This plug works great for the purpose it was designed for. I am most interested in the energy meter functionality though and suggest that you also make a version that just does that and does not have the relay to switch power. This would be the EM Mini Gen 4 in a plugable format.

OK - I got the Gen4 plug mainly for direct control via the web interface for when my Matter platform controller is not responding, but was surprised to find that even when added to my Apple Home using the matter QR code I was still able to access the web interface on my home LAN on a DHCP assigned IP. Additionally, power consumption is not exposed via Matter, but does appear both directly at the web interface and via the Homeassistant integration. In short - pleased with the improvements since the Gen2 2PM and the PRO EM I have in use. It's unclear if firmware updates will become available through Apple Home's Matter controller, or if firmware updates will need to be installed via the web interface or other means. "Firmware ID" appears as 20251021-123843/gc6531a3 Which displays as "1.3.0-s1" on the Matter side... which is far earlier than other Shelly Matter firmware releases. As mentioned, Shelly Matter releases based on Matter 1.2 do not support power measurements. The Shelly API Docs for this device are next to useless in describing what level of "matter" is supported. For comparison I'm testing the plug using both the bridged Homeassistant integration and the direct Matter connection.

These are my first Shelly products, like them very well so far. Very compact, good features. Ordered two more...

Very simple setup. I really like the on/off leds to visually confirm power state. The ability to disable the physical switch is also I nice feature I utilize. The power monitoring has been spot on and very convenient on my dashboard. I will be saving a lot of power with theses units

They work very nicely. I am able to turn on or off devices remotely and see how much energy they are using.
