If you’re looking to get into cinema cameras, the FX30 is such a great option. Literally everything you need for cinema set up in this compact style body like Dual Base ISO, Timecode, loadable LUTs, and the XLR top handle. For a cinema camera I’d say the learning curve isn’t too steep either. You can pick up and shoot with this camera and achieve some pretty stellar results. For the value, the FX30 is hard to beat.

[DISCLAIMER: I have no other frame of reference since this is my first camera] I mainly bought this camera because I had an upcoming project for university centered around making a short film. Although an expensive first camera for a pure beginner, I wanted to look for something I could grow into. I had a lot saved up from freelance 3D work and decided to bite the bullet after doing a ton of research. As someone who's never handled a real camera before, I found the FX30 to be easy to learn and shoot with even while using it manually (I'm sure using it in auto would be even easier). I paired it with a tamron 17-70 f2.8, and the picture quality turned out fantastic. The short film was received greatly, and I can't help but thank this camera for being my main workhorse. There's a lot more to learn, but I am excited to continue using the FX30 for the foreseeable future

So happy with this camera. Footage is so unbelievably clean. Crop sensor doesn’t even matter in my opinion. Make sure if you want to shoot in 120p you buy a V60 sd card at the least so it can handle it. It will not shoot 120 on a v30. Buy it! Dont wait anymore just get it!

Love the 4k 60fps video from the FX30. I primarily use it to shoot soccer videos (I shoot each 45 minute half to keep the whole match in a more manageable size for other parents/kids to download from MS OneDrive). It's nice to not have to worry about the camera overheating in the sun and losing precious videos of my kids. I have shot videos in the summer in Virginia in the mid-90's with high humidity and the FX30 performed like a champ. I used to shoot 4k 30fps videos with the a6600 which was great, but it did overheat/shutdown in mid-90's heat in Arizona and ended up missing some nice match moments.

The Sony FX30 works really well. The video quality is sharp and professional, and it’s easy to use for both beginners and experienced creators. I’m very happy with this camera and highly recommend it for anyone looking to shoot high-quality content.!

Been a wedding videographer for 11 years and have never had a tool that makes my job easier than this camera. Terrific image quality, great in low-light, well designed and built well, integrated fans help with overheating. Sony has made significant improvements over the years to the menu and functionality. Overall incredibly value in a lightweight package. Highly recommended.

I’m so happy with this camera. It’s an amazing entry point into Sony’s cinema line, so you can learn their tech and terminology that will carry over to their higher-end cameras when the time comes. With some learning and experimentation, I’ve been able to customize this camera for my uses and get truly professional, cinematic footage. The amount of camera you’re getting for under 2K is groundbreaking.

Wonderful camera! Video quality is great and it even takes good pictures if you need it to! My videos looks beautiful and professional. It shoots in RAW so the color grading looks gorgeous in the editing room because it gives you so much to work with. The 4k videos have looked great! Some settings are a little complicated but not hard once you know where everything is. The camera itself is gorgeous too.

Before I purchase this camera, I was incredibly hesitant, I was filming with 2 a7iii that mostly did everything I needed, I even figured out a perfect picture profile to produce great skin tones. However, I ran into the need to to shoot at 60 frames per second at 4K and unfortunately, the cameras I had were not capable. I went as far to consider selling both my cameras just to purchase the FX3 but that also seemed way out of my budget. How could I trade two cameras for one even though the FX3 is a great camera, especially in low light. then, and associate recommended meet the FX30 reminding me that I would be shooting with a 6K sensor that with down sample to 4K all at a fraction of the cost of the FX3. The main reason I purchase the FX 30 was because I already had some crop sensor lenses that I could use on it the Tamron, 17–70. works great with this camera btw. Matter of fact, I work, so great that I sometimes forget that I am not shooting in full frame. I do eventually want to purchase it but for now this has been a great camera and the Best Buy ;)

I dont care what anyone say, my crop sensor footage looks better than videographers with full frame. It can shoot 4k 60 no problem and is super light. Menu layout is really easy to use and this camera for the price is a steal in my opinon.

Since I've purchased this camera I have used it a few times and I must say , I really love this camera. They say it's not a low light camera but in my opinion it's actually really good in low light. I'd definitely recommend this camera to anyone looking to produce some great video footage.

This apsc super 35 “cinema camera” is the best bang for your buck at this price range. With industry leading autofocus, access to sony full frame and apsc glass with the e mount it makes it a great entry camera. It’s an all around great camera with superb image quality and 10bit color making it great to work with in post. It’s great if you’re just getting into film making or commercial/production work. This camera is one that is reliable however I do miss the EVF and mechanical shutter on this camera and it limits photography if that’s also something you’re interested in. My first camera had a problem where the shutter was failing and the camera kept turning off however I was able to replace it right away at Best Buy and get a brand new one at a discounted price since they were able to price match!

The FX 30 is a great deal for a cinema camera. I originally planned on saving up ~$8,000 for an FX6 and one lens but when I saw the FX 30 and its price, I knew this was the camera for me. Now I can use my apsc lenses and I can start buying full frame lenses for when I'm ready to buy a full-frame camera. I do miss having a hybrid camera but the stills this takes are very good. Having two card slots, a full size hdmi connection, excellent auto focus and stabilization really makes my job easy, so I'm very happy with this purchase.

This camera is built to perfection! I'm so happy with it! I'm filming short films on it daily!
