Probably a good product if it would work...

Just like the Canon Rebel camera package ordered two years ago in the mail, this item does not work and will need to be exchanged at store! Great troubleshooting video online that walks you through the setup. The problem is that the setup screen does not appear after the Sony Blu-ray logo. Trouble is not in the HDMI but unit itself. I will review again after I get an item that works!

Damaged packaging

There could have been hidden damage to the unit.I don't know who trains your packing personal but a 2 year old could have done a better packing it. the 1 star is only because you don' have a MINUS 10 star rating. I will never buy anything from Best Buy again.

The worst connected blu-ray player ever.

There is a wi-fi connection, but it is slow and unresponsive. The player takes a long time to boot up, is prone to losing the connection, and then you have to start all over again. It works fine as a blu-ray player, but I cannot recommend this for any reason.

Very disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very disappointed that the Sony - BDP-S3700 Blu-ray Player does not have or allow the installation of HBO GO or Spotify. The box says it has over 300 streaming apps but 98% of those apps are from the Opera TV Store app which is just a bunch of junk apps. Best Buy needs to train their sales people on how to answer simple questions like "does this Blu-ray player have HBO Go?" instead of saying "It might, it has over 300 apps".

Not truly multi-region

This player only reads discs labeled Region 1 or all. If you have discs sourced from any other region they will not play on this player. This fact is buried over 30 pages into the instructions.

Poor direct signal

Waste of money

Sometimes it won't come on, and sometimes it won't turn off. It freezes up randomly and response time is extremely frustrating. Now, almost every time I turn it on, the apps have reset and I have to log back I everything. Overall, it has been a waste of money! Planning on replacing soon.

Takes a long time to load channels/shows. Gas numerous errors. Has a hard time loading Prime and Pandora. I gad s Samsung before and never had any of these issues. Thought that since it was a Sony and I had s Sony TV that they would work well. They do not.

Terrible - obsolete BR-DVD and stopped working

Taking it back for refund or to replace with different model.

I replaced it with same model and it suffered the same malfunction within a month without any abuse. I will be bringing it back to Best Buy tomorrow.

Stay away. Units fail within a month

Unplugging did nothing. Sony replaced. Second one failed in same manner within a month. Third one coming. I have no confidence that it will last more than a month. Problem is that it takes 2-3 weeks to mail unit back and get new one mailed back. Total piece of junk. I which I could just get my money back.

Worst product ever

Just over a year old.. and now it does not even recognize the Wifi internet - next to it.. Been looking at the internet, must be a design flaw.. stay away.
