Got it at good price. Works best hardwired as it reduces lag. Streams well.

I've found that this is a very good item to stream your PS4 content to another TV in the house without having to move the console. I have the PS4 plugged into home network via ethernet cable and the PSTV downstairs in the basement getting the signal via Wi-Fi. I'd say the picture looks the tiniest bit less smooth, but I don't detect any input lag at all. Getting it on sale was a great deal for this. As a stand alone item though, it's not great. The game selection isn't awesome and it doesn't have a lot of its own features. But if you want to have access to your PS4 on a second TV, it is a great pickup.

Great PS4 accessory, no so great Streaming device

I'm a big PlayStation fan, and I've owned every single PlayStation device ever released: PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PSP, Vita and now PS TV. The PS TV appeared great in concept -- a streaming device that could let you remote play your PS4, access PS Now... and better yet use up to 4 controllers? Awesome. The problem is, that's all it currently is. Over a month after launch, and Sony still released the amazon prime, or Netflix apps; and when they do, it'll be capped at 720p/1080i -- without surround sound. Here are my pros: 1.) Remote play my PS4 in another room. 2.) Remote play my PS4 in another room with up to 4 controllers! 3.) Ability to stream PS Now games -- including the ability to save a PS Now game on your PS3/Vita/PS4 and pick it back up on the PSTV. 4.) Ability to play PS Now games with up to 4 controllers! 5.) Ability to play (some) vita games. Here are my complaints: 1.) No Netflix app (even though the vita has an app without profiles), no amazon prime. 2.) 720p/1080i -- and no 5.1 surround sound. 3.) PSTV cannot currently take microphone/headphone input/output from the Dual Shock 4. This means there is no headphone or Party chat support. 4.) Party chat is horribly awkward between the Vita/PSTV and the PS4. 5.) Streaming quality is worse on the PSTV than the Vita for the most part. Until their recent patch -- the quality was horrible on wifi. Now its playable... just not as good as the Vita. In summary -- If you want a streaming device with casual gaming -- get the Amazon Fire TV. If you want the ability to stream your PS4 to another TV get this device.

Don't Buy it to Play Vita Games

When Best Buy offered a PlayStation TV with a PS4 in a bundle deal, it was enough to finally push me to take the step into the current gen of consoles. I now regret taking this bundle instead of grabbing one with something useful, like an extra ps4 game. The pstv is hot garbage, at least when it comes to meeting my needs. The item description of the PSTV here omits some very important details. The PSTV does not have enough internal memory to play any digital video games. You have to purchase a PS Vita memory card. Cha ching, money down the drain to play any digital titles you may already have from your PS+ membership or bought in anticipation of the new machine....assuming the pstv will even play them. The "host of PS Vita games" line sounds promising, but you'll be very disappointed when you look at the actual list. The majority of games that are supported are only the ones that are already available on the ps3/ps4. The majority of Vita exclusive titles are not compatible with the pstv. I wish the item description here had more information, for I would not have wasted my one time purchase on such a worthless piece of technology. Perhaps it is useful for those who need to stream their ps4 to another room (I have no need to try this feature), but for those who are like me and were hoping to open themselves up to the PS Vita game catalog, it is all but useless. Research this product elsewhere to see if it meets your needs, or you'll be stuck with an $80 paperweight like me. Thanks for the limited and misleading product description, Best Buy!

If you wanna get into vita games but don't want to shell out all the money for a vita, this is a good option. Especially if you already have ps3 or ps4 hardware. I also appreciate that it barely takes up any space at all. Works like a charm. I only wish it had more memory built-in - there's not much you can do with 1GB, so if you plan to buy games you have to get a memory card, which ISN'T cheap at all.

While this unit is absolutely an amazing piece of hardware, SONY has not backed it with enough VITA software / games that are compatible. However the online store is riddled with exceptional retro titles and current titles like Ultimate Ghosts n' Goblins. The price tag on this is awesome and I hope SONY does more with it SOON! B-

Upscaled PSVita & PSP titles look great on the device. I'd recommend using the dualshock 4 controller for Vita titles. I purchased mainly to experience Persona 4 Golden/Killzone Mercenary/Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 on the big screen hooked to a 7.2 receiver. Well worth the purchase (I picked it up during one of its many sales).

    Small unit for playing PS4

This isn't a bad unit for streaming PS4 games and playing in another room. The image is a little dark as others reported but not to bad, and the image isn't as crisp but again you are trying to stream high resolution games through your network so to reduce lag you would need to compromise somewhere.

    HUGE potential

Sony just needs to give this little box a little more love in its operating system & apps, and this can be a real home run. I've only had a chance to try a few older game titles, but they ran fine. Looking forward to trying a number of others once I get a memory card. Media playback also appears to work well. Media transfer from a computer looks like an unnecessary hassle with the Content Manager software - and only applicable to those on Windows and Mac. The rest of the world gets a Network Media Player app to play media from their home networks - the U.S. needs this app too! Web browsing takes a little getting used to, but once you do, works well. I couldn't get any streaming radio from the web to work, but streaming video seems to work fine. So if you want to stream music, probably the best option is streaming thru YouTube. Hopefully, we'll get some decent improvements and updates over the course of 2015.

There are a few things to know before you buy this. 1. It takes a special memory card. Only PlayStation Vita memory cards work. The unit comes with 1 GB internal memory though. 2. You need to set up a PlayStation network account. Very easy to do and can be done when you hook this up. 3. It comes with a HDMI cable!. I only mention this because companies are usually stingy with them. 4. You can play a lot of VITA games but not all. Be sure to download a compatibility list. The unit does not come with a list of games that will work. 5. The unit plays some PlayStation 1 games. They are easy to download and play. 6. Be careful if you decide to use double sided tape on the bottom of this like I did. You can disassemble the flimsy plastic by accident if you yank on it too hard. Overall I give this a very high score.

I bought it knowing that the Netflix app didn't work and that currently there's no plan to make it work. So then I thought to myself, well I can just stream the ps4 to it and use the Netflix app on the ps4. So I bought my ps4 and last night I linked the two and guess what? The Netflix app won't work while the consoles are linked. Ridiculous. I'm thinking of returning it. The streaming of games does seem to work nicely though. I tested it out for a few minutes with shadow of mordor and there didn't seem to be any problems or lag. I have the ps4 wired and the ps tv on WiFi.

I got this free when I purchased my PS4. While, the concept is cool, it doesn't always work good. I have it hooked up via hard wire ethernet in my home, but it still occasionally disconnects from my main PS4. I wound up putting it on a basement TV so its not used a lot, but I also wish it had more streaming video options like Netflix and Hulu. Too bad. Its a cool idea to be able to play your PS4 in another room, but maybe some future firmware upgrades will give it better connectivity.

Needs a vita memory card, which is highly priced but much cheaper than an actual vita system. Does not play all games but many of the significant ones are playable.

    Playstation VITA on tv

Alright So I bought one of these yesterday and so far it is a great product. I can play PS1, PSP, and PSVita games on my TV. I can stream music and video from my pc and ps3 to this device which is really cool. As of now I can stream games from my ps4 and play them on the playstation tv. I did a test with my cell phone hotspot and yes you can stream your playstation 4 games to your playstation tv over the internet so its like always having your ps4 with you. Sony will update this device to have better options as time goes on but for day one it is a pretty chill device. pros has a large game selection. Cons ps4 streaming could be a little better but hey updates will come.

I got this for remote play to my bedroom tv from the PS4 in the living room. I have router/modem combo so I thought it was going to be poor streaming. It works just fine and I am happy I don't have to move my PS4 from room to room. I haven't tried any Vita games on the playstation tv but I would imagine those would work fine considering the Vita platform.
