Purchased this yesterday with a reward certificate. I'll be returning it today. I agree with a lot of the other reviews: instructions are surprisingly complicated for a clock radio. Nature sounds didn't sound very natural, overall sound quality was pretty poor on my music (tinny and too soft.) Had to turn the time display illumination off last night because it was so bright, even on the dimmest setting. This morning, with the display lit again, I had trouble reading it from across the room due to the blue on blue display. Disappointed.

This clock is way too bright for me to fall asleep at night. It lights up the room quite a bit. I returned it because it was just too bright. I didn't get a chance to use any of the other features so I can only review on the brightness.

this sony dream machine clock radio is great you can go 2 sleep hearing nature sounds or the radio..it's small and does not need alot of space....has a sleep timer,baclight brightness button..and it shows the room temp..which is really cool...ITS GREAT GO AND GET IT.!!

The display on this clock was too difficult to read in dim light (like in the middle of the night). We liked all the options of the dual alarms and sound, but not being able to read the time at night was a deal breaker for us - we returned this clock.

The Brightness of this clock is too bright, even on low, and you can't see the time when the light is out. Also, the alarm off button is too hard to find, so I have to hit the snooze button first then turn it off....after I turn a light on too see it.

I don't mind spending $50 for a Sony product but you would think that someone at Sony would have put this through its paces before selling. The display has 2 brightness levels or no illumination. The least bright is so bright that at night you can't make out the numbers until your eyes adjust. Also, it is too bright if you like a dark room to sleep in. As a clock radio bedside, it's not useful because of the lighting

This is/ was the worst alarm clock I ever had. I bought it for the display and size. These aspects were what I expected, but the rest was terrible. I consider myself fairly competent with new technologies but tuning and programming this alarm clock were incredibly difficult to figure out and I was late to work multiple times as a result. I was never able to make the alarm function work reliably and the device met an untimely end as a result of my frustration. Don't buy this alarm clock!!

This clock has too many bells an whistles. It is annoying to set up as you have to go through repetitive steps for each function, The face is way too bright, even with the brightness dimming capability.

Very disappointed in product usability. I've been a Sony fan for years, but the button design and marking is very poor... 3 days into this product and have not successfully managed to get the alarm to wake to music or even a buzzer still. One more chance and then it gets packed up and returned to the store.

I had actually done some research before I bought this alarm clock it had gotten mixed reviews but I liked all the features it had so I bought it. Big mistake this is the worst alarm clock I have ever seen. 1. the blue light on the front lights up the entire room even when you have it one dim. 2. it has the most complicated system of setting the dual alarms. 3. the nature sounds are terrible the rain sounds like static. 4. very light weight and feels cheaply made. 5. to top it off it was all scratched on the front. After one night with this alarm clock I immedialty returned it to Best Buy and they refunded my money with no problem. I have since purchased the Timex T740BC am/fm dual alarm redi-set clock radio (which also has soothing sounds and an always charged flashlight) and I absolutely love it! No problems at all with the Timex.

my wife doesn't like the sounds of birds that are included in the beach noise, otherwise very good

Nice compact clock radio, but would not play AM radio in the spot I needed it. Too much static and the ariel needed to be held to get the reception. FM played great, but want AM.

BAD TINNY SPEAKER.. NATURE SOUND SOUND REALLY FAKE.. I WILL RETURN THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.. I EXPECT BETTER QUALITY FROM SONY

Between the thermometer, white noise, MP3 hookup and a display bright enough to be a night light, this is great for a nursery. I use it every day, and so do my friends. They should market it as such. I'll be buying a second b/c the dual alarm feature is great. My wife and I work different hours, so it's nice to be able to set two alarms.

This is a very nice unit for those of us who prefer to use non Apple products. I'm sure it would work with those as well, but it's nice to have something of quality that works well with any MP3 player out there.

Bought this yesterday. When my wife turned off the lights for bedtime it took her about 30 seconds to turn the clock radio on its face. The blue back light, even on low, lite up the whole bedroom. Was informed that this is going back. Also the black LCD numbers are very hard to read against the blue background. Really bad for an otherwise good product.

Lots of good features; however, this is a complex clock for me. But the real disappointment is the low sound of the alarm in every setting except radio. The alarm settings need to be much louder.

This is a good alarm clock for the price. It allows you set two different alarm time although the process to set the alarms is rather involved when compare to a standard alarm clock. It also has a built in cable to allow you to connect your smart phone or music device to play your own music.

The sound was very "tinny", no base and no way to add any. Radio very light weight and fairly easy to set up.

This clock radio is a piece of junk!! We always thought Sony was a good brand, this radio is awful. It is hard to set up and once you have it set up you can't read the time. The back lighting is a light blue and the numerals are a little darker blue. Unless you are within inches of the clock it is impossible to read the time. If we had not thrown out the box this would be going back to the store. We will never get another Sony product again.
