Works great! We love the photo frame feature and the subscription for the chores and reminder options is great! The only issue we’ve had is that it stopped working and had to replace the power plug.

Not very many options available for convenience. For instance you can’t have recurring events that are adjustable like a nurse works 3 shifts a week on different days not every week is the same, if there was an options to edit events to make adding 7am-7pm events on certain days and an option to delete make one day if needing to switch days without having to delete the entire event and start over. It’s not thought out very well it’s basically like a big outlook calendar which is already free on iPhone, if I’m paying 200 bucks for a nice digital calendar then I would expect lots of features you can’t even see the whole month’s events because the fonts are just 3 sizes. If you have more than 4 things in one day you have to click on each day individually just to see what’s going on the particular day.

Welcome to Organization, taming multi-device synch

Having a multi-platform household with voice command devices from 3 major platforms, and a couple of screens from one of those, but mobile phones and laptops from a different platform is a recipe for chaos. So having one place to combine and collate, organize, and put it all on one timeline seems like magic. Certainly calendars are the backbone of the product, with date, time, and the person involved via color coding is clearly displayed, at a glance. Items can be added via your phone, the Skylight mobile app, or on the frame itself. You can quickly with a single click see a list of all of your own schedule entries It was actually easy to use the physical frame for entry, as the touchscreen keyboard was quite accurate, and gave a confirmatory “click” with each touch. Calendars and persons were color coded to make it easy to focus on the items that were your most pressing concerns. This is much superior to having to visually scan all the entries, or to require your family to use different colors Dry Erase pens for the white board. Grocery list to add items through the week, which pairs nicely with the Meal Planner which can announce for all viewers the entrée for upcoming dinners. Chore/project/task list, for the children or handy persons in the household, as reminders and a scorecard, as they can be checked off once completed. These can be assigned a “weekly” status to automate repeating actions so that memory does not whittle down oversight of the list, and keeps the list authentic. The calendar will import your entries automatically from any one of your devices, once you have set up a synch with your calendars. Whatever device you are using to enter a new item: your phone (Android or iPhone), your computer (iCal on Apple, Google Calendar, or Outlook on Windows), Yahoo! calendar, Chromebook, or the free Cozi family calendar app. I did note that having a “shared” calendar with my spouse, and having both my phone and her phone linked to the Skylight seemed to automatically duplicate on the Frame two entries of the same event. I need to experiment how to fix this. I am supposing it can be remedied by removing the linkage from one of the two phones to the Skylight. I will query customer support for how best to do this. The iPhone mobile app was very easy to install and activate the Skylight Frame. All of it seemed very well engineered. A new version was available in only a couple of days after I had installed, upgrading to version 1.61.1. Looking at the version history it seems they are very active with updates; at least twice a month! That (to me, at least) speaks to a responsive and engaged support team; although it could also be due to an initial app that was plagued with lots of bugs, I suppose. However the very high satisfaction Star count on the App Store seemed to support the former theory. There were over 32,000 reports on the App Store, with a score of 4.8 out of 5! So that speaks volumes to me about the ease and power of the device and its linked app. The mobile app is synchronized with all the other calendars, so you get real time updates as events are added or altered, to the Frame and any linked devices. So a new item on the grocery list shows up on your phone Skylight app, even if you are already at the grocery store when it is added. Color categories makes it easy to discern which items need your personal awareness You can choose to view a day, week, or month view. Scrolling forward in a day or to the next month, is a swipe of the finger on the screen, all very intuitive. The Frame is very substantial, rather heavy, giving a sense of a sturdy and durable build quality. However, that also makes me a bit hesitant about wall mounting, although wall anchors and stout screws were provided. The metal “kick stand” was well machined and had well placed padding to keep it stable and to avoid scratching of a wooden table top. installing the mobile app and linking the various iCal calendars (Apple products were my only foray, no Android phones in our home) was very simple. The screen warned to allow for a certain length of time for the synchronization to finish, so I just let it run and came back to it later. Linking my wife’s calendars and installing the app on her phone was very easy, and the entries she makes on the phone’s calendar (the app she is used to) automatically arrive on the Skylight App and Frame, without having to change her routine or learn a new system. Almost magic. There is a subscription option, named Skylight Photo Plus plan, that I have not used. This Plan allows the Calendar Frame to be an automatic sequential digital photo frame, similar to the many such items for this function. There is, with this $39 annual extra subscription, the ability to send photos and video clips to a remote frame via email or the app. You can also add captions to your photos, but at the expense of some of the real estate used for the photograph. The Plus Plan also adds the “Magic Import” function. The import option allows you to add important school dates to your calendar by simply forwarding any email or PDF containing dates. Then remotely Skylight will automatically convert the dates from the text into events on your Calendar. The monthly fee for this was my stumbling block to activating it, since the other smart displays that we have in our house have linked photo galleries that do NOT charge a monthly fee. You can send photos to the Skylight App with the basic frame, without paying for the Plus Plan. That way you can explore the photo feature on your own, before you commit for the extra features. But if you try to view these on your Skylight Frame, with the tempting “Photos” icon along the left edge, you get a paywall explaining that you need to subscribe. You are able to send your photos to anyone who has a Skylight Calendar Frame. So you could keep the whole family up to date on your tribe and activities. I am assuming that they would need to pay the monthly fee as well; so a gift that requires them to shell out $40/year might be a mixed blessing. Just be aware, unless you pay for the first couple of years… The photos can be sent via the Skylight app, with the choice of either your phone’s camera for a live shot, or selecting from the photo archive on your device. Or you can go to your photo library and email it to them via an attachment sending it to: <your calendar name>@ourskylight.com . This could make the Skylight Frame a cherished gift to the extended family. The photo montage feature versus the calendar view is toggled on/off with a single tap of the settings gear icon in the upper right corner. And the screen can be dimmed off via a schedule easily set. In summary, this is the best I’ve seen in a synchronized calendar and organization tool for a multi-user group. The add-on option of a smart and flexible digital photo frame for both still photos, with captions, and video clips is optional, but would become more compelling if your remote family members also had Skylight Frame/Calendars. I would definitely recommend this to a friend, and am sending my daughter one for their family with three sons in the middle school/high school range!

Excellent Smart Calendar with Room for Improvement

My family really relies on using our digital calendar to add all the things going on in our lives, events, and more. The Skylight Calendar brings a stylish yet minimalist way to bring that to the forefront of your home and it's been really great to use! PROS: - Unboxing showcased a nice tablet like device with a few mounting / stand options for where you want to locate it. The smart calendar is plug in operated so it has to be plugged in at all times so you know. - Setup is really easy but it is essential you have Skylight's companion app. That is how you will import your calendar and set everything up. But all in all a smooth easy setup process! - Once setup, the Skylight Calendar looks fantastic in our home. It's nice and bright (you can manually adjust or auto adjust) and the colors of different events or tasks pop on the screen. - On the calendar, I like the different views you can have (month, week, schedule, etc) so you can get the immediate next few days picture or the big monthly picture. - Something subtle but really nice to me, the Skylight calendar syncs colors from my Gmail calendar to the Skylight calendar. As in if I put all my "sports" things as yellow in Gmail, it will mark them yellow in the Skylight app. Something a lot of other third party calendar apps have issues with for some reason. - The Chore and task list is also a really nice feature that I think looks great and is easy to use! Of course you can update these lists on your phone or on the tablet directly. CONS: - I really think the Skylight is a nice device, but when it comes down to it, this is a $300 tablet that shows you your calendar, chores, and lists. Which I think is great, but I think it has room to do so much more than it currently can. At the time some of the things I think it is missing - being able to draw messages, syncing task list with your Apple / Google task list, dark mode, being able to stream TV/Movies/Music, building out the app so you can update the Skylight device settings from your phone, and more customization. - All of my "issues" though are simply things I think Skylight could do via app updates so that is a positive however! BOTTOM LINE: - The Skylight Calendar is a great way to visualize all the things my family is up and keeps us more organized while looking high quality doing so. I think their is room for improvements by adding more functionality to the device - but for now it still does exactly what I need it to do!

I must say I was super excited to see a digital calendar like skylight that can be placed anywhere in my home. I thought it was a wonderful concept! Throughout the years I have been normally accustomed to utilizing my mobile device's calendar to try to stay organized. I have even tried to have those wall decal calendars that can be placed wherever you want and then you can write with a dry erase marker what you have planned throughout the month. I barely used it, which was a waste! In a modern world where everything is much more digital who has the time to hand write all of the to-do list, chores and all of the important appointments, meetings and anything that's planned for the month/months ahead? Definitely not me! I have three kids and my day to day week to week schedule can be quite busy! The skylight calendar has become my personal assistant. I like that I was able to wall mount my skylight calendar and it's great that you can also have it as a desktop. Set up was super simple! I immediately downloaded the skylight app and was able to sync my gmail account to the calendar. I really like that with my gmail and the skylight being synced if I'm on the go anything I add to my phone's calendar; it is immediately on my skylight calendar. It's also great that the app allows you to add your to-do list and chores. The app is really helpful! My kids like seeing the calendar and learning about our upcoming plans, appointments. My five year old daughter is learning about the days of the week and the months as well as time. This calendar has been very helpful in many ways! The only con is that to have photos on the skylight calendar you have to pay for a subscription. Other than that the calendar by itself is well worth it! It is definitely keeping me much more organized and it's making the process of adding things to my calendar fun as well as the to-do lists and chores.

    A great electronic calendar

The Skylight Calendar is a great electronic calendar. Paired with an app that works quite well we now have a family calendar on the wall in thr kitchen. The calendar is powered by an electrical plug. The cord is quite long making it fairly certain you can mount it near any receptacle. It comes with a hefty counter stand or an equally well made wall attachment. We mounted ours on the wall so that it can be seen daily. The calendar is 15 inch wide. The touch screen function is flawless. The colors are very rich. The fontvis clear and crisp. Calendar entries can be made through the app, linked with the major calendars including Google and Samsung calendar. The calendar links to you by wifi. You can hand type calendar entries right from the calendar itself. The calendar comes with the ability to color code entries for different family members. The calendar is very attractive. It is bright and comes with light controls. Other functions can have the calendar go into a set sleep mode to save energy. Unfortunately, Skykight hides some functions beyond a paywall. For some people that may not be a problem. To me, it is aggravating to own products that I must continually pay for to use all functions. For me it is a disappointment resulting in a 1 star deduction. Overall I like the calendar very much. It is very popular in our house. Just know for some features you will pay a monthly or annual fee. The calendar features are free for your purchase price. The photos and that go behind the paywall. If you can live with that, and I can, so I recommend it.

Relax With the Skylight Calendar, Organized Tech

I can always be better organized, but it can be difficult with so many things going on. Our lives are busier than ever as I work hard to be early at doctor’s appointments, movie show times, date nights and sport games just to name a few. I know I don’t want to miss any events that I am supposed to be at, but the right dates and times can be confusing. This is why I am grateful for Skylight Calendar. I select the person, day, date and time. It alerts me when the latest appointments are coming up and makes sure I get there on time. My daily, weekly and monthly schedule is not a stack of appointments cards anymore. It is organized by the Skylight Calendar that takes the risk, stress and missed appointments out of my life. The Skylight Calendar is easy to activate, operate and use every day or multiple times a day. First off you pick your Wi-Fi and download the app. Then you will have to Activate your Skylight Calendar with a 6-digit code from an email you make using the Skylight Calendar guidelines. Once that is done, verify all your emails and passwords are correct. Now at this point you need to setup your parameters or “settings” using the “gear icon.” It is located at the bottom left side on the calendar. At this point you can sync your calendars using the starting sharing events, doctor appointments, etc. You can also sync holidays or special national events like: Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Cinco de Mayo, Presidents Day, etc. Some information on the Skylight Calendar: Storage space is 32GB, which is plenty to keep your calendar dates for your needs. The physical dimensions are 15.8” W x 9.9” H x 1.4” D. Metal/plastic pieces and 9 screws come with the Skylight Calendar that allows you to choose to put it on the wall or standup on the countertop. I choose the Desktop of the front room because I have the most (in the family appointments) of all kinds’ events, doctors, and family chores. The stand is only four screws and the two surface pieces that touch the desktop surface are rubberized so no marks and it is a stable setup. The actual screen size is 15” non-glaring touch screen with the resolution of 1920 x 1080. Perfect for me because of the windows that face the Skylight Calendars screen. I get no glare at all and love this feature. The Skylight does not run on batteries. It has to be plugged in to be used. Usually, calendars don’t move anyway so this for me was not a big deal. There are three buttons on the top middle part of the frame: a left arrow button, power button and a right arrow button. Their purpose is to help navigate you through the calendar. I am glad that they are larger than most buttons that I have experienced with the left, right and power buttons. In the App, you can choose from these categories to use for your convenience to use: Calendars, Chores, Photos, Lists, Sync, Categories, Share and Notifications. These options on your App help you stay up to date on the latest happenings. The Skylight Calendar does have a learning curve. The good news that it is not a big one! It will take a couple of times to remember how to make events, choose a person who attends, the day, date and time on the Skylight but what computerized calendar doesn’t? Syncing took a little time for me to do. I tried around six times and then finally was able to sync to another calendar on another computer. Really cool feature. Let’s choose a person (chore) who will do some yard work. First of all, I select the big + circle which brings up the chore insert. The order of things go as follows: Chore – Louis; Date – Tuesday, April 30 @ 1:05pm; assigned to – Louis; no repeats. Lastly touch the “save” bubble on the lower right of the screen to place the event. If you would like to see the event, sync it or go to the corresponding date (April 30), Louis and his events should be listed if you touch the date they do work on. Repeat the process and you can stay on top of your day, week and month with the Skylight Calendar. Don’t forget to “sync” from your smart phone App so you can see it on the calendar. If you would like to see the “Event” on the calendar without opening that specific date, here is what you need to do. Click on the calendar day you want to post an “Event.” Type in the “Event” area as guided and be sure to save it. When you are done with this simple process, your “Event” will show up on the Calendar. Chores on the other hand are a bit more difficult but nothing to worry about to get them listed. Once you touch the day of the chore, just follow the guidelines and populate the fields for chores. Save the information you have put on chore. I saved a chore and as far as I can tell, the only to see it on a specific date, is to click on that day. After the day is selected you can see all the chores for that day. They don’t show up on the calendar, but you can still retrieve the information on the by touching the day you are interested in. One of the last steps to look at is the “lists.” I created a grocery list. I typed in the food I wanted: ham, lettuce, American Cheese, keto bread. A second list is the “to do list.” I typed in the things I needed to get done in the week: Mowing the lawn, Picking up Pizza and Gas up the vehicle. After each entry, touch “Add” and the “To do the List” will populate. For an additional fee, you can have photos placed as a screen saver. It’s a cool feature to have and it makes modern tech more seem a little less daunting and more family friendly. It is not necessary but it nice to have. I have Skylight Calendar and could add photos but that is not for me, but I can see it coming in handy on a different calendar. Just about everyone can benefit from organization. The Skylight Calendar can do the organization that keeps stress, anxiety or worry at bay. You can take comfort in knowing what you have to do for the day, week or month.

The Skylight 15-inch Calendar and Chore Chart is a touchscreen device that helps organize my family’s busy schedule in one easy to access place. Pros: • Packaging – The packaging is minimal yet adequately protects the product during shipping and almost everything in the box is recyclable. • Quick setup – The Skylight comes with wall mounting hardware (including wall anchors/screws) as well as a table stand. Until I decide on a permanent wall location, I went ahead and installed the table stand. The stand allows for a small gap between the bottom of the monitor and the table so the power cord can run underneath in case the power outlet is not located directly behind the monitor. This worked great in my case since I have a two-tier kitchen island and the monitor sits above the outlet. Once you power on the calendar it asks you to connect to Wi-Fi. This was straightforward and it connected without issue. Then it will ask you to download the Skylight App and give a QR code on the screen. While you don’t have to use the app to access the device and can go to the web address instead, I think the app is user friendly and makes syncing with the calendar convenient since everything is already on my phone. You will get an activation code and choose your skylight email (used for various purposes such as syncing subscription/read only calendars). • App User Interface – The app is well designed and user friendly. It gives directions for how to sync multiple different types of calendars (ie: Google, Outlook, iCloud, subscribed calendars/read only calendars, Yahoo, etc), add chores and lists, and share access to the calendar with family/friends. • Chore chart – I especially like the ability to assign and track household chores. It helps with accountability and to see what still needs to be done for the week. Cons: • Screen FOV – The field of view for the screen is not great. If you stand at a 30-45 degree angle, the screen is quite blurry and hard to read. • Lack of support for certain calendars – I tried to add my work calendar from QGenda using the subscription/read only URL per the directions in the app but received an error stating it wasn’t supported. If you find you have difficulty adding a specific calendar, try adding it to google or apple and then syncing that calendar instead. • Subscription Plus Service – Almost every electronic device wants to add a “subscription service” and the Skylight calendar is no different. The price is steep for what is being offered (being able to turn the calendar into a digital photo frame when not in use and being able to forward a pdf/email containing dates for automatic input into the calendar). If you use Google calendar for example, it will automatically add events/flights/etc. to the calendar which you can then sync to the Skylight calendar for free. Overall, the Skylight is a great device with a few areas for improvement. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to simplify and organize their busy schedule.

    Fabulous Idea and Execution

I am in love with this Skylight Calendar 15" touchscreen smart calendar. This calendar can do so much more than just be an electronic calendar that syncs to your smartphone's calendar, other calendars, if you have the URL to direct it to, or if none of those apply you, can do direct entry into the Skylight calendar. My husband is a retired 71 year old that does not have a smartphone, but nevertheless has all sorts of appointments and he was always asking me to tell him what was scheduled for the day. Well, he can now see all of his schedule on this device since it is centrally located on my kitchen counter. By the way, you use different colored dots to categorize the appointments for the events and appointments within your household. Therefore, no matter how many individuals, pets, elderly parents, etc. you wish to track, this display has an easy method to chart and display all the events and appointments that are relevant to one's life. Where to begin. So, the product comes with a 15" screen, an electric power adapter that connects into your wall's socket, a quick-start guide, and 2 ways to display this device-either by an easel-like stand that attaches to the back of the unit or a plate with screws and anchors that can be mounted to the wall and thereby used to hang the frame. I opted to use the easel-like stand to make it portable The physical set up, as well as software, and connection to WIFI were seamless and easy. Most of these aforementioned items and processes are fairly intuitive. Beware that this is another app-guided product so if for some reason the owner does not have a smartphone or loses their phone, that might be a no go or a no use period until the phone is replaced. In fact, there is a barcode to scan to get the app on page 4 of the quick start guide and this works for all makes of phones. As you proceed through the account set up, you will need to use not only your own email for receipt of messages of set up, but also the receipt of an electronic version of the "User Manual" that is very detailed that I saved to my desktop computers at home and work for ease of access. You also need to create a user id that ends with @ our skylight.com. Almost as soon as you are progressing through the set up, the tutorial will ask you if you wish to purchase a photo plus plan, discounted for an annual payment vs. monthly payments, to make this not only a calendar, but also a digital frame that goes into a slideshow presentation when in screensaver mode. Pictures can be emailed to the Skylight calendar or uploaded through the mobile app, which is what I do. Oh, you can also add photo subtitles to make it fun and share the photos with friends and family by text, email, or even print. These photos can either come from the gallery or you can take a new photo right then. A simple tap on the screen takes it back from screensaver back to calendar. This subscription can be canceled at any time. A couple of quick impressions. On the back page of my Quick Start Up guide, there is an error in directions for Multiple Calendar Views that drove me buggy until I called the toll free 855 customer service number that I Googled for Skylight. You can adjust your calendar's display to either daily, weekly, or monthly . However, It says that in order to do so, the adjustment is in the top left corner. No, it is in the top right corner and with a simple tap or touch on the arrow facing down, it expands into daily, weekly, or monthly to which you pick which one that you prefer and then you touch calendar on the left side of the screen to lock in your choice. This calendar also can display and chart the progression of chores and whose responsibility they are, and the creation of customizable lists for groceries, to-do, etc. that is then synced to the Skylight phone app so those lists then become portable as you go about your day outside of the home or work, wherever you set up this device. The only somewhat negative I feel is that I believe that the $39.99 annual photo plan fee that I paid is high for a digital frame and after so many years it will cost quite a bit to make this device be multi-functional. There is a 2 year warranty and unlimited access to Skylight's toll free 855 number if you have tech issues or set up problems for no fee. That is a big plus for me, too.

In all honesty, there probably will never be a single fix for all of my overwhelm, but I truly see a path through some of my family's daily chaos with device... it also helps that it's really pretty to look at! We are entering the month of May, and for my family that's really the second busiest time of year, only after the start of/return to school in August, and I feel like there's a dozen things happening at every moment. This is a month where I travel, for work, and having a way to coordinate with my husband and kids about "field days" and "special outfit days" and all of the various things that we are supposed to keep track of... whoa, but I can really see this helping A LOT. I have to admit that in all honesty, as excited as I was about getting this device, I was a bit overwhelmed upon opening... I worried it may be one more project to add to the currently boiling list. When I opened it up, I found that the weight was surprising which made me a little nervous because I have boys and pets and a lot of chaos, more often than not. I found that most of the weight ended up being the metal stand and wall mount, though, which I greatly appreciate for safety and security! I also REALLY appreciate that while only two screws are needed to attach each piece, three are provided, because life. I do feel like this product was made with folks like me in mind and I find those sort of simple details to be really special. I intend to use the wall mount, soon, but we're also in the midst of some home projects, so while I'm setting everything up, I have it standing in my office and I just could not be more impressed by the look of it and the entire UX! It was a tiny bit of a project to download the app and connect it to my calendars but it all worked together so smoothly that I was amazed! Nothing ever seems to work this smoothly lately! I have some more set up to work on, but I've already "geeked out" on assigning our family members colors (including our fuzzy family members) and I'm really excited about continuing to build this out!

As a newlywed, new small business owner, step-parent and dog parent, it can be a lot trying to navigate the demands of life. Being able to keep up with different schedules, appointments, and also grocery shopping and who’s turn it is to do a chore can seem nearly impossible some days. Enter the skylight camera. This nifty smart calendar has been a convenient lifesaver in my household, and receives daily use. Out of the box you will need a small screwdriver to be able to put the stand together to rest on a counter, or you can also mount it to any wall, but I chose the former. You have to download the app on your phone, begin the setup process which was fairly easy. I did have difficulty getting my iPhone calendar do synch with the device despite following the instructions step by step, and made my calendar public and emailed it to the email I setup my Skylight household with. You have multiple calendars to choose from like yahoo, and google, but icalendar was the only one I had an issue with so that was the reason for the loss of star. If you want to be able to use it as a digital picture holde of sorts you have to sign up for, and pay for a subscription which I chose not to do at this time. There is no free trial available. Overall being able to have everyone’s calendar, appointments, and shopping lists in one place with a sleek display has been great and I really appreciate having the skylight calendar.

The Skylight Calendar has made my life run so much smoother. Bouncing from work, school, kids, and drs appt can definitely get really hectic and stressful. Having The Skylight Calendar has really helped me stay focused and organized. Adding events, and chores was very simple. The Calendar is easy to use and displays everyone's schedule. You can color code so you know who is who. The app is also helpful because from there you can add events, delete, and edit without doing it from the calendar device itself. You can also get notifications if you want. The cool feature is that everyone can sync in and add events to the calendar. This is amazing since you don’t have to constantly ask, they can just add it. The Skylight calendar can be mounted on the wall or set it on the counter. I went ahead and set it up on the wall by my desk. There is a subscription you can get for $3.99(I purchased it just to try it) which allows you to send the pictures that you have on your phone or videos and they appear on the display of the calendar, for $3.99, it's a bit much and definitely not necessary. For the price point of this device that should’ve been already included. The display is nice and big enough, the touchscreen is precise. It also displays time and weather conditions. I recommend this product to anyone looking to stay on top of their busy life.

Well designed display for family calendar and tasks. App works well. Easy for kids to use and motivating icons for chores. Wish there was a way to use meal planning without subscription. Nice size for the kitchen.

    Easy to setup Family Calendar

The Skylight Calendar does exactly what it says. Brings a family’s calendars together. It's a nice size, 15", plenty big to even see items on a month scale. It comes in a frame so it doesn't look like a tablet, but something that can blend in as a picture on a wall. It's a tablet that only focuses on being a calendar, you can’t use it as a regular tablet. Setup was easy. Just plug in the tablet and start the setup process. One drawback is it does not use a standard USB interface for charging, but a barrel plug. So, you can’t use an extra port an USB charger for instance. Once plugged in the setup starts. You can also use the app to make setup easier, and easily invite other people to share in populating the calendar. Popular calendars like Google, Outlook, iCloud, Cozi, Yahoo, and Hotmail are preconfigured and easy to setup with a login. You can also use a URL for a public facing calendar and ingest its events. Lots of options to get information into the calendar. The app will also look for calendars available on the phone or tablet you are on. In addition to ingesting calendars, it can also add its own events such as chores, or lists. You can create Categories to put events in. It can be bi-directional. The calendar comes with the ability to add sleep times so the screen is off, or you force it to sleep immediately. When adding events to a personal calendar, the Skylight Calendar updated within seconds. There is an option to turn the calendar into a photo frame and pull events from PDF’s, but it cost extra. The device makes adding a family’s or group of people’s individual calendars easy. It comes with everything need to hang on the wall if wanted. Only minor issue is a non-standard USB power interface. It makes it easy to add calendars and share them in one place. The screen is large and bright and easy to read. You can change the number of days shown and have alerts for upcoming events, and update from where you are through your personal calendar. This product does what it designed to do well.

When I got the product, the box was heavy. Upon opening it, the screen itself was not that heavy. It turns out the wall mount and stand are heavy. I love that about it. You will need to create an account with Skylight. You will need to give it a device name and it will create an email account such as [email protected]. You can synchronize it to different calendar services from Google, Outlook, iCloud – just to name a few. I took a screenshot of the different ways to synchronize it. You can synchronize it one-way where it is read-only mode. You can also synchronize it two-way where you can add entries from the device itself. To synchronize with Google, you must give it permission to access your calendar. On the app, it will give you a button to click on which will open your default browser to login to your Google account. It is a straightforward process. Aside from the calendar, you can create chores and lists. I added my kids’ names and assigned chores to them. For example, I created a chore called “laundry” and scheduled it every Saturday at 10am. You can have a repeat to end at a certain date as well. It has a touch screen, but it is a little sluggish. You can manage on the device itself, your phone, or the website. I prefer doing it on the website because I use my computer often. Plus, I have a bigger screen. You can subscribe to additional features called Skylight Plus where you can turn the calendar into a photo frame. You have two options: $3.99 monthly or $39.99 annually. I wish this were included with the cost of the device. It will be another subscription to manage. Since it is wifi enabled, you should be able to send it to the device directly instead of emailing it to their servers. This is probably why they are charging a fee. I also wish it had a battery, so I do not have to plug it in. Now I must find a place to display it where an outlet is nearby. Overall, it is a nice device that multiple people can use. There is room for improvement, and I hope they will consider removing the subscription for the optional service.

A Cool Way To Organize Your Family's Schedule

The Skylight Calendar is a touchscreen display that displays a calendar, chores and other lists. It's a great way for your family to keep track of all their appointments, birthdays, and other important dates at a glance. It has a built-in speaker for simple alerts, auto-brightness, a responsive touchscreen and even a sleep mode. You’ll be able to sync multiple calendars via an easy-to-use phone app that’s available on both Android and Apple phones. Using the device is also pretty easy and intuitive, and having the ability to make chore lists that family members can check off is also a wonderful feature. Here are some pros and cons that I found while reviewing the Skylight and then my overall thoughts. Pros: Easy to set up and use Elegant design Responsive, high-quality display Can be synced with several calendars, including Google, Apple, Yahoo, etc Automatically updates with your calendar events Can also be used as a photo frame Can be wall mounted or used on a counter Cons: Expensive Display could be brighter and have better viewing angles Overall: The Skylight Calendar is a big and beautiful digital frame that acts as your family’s organization center. With the capability to share multiple calendars, chore lists and to-do lists, this device will help keep your family on track and on the same page. Whether you hang it on the wall or use it on a counter, it’ll be an easy-to-use and visible place for your family to check every day. Sure, this may be a completely unnecessary device, but if you want something cool that replaces a whiteboard on the fridge, then I recommend checking out the Skylight.

The Skylight Calendar is a cool concept where you can see all your calendar events. Adding my first calendar was simple. I was able to add a gmail calendar fairly easy. Adding the second was tricky to find but I eventually was able to add another. My work calendar on exchange is giving me trouble which is what I want this for. It is not syncing at all with it. I like that you can assign chores, events or diner plans. There is a subscription service for other features which I hate that allows you to add pictures, videos ect. When I say I hate I mean I hate subscriptions to devices. They are making a feature that allows you to sync a calendar on a tv. Firestick shows up which makes me think it works with it. When I select other devices like apple tv or Samsung tv, it indicates its in development. If you want a family calendar to organize your family, this is great. If you want it for exchange, it may not be the device as it is not working for me. For me, everything this calendar offers I already have on my smart hub refrigerator and echo show.

I really enjoy using this calendar as a great way to keep our household on the same page. The ability to display photos when not in use is a fantastic touch. We prefer to keep ours on the counter because the cord hanging off the wall is a bit of an eyesore. The setup process is fairly straightforward, but I did run into some challenges with integrating the Apple iCalendar. It’s not as simple as I’d hoped, and I had to search the internet for troubleshooting tips. I ended up opting for the year membership because of the meal planning and grocery list features. While these are newer and still have a few kinks to work out, they’re a great concept and add a lot of value. Overall, I think this calendar is worth the investment. It makes it so much easier to stay organized compared to using paper calendars or whiteboards where things often get lost and aren’t accessible on the go. This device offers both simplicity and convenience, making it easy—and even enjoyable—for everyone in the house to track their schedule and stay organized.

I'm actually impressed. Setup took maybe 10 minutes—download the app, sync your Google/Apple/Outlook calendars, done. The 15" screen is big enough that my whole family can see it from across the kitchen. Best part? No more "what time is soccer?" questions every five minutes. Everyone's schedules are color-coded right there on the wall. I can add events from my phone while I'm out, and it syncs instantly. The chore chart feature actually gets my kids to do their tasks because they love checking stuff off on the touchscreen. Plus you can email PDFs directly to it—I sent my daughter's gymnastics schedule and it populated everything automatically. That's wild. You can link multiple calendars together if you want one upstairs and one in the kitchen, which is pretty slick for bigger houses. They mirror each other so changes show up everywhere. Now the downsides. You'll need the Plus subscription ($40-79/year) for the good stuff like meal planning and photo screensaver. And it's gotta stay plugged in all the time—no battery backup, which is annoying if the power goes out. The cord's long though. Also kinda heavy for wall mounting, so make sure you hit a stud. Important note: if you're mainly wanting to share photos with grandparents across the country, you actually want their Frame product instead. The Calendar can show photos as a screensaver, but it's built for scheduling. The Frame is what lets you send pics to family in other states and do the whole digital card thing. Is it a want, not a need? Absolutely. But if you've got a busy household and you're tired of being the human calendar, this thing genuinely helps. Just wait for a sale.
