I had the original APS-C sensor 2005 Sony bridge camera, DSC-R1, as my first digital camera which was extraordinary for its time. I then upgraded to Sony's 1" sensor bridge camera DSC-RX10 (mark I) which was lighter in weight and extended the zoom to a 24-200 mm equivalent. I loved this camera but its limitation in telephoto range prevented great wildlife and bird photography as well as its slow focus in certain situations had me eagerly awaiting this Mark IV. This camera extends the zoom to 600 mm telephoto for wildlife and birds.while the phase detection focusing solves the slow focusing problems with the preceding Mark I, II and II versions of the RX10. It is hard to imagine a version which would lead me to upgrade again. The only way to replace this camera with a DSLR or mirrorless would require a large camera bag full of lenses. For active travel, the RX10 Mark IV is perfect and solves the shortcomings of other bridge cameras.

Extremely easy to use on auto focus with built in telephoto lens. Great pictures. I now have 2 of these cameras. My wife liked using mine so much that I gave her one for a gift

It's an old technology camera but the images are perfect, very easy to use and learn if you are new to photography.

Hi ErtD, Thank you for sharing your feedback on this camera. Sony's commitment to customer satisfaction is our top priority. Even though this camera has been release for a while now, it's features were designed to still be able to compete with similar models, if not surpasses them, especially with its fast aperture of f/2.8-4 for a 24-600mm zoom range. Definately be great to those who are new to photography or an experience photographer whose looking for a lighter weight camera with a large zoom range, without compromising quality. Thank you again for sharing and thank you for choosing Sony. -Linda (Sony Social Support)

i debated for months to make this purchased because it is kind of pricey, but I am very pleased with this camera. Still have lots to learn, with all the bells and whistles, but so far, so great!

I have a lot of Canon DSLR gear with interchangeable lenses from wide angle to major telephoto, but this camera simplifies my travel situation substantially. It takes very good quality indoor photos, as well as landscape and telephoto shots outdoors. For many situations, it will be far simpler to be able to use a single camera, rather than drag around a (literally) 20 pound camera bag with all of my other gear, while still getting excellent quality photos. One can still shoot in manual mode to control ISO, f stop, and shutter speed, to allow control in situations with uneven lighting. I am very pleased with the purchase

I have had the Sony RX10 IV for about 5 weeks, and am very impressed by it’s potential and capabilities. Great lens, very nice viewfinder that turns on when a face comes near, and super zoom. I am nowhere near learning all the possibilities with the camera, bought a 270 page book by Alexander White which explains the very extensive menu system, and getting the most from the camera. Keeping the mind alive during the pandemic figuring all this out.

I have moved up from a great Nikon DSLR and I couldn’t be happier. This is a real jewel of a camera. Fast, smooth, quiet and I am hooked. Does really tack sharp closeups.

I wanted a slow-motion camera to video specific fast moving objects and decided on this camera even though I was expecting everything else to be less than stellar. How wrong I was. Everything about this camera from lens to image quality is amazing!!! I can zoom in from 250+ feet and film slo-mo perfectly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANPeNY0MIi8 My iPhone 6s made the image/video look like I was at the back of an auditorium with the band the size of my pinky. HIGHLY recommended.

Wanted to get a better camera than my cell phone for a family vacation and wedding. All I can say is WOW! This camera does not disappoint. There's so much you can do and so much more I have to learn (left it in auto mode for this trip) but I'm loving every minute of it. If you want to step up from a cell phone but are intimidated by all the lens choices for a DSLR, this RX10 IV has you covered. Do yourself a favor and search YouTube for the model to see pros putting this model through it's paces and the beautiful images it's capable of producing

This camera is phenomenal. I no longer carry my heavy 600 zoom for wildlife shots as the RX10 has a built in zeis lens with optical zoom from wide angle 24mm to 600mm and is very light. If you backpack, this is your go to digital camera. Unfortunately. Sony quit making them.

Great all around camera. Fantastic long zoom, and sharp too. It will do for almost any situation. Fast focus. A long fairly complex menu system.

This is a great camera for low light and close up pics. The zoom isn’t as far as I’d have liked, but picture quality is superb if you know how to do manual settings.`Prices is way too high when you can get a DSLR that will do better.

I’m not a professional at all, but looking at the pics I’ve taken since having this camera, you would think they were taken by a real professional photographer. I get so many compliments on my pictures now. This camera is amazing and I take it everywhere! The zoom is insane! There are still so many things I haven’t figured out about all the bells and whistles with it, but I will eventually. This is a great buy and investment. You won’t be disappointed.
