Wow this works on most blue rays. But this update thing you have to do after you buy a product that should work anyway is unbelieveable it happened on my first less expensive choce. Best buy wanted 40 dollars after a just had puchased it to update it. Wow so I took it back and got the sony for more. Catch 22

This Sony BDP is a good piece of technology. It's a great Blu Ray player. It starts up fast and loads the movies quickly. The streaming on the Blu Ray player is also pretty good. It's not quite as fast as a Roku and does not have nearly as many apps but still is plenty sufficient for most people.

Bought for a myself and as a gift. Replaced my noisy and slow Vizio Blu Ray player with this pocket-sized speed machine (not really but close). This little guy has exceeded my expectations for the price. It is quiet, fast, and full of options. So happy I added the second one to the cart for myself.

it works great I have no problem with it. I hasn't broken down since I got sound great excellent sound quality when I put on a dvd/blu ray. this is the first time I play a blu ray player. The brand is good quality to buy it

We got this device to replace our XBox 360 for streaming and DVDs/Blue-Ray play. It has all the apps we needed and streams flawlessly but the Home screen and buttons are somewhat slow to respond to remote input, causing small frustration and confusion compared to XBox. Otherwise, very happy with device.

I assumed because it was a SONY it would be great. Sorry SONY but this unit is a piece of junk! No digital display (which I was aware of before purchase) This player takes forever to read a disc telling you there's no disc. Takes too long to the "initiate" and doesn't remember the last place you were on a disc and always re starts from the beginning when you put a disc in. Bottom line, don't waste your money, spend a little more or even a lot more and buy a different player

It’s the first time I’ve ordered on line from Best Buy. I received my item in a timely fashion with the packaging in perfect condition. I’m very happy with my experience with Best Buy and will definitely use their on line ordering again.

The associate recommended the Sony over the LG, but wishing I would have gone with the LG that was the exact same price. I just don’t care for the display, and I’m not a fan of the way the remote was set up.

Purchased in hope to download the major streaming apps. I found there was no App Store and only had YouTube and Netflix pre installed. Okay if you just want to watch movies via DVD

A basic solid Blu-ray player from Sony. It is not a high-end player. For the latest features you have to go to a 4k player. However, for watching all of your old DVDs and Blu-ray movies this works just fine on any 4k big screen TV.

I saw this model on a review at CNET's website and they recommended it for viewing movies with HD screens. It has a bunch of extra apps and internet connection ability which I personally do not need but nice to have.

Does everything the box says it will. No hassle addition to my system. Only drawback for me was no rca jack audio output and no optical audio output so I can't run audio through home theatre box. The jury is out on if it lasts more than a year, which has been my problem with this type of product.

i really love this player. great 4k output and sound output if you directly connect it to your sound system. At times it may freeze but its only once in a while. I think its because of overheating so dont place it in a enclosed location. A great purchase for starting a movie collection.

Purchased a case for my apple tablet. It was perfect. We have purchased many items from Best Buy. Our ice box that I just love speakers and a 55 inch TV. We also purchased telephones and filters for our ice box. We have also purchased . We enjoy to go to the store to just look around

I recently purchased this smart blu-ray player and it has been absolutely awesome. The interface is much cleaner than the previous model that I owned. It is also much faster at starting up.

I bought this to go with a Sony Bravia TV. It works well for the most part and display quality is good. It has most of the standard apps. The wifi can be slow at times, even when the router signal is strong. The Blu Ray picture quality is unmatched, however. Very nice purchase for an affordable player.

After not having much luck with previous Blu-ray players so far this one has exceeded our expectations. We have not had any issues so far with this device and haven't had the usual issues of skipping. Happy with our purchase so far.

I have not had one minute of trouble with this nice DVD machine. Thanks to the salesman who sold it to me. He was honest about the one I would need and the pros and cons of all the DVD's. Really appreciated his help.

A decent player but your occasionally get a message saying it can"t find the signal source which means you have to open and close the tray again> I wish the instruction manual went into a little more detail about the remote as i would love to know what the red and yellow and blue buttons do

I bought this to turn a "dumb" TV into a "smart" TV, and it worked! I had to get an HDMI switch to connect all of the HDMI cables (DVD player, the TV, and the cable box), but it all works. Only thing is I have manually change the switch to connect to the apps. Wish it was a little simpler.
