You would expect Sony to put our a great product. I bought two of these TVs the same day. I especially like the stand and the way it blends into the whole package. The picture is terrific, of course...and rather easy to set up. I did have to contact Sony once...couldn't find one of the settings. No manual is included, which is a negative for me. Everybody is doing that now, but I still don't like it. Every electronic device should have a printed manual.

When looking for our next family TV, I wanted to get 2 birds with one stone: Android TV and 4K (UHD). These were my goals in order to future-proof. After comparing the quality next to a Samsung and LG TVs, the choice was clear, as was the image. The sound is great no blurring upon fast-moving images. With Android at the core, the user experience is more than satisfying. There's an incredible amount of content across the Play Store for the TV. I would not be surprised if it has the most compared to other Smart TVs. 100% satisfied with my purchase.

The Sony XBR43X830C 43-Inch 4K Ultra HD 120Hz Smart LED TV provides a vivid picture with great features at an excellent price. I was considering buying a regular Smart TV, but could not pass up how great the picture looked in the Demo at Best Buy. Another plus is the ability to download the "SideView" app on your SmartPhone to control your TV easily.

Overall, the Sony is a nice TV. The stand, as others have mentioned, is a bit clumsy to deal with during set-up. Also there's no way to adjust it like the older versions that twist sideways, if need be. Picture is good quality, but had to tone down the settings. Infinite number of possible picture adjustments. Seems like the bright colors and the whites are a bit too bright for some eyes. Sound is OK, but can also be adjusted somewhat. Agree with others that the remote is a little hard to navigate. Center circle controls are too close together and it's easy to touch the wrong button. You'll know what this means when you see it or use it. Also has a Football button to display vivid colors during sports events. Still learning the ropes of the smart TV features. Must have an awful lot of time on your hands to use all that stuff. Most of it goes unused anyway in our house. Does 4K make much of a difference now? Not a whole lot, but you never know what the future has in store.

Great Average 4K TV but an Excellent Monitor

I bought this TV as a monitor for my MacBook Pro. I was not intending to use this as a TV. The monitoring is great and the audio quality is fairly good. I have it attached by HDMI through a Thunderbolt interface. I love the "pic off", which turns the screen off without actually turning the TV off. The "Pic off" features allows me to not worry about the screen getting "painted" by the no signal screen. As I was messing around with it, I decided to search for over the air TV channels. It picked up all of the channels with out a problem. However, I have a straight shot from the TV towers. I also have a Apple TV hooked up to it and it display great picture quality. The apps that I use is Netflix and Hulu mostly and the speed and picture quality is great. The initial set up of the TV could be improved. The directions are not very clear and look me a while to look/read the manual and look at the TV to finally figure it out. I mounted the TV on the stand that it came with. You actually slide the stand connectors off the TV under the TV. Not line it up behind the TV. Overall, I am very happy with the TV.

As soon as found out the pricing below $800 for a 43 inch 4K TV and from Sony, I went for it, and I wasn't disappointed with the picture quality and features it offered. I wasn't able to get Netflix at first, but Netflix became available later that week, and to take advantage of the 4K content, I had to upgrade my Netflix subscription, and it was worth the upgrade. The only app that I would like to have available on this TV is Crunchyroll (my anime subscription). I'm also hoping that the future updates will fix the annoying issue where this TV displays the last input like HDMI 2 which is blank if my PS4 is turned off when I try launching any app like Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Video, etc. The only way to get around this is turning off the TV and turning it back on again.

I use this mainly as an overpriced monitor for day trading. Secondly as a smart TV.
As a monitor it works quite well, but since my video card on my Alienware laptop can only push out 1080p, I do not really get the 4k I was hoping. (Maybe this will be a good excuse to buy a new PC...)
As a TV streaming content, the picture quality is phenominal. I looked at the equivalent Samsung and Sharp in the Best Buy store before purchasing this. Samsungs are the popular ones, but I have had poor luck with the quality of their webapps. They are also very Samsung-centric, where they want to use their protocols instead of the standards. Sony picture quality might be a wee bit better, but I doubt you could tell the difference.
The Sharp turned on instantly in the store. The Samsung takes what it seems a full minute. The Sony is somewhere inbetween like 15 seconds to 30 seconds. The instant on time is nice for me since I do use this as a monitor. For folks just using this in a living room or bedroom, I doubt you really care that some TVs take a minute to display a picture. Since the Sony was a bit slow, this was the one star I removed from the rating.
The Sony web apps work really well and are quick. I was not expecting that since I was used to the Samsung webapps. The Sony apps work so well, I ended up subscribing to Netflix since it is so easy to use and browse. The Netflix webapp on the Sony is quicker and better laid out than the current one (as of 8/8/2015) that is in a normal web browser on a computer.
Overall excellent picture, works well with my Sonos Playbar, excellent webapps, but a wee bit too slow to initially start (which most people won't care about).

My first personal tv, I use it mostly for gaming with a Xbox one, pic quality is great, clear, no blur and good blacks. Sound is ok, better than. My brothers hd 60' Vizio. The apps and function are it's biggest short commings. The tv runs slow in the menu and apps can be hit and miss in functionality. Over all things will work with an ocasional restart, like a computer needs. Overall great tv and I'd say best bang for the buck 4k tv.

Our old TV broke down after 4 years, and we decided to buy a new one that could last a little longer (average TV life is about 6 years). After shopping around, we decided to go with Sony. It is definitely not a cheap TV - as a matter of fact, it is about $150-$200 more expensive than another brand of the same type (4k HDTV). We still went with it because Sony has better quality control. Moreover, the color of this TV is comparatively better than others in the store.
The TV itself is great! It comes with many programs - you can order Neflex on it directly.
Highly recommended!

I bought this tv as a second Sony 4K purchase.
It's a great tv for the bedroom or living room if you don't need a monster.
Super clear. Great color. To be expected from a Sony. I'm using it as a Netflix tv.
Love it.

Great picture and set up was simple. Tweaking the picture was easy and done very quickly. Does a decent job upscaling. More noticeable on bluray than DirecTv. Sound quality was better than expected. I would not hesitate to purchase this television again.
