I personally have been a Sony customer for over 40 years and Sony has never let me down. This tv is no exception. This tv is quite affordable and still has the Sony quality we expect. For a young person on a budget this tv is recommended. This Sony TV has the classic Sony-UI the same as my much more expensive Sony, Google TV, and the image looks great. My daughter is very happy with the new Sony TV. Coming off of the super-cheap TCL, she had a bit of sticker shock, but she trusted my advice and is glad she did. This new Sony is a great purchase that is expected to last for many years.

Except for the TV looking so elegant - visual is crisp clear!! My previous TV couldn’t even display darker scenes.. was pixelated all over… On this Sony it is clean, smooth and visible! Good audio. Quick response, Smart TV display for apps is user friendly, and even the remote is slick and comfortable. Easy initial install, and even the volume bar is properly located in a way it doesn’t disturb with subtitles. Only regret is not buying it bigger (;

Not sure why the “knits” or what ever they call it is so low . I can’t imagine the contrast if they actually bumped it in this department . I almost didn’t buy it due to this … but it’s ok , screen gets super bright on things designed or recorded for brightness. Also took line 30 min for ps5 to recognize 120 hertz . They advertised the tv would sync flawlessly with ps5. That’s not true at all. But it worked after serveral restarts , disconnects and changing the settings . ( when I say changing settings ,,, I mean changing them to the wrong settings and them back to the right ones . Tv though is A+

Very pleased with the picture quality and other features of this TV. The price point is not bad either for a Sony. I bought it at an even better price used in excellent condition. I would bet that it was brand new and never used because the packaging was undisturbed and all the stickers were still in place. I just dislike that best buy jacks up the extended warranty prices on there open box items. If they are confident in Best Buys Geek Squad inspection there should be no need for the hike in price.

A good TV, but required significant adjustment

There was nothing wrong with the 32" but I wanted a larger TV so my guests and I could see the TV from all parts of the kitchen. Normally, Sony TV picture quality is very good right out of the box, but I needed to make significant adjustments to this one. The "standard" picture quality setting seemed "washed out" to me. Here is what I changed from the default "Standard" picture settings: Auto Picture - Off Light Sensor - Off Brightness - 25 (actually turning down is better than upper - at least to me) Contrast - 90 Color - 65 Gamma - 0 Color Temp. - Neutral Motion Flow - Custom Smoothness - Minimum Clearness - Minimum So, I had to deduct a star since the TV required adjustment. But otherwise, this TV is fine for most applications. Sound quality is adequate - I tried it just for this review but this TV is part of my whole house audio visual system, so I use custom installed speakers which are, of course, better than any TV speaker. Overall build quality of the TV is good. As for the remote, it is bare bones and barely adequate. But I don't use it since I control all of the main house audio visuals with a URC total control system.

What an upgrade!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having had the Xbox series X for almost 2 years, and using a 1080p 60Hz monitor for the entire time, I haven’t really been “stretching the consoles legs”. That being said, this tv is awesome. Walked in going to buy a Hisense (not a great idea) and left with this. Games, Tv, movies, they all look amazing. There is a strange setting with the 4K @ 120Hz you have to change through the HDMI to actually get the 4K 120Hz out of it (with Xbox at least), it can easily be found on the internet if you do a search for it not working. I’m hoping it lasts a while, I don’t want to give it up!

What sold me was the unique characteristic of 120 Hz screen rate that will increase enjoyment for my daughter's gaming experience. Although, she says she doesn't really see a better screen rate...also, I wish it would have the nicer remote control shown to me at the store. I got a much cheaper version of it and miss the LED button feature.

For the X85K, 120 Hz is supported by HDMI IN 3 and IN 4.

Fortunately Sony’s customer service was spectacular in sending a new TV after verifying that the old one was not working. The TV is great. I mainly use it with my PS5 and I have really enjoyed it. The picture is great. The sound is fine got the space that the TV is in. I would 100% make this purchase again.

We originally had it mounted in our bedroom but hardly ever used it. So I took it and mounted it on the wall in my wife’s office for her to use as her monitor. That’s another reason why I like Sony products they are so versatile that you can use them for almost anything. Sony is awesome. 43in. Monitor is amazing and my wife loves it. She doesn’t want to ever have to use a laptop screen again, and I can’t blame her it’s FREAKING AMAZING!!!

But it has the following annoyances: wifi signal drops about twice a month and is difficult to reconnect (only one of 16 devices registered on router to exhibit this behavior), up-scaled video exhibits soft fuzziness, screen reflection of lights behind viewers is significant (only one of three TVs in this location to be a problem), and OTA tuner randomly stalls when switching between channels, returning a no-signal error. Firmware is up-to-date and resetting TV has no effect on dropped wifi or tuner stalling. I wonder if it's worth the price premium, and have contemplated returning it.

With the 120Hz mode there is a dip in sharpness that is noticeable, but running at 60Hz most of the time everything is sharp and each pixel is defined. The angle of viewing in my use case is amazing vs my previous 2017 LG model of the same size. Brightness was improved in my case as well and the colors are more accurate in my opinion. I'm not a huge fan of Sony's TV OS but having a programmable button on the remote to launch directly into my selected input was a nice-to-have.

It was easy except the legs. Beware of putting the legs on wrong. I bought this tv due to the spacing of the legs and the width of my bookcase but I couldn’t understand why they where further apart then what comments claim. Anyway, I took a chance and switched the legs around and sure enough they were on wrong and my anxiety about the tv falling is gone.

Two years later, it’s as good as it was the day I opened the box and set it up. I would not have a problem buying this TV at whatever retail price is today. Sony makes only a few select models which allows the quality of the TVs to be top-notch unlike the other brand names.

Replaced my old Sony 40 inch that I had since 2008. Worked great for 15years. Had my eye on the A90K OLED but decided for the price this would work. And yes it does. Great PQ also Audio is good. With Legs TV sits high enough up for a soundbar. Also looked at the new Bravia 3 but the older 2022 year Sony has more features. Happy with purchase
