I have had the television for a little over 2 months. I have a pixle out. I am currently fighting with Sony warrenty to fix or replace the television. I have not heard back and it has been over a week. The representative told me they may not replace it... and it is common to have pixles go out.

Couldn’t be happier with this television after reviewing so many TVs this is the one to go with also for th me price amazing hdr picture and the smart apps work perfect haven’t had no crashing problems or anything. Can definitely tell a huge difference between a 1080p tv and and hdr 4K on this it’s like night and day no lagging in it as well the blacks are amazing and the definition on this tv is crazy especially when watching on a 4K Blu-ray

This is an excellent 4k 65" television for the price, if you are lucky enough to get a good panel.
POSITIVES are: The picture is very clear and the colors are excellent. The black levels are solid, although you can definitely buy better in that department if you are willing to spend a lot more money. The best thing about this TV for me is the motion. Sony really is at the cutting edge of motion processing technology in their televisions. I put the TV on the "True Cinema" setting for motion, and it is almost as good as my old DLP. Finally, the upscaling is excellent as well. I watch many old DVDs that I burned years before this TV was made, and they all look very watchable.
NEGATIVES are: The android system is terrible, and the TV's "SMART" system is clearly under powered. I only use the TV as a home theater set, and I don't do any streaming, but there is lag even when adjusting the volume or going through the picture settings menus. It's not an issue for me, but if you are going to use the TV for streaming or something else where you will frequently interact with the Android interface, it can be really bad, with crashes, resets, etc. Second, the speakers are not that great. They are fine with regular TV, but not for movies or anything else. Next, the viewing angle is pretty poor. With my room, I'm always right in front tof the screen, but this would be a terrible TV for a large room with seats all around, and it is also important to get the TV at the correct height, because the image and black levels degrade badly if you are even a little too high or too low.
Finally, to the big issue with this set, and of pretty much every 4k panel made today: the quality control is TERRIBLE. I first got a Sony 850e that had horrible flashlighting on both sides that made watching 4:3 content impossible, and the entire bottom half of the screen was visibly brighter and washed out then the top. I returned it and ended up with a more expensive Sony 900e, and while the picture was better, and the local dimming feature was nice for the black levels, the entire screen had about two inches of light leakage around the entire perimeter. At that point I was ready to give up on TVs for a while, but thanks to Best Buy's excellent return policy, I decided to give the 850e another shot after it went on sale, and the one I have is excellent. There are edge-lit sets from the bottom, and there is a tiny bit of uneven brightness down there, but it is not visible in the content and you probably wouldn't even notice it unless you were looking for it. The two 850e tvs I had were so different in quality, it is ridiculous. This is not just an issue with Sony, it is industry wide, but it is infuriating that companies have decided it is acceptable to send defective products to market. My advice is keep pushing until you get a panel you want, and DON'T feel pressured to spend more than you want to try to buy your way out of the problem. There are even huge problems with OLEDs and all other TVs as well.
Anyways, sorry for the long review. My finally conclusion that there are definitely more high-end sets out there, and the 900e I returned was better than my current 850e besides the light leakage, but you have to decide what you want in a television, and what you want to spend, and be willing to fight until you get a quality 4k panel. If you want the absolute best 4k/HDR picture and you need all the bells and whistles, this TV might not be the best for you, but if you want something that gives you a solid array of features, including the much needed native 120hz motion, and a good size at a reasonable price, this is a good choice. Thanks for reading. :)

The picture quality on this set is awesome. 4 months prior to buying this I bought a Samsung and I thought I loved that until I bought this. To be fair though they are not the same class t.v.. the Samsung is a 58" 6 series this is a 65" hdr Bravia. Both are 4k but the picture is much better on the Sony but the ease of setup was so much easier on the Sony. If you have an android phone you do nothing. It asks permission to import your settings from your mobile device and away you go. I didn't have to login into Amazon Netflix or Google it was ready to go all of those apps at the push of a button.

Why Buy Anything But Sony? You Get What You Pay For

Here's the deal. TVs have come down so much in price they are basically throwaways. The technology changes almost days after you make your purchase and your tv is instantly obsolete. At least that is the route people are taking when they purchase something at a "Black Friday Doorbuster" or pick up some knock-off brand. Your are buying these TVs so that you can wait in line again 2 years down the road because your TV is now outdated.
You hear it all the time, you get what you pay for, and that is 100% the case with a Sony TV. Before purchasing this TV the last TV I had purchased was in 2009, a 46 inch Sony Bravia (720p). At the time I paid more money than I did for this 65 inch. However, just recently I had a friend go out and pick up a "Doorbuster" 4K 55 inch Samsung and I'd argue that my 2009 Sony has pretty close to same picture quality. At least to the point where it's not worth me upgrading.
So specifically to talk about this TV.
This TV isn't an upgrade. I'm still using my 2009 in the family room. This jewel is a new addition to my basement and it's awesome!!!! Again, using this brand new Samsung my friend purchased as a comparison. Sure his tv was half the price (the 65inch model would have been), but you easily get half the quality. The biggest difference I noticed was with sports. There was so much "shadowing" behind the players moving on his Samsung, but with this Sony the refresh rate is incredible and the players, actors, cars, whatever it might be that is moving across the screen is crystal clear no matter what speed they are traveling at. Another big difference is the color contrast and the blacks it displays.
I'll be honest when I walked into Bestbuy I was set on purchasing a 70inch Sony, but it was their lowest model class. I still think that would have been a solid tv, but what sold me on this one was all of the smart tv features. It is 100% Alexa (Amazon Echo) compatible, and I'd assume Google Home would work just as well. It has Chromecast built in. That right there saves me $40 on a Chromecast and $60 on Amazon Fire.
It has Sony's most updated Android TV operating system and the ability to constantly update this software. This is something that I wouldn't have gotten with the lower model. To me this was worth sacrificing a few inches, for better SmartTV features and way way way better picture quality.
Bottom line. I've got an almost 9-year-old Sony in my living room that is still outperforming many brand new 4k TVs of today. I can't imagine how this TV won't hold up to the same standard. Spend the extra $$$$ today to have a top of the line TV that won't need to be replaced 2 years down the road.

Who needs a movie theater with this thing? Add a Sony 4K-Blu-Ray player and you are in entertainment paradise!
This is the second 4K TV I have purchased. The first was a 46inch LG with NO-HDR. So every time I booted up my 4K-Blu-Ray player while it was connected to the 4K-LG it would complain "Your TV does not support HDR and quality may be reduced"
I love Sony over all others brands. But Sony's prices are usually insanely higher than all other manufacturers. The old adage is very accurate in this case, you get what you pay for.
This time I wanted top quality, so I sold some stock and took the plunge into a High-End Sony TV. Never looking back!
This is the largest, thinnest, lightest, TV with the most vibrant picture I have ever seen!. I have this wall mounted and it's so thin it flexed to a startling degree when I pulled it away from the wall, had to loosen the mount arms to make less resistance. Man that's thin!
Another really cool thing about this TV is it's integration with other Sony devices. It Knows my PS4 Pro and my Sony 4K Blu-Ray player and lists them by name in the inputs menu.
The included Sony TV remote also controls my Sony 4K Player as well. I use a Harmony Elite remote myself, but nonetheless, making the Sony TV/4K Blu-Ray remotes universal is a nice touch, and very useful for other people without a Harmony or other universal remote.
It's integration with Amazon Echo (Alexa) is useful, I can turn it off on, change channels, inputs etc all with Alexa phrases.
PS4 Pro games with HDR are phenomenal! Final Fantasy XIII never looked so beautiful! Likewise with 4K-Blu-Rays with HDR, the colors are so vibrant and smooth it's surreal.
Watch Wonder Woman on 4K with this TV... you can thank me later, unless your wife/girlfriend is around in which case ABORT! :-P
The price is high, but the quality justifies the expenditure entirely. Never cheating on Sony with cheaper devices ever again! Sony, can you forgive me?

We already had a great 55” Samsung 4K tv but when we moved we wanted to treat ourselves to a little bigger tv with hdr. Took some getting used to because the colors are so true. Blacks and actually black and the colors are sharp and vivid. Extreme side viewing is little distorted but only from strong angles. Sound is pretty good too for the internal speakers but a sound bar or surround sound system def adds to the cinematic experience of the larger tv.

Purchased the TV black Friday when it was marked down $300. We installed the TV in our living room, which has plenty of light from windows and really like the picture quality day or night. selected the feature to auto adjust based on ambient light. Sports - NFL and college football games in particular, look great with the ''Live Football' option. Netflix HDR and 4K content looks spectacular.
Still playing around with the different picture modes. Geek squad offered to calibrate the TV after a month's usage, which i'll likely take them up on.
Smart apps are fairly easy to use with Android TV - Netflix, YouTube and Google assistant are getting a workout in our household. Do recommend setting up with any google account as it will help keep up with App updates. We have the TV connected to a wired Ethernet connection.
Remote is also fairly intuitive. We use a Uverse remote most of the time, but when we do need to use smart app features or adjust picture settings, the Sony remote works well.

Let me begin by saying This was the first major TV purchase in many years for me. My last was a DLP Samsung 42”. I research all thr latest and greatest out there from the Qleds down. At the end of the day every decision point kept leading me to the Sony 850 or 900, LG, Vezio and Samsung all were knocked out by various issues in my criteria. Sony is Sony, a bit more bucks upfront but exceptional value for features and technology. The 4k is sick, the colors and dynamics of resolution are superior and the 65” is perfect for our viewing space.

You can see details that you could not see on the old TV like blades of grass on the football field, and details such as eyelashes and wardrobe.
The Smart TV feature is easy to use and allows you to watch lots of movies and sports venues that were not available on the old TV. When the camera moves quickly there are no "blurring" problems.
The light weigh and ultra thin thickness was another feature that made us pick this TV. The setup and installation was easy.
We had shopped online and at Walmart and at Sams and the Best Buy "in store" experience (sales support) was the final factor that helped us decide on this Brand and model and size.

I'm a longtime Best Buy customer and have been in the technical field for many years as well as a previous satisfied Sony television and Sony product customer over the years. Some of the highlights and minor issues I found with the product are as follows: It has a good visual presentation when mounted on the wall (my configuration) with the thin border width. The stand is large and looks sturdy, but I didn't use it and cannot comment either way. The remote and terminology used on the remote is not what I've been used to and is just an average remote. The menu structure and setup menus for the TV are cumbersome and lack clarity on functional usage for a novice or intermediate user. The number of cable configurations is good with all the basic ones like multiple HDMI (4), optical sound out, composite and component, RF, and also has an internal antenna tuner for air wave channel receiving capability. The LED back light and pixel density provides for a high quality picture at close viewing distances to the TV if the receiving input is 1080i, 1080p or 4K, but with lower resolution inputs the viewing is best further back and in the center of the television. Another issue is the TV glare from lamps and sunlight is not acceptable and requires low light conditions or proper lamp and light placements to improve the viewing enjoyment. The initial setup was pretty easy with step by step setup of your TV remote and connecting device remote controls. Yet, with my older Panasonic receiver and blue-ray combination device, it was easier to control with the original Panasonic remote and not with the TV remote...other newer devices may fair better. Overall, with lower room lighting conditions, I am very happy with the picture quality and deep tones usually only provided with plasma sets. The weight seems heavy for an LED set as well. Despite the glare issue, remote improvements needed, a little heavy, and poor instruction and user friendliness of the menus, I would still recommend this set for the size, motion rate, connectivity, separate tuner, and excellent picture quality at higher resolutions. I would also recommend wall mounting for child safety, TV damage prevention, and space savings on this larger screen size.

My last TV was a 52" 1080P and was doing the job but using the PS4 for Netflix and DVD player for attaching an external HDD was getting annoying. Plus we have a chrome cast. This tv has all of that built in so there was no need to waste HDMI connections nor use another remote.
Also, it works with our Echo with limited functionality but still great. You can turn it on/off, vol up/down and change input. If it could start Netflix and choose movies, that would be awesome.
Video quality is really good and you have to upgrade Netflix to HDR 4K for higher quality streams. Only issue is not a lot of shows are HDR or 4K, so you are stuck watching the majority of movies only in HD. Most of the 4K shows are Netflix originals and a lot are comedy specials, which is not what I care to watch in HDR anyway!
Attaching a HDD works but it only supports MP4, booooo! Why not avi as well?
Sound is decent but I prefer to use my home theater system. It's still 5.1 but works great still, especially when the kids play video games or we watch movies.
Apart from these small gripes, I do love this tv and the price for all the features and picture quality is definitely worth it.

Pros: Excellent picture. This is our first 4K TV, and we did a few years of research before picking one out. The picture is significantly better than the Vizio that hit a similar price point, and the "smart' capabilities are very handy. It also is an excellent TV for gaming -- we have a PC connected to it, and there's nothing better than playing nerdy PC games on a 65 inch 4K screen. Heaven.
Cons: I wish there were more apps to connect to via the Google Play store. We had to keep our Apple TV because some of the apps we use (for exercise etc.) aren't available via the Play Store on the tv.

Replaced by 3.5 year old sony KDL65W850A with this model. The main board went out in the old TV, and no one would get the replacement main board....not even sony. Picked this TV up and with in 35 days i had green bars and static going across the TV. TV would not turn off or on from the remove to TV. Had to unplug...TV worked for a couple more days then it happened again. When the TV was working it had a great picture, and was very happy. Luckily the rewards program i am under extended my return period to 45 days. I returned the TV and went with the Sony XBR65X900E. Hopefully this one is more reliable!!! See attached picture. If the XBR65X900E goes out in 5 years it will be my last sony TV ever

I absolutely love this TV. Picture is great (sure it's not the 950 but still), the options are amazing. I love watching this TV, however, it is very frustrating that you need a piece of optional equipment to make it through your set up. I can't program my remote to the t.v. without it yet it doesn't come with it. Sony customer service was rude and not helpful when I called to report the "missing" item. If i didn't like the tv so much I would return it for another brand out of bitterness. Instead I will complain and simply shy away from them on future buys if there are other equal options.

Outstanding TV. Amazing image. Very good deal at that price. I chose Sony XBR65X850E over Vizio M series, and Samsung 7000 and 8000 series. According to what I’ve read, I did not want to skip HDR option for a 2-300$ saving.
When you check the list of features while shopping, you just don’t realize how wide-ranging these are once the smart TV is in your living-room and you have time to play with it … even if the BestBuy guy did a good job explaining at first… Since I upgraded to a 4K capable set top lately, almost all options are open (Chrome Cast, Android TV, cable provider’s programming, casting photos from my Windows PC,…)
Upscaling works very well: even the “HD only” signal is improved significantly compared to my Plasma Full HD set.
Set-up is very easy, straight forward: WiFi link and settings, system online update, remote, etc., all guided on the screen. You can also get guides online on your phone or PC.
I chose Best Buy over online retailers to have a brick and mortar place to go, in case of problem…Finally, I closed my deal through Best Buy website. Easy transaction, trouble-free delivery, even with our Building HOA tight rules.

What a great tv! The picture was pretty much perfect out of the box with very little calibration needed. Love that fact that HDR is included and got a great deal during the Black Friday sale. I was debating between the 850E and 900E but the difference in picture was not worth paying the extra $300 for the 900E.I would highly recommend this television to anyone looking for a 65 inch HDR 4K tv.
