Really had no choice. Had to buy it to play online

This is by far one of the best deals going in video games. For less than $5 a month, you get at least two new games for each system that you own (PS3, PS4, PS Vita), many of which are highly rated games that were released in the last year or two, or even better, a new release PSN game. Even if you don't own the system, you can go online and "purchase" the games, and then you will have a ready made collection of games when you do purchase it. If you have a PS3 and plan on eventually getting a PS4, you can make use of it while you have the PS3 and whenever you finally buy the PS4, a bunch of games will be ready for you. This really is a no-brainer, even if you don't have the time to play the games currently, as long as you maintain your PS+ membership, you will have access to those games.

It doesn't matter if you have PS3, PS4, or just the Vita, you have to get PS+. Many online multiplayer games on the PS4 require a PS+ subscription, but even if they didn't or if you don't have a PS4, the PS+ is still a MUST-BUY. First, let's talk about the free games you get every month with PS+. In the past year, the free games have included Secret Ponchos, Outlast, Don't Starve, Fez, InFamous: First Light, Dragon's Crown, BioShock Infinite, Payday 2, Tomb Raider, Batman: Arkham City, just to name a few. PlayStation Plus offers subscribers new content every month, from games to add-ons to various themes and avatars. This is an incredible value for anyone who wants a consistent stream of new content every month without having to worry about the hassle of renting or buying. PlayStation Plus offers a wide variety of games each month, and all you have to do is download what you want and it's yours for as long as you're a subscriber.

PS4 now requires a subscription service to play online with friends. Sony eventually realized they couldn't afford to maintain that service for free forever, but at least they give free games every month with PS+. There have been some AAA titles as well as indie games, you'll have plenty to play as long as you continue PS+. Once you cancel, you'll lose access to the free games (until you rejoin PS+).

Just a quick synopsis of what this membership does for you. The best value overall is of course the full year subscription. Not to start a flame war of consoles but this surpasses Xbox Live perks by a mile. You get 4-6 free games a month to use as you have the subscription. Once you try this, you will not want to give it up. The games they let you download for free (and yes they are full content games) are top tier AAA games. You also get perks like free game betas, exclusive themes/avatars, major discounts on further discounted games/themes/avatars and dlc content. They just made the automatic update feature free to everyone but that was part of it as well. Truly hard to pass up once you have experienced it even once.

I type in the code on the back and voila, I got another year of PS Plus. It lets me play online and gives me confidence that Sony is using the money to maintain their infrastructure as best they can. Also, I get a few free games a month. Not too shabby. And I get to play online for a year and get other little incentives, like a few more bucks off during sales and pre-releases.

Sony has come a long way in terms of network reliability. PS Plus has become a great service and a must have for anyone wanting to play their games only. But, that's not all! You get free games every month that make it worth it for the price of admission alone! I don't know how Sony does it, but they have managed to create an extremely value propositioned online service!

As of 11/29/2013, by becoming a PS+ member you get 22 games! 2 for PS4, 13 for PS3 and 7 for PSVita. The games are cycled every month so old ones are replaced by new entries on the PlayStation Store. You'll have a hard time finding time to play them all. The games are accessible for as long as you stay a PS+ member and can be downloaded on as many as 3 systems. The games don't even have to be downloaded right away, you can simply "purchase" them on the PlayStation Store (even from a PC) for the cool price of $0 and they'll be added to your "purchase history". From there the games can be downloaded on the respective system at any time when you sign in. You'll also benefit from cloud storage for your game saves, as well as sales on new games.

I bought a Playstation Plus subscription about a month ago. Since then, I've downloaded 3 games from their free library. It's basically paid for itself already with 11 months to spare. It's a win win product for people that want to continually get new content for their PS3, but don't want or can't afford to shell out $60 per game. The only downfall of PS+ is that people who have older versions of the PS3 probably will have hard drive space issues. The game downloads can easily take up more than 8GB each. I think the Uncharted 3 download required something crazy like 40GB. I don't think I'll run into a problem since I have the 250GB model, but it's worth mentioning for others out there who may have bought a PS3 early on.

PS+ is worth the price tag for free games every month. Also you get discount as a member which is always a plus. But the star here is the free games you get and they are great titles. So far I am enjoying my subscription and it has pay it off with the amount of free games I got from it.

Playstation Plus delivers great value for the money. You get instant access to an incredible digital library - and this grows over time as new free games are released for PS Plus every month. Although you lose those games if your subscription expires, you also get a discount on other games and can keep those games afterwards even if your plus subscription expires. Getting 1 GB of cloud backup for game saves has been invaluable for me as well. Automated backups of saves to the cloud, as well as automatic downloads of game and system updates are a really nice feature. I especially like that you are not required to buy this plan in order to use online gaming on the PS3.

Hands down the best value you have on consoles. Every month, the free games alone pay for it. If you have PS4, MP is a must and this is needed. Also, and I think this is often overlooked, the additional discounts you get on sales is great. Money in the bank! :)

You absolutely cant play certain games without this (ie: Destiny) but you also need it for online multiplayer for literally any other game. 1 star off because i believe this should be cheaper, but I have to admit, the free games with PS Plus are usually decent and make it worth the $50 a year. Rocket League for example was free a few months back and it's an AMAZINGLY fun arcade style multiplayer game. Do yourself a favor and pick that up if you haven't yet.

PSN service is very good. There are occasional problems with servers going down, but nothing major. There are free games offered each month. One subscription gets you 6-7 games free on PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. I only own a PS4. The free games for PS4 have been lacking but things should start to heat up soon. If you haven't been a plus member now is about the time. Once again, plus is required for all online gaming (Destiny, Call of Duty, Fifa, Madden).

pretty awesome. ps+ is pretty great. Free games, discounts on games, and now with ps4 its required for online multiplayer so its pretty much a requirement.

I've had my PS3 for a year. It came with 3 months of PS+. I assumed I would end my membership after the trial's conclusion, but the amount of free games and discounts provided a can't miss deal. While you don't own the games provided, you can access them as long as you're a member. It's essential and a better deal than Xbox Live.
