.

Galaxy 8 Plus exceeds my expectation of the phone. The camera takes great shot and people notice it. Finally with a good amount of memory and battery life, I will not have to worry about being tight with managing the apps. I could go a day and a half before recharging the battery. The size of screen (6.2) looks great! I have big hand so I needs a case to hold it since this phone is a littler slippery. I used Otterbox Clear Symmetry and Alpha Glass to protect my investment in this phone. You won't regret to get it.

Greatest phone ever. If you're looking for an Android device the S8 and S8 plus can't be beat. I prefer the size of the S8, but if you want the best big screen phone this is it. I'm a heavy use and this phone easily lasts the full day. The camera is the best I've seen on a phone, I'd say it beats the current iPhone 7, and too close to call against the 7 Plus. The screen, nothing needs to be said about that other than believe the hype! Samsung's implementation of Android as far as the home screen and menus is at its finest. This is the first phone where I haven't used a custom launcher! The ability to blackout you phone with themes of great, I prefer a dark menu and options. Mainly it's easier on the battery life and eyes, but really because it looks better, Apple, please learn something from Samsung on this... Icing on the cake is FM radio, wireless charging, and it's IP rated. Unless you're budget restricted I can't think of a single reason not to buy this or the S8, and unless you're tied to the Apple ecosystem, best phones ever. People complain about the fingerprint sensor. It's weird, but I have no issues with. There is nothing to complain about so you have to pick something I guess. Bixby, not even going to talk about it. It's useless and you don't need to use it if you don't want to, that is all. If you are still with me at this point, it should be clear from my ramblings, this phone is going to be hard to beat...

Battery life has always been most important too me because I listen to music and run multiple apps consistently. The phone by itself lasts me two days running Pandora every waking minute.
The processing power and multitasking is incredibly fast. I run multiple heavy apps and never see lag while switching windows or running in splitview mode. The 8+ extra viewing screen is a very noticeable difference from the S7 Edge I had previously.
I also recommend the Mophie for this product for the additional battery life.

I bought the Galaxy S8+ because I've gotten so used to the Note series of phones and a small phone would have freaked me out. The first impression on this phone's size is the "thin-ness" of it compared to my prior phone (Note 4). However, considering the curved screen on both sides, it's easy to see how that allows the phone to be a few mm shorter in width, but is the same length as the Note series. The screen is impressive. I'm also very impressed with the fact that the fingerprint sensor is on the back; I've read other reviews on XDA-Developers forum of which I've been a long-time member, complaining about the placement of the fingerprint sensor, but it honestly makes sense to me, as my index finger when holding the phone to unlock it/turn the screen on (and yes you can do that by just a fingerprint) is typically positioned in the precise spot where the sensor is. The cameras are very good (not as high MP as the later Notes) but the inbuilt technology more than makes up for a 4 MP decrease in this particular device. For those who wanted a removable battery, sorry - you can't do that like I was able to with my Note 4, but with regular use of several apps, a few games, etc., I'm still getting 28-30 hours between full charges. While I'm definitely waiting for the arrival of the Note 8, this is a great phone to keep my interest until the new Note 8 has both launched and has been in-field at least 6-8 months to ensure that it doesn't "blow up" like the Note 7 did! Even if you don't care about stylus use, this has got to be the flagship Galaxy phone at this point! Definitely recommend!

After a week of research, I decided to upgraded my S6 to the S8+. So far, I love my new phone. The battery life far exceeds my expectations. With the S6, I had to bring a portable charger just in case the juice ran out. I've never had to recharge my S8+ yet when I was out and about for the whole day. Love the design and how fast it is. Picture quality is great and display screen is phenomenal.

The best phone I ever used. Samsung got important components right... gorgeous design and form factor, stunning display, great camera, very good battery life and speedy phone. Even software was cleaner than previous versions of samsung skin. Few issues..fingerprint scanner placement (using samsung case helps) and s8+ will be too big for most people.
