I purchased several for Christmas gifts. One was returned for another product to connect with Amazon Dot. After reading online I chose Smartthings because of the open source compatibility.

the IoT world is still growing and developing, but I think Samsung has a winner here. Limited in a couple of ways, but at this price point, it really can't be beat

The smartthings hub is easy to setup and start using. It also has a large community of users/developers for supporting home automation devices that may not be officially supported.

I've used this successfully to automate quite a bit of my home. The default app leaves something to be desired, but you can use third party add ons or code yourself to address these.

The second generation SmartThings hub has really upped the game, providing control of most everything you could need, and more local control to prevent needing to reach out to the internet to simply turn lights on or off. Setup was easy, requiring only a few minutes to download the app and sign up, and plug in the hub. The app is the only shortfall here, being somewhat complex and not always intuitive. Still adding items is relatively easy and quick. SmartThings allows more customization than the Wink hub does, which I like.

I purchased this as a hub for my smart products, and it has worked effortlessly. I thought set up would be difficult, but it was not. I am pleased with my purchase.

Took it out of the box, followed the steps to set up and got everything working great. Only using for a light switch so far but plan on using for sensors etc in the future

Compared to several other systems available today the SmartThings hub from Samsung stands out as it is compatible with several other sensors and products available in the market today.

Used to have home automation through my security provider, but discontinued due to cost and constant issues with reliability. All the home automation equipment I had was zwave, so I started looking at various controllers available that could use them. After a lot of research I decided to purchase the Smarthub, and man am I happy. The equipment learned in easily and it all works flawlessly. The Smarthub also got rid of the long delays between sending a command and having the device react. With the Smarthub commands take effect immediately. Currently I have 5 lights and 2 thermostats on the Smarthub and will be adding more soon. Great product!

It does the job well done if the devices are within range of 100fts. there is some lag as everything is done in the cloud but still works pretty fast. Hapy to have one

Works very well but does not support all the smart enabled devices out there so check before you buy. Just to note it does support a lot of devices out there just not everything.

Software isn't really clear nor easy to use. Seems like a collection of fragmented technologies thrown together.
