Doesn't protect anything except the screen. So why would I want this?

Great fit and strong magnet. Wakes and sleeps when opened and closed. Thin and light.

This keeps my mini screen protected, and it puts it to sleep when I close it. I have it on the first version of the mini, so it's not new, and it still looks good. Am buying the same thing for the mini 4 (have to have a different size) because it's been such a good product.

I bought this for a friend, but we have one too. It offers decent protection, and is easy to attach and remove. I use the kickstand feature for watching videos and sharing content. The inside is a built in screen cleaner (works well enough to remove dust and fingerprints with a little wiping). I would use another cover if you want to protect it from falls, but this works for avoiding scratches on the screen when you throw it in a bag.

really like the fact it covers and protects the screen. my favorite feature is the magnets that allow it to sleep/wake my ipad. no need to swipe to unlock, very convenient!

Works as designed - wish there was a back cover. There hasn't been much change in design since the Ipad2 version.

This is a nice addition to an iPad Mini with Retina Display if you want to keep the screen from scratching and maintain its slim lines, without adding the extra bulk of an all-around cover which encases the back of the device. Very user-friendly, though for the price I expected the material to be a little bit nicer than what is essentially a plastic folding lid. The inside lining was nice, soft and suede-like, but if Apple had used more of a faux leather texture material on the outside than a hard obviously plastic shell, it would seem like a higher quality cover. I know they wouldn't be able to provide real leather for that price (well, maybe they could!) but that's my one quibble. Otherwise, this is a useful accessory, and one of my essentials along with car charger & screen protector.

The Apple Smart Cover is a great basic cover. Good quality, solid construction, strong magnets, etc. My only complaint is that the Black version is not black ... its gray. They should market it as Space Gray like the pod/phone/pad and avoid confusion. I wish they had a true black version.

Simple front cover for iPad mini. This model of course doesn't not protect the back. However the iPad never leaves the house.

Buying this ipad mini smart cover, I was a bit hesitant because the back was not covered. However, the more I use this case on my mini, the more I love this cover! It makes the ipad look sleek and it is able to stand up on its own. The only bad side would be that the back isn't protected, but I got a clear back protector for my ipad.

Ordered the week of Christmas and received it before the holidays! Thanks Best Buy for super fast delivery. Product was great.

I preferred the old version with the metal connection, but this one does its job.

What I like about the Smart Cover is its versatility to be a stand, to put my iPad to sleep, and frees my hand so I don't have to hold it for long periods of time while watching videos and playing some games. Plus, when you do flip the cover on the back-side of the iPad, it feels more comfortable to fold in your hands. This product makes the iPad experience better then without it.

Very disappointed in this ipad mini cover. It does protect the screen, but when used as a stand, it is worthless. It falls down continuously.

The case is okay. It protects the screen but comes off quite often. Not a good one if you want as stand

I think it's really good, but my sister bought 2 cases, and I took one. It was a back case but now this won't connect.
