These headphone are very comfortable, but more importantly they certainly block out the noise,. They are easy to use, easy to connect, and it really is amazing how they filter out noise. The feature where you can hear someone speaking to you momentarily (by placing hand over right side of headphone) is very handy. I also love how they fold up into a nice travel case. I wish there was a volume control button without having to swipe up/down on the headphones. Other than that, and their price, these are very nice headphones and I am enjoying them very much.

    Beats Bose QC35 hands down

I've had these headphones for over a month now and I find these best among qc35 and Beats Studio Wireless. The following are the metrics that I rate these Build/ Comfort/ Connection ( 5/5) : I wear glasses and these are just great to put on when you have your glasses on. Comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I have these on from morning to evening working at my desk. The ear cups are soft and don't make my ears uncomfortable like the beats studio do. The power noise cancelling and ambient noise buttons are easy to use and connecting a device is breeze. Connecting a NFC enabled device is super easy and a nice feature to have. I would rate 5 star for the build/comfort. Features 5/5 : Noise cancelling is as good as you find in Bose qc 35 and even a little better than the Bose's. Isolates noises around you and in noisy work-spaces this is a must have headset. Noise cancelling 5/5 . Other features like touch to play/pause and hold to hear someone talking to you without having to take out the headset sounded gimmicky when I first tried these at a store but after daily use, you appreciate these features and get used to them. Sound Quality 4/5 : This is where this headset outperforms bose's, the sound from bose's sounded flat and not worth a 300$ headset but the sound from these is just perfect. It has the right amount of base and has a rich warm sound. Wouldn't rate any headphone 5 in sound department, these get a 4 in my book. (4/5) Should you buy these ? Go ahead!! If noise cancelling and wireless headphones are what you are looking for, you can't go wrong with these.

These headphones are some of the best you can get in the market. They feel comfortable, flexible and you feel like your in your own world with the noise cancelling feature! Not to mention the Battery life can last a couple days running for NC! Being a producer, ive used them for listening to my final products of work and for my personal choice of music and movies. The trebels could get drowned out a little bit. Other than that sonicly, one of the best for quality and all around comfortable experience no matter where you go! Highly recommended!!

Even after being put on sale, these headphones were pretty expensive. But they were so worth it! The sound quality is great, but -- even better -- the noise canceling is amazing! Seriously, you can barely here anything other than what is playing through the 1000s. Even if you don't want to listen to music, these bad boys are perfect for getting come quiet time. One caveat: the charging cable is a joke; literally 1' long. If you buy these, spend a few extra dollars to get a decent cable.

The sound of the headphones is really good. Very good noise canceling effects. I really like the touch controls on the outside of the right earpiece. A VERY good purchase. In my opinion as good as the Bose QC35 with some extra features.

This is the best ever noise cancellation technology from Sony: just about every ambient sound disappears (e.g., fans, conversations in the next room, even doorbells). The sound quality from the intended signal is great and comes through clearly. However, I still need to remove the headphones to hear someone who is speaking to me (the headset touch control is not effective), and I would not use these headphones outdoors walking or driving in traffic because of the danger of being deaf to hazards. Nevertheless, fans of previous Sony Bluetooth headphones will be delighted by the improvements.

I've got a larger than average noggin, and I'm very pleased with how comfortable these cans are. Sound quality is excellent. Bluetooth is easy to set up, and the noise canceling is exceptional. Recommend for everyday use, especially good for traveling. Would not recommend for outdoor activity (exercise, yard work, etc..) as they make a good seal and can get sweaty pretty quickly.

I had the Klipsch Headphones, Beats and Bose Headphones and these Sony Headphones are the best and most complete!! The sound quality is definitely there along with the comfortability for an over-the-head design. It's super comfortable compared to the Bose QuietComfort, which I also really loved the comfortability of those headphones. Now the major feature of the headphones and what put this on the top of the list of headphones for me was the control and the noise-canceling/ambient modes!!! The technology of the control of the side, which requires sliding and pushing on the outside of the right ear-pad is super efficient and effective in certain occasions (working on projects/working out in gym). Another huge advantage is the noise-canceling and ambient modes. Noise-Canceling is very effective, but the big difference is that there are buttons on the side that, when pressed, allows you to either have an ambient mode of Voice or Normal (Traffic) or turn off Noise-Canceling all together! You can also have the Noise-Canceling on completely then just put your hand over the right ear-pad to hear a temporary announcement or quick discussion!!! Very unique and useful gesture!!! I am super happy with this product and wanted to definitely recommend this to anyone who is considering some very good higher-end headphones!

We read many reviews on headphones and were ready to purchase a different brand when we went into Best Buy. However, after seeing and trying the Sony 1000X Wireless Noise Cancelling headphones, we were sold! If someone needs to talk with you while you are listening to music or a movie, you just touch the right ear to silence the sound without removal of your headset---this is fantastic----think of being in a plane and the steward wishes to know what kind of drink you would like! My partner and I both have used the headset and believe it is very comfortable and is wonderful eliminating the noise on an airplane so you can really hear a movie! Using the headset at the athletic club eliminates all the talking and noise of machines so you can enjoy music or listen to the TV! We will definitely have two sets before our next flight! BTW, buying them at Best Buy is a real plus as they guarantee prices and if you have any problems, the Geek Squad is superb to answer any of your questions!

These headphones are top of the line and the touch response is awesome and super useful. The only reason for 4 not 5 is that they don’t go to the ear damaging levels I like, but that’s good for you.

Yes these headphones are a bit pricey, however, they sound better than the BOSE QC 35's and are cheaper now due to the new model coming out, however, I still recommend these. They are very solid build quality, fold up nicely, and will likely last a very long time, making the investment a solid one. I'm a student and use them to drown out noise when I'm studying. If you're new to noise-canceling headphones, they may give you headaches at first, however, it will pass within a using them for a few times.

Hi Danny, Thank you for sharing this feedback. We are glad that this headphone meets your expectation. Good to know that you use this headphone while you are studying. Once you need to use the noise canceling feature, you can refer to page 90/137 and check the noise cancellation function from this link.

Bose used to have the upper hand in noise cancelling headphones. Especially their QuietComfort series headphones. This new Sony MDR-1000X trumps Bose in noise cancelling. And it does it with better audio quality vs the QC35. I own the QC35s, they are lighter and more comfortable, but the noise cancelling ability doesn't change much from the QC25 (which my wife now use). These Sony noise cancelling headphones have several noise cancelling modes and it have a built-in function to run optimization to your head/ear shape in receiving sound. It plays some test sounds and optimize the noise cancelling/ audio according to your head shape, which is pretty nice. And when you cover the right ear cup, it reduces the audio playing and turns on ambiance sound mode, which allows you to hear outside noise or people talking, take your hand away from the ear cup, it turn on noise cancelling mode again. That feature is really really nice to have. The down side is that it's a bit heavier vs QC35 and can only pair with 1 device at once. But those downsides are minimal for me considering the better noise cancelling and convenience you get from the different modes.

I have been contemplating to either get the Bose 35 or this Sony 1000X. After many trips to Best Buys and Headphone shops in the airports, I finally decided to get this headphone. I am sure now that it was a great choice. First, the Bose does have an impressive noise cancelling unit, however, this Sony will give Bose a run for their money. I have tried this Sony in many environment, and the outcome is very little to no noise passing through their noise cancellation. In regards to its performance, this headphone does give an edge in sound reproduction. It does not have much discoloration and sound stage is excellent. The bass response is very good. As you listen to music, you do not feel fatigue from the sound. The headphone is quite comfortable, however, I am not able to wear it around my neck. I really have to take it off if I am not listening to it. One thing that I wish Sony did is to provide a 6.3 mm adapter to their standard wired connection cable. In the wired mode, the sound quality is better, however, would recommend to have a DAC. Overall, an excellent bluetooth headphone, worth bring on trips.

My buddy picked up the Bose version and I fell in love with them, so when my trip to Europe came up, I decided to do my research. I looked at a ton of reviews on YouTube and saw that Sony and bose are neck in neck. Only difference is that Bose has the reputation and star quality. The guy at best buy even encouraged me to go with bose with some false claim. With all this in mind, I could not overlook these amazing headphones with all the features they have to offer, so I got these instead. I have to tell you, if you are on the fence, choose Sony, I swear you will not regret it. I ended up taking these back after I got home because the 2nd generation is coming out September 18th for 50 bucks more and with a gold version and 30 hours of battery life. They are pre-ordered and I just can't wait. Once you try these you just can't go back. Last thing, I live in NYC and this blocks out the craziness. You can even adjust them to only hear train announcements if you are worried about blocking too much out. If you are on the fence about these and bose, trust me! Go with these.

Not a true audiophile but have gotten into video editing. I needed to block out my room noise just so I could concentrate and still hear decent quality sound. Got that and more. Long battery life, cool features like touch pad controls on the right ear so I can hear the room when I want to. Highly recommend.
