Sonos family at home keeps growing! A great sounding portable speaker. Whether you’re having a party indoors or on your patio, the Move is an amazing speaker to own. The Sonos app has great stations plus AirPlay and Bluetooth options make this even more versatile. The handle behind makes it easy to carry around and charging base has a minimalist design. Easy to setup and always on the go!

Great speaker. This speaker sounds very clear and is very good for songs that are singing. Rap is decent on it but I would lean towards some other speakers if you want to listen to rap. However, the smart features are good and the sound quality and convince of the charging dock that comes with it makes it a great speaker.

I must admit, when this was first announced, I was pretty meh. What do I need this for? It seemed really expensive for a wireless speaker and I already have a home full of Sonos speakers. Well, now, I think it might be my favorite speaker due to it's versatility. I own two 2nd gen play 5s, a first gen play 5, a play 3 and several play ones. The move is now my "floating" speaker to fill in the gaps. I have a single play 5 in the basement for example, so I can just bring this down and it really compliments the play 5. I can take it out to the back yard or front yard or to the garage. I was going to buy a few more Play Ones, but now that I have the move, I don't need to add any more speakers to my system. The Move sounds great. I would put it below the Play 5, but you really can't beat this speaker for a stand alone wireless speaker and the fact that it's Sonos and is part of my Sonos ecosystem makes it worth the higher cost. The quality is very high. It feels solid and the handle on the back makes it super easy to carry around. The low profile charging stand fits it perfectly and both the stand and the speaker have a grippy bottom so they don't move around. This is yet another high quality, great sounding Sonos product.

My second Move set as a stereo pair.

This is the second Move that I have purchased. We are a Sonos family, so it was a great addition to our mix. We are using the Move as a stereo pair for when we sit outside by the firepit or are floating in the pool, and it is a lot better than taking our old speakers outside and lugging extension cords. Have had them playing for up to 6 hours without any battery issues. It will shut itself off if you are not playing it after a while to save battery and you have to physically hit the button to take it out of sleep mode. The charging "ring" that it sits on when being charged is convenient and lessens the possibility of cords wearing out from plugging and unplugging. The sound is great, and the device auto adjusts to its surroundings to give a great stereo sound. Even with one unit, the sound is really great. The voice control "hey Sonos" works well and seems to understand commands easily to skip songs or change the volume. At least, it worked when I didn't call it Alexa. My one complaint is that it does not pair to Spotify from within the Spotify app, like our other Sonos speakers. You can select Spotify from within the Sonos app, but the capabilities are missing that the Spotify app has. I hope they fix that. Also, it has a nice handle on the back which makes it easy to move around (no pun intended) since it is a bit heavy. But even as a single unit (not stereo paired) the sound is terrific. I have not tried the volume above 60% because I like my neighbors. It is quite loud and I didn't notice any distortion at the higher volumes. It also syncs perfectly with my other Sonos speakers when I want to have the whole house rockin and can play different music than the rest of the house if desired, like the other Sonos speakers can; basically works just like any other Sonos speaker when grouped or played stand alone.

I've had the Move for about a week now. None of the Best Buy stores in my area (I visited four) had functioning Sonos displays since the product launched. That's sad. Therefore, I never got a chance to audition the speaker before ordering for myself. I managed to grab an open box one from bestbuy.com that was too good of a deal to pass up, especially on a brand new Sonos device. I have several Sonos products (Connect, Amp, Beam, Play:3, some stereo paired Ones with a sub, and some single Ones in other rooms), so I was excited to check out the Move. The RANGE on the speaker is incredible. If you worry about bringing your speaker outdoors where your wifi connection isn’t very good, I would still give this speaker a try. I took the speaker for a walk on the first night I had it and ended up a city block away – well beyond the reach of my wifi. I’m not sure if it just has incredibly strong wifi reception or if it was connected to Sonosnet, but this speaker will work flawlessly anywhere in my house or in my yard. The device also has that signature sexy Sonos look. It is definitely not your run of the mill portable Bluetooth speaker. It has a heft to it and won’t be traveling in your carryon bag. But the handle works great and the bag Sonos provides with it is sufficient. I was a little disappointed with the sound (thus the 4 star rating). I think my expectations were high from reading all of the great reviews so I was mildly let down. It is slightly better than the One and I think does a better job at producing a full sound than the One. (I attached a photo of the Move next to a One for comparison.) It is, however, FAR superior than typical Bluetooth speakers on the market today, as it very well should be for the price tag. With that being said, I wouldn’t recommend the Move to be the primary Sonos speaker on which you will critically listen to music. The Move can be stereo paired with another Move, but I’d recommend stereo pairing a One and a One SL for less than the price of a second Move (and of course pairing with a sub for incredible sound) and keeping the Move somewhere to be able to easily grab to take to the back yard or patio and also enjoy some music inside the house. Somewhere like the kitchen (I have mine in the dining room). The speaker switches between wifi and Bluetooth flawlessly – just push the button on the back. The controls on the top are similar to other Sonos products, so there won’t be much of a learning curve, if any. I also like how Sonos will offer a DIY battery replacement, so you don’t need to worry about this expensive device becoming obsolete. The charging stand is nice and easy to dock the speaker, but there is also a USB-C charging port on the back so you can charge away from home without needing to pack the dock (which is fortunate because it has a giant brick charger. Is that necessary?) As with other Sonos devices, the best part is how the app unifies multiple streaming services into one easy to use app. My “My Sonos” home screen has my favorite SiriusXM, Tunein, Radio.com and podcasts all under one roof. You can also add multiple Spotify accounts (my partner sees his Spotify account on his phone and I see my Spotify account on my phone). All in all, the Move is exactly what I wanted it to be. I’m looking forward to seeing similar product launches now that Sonos has embraced Bluetooth.

I set out to look for a multi-use speaker that had decent sound, could get loud, be mobile/wireless and had Airplay 2. I needed it for a couple different usages, mainly for pairing with a projector that we use in our backyard. Up until now we were using a small Bluetooth speaker, with a RCA jack in, and used a 20ft cable to connect to it. I was never happy with the sound or the fact that I had to use a long cable for it. After a lot of research I decided to try out the Sonos Move, at first I couldn’t justify the hefty price but there was only a small group of speakers that had the features I needed. I decided on the Sonos Move. First of all the sound is great! It gets loud without compromise and connects to the projector via an Apple TV and Airplay. Bass is substantial and both music and movies sound amazing. I can place it anywhere without use of cables. I’ve taken it to the beach and park. The battery has never died on me, it lasts around 11 hours I have yet to drain it all the way. I have an Apple HomePod in the house but I find myself grabbing the Move instead. I have mostly Apple devices at home and the Move fits right in. With easy to use app and Alexa and google play integration. I use it with Alexa and Apple Music and it works like a charm. The only issue sometimes is remembering the right commands for Alexa to respond. Build quality is top notch. It feels and looks great. The charger is easy to use and it also has a usb-c for charging as well.

Bit pricey on the outside, but it delivers awesome sound! Is portable! Wi-Fi or Bluetooth (can't wait to use it at the beach). Part of the Sonos ecosystem and works flawlessly. Installation a breeze: turn on, select Sonos app on phone. It already detected the device, asked if I wanted to add it, and the rest is history. I like that it senses movement to different locations and revises its sound profile to accommodate the new environment. I've yet to add in the Alexa feature but likely will do so.

Bass: 8/10 Mids: 6/10 Treble: 7/10 Sound stage: 7.5/10 Portability: 6/10 Range: 9/10 Connectivity: 9/10 Build Quality: 10/10 Battery life: (too soon to make adequate rating) Overall Value: 9/10 Start with the obvious... the price is prohibitive especially for what is considered a portable speaker. Sonos is makes up for it with exceptional build quality, thoughtful software integration and sound quality. The bass is rich, warm and surprisingly robust. Highs are clear, crisp and distinct. Mids are little muddy and seem washed out on some recordings. Sound stage is remarkable for a stand-alone speaker and if the cash is there, buying a second for a stereo pair could be a legitimate replacement for many hi-fi implementations. It is a legitimate portable speaker... but it does have some heft. This is due to outstanding build quality and additional weight of a battery. Charging stand is elegant and understated. It also has a usb-c port. Listening at 60% volume, in large room, mids 90s hip hop mix: 90 minutes consumed about 8% - but this is right out of box so a couple of cycles will be needed to gauge battery life. Ultimately Sonos continues its run of quality hardware with excellent sound performance at premium pricing. If the cash is available - it is one of the best portables on the market AND makes a great addition to any home theatre setup.

This speaker sounds amazing, like you would expect from a Sonos speaker. We have a close internet access point so we have never lost connection while listening by the pool. Lost a little signal going into the front yard to play C*O*R*N*H*O*L*E on July 4th, but that isn't the fault of the speaker. Since the Sonos wall mount is sold out we found a great one on Amazon that works. The battery is exceptional. We played music from 11am-8pm. By that time the battery was at 10%

The ease with which Sonos speakers are detected in Sonos app and get connected over wifi is something really fascinating. Got this speaker up and running in 2min max, and that includes updating to latest firmware. Speaker sounds great, and has auto truetone feature which adjusts sound (not drastically but slightly) according to speaker placement in room. Noticed music breaking once over Sonos app, i.e. song suddenly stopped playing on the speaker even when I could see it moving forward in the app. Reducing one star for that and the average battery life it provides considering the size and weight. But still it is good to run for at least 8-9 hours depending on volume level.

Excellent sound across a wide range of music. I’m really impressed with the bass which is a huge improvement over the smaller Sonos One. Very portable, just remember to place it back on the recharge stand after each use. Super easy to setup. Clearly one of the best portable speakers out there.

My landscape lighting professional quoted me a price of nearly $8k to put a sound system in my yard. Well, times have changed, and now $800 will purchase two Sonos Move portable outdoor speakers that will give you nearly the same audio quality. But wait, there's more - after your guests leave, you can "move" these speakers inside your home where the party never ends. Yes, they are pricey, but these speakers have more bass than HomePods, they are portable, they connect via WiFi or bluetooth, and you can include them in your AirPlay 2 home network. The Sonos app works great, and you can access them just as well through Apple HomeKit.

We spent many days and hours trying to decide which wireless speaker would be the best choice for our home. The more obvious choice began to be the Sonos Roam (2 of them). So after deciding that this was the best choice, we began looking at where we could purchase our “big decision.” Best Buy kept coming up as the first and best option for purchasing. This was the best decision for us. It was the clear, easy, and most efficient decision we had made. Thank you Best Buy for your help and ease of transaction!.

The Sonos move is a must have if you are in the Sonos eco system. I am a newbie with Sonos and just purchased 2 subs,2play5,2play one, and playbar. I needed a portable speaker to take around when going out or in patio. This speaker was worth the 399. The sound quality is awesome and I like that it connects with the rest of house speaker. It’s nice to know we actually have another speaker that we can move around when having a party. Yes the price of the move is almost the cost of 2 play one but knowing that it’s wireless and Bluetooth and can move it around is a plus. The wireless charging is the best I seen. So easy to take off from charger and place it back. Good job Sonos on this feature.

First off, I am an absolute Sonos junkie. It took a lot to keep me from upgrading to the Move immediately when it came out. I had a feeling that something smaller was going to come from Sonos to replace my UE speaker so I figured I could let that run for a little while longer. I was a little worried the Move was too big to transport around to the pool, beach, etc but I was wrong! The size of the Move while larger than most bluetooth speakers is actually an advantage. I could not believe the sound that came out of this speaker! I am used to having to try and fight ambient noises with other speakers but this one has no issue in being louder. Sound quality is on par with other Sonos products too, AMAZING! There is no doubt the quality of the product as it is heavy, but compact and easy to move around. The had grip on the back makes it easy to grab and go off the provided charger. Setup was very easy especially if you have Sonos products already in the home. Just find a good spot to drop the charger and use it to fill your living room or enjoy a day on the beach! My wife made the mistake of getting this for me to add to my Sonos addiction but it is my favorite product of their's so far!

Currently the 4th piece of my Sonos collection. Its the most powerful and clear of all my speakers and the best part... i can take it with me! I brought this to my company bbq and we jammed out for hours to crystal clear tunes. Ppl were literally asking me if all the sound for the bbq was all coming out of that little speaker. It was a hit and a talking piece. Ill be adding another piece soon.

I love how it will auto calibrate to whatever environment you move it into for the best possible sound. It's so nice for outdoor use! I can have the home system going and the music continues outside! The charge lasts forever too! I was working in the garage the other day for 4 hours and it just kept going! It's worth every dollar whether you own a Sonos home system or not! Love love love! At initial setup, the Sonos Move is just like any other Sonos speaker that you add to your WiFi network using the Sonos app. Only at that point, do you get the new option to switch the Move to being a standalone Bluetooth speaker. A bit disappointing is the fact you have to press a physical button on the back of the speaker to toggle between WiFi and Bluetooth; one would hope the app could do that as well. Moving the compact 6.5lb Move is easy with a grooved handle at the top. The Move does not have AC and so it must be charged on a regular basis but advertised to last 10 hours. The sound quality (Bluetooth or WiFi) seems as good as the other Sonos speakers. Overall, recommended but it would nice if there was an integrated Bluetooth/WiFi option to allow group connectivity with the other Sonos speakers when using a Bluetooth connection.
