The best Sony apsc telephoto

The auto focus is fast and silent the oss is smooth i use this lens for automotive, sports amd wildlife photography. The only con would be for me is low light isnt the best being variable apature but for the price and range youbget make it well woth the price

Excellent Telephoto Zoom Zens for portability

I have APSC A6300 and fullframe A7riii cameras, but mostly paired it with A7riii for maximum versatility and color dynamic range in taking landscape, wildlife, and portraits. At 70mm setting, the lens acts a like full-frame lens in uncropped mode with almost no vignetting. I've also tried Sigma 100-400mm/150-600mm Canon EF lens + MC11, but those are a bit too big for portability and handling. With this lens, I don't feel like I'm missing out in terms of image quality and reach for most of the shots I want to take. Got it for Open Box (like new from Best Buy) at $728, which was a steal. Sample shots are being attached. Some sharpening in LR was done due to small birds being quite far away.

Owned for 11 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned the 55-210 Sony telephoto lens, but wanted more "reach", so I considered several other telephoto lenses but settle on the Sony 70-350mm G lens for the apsc sensor. There are other choices from other manufacturers as well as from Sony, but I've always had the best experience with native lenses on Sony cameras. This one is reasonably compact and relatively light yet still has significant reach (35mm equivalent is 525mm), is pretty sharp, has good manual focus capability and is reasonably priced as well. Excellent value.

Love this lens!

Wow, do I love this thing. Autofocus seems to be fairly quick reliable. It can be quite sharp. And even at f/6.3 fully zoomed, a shallow depth of field is possible with impressive bokeh. At $900 this lens is a steal.

Great balance between reach and portability.

Shooting these are a joy and it's very fast as well. Very good reach and easy to use. Great balance between reach and portability. I am able to fit this in my Peak Design 6L Everyday sling bag + another lens.

I do have a 200-600 as well, and i normally use that because I like the extra reach, and i don't mind the weight. BUT, if you want a light weight wildlife travel lens for the a6000 series cameras, this is it. very small and easy to handhold.

Best lens you can get for Le Mans

And, this lens is pretty heavy. I wish it cost $800, not $1100 for this aperature, so if this lens were a fixed F4 it would be basically flawless. Sobthat could be better. Overall, it is razor sharp and has good OSS.

Great birding lens

This is the 1st 'G' lens i've used and the results were stunning. I recently purchased a 5 yr old a6000 that was still brand-new from a relative that really needed an all-in-one point-n-shoot. The 2 'kit' lenses were good but this 70-350mm 'G' lens is a huge step up in image quality. Like the camera, this lens is in keeping with the smaller mirrorless camera theme. Birding with this new lens is very rewarding and fun.

What an upgrade from kit lens

Perfect "Grownup" Sony G!

The photos are sharp - center and edges - and absolutely gorgeous. Manual is particularly useful for moon shots. OSS, all the features for an advanced and amateur photogs. Worth every nickel, plus a nice Best Buy membership discount!

A Great Lens for A6XXX Series Cameras

Be aware that it is not a full frame lens however and there is currently no Sony tele-convertor solution for this lens. On an A6000 series camera images are crisp and vibrant.
