This allowed me to play my vita on a large TV. It makes having a vita unnecessary (unless you want the portibility)

I have a PS4 and a PS Vita, so I figured this would be a great way to be able to play PS4 games on a different TV without needing to move the unit around. I already have the PS Vita, so I have games that I thought would run on the PS TV already plus from the Vita I thought the streaming performance of the PS TV would be quite good (as it is on the Vita). Well on pretty much everything the PS TV is a great disappointment. It does a very poor job of streaming, even though a Vita, in the same place, on the same network does a much better job. The PS TV image is overly compressed, noisy, dark and most importantly laggy. Yes I know every setting inside out, I've been dealing with electronics since the 80s, there is no user performance, its just not a good streaming unit, and inferior to the Vita for whatever reason. The PS TV is very directional as well, I notice if I move it a few degrees I can get better performance as far as streaming, but its never very good. Also the other issue is Vita games. Most games I've tried do not work. Additionally I've had the unit since it launched and I have yet to see a single game that didn't work become supported. It really seems like this is already a dying product and based on all the price cuts I've seen, I'm pretty sure that's the case. Overall this has been a very disappointing purchase.

Don't Believe any Best Buy employee. Looked online, asked two employees, both said that it would stream Amazon prime. It doesn't. This is worthless. Not sure what it does, other than allow you to buy TV, games or movies. Already have this. Don't waste your hundred dollars.

If you want to play games like destiny, do not buy this trash! I'm returning mine. When I tried playing destiny, it would disconnect me at least 5 times while I'm fighting... Now if you want it for a simple game that doesn't require soo much data to be sent from router and your ps4, then I think it might work.. But still, I would not recommend this at all to anyone.

It is great for PS + members who don't have a vita. It can play PS NOW which is a subscription based like netflix for games. It is small and compact. Negatives are no netflix app and expensive memory cards and it looks like Sony is abandoning it.

If you were considering this, for the retail price, it's not really worth it. If it goes on sale, it's definitely worth it. The setup isn't as complicated as I thought it would be and it was a decent way for me to be able to play my PS4 in my bedroom, without going anywhere, but there is a bit of lag. For what I wanted to do, it's fine, but I could see how this would upset many gamers, to the point that they'd just go to use their PS4 in whatever room it is hooked up in, vs. using this. That said, I love tech, so I'm always trying out new ideas and the concept was a great one, but wish there was a little more R&D done, prior to making it available for retail purchase. Since this has been discontinued by Sony, they obviously didn't want to spend more money on developing it. It actually might have been a product that was released prior to the consumers really being ready for it.

You are only allowed to play a few Vita games on this, and the apps you can use on this are limited. It’s possible it has more uses with the PS4, but I only had a Vita. You can pass safely on this product.

Sorry but it simply is not worth it. It's just like a vita but on a big screen. You can't play many vita games like uncharted. The connection to ps4 lags a lot... No nextflix.... Bottom line is useless...

It works fine as a digital streaming box, with the added bonus of having the ability to play decent games. If you're not interested in handheld gaming, this is a fine way to play Vita games if you have to. That said, the Playstation TV works best if you already have a Playstation system (this model doesn't even include a remote or controller). The main reason to get it is the ability to stream content from your PS4/PS3 to another TV in the same house. It CAN actually be used to control your Playstation over the internet but the lag is such that for most games you wouldn't want to. And using this purely as a digital streaming box is a waste, as there are cheaper and better options for that. The Playstation TV is a very nice companion device. But your satisfaction with it depends entirely on how often you find the need to switch TVs.

useless, doesn't really provide any value. If you want to play psvita games get a vita, otherwise stay away.

This always had an issue of some sort. Never seemed to work or had terrible streaming quality

I returned this unplayable box!! Don't waste your money. Sony needs to fix this buggy thing.
