SCUF Valor Pro Wireless – Premium Powerhouse

The SCUF Valor Pro Wireless is absolutely a premium-feeling controller. It has real weight to it, feels high-end in the hands, and performs great across the board. Build quality is top-tier, and the short-pull mechanical triggers are a sweet touch. But after two years on the Xbox Elite Series 2, the Valor Pro just isn’t as comfortable for me. The grips on the SCUF are thicker and chunkier than I prefer, and I wish the face buttons were clickier like the triggers. It would be nice if the xbox logo would light up as well. Those are personal preferences, though—nothing to do with the quality. Overall, if you don’t mind a thicker grip, the SCUF Valor Pro Wireless is a fantastic, premium controller that I can easily recommend.

You may have had a similar experience over the years. Xbox controllers used to be built for nuclear war, but the elite series 2 can't even win a battle against my TV. SCUF has replaced my yearly routine of replacing overpriced microsoft controllers to one that is anti-stick drift and has a nice feel, with paddles that glick like mouse buttons. It's so satisfying to use, and feels quite durable. The face plate comes off for easy cleaning or stick swapping. I will be staying with SCUF if they continue to make controllers this well, and with non-analog sticks that don't drift being a major selling point. Time to play some more BF6 :)

The Corsair SCUF Valor Pro Wireless controller can be used with an XBOX or PC; connected via USB or Wirelessly via BT (mobile devices) or Low Latency RF. My first impression is that it is a high quality controller, with textured rubber on the rear and smooth rubber on the front. It weighs 10.2oz (which is about 40% less than a Xbox controller 15.7 oz) and about the same size. It is a highly user customizable controller. It can either be customized via remapping profiles. Any paddle can be remapped by holding the paddle down and pressing the button you want to be saved. The included concave thumbsticks can be changed out for either a short or tall convex thumbstick. The inner paddles can be disabled or completely replaced by blank plates. The controller can also control the audio/mic from a wired headset (std 3.5mm connector), two scroll wheels handle the audio levels of the headphones and mic (without affecting windows or xbox volumes (still independent). In wired mode polling can be set to 1K (PC only). Low Latency RF polling is done at 500 poles/sec. As of today most consoles/games do not support 1K polling (but this may be coming soon). The SCUF Valor Pro also has a Companion App (now in Beta) available from the windows store (for Windows and Xbox). The companion app provides a graphic interface to remapping all paddle/button remapping. I found that you must use the controller to navigate the app (you can't use mouse or trackpad to control/interface with the app). Besides this the app performed as expected (no issues I discovered). Connecting the controller to your device is easily done using the included USB-C to USB-A cable to an XBOX or PC using the XBOX or PC (or BT) switch on the bottom of the controller. Then press and hold the Nexus (Xbox logo) until you are connected. To connect with Low Latency RF, connect the included RF dongle to the Xbox or PC via a USB-A port. Then press and hold the Nexus (Xbox logo) until you are connected. To connect via Bluetooth select the BT button on the controllers bottom and press and hold the Nexus (Xbox logo) until you are connected. You will then need to go to the Bluetooth setting and select the Valor Pro Wireless Controller and you can then play via Bluetooth (you have to connect within 20s). I tried the BT on my PC and iPhone and both worked as expected. I tried both with Asphalt Legends and RaceRoom games. Both platforms worked as expected. Here I have to say how responsive the controller was in wired mode... very impressive. Instantaneous responsiveness. BT was prompt but not instantaneous. The feel of the controller is excellent, the lighter controller felt great. I used the 'built in' Racing profile and out of the box it was 95% of what I'd have wanted. I re-mapped the "Y" and "A" buttons to be shift up/shift down and it worked as I wanted it. I do want to also commend Corsair on the quality of their documentation and the step-by-step by setup information. When I found no real documentation in the box my initial impression was how I was supposed to figure out all of the options. After using their QR code, it did a better job of walking me through the set up then any printed documentation could have. If you want a wireless controller this is probably king of the hill. If you don't care about wireless then their new wired controller is less expensive. The degree/flexibility of remapping all paddles/buttons is quite remarkable. Using their companion app any number of profiles can be defined to handle all this re-mapping.

Great controller I original bought the bfg controller and returned it to get this one. The joysticks are really nice and the triggers when locked in place have a mouse click to them as well as the bumpers. Overall i would recommend this controller.

The Valor Pro Wireless is the latest iteration of the SCUF Valor Pro controller line, but this time featuring ultra low latency wireless with the included dongle and upgraded Endurance TMR thumbsticks. After unboxing, the first thing that struck me was the premium feel of the Valor Pro, with a nice textured non slip grip and great ergonomics which is to be expected for the price point. In all black, I think the controller looks clean, easily blending in with my other controllers. However, the front faceplate is removable allowing you to easily change out the look and also swap out the d-pad or thumbsticks. The real star here being the Endurance TMR sticks which are an improvement on the popular hall-effect sensors, known for their precision and durability. The TMR sticks feel great, like traditional analog sticks while being precise and they even have adjustable dead zones. The rear paddles are customizable, positioned well, and comfortable to use, though SCUF does provide blanks if you are not a fan. The d-pad is also good and I like that it is magnetic as well, making swapping out the button profile easy. While I wasn’t sure of the shoulder button shape initially, I found the profile of them to actually work well and it was easier to activate them without accidentally pushing the buttons when using the triggers. The triggers themselves having a unique instant mode you can flip to, which completely changes the feel and range to that of a muse click. These are amazing for shooters or really any game where you do not need the control and full range of the trigger. Oddly, I found the triggers operated as buttons and lacked variability when connecting to PC with bluetooth. Fortunately I didn’t notice this with the included low latency dongle. The Valor Pro wireless features tri-mode connectivity providing broad compatibility across Xbox, PC, and even mobile devices with the bluetooth pairing option. You can even use the controller wired for 1K Hz polling rate, though I found the dongle fast enough for me. I also don’t use wired headphones, but if you do there is on board audio control, with independent controls for chat and game volume. The Valor Pro also features multiple profiles with custom button mapping, that you can quickly swap between to match your gameplay. Though you can customize some buttons for a profile on the controller, SCUF provides a companion app as well that can fully customize the button actions, trigger sensitivity curves, stick dead zones, vibration intensity and more. Gaming with the Valor Pro has been great and it is now my preferred controller primarily thanks to great ergonomics, customization, and TMR sticks. The SCUF Valor Pro Wireless is the premium controller to get with features perfect for an enthusiast of Xbox, PC, or even mobile devices.

All these years, I’ve been using the stock Xbox controller. I never felt the need to upgrade to a controller with more buttons and functionality, but I had an opportunity to get this SCUF Valor Pro Wireless controller. Unboxing it makes it quickly apparent that it is high quality, which it should be at its MSRP. The feature I immediately noticed and felt was the mappable rear paddles. This makes games like racing SIMs easier to play since you can assign many more commands, such as paddle shifters. The ability to lock the triggers using a mechanical switch results in a crisp, satisfying “click” instead of a full-range squeezable trigger. I appreciate this since I also play pinball games quite frequently, and the crisp click is perfect for the flipper action. The rotary audio control wheels on the bottom face are a nice touch, although I really wish we could remap these to something like ABS 1-10 and Traction Control 1-10 for racing sims. It appears to be hard-coded for headset and mic volume, unfortunately. Using the controller is a pleasure, and it feels high-quality and reassuring. The non-slip grip is welcome, as my normal Xbox controller is hard plastic and slippery when gripping. Bluetooth pairing is straightforward; however, you’ll probably want to use the USB dongle for a faster response time. You can also plug it directly into your computer via USB-C and enjoy a 1000 Hz polling rate, which is instantaneous. I find that Bluetooth is the best balance of performance and convenience. So far, after a few hours of use, the battery is barely used and has plenty of time to spare. After finally upgrading my controller, I can confidently say the SCUF Valor Pro delivers a first-class experience in every way. I would feel confident recommending it to anyone wanting an upgraded experience. Docked it one star since it's really expensive for what it is.

PROS Multiple Buttons and Triggers with Near Perfect Placement Fully Configurable Anti-Drift Hall Effect Thumb Sticks Replaceable parts and switches included Restrained RGB integration Long Battery Life with USB-C charging Dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack CONS Multiple Buttons mean accidental triggers Still needs a software & firmware update or two Random missed inputs makes gameplay frustrating CONFIGURATION The Scuf Envision is configured and controlled by Corsair's iCue software. While not my favorite software, it is easy enough to use and configure the Envision. Button assignments and configurations are easy to find and require next to no learning curve. iCue has come a long way since it was first introduced back in the day and every iteration becomes more and more streamlined. Corsair includes several different modules upon installation that I wish you could opt out of prior to install. While I appreciate their efforts, I also would like to see a lighter version of the installation, without all the pre-installed monitoring components. USE Both my kid and I are PC gamers. We have tried other controllers in the past and have found limited appeal. Unintuitive software, awkward button and switch placements left us wanting and unimpressed. We both found ourselves going back to the tried-and-true Xbox controllers, whether they be the Elites or just the standard models, they are familiar and work without fault. The Scuf Envision Pro is the first controller that we can both agree gives our go-to a run for its money. Like I said earlier, other "Pro" controllers just left us disappointed. So much so, that we often didn't use them more than an hour or so and gave up. I have spent many, many hours now with the Scuf and that says a lot. The extra buttons and switches are great! There are so many more options the user now has compared to my base model controller that it actually has a learning curve. Things that I typically didn't have enough buttons or switches to make dedicated actions for, now I can. All with the easy-to-understand iCue software. Not to mention that unlike others' "Pro" models, the Envision seems like it has been made specifically for me. The buttons, switches, and triggers all fall exactly where I would normally hold the controller. From the side buttons to the underside switches, they fall perfectly where you would hold the controller while gaming. Activations are intuitive and exactly where you need them to be without readjusting your grip to make the inputs. CONS With all those buttons and switches falling exactly where you would hold the controller, I find that I often inadvertently actuate a command. Not all the time, but especially during intense action sequences, your reflexes (or at least mine) often push those buttons or switches when I didn't intend to. Secondly, the Scuf Envision still needs a firmware update. Unlike my current base model controller that absolutely never misses an input, the Scuf misses a few inputs from time to time. It isn't all the time, it is random. But it is often enough to be frustrating. I've been playing a bunch of Doom Dark Ages lately and I find that controller fails to recognize inputs, especially off the left trigger, thereby failing to raise the Slayer's shield. Additionally, while playing just last night, I noticed that controller inputs seemed to freeze for several seconds. I could not get the character to do anything on screen. I was hitting buttons, attempting to fight back and nothing was being received. This is an issue I've NEVER experienced with my previous controller. I would expect a more reliable connection from the Scuf using its dedicated 2.4GHz Slipstream connection. CONCLUSIONS Even with the random hiccups from the Scuf, it isn't enough for me to put it back in the box. I really appreciate how thoughtfully and well-designed the product is. Button placements, switch locations, everything feels, and is located, nearly perfectly. At least for me anyway. I have confidence that Corsair will continue their refinement of the Envision Pro and can squash the bugs that still plague the controller. If I were a competitive gamer, I would most likely feel differently, but as a casual gamer, that enjoys a good campaign, the Scuf Envision makes games easier and more enjoyable to play. Games like Doom Dark Ages that have combinations that require multiple and specific button combinations to perform are much easier on the Envision. That is what gaming is all about. I have found that Doom is markedly easier to play with the Scuf versus my previous base model controller. If only my skills were this easily improved. RECOMMENDED

Let me start by saying this is the best controller I have ever used, and I highly recommend it to everyone no matter if you are new to gaming or doing it competitively. The Scuf Valor Pro wireless controller is excellent in every way imaginable from the looks to feel and the customizability. The controller has a smooth matte finish on top and a gripey underneath, this is the best of both worlds for comfort and grip. Most of the buttons on the Valor pro are best in class from the bumper buttons, triggers and the thumb sticks are second to none. The bumper buttons are sensitive and remarkably close to the trigger buttons so you might get some accidental clicks, but this was not the case for me. Scuf also provides instant trigger toggles which are huge when gaming competitively. I cannot say enough about the thumb sticks, they are excellent and precise, when using them in shooters or racing games it is night and day difference from what I have now. The 4 peddle buttons in the back, of which two are macro switch and two are tactile, are great and once again best in class. The types of buttons and placement of them are huge and the Valor Pro Wireless controller has them all in the right location, so they improve response times while gaming and there is no wasted movement. Customizations is another area where the Valor Pro shines, you can change and adjust settings and create profiles to make this the only controller you need for not just your Xbox but even your PC or mobile device. Removing and changing out the thumb sticks is a breeze, I do wish the D-pad could be changed but it is a good D-pad so no complaints. There is an app that is not currently available which will provide even more customizations. Overall Scuf has done an excellent job with the Valor Pro and made it so it fits perfect in hand, allows you to adjust everything to your liking and gives you options to easily toggle between multiple gaming systems. This added with the fact that the battery lasts for up to 17 hours is amazing, and if you want you can use it plugged on a PC for the 1k polling makes it a must have.

Wow just wow is how I have to start this review. This has to be the most comfortable controller I have ever used. The soft touch rubber feeling on the front is amazing and the grip on the rear is also amazing. The controller fits so well on the hands and the tmr sticks are so precise and feel great. The back paddles are in a good spots and I’m not much of a back paddle user so I took two out and got my perfect setup. Love the fact that you can use it easily on the Xbox or pc super quickly. Did it make me a pro at fps games no not really but I definitely felt myself being more consistent as I felt I could get the game to what I wanted it to do more easily. If you’re looking for something better than the standard Xbox controller this is it. It’s packed with great features and works extremely well but the best part is how comfortable it is. I don’t know if I can ever go back to a normal controller and the best part is you can customize your look as the faceplate is removable. I highly recommend the scuf valor pro wireless controller

The 1,000 Hz Polling Makes This a Game Changer

I’ve tried many different controllers over the years and have been a big fan of Scuf for a long time. A Scuf controller is usually one of the first purchases I make when I get a new console because the back paddles are a game changer. This is especially true if you're into competitive games or just want to play at your best, as you can keep your thumbs on the sticks while moving like a boss. The feel of this controller is fantastic. I find it's just the right size and weight for my hands. It comes with normal-sized concave sticks, along with one short dome and one long dome. I installed the new ones by taking off the magnetic front cover, which has a matte, rubber-like feel for added grip when gaming. The sides also have a rubberized texture. I’m a big fan of the paddles on the back. I tend to “flick” my middle finger to hit them, whereas, with past controllers, I’d use my third and fourth finger to click instead. You can do that here as well, or you can remove the paddles entirely. You can also adjust what button each paddle is paired to on the fly, and the controller supports three different profiles. The primary buttons are all membrane, and the D-Pad seems a bit small. It's super easy to turn the quick triggers on or off. The LB and RB buttons come along the top and wrap into the sides a bit, making them easier to hit. All the buttons feel super solid and crisp. This is one of the best, if not the best, controllers I’ve used. Performance is great. I particularly like the 1,000 Hz polling rate on PC. I've gotten so used to a mouse and keyboard at higher polling rates that using a controller is usually not a fun experience due to the much higher latency. On PC, at least, that issue is resolved, and I find myself being a lot more accurate and effortless in games, just like I am with a mouse and keyboard. And is the biggest selling point for me and why my other controllers aren’t as fancy. I don’t use this function at all, but the 3.5 mm port with dials for both game and chat volume is a very nice feature. The USB-C port at the top holds cords very snugly, so it doesn’t feel like it's going to fall out easily. Though, if you were to drop it, that same tightness might be a point of failure. I’m also a big fan of the matte black finish. I found the sticks to be very accurate, with even the most subtle movements being picked up accurately. There's no stick drift… yet, but I haven’t had enough time to test that out thoroughly. The switch on the back to go from Bluetooth to PC to Xbox is awesome. It's just a very well-laid-out controller, where comfort, feel, and performance are all in the S-Tier category. The included charging cable could have been longer, and I would have liked more stick options to come with it. Having a 1,000 Hz polling rate wirelessly and on the Xbox console would also be fantastic (but we aren’t there yet). I usually play plugged in, so I can’t talk about battery life. Overall, this is an easy recommendation from me. This is my go-to controller from here on out and the best Scuf controller I’ve tried.

The SCUF Valor Pro is a wireless controller for the Xbox or PC. Economically it is very comfortable and feels great in the hands when gaming. The first thing that I noticed was how light and reactive the thumb sticks were. That may be attributed to them being made out of a more thinner plastic material. Time will tell how long they will last. You do get an extra set included in the box along with an extra set of rear paddles which feel very good and clicky like a mouse but I can’t say the same for the face buttons. The face buttons have too much play for me, coming from another controller with face buttons that react like mouse clicks feels much better to me personally. The trigger buttons are very light and smooth and when you lock them to get a shorter trigger feel they feel very tight and clicky the way I prefer. In the box you’ll also get a usb dongle and a braided usb c charging cable. You have multiple ways to connect to your source via Bluetooth, low latency wireless and ultra fast wired. The SCUF Valor Pro also has 1k Hz polling rate for faster inputs. Adjusting other controller settings is easy with the SCUF app. Changing the thumb sticks and rear paddles are easy. You can also purchase faceplates and thumb sticks to customize the look of your controller.

The SCUF Valor Pro Wireless feels incredible in hand, with grips that keep it secure and comfortable through long gaming sessions. The build quality is premium and perfectly balanced — it feels solid without being heavy. Battery life is impressive, lasting multiple sessions before needing a charge. The wireless connection stays strong with zero lag. Easily one of the best controllers I’ve used for Xbox.

I’ve had a fair bit of game controllers over the years and it never fails that eventually at least one of the thumb sticks starts to drift. I’ve had one controller with Hall Effect and have wished more controllers had them. Now I have this one with Tunneling Magnetoresistance (TMR) and I think I might like them a bit better. I can’t quite explain it, but they feel a bit more snappy and precise. But, technically they should still last a lot longer than the default potentiometers of most standard controllers. Only time will tell, but since they are like the Hall Effects in the sense that they are using magnets instead of physical connections, they shouldn’t have those issues. As for the controller in general, it is about 6g heavier than my original Series X controller but feels so much better in hand. The rubberized grips and the shape of the extra buttons on the back just rest perfect in hand. If you don’t like the extra buttons, you can pop the two middle ones out and replace them with flat caps. The other two flow seamlessly into the grip. The A/B/X/Y buttons are regular membrane like the standard controllers, the RB/LB are like mouse clicks and the RT/LT you can flip a switch and take it instantly from analog to digital, like you have two more mouse buttons. In the center back of the controller you have the profile button which can switch between 3 on board profiles and be used to program the paddles on the fly. The different profiles can include the programming of the buttons, the stick response and deadzones, with lowest of 4%, trigger response and deadzones and vibration. All changed through the app on PC and/or Xbox. The app is currently in beta, so you have to get it on PC through the Microsoft Store first, then you can install it on Xbox with the same account. One odd thing that threw me off is that you have to have the controller in Xbox mode while using the app, even on a PC. But, then you can switch it back to PC which then the audio settings change to Valor Pro instead of Xbox Controller. It works on PC in either mode, it’s just how Windows recognizes it. Speaking of the audio, it has a 3.5mm jack and two scroll wheels. The left one is for audio and the right one is for chat/game mix, which only seems to work on the Xbox. But, both of them can be pushed in with the left one instantly muting audio and the right muting the microphone. Personally, I found the audio level to get reduced a fair bit when listening through the controller versus straight to my PC. But, having the simple mute option is handy regardless. On the Xbox the mix works fine. Overall, with this controller, it has certainly helped up my game. The extra paddles are easy to program and use while being able to quickly switch between different profiles. The app, though a bit of a task to get working, helps really refine everything about it. Whether you are using it for PC, Xbox or something like the Quest over Bluetooth, you are in control.

I love the position of the back buttons on my Scuf instinct pro. Unfortunately I have had 2 controllers get stick drift and I'm currently having a warranty one sent to me for the second time in a year. I decided I would try the valor pro being the buttons are in the same spot, and this has tmr sticks. This controller feels really good in my opinion. I have bought and returned several controllers with hall effect sticks as I could never get my aim to be as good. I only play Call of Duty/ Warzone and this controller seems to be pretty good with a few tweeks. Unfortunately to get the xbox dedicated app, you need to have a windows PC to download it. After downloading it on your computer it can be found on your xbox. It is not in the store for xbox. So thats annoying and another step, but its worth it. Ive had it for about 2 weeks and have had 2 out of the blue disconnects. I dont know why. It is sure nice not having stick drift though. Just be sure to update the controller after obtaining the xbox app. I would recommend and probably buy another one.

Good controller overall, I like the dpad a lot. The grip texture feels great and premium. Ergonomics are good just not exactly to original Xbox controller. Joysticks are decent just feel a little too lose for my liking, I like more tension. Back paddles are easily accessible but the 2 smaller ones take some time getting used to. Software still in beta, works but still needs some qol fixes. It can get buggy sometimes where your mouse pointer would disappear. Better controller than the Razer v3 pro Xbox controller in my opinion.

I swapped the instinct pro for this controller. I will say this is better feeling and more robust in hand than the IP, but I found the large “paddles” stiffer to activate than the IP. The instinct pro was a great controller (though felt cheaply made) but no built in battery is a no go IMO. After a few days of using the Valor pro, I found myself going back to my elite 2. I saw no real difference with the TMR sticks but I did not use if long enough to see if it helps eliminate stick drift. I’ll be returning this soon to BB (thank you total tech) but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad controller, it just didn’t work out well for me. I say buy it and give it a shot.

Love this controller! I play a lot of FPS games, and having the programmable buttons on the bottom has been a game-changer! I have had two elite controllers before this. I was having some stick drift issues with the Elite controllers and decided to spend the money to get this controller because of the apparent anti-stick drift claim. Read a ton of reviews and then decided to pull the trigger. Having a bunch of rewards to use softened the blow of the very pricey controller but worth it so far.

Feels great to hold, works well since I have larger hands. Changing profiles or connection types (xbox/ pc/ bluetooth) is easy. Negatives are that the instructions offer little to no help on how to perform functions like remapping buttons. Also having an issue where the controller will just stop accepting inputs from both joysticks and the dpad, but all other buttons work. Restarting sometimes helps.

I’ve been using the SCUF Valor Pro Wireless, and overall, it really does feel like a high-end controller built for serious gaming. The drift-resistant TMR sticks are one of the biggest highlights is that they feel precise and smooth, and I love knowing they’re built to last. I also like having multiple ways to connect, whether it’s the low-latency 2.4GHz dongle, Bluetooth, or just plugging in with USB-C. The four rear paddles and instant triggers have been great for shooters, and the grip and overall build quality feel premium. Being able to tweak everything in the SCUF Companion App, from stick sensitivity to button mapping, really helps dial it in. That said, it’s not perfect. The paddle placement feels a little awkward for my hands, and the sticks felt stiff until I adjusted the settings. Bluetooth isn’t super reliable on PC, so I mainly stick to the 2.4GHz dongle. I’ve also noticed some small quirks with audio when using a wired headset, which lines up with what other users have mentioned. Battery life is fine, but nothing amazing. Still, even with those issues, I really like using the Valor Pro Wireless; it feels like a controller built for performance, and once I tuned it to my liking, it became a strong part of my setup.
