After nine months the bluray player stopped working.

I purchased this to replace two much nicer Samsung Blu-ray players that died in the last year. Frustrating they didn't die completely. They limped along for the last few years playing a disc until the middle before stuttering and stalling. I bought this only to play Discs, not to stream. I did configure all my streaming accounts on this device but our Amazon FireTV is much faster. I didn't expect the streaming features to be stellar given the price point so I consider it a backup. I love the small size of this player. It is handy it has a "Netflix" button on the remote and we set the Favorite button to launch Amazon prime video. It would have been nice to have digital optical audio output but again, given the price point I don't feel cheated. I considered buying a cheaper Sony model from BestBuy but after they price matched this unit, I brought this one home for that price anyhow. Thank you!

I have literally had zero issues with this product. I was shocked at how compact it was but I have not purchased a blu-ray player in over 10 years it seems. I don't really need another device to stream music and other entertainment through either. With that said this is a solid product that I'm enjoying with my family.

My first Blu ray player. Great picture and easy to set up. It's streaming wi-fi and has installed apps - very convenient. Also, you can add more. Only issue I have is it was noisy when playing some older dvds I have.

Originally I bought a Roku for the headphone-jack-in-remote capability, for the bedroom, but instantly regretted the purchase as soon as I left the store. Without hesitation, went back and exchanged for the Wireless Sony BD Player which not only has tons of streaming options, but the quality was outstanding as I've come to expect from all of my Sony products. I definitely recommend Sony to anyone I know shopping for electronics. Setup was a breeze with the wireless capabilities, and I like having the Bluray AND all of the streaming options. It's also nice being able to sync it with my other Sony devices.

I just bought this Sony Blu-ray player today and am very happy with my purchase. I was a little nervous about being able to stream successfully after reading negative reviews, but had no problems. It worked perfectly streaming HBO through my Amazon Prime, with no stuttering or buffering. Picture was great, very clear. It just took a little time to set up with my wireless network, but it wasn't too difficult. I have yet to use it as a BD player, but I'm sure it will be fine.

I purchased this palyer to replace my old one. This one is smaller in size making it easier to fit into the cabinet. It also has WiFi that was easy to set up. Having the USB port on the front of the player makes it really easy to connect other devices.

Sony is a great product. These players usually last us about every two to four years before we have to buy another one. Definitely worth buying the warranty if you watch alot of movies.

The unit works extremely well. I like many of the apps--expecially the Amazon streaming that my Apple TV does not have. I have yet to try the PlayStation 4 streaming feature, but the unit plays extremely well with my other Sony components (TV, Tuner/Amp). No complaints.

Plays dvd fast, also had no problem with Youtube and Netflix. Great for the price.

this blueray play is easy to install and use. it also is made by Sony and is very high wauality too. you can play your playstion game online through this player once you connect a controller to it. It also makes any tv or projector into a smart tv..

plays everything you can possibly throw at it, be it disk, usb, online or network shared folders. most apps are already build in. we are pleased indeed. ; )

Sony is a favorite brand of mine. Their TV's are exceptional as are their camcorders and cameras. In fairness, this is a inexpensive Blu Ray player. The design is compact (a positive for bedroom limited space areas). You get what you pay for of course and Sony has chosen to downgrade quality in lieu of price. I purchased three (3) of these and all three failed (one of them-out of the box). DVD tray freezing on one unit and error codes on the other two saying the disc was dirty or not formatted correctly (no matter what type of DVD I inserted). The other two decks failed after 9 months of limited use. I'm not certain Sony actually makes this deck or simply places its name on it. Many have been sold and I believe this model has been around since 2015 or 2016. If you decide to purchase one, make sure you also purchase the extended warranty from Best Buy. It's essential for this model and Best Buy will replace or repair it for you. Finally, overall the player does a decent job of playing DVD's when it can. The remote is slow and lags when you engage a function. The APPS are fairly decent and a major plus. There are better players so do your homework.

This Sony blu-.ray was extremely easy to setup and operate. Clear easy directions and hooked right into my wi-fi with no problem. I might purchase another to replace my Apple TV

I had an "unsmart" Insignia television in a 2nd floor bedroom. I wanted to add a means to watch Netflix via the Western Digital wireless router on the 1st floor. I was impressed. Wi-Fi setup was a breeze. Netflix runs without any noticeable delays and my wife runs her DVDs on it without a problem. I bought the device on sale and thought the price was very reasonable given the ease of set-up and versatility it adds to television viewing. The only criticism I would add was its inability to pick up the 5 MHz network on the router. It does however seem to have no problems with the alternate 2.2 MHz network.

I had a samsung first and I was very frustrated with it but this Sony is 100x better and definitely worth the little extra money. Highly recommend buying this player.

If you're looking for a smart blu ray I would say go for this.quick and easy set up for both the system and wifi. And again wifi!! No cords no mess

I needed a simple Blu-Ray player to replace one that died. This was easy to setup and is easy to use. Good features and quality for the money.

This is a great blue ray player that does not cheap out on the interface, speed, or design. Movies load quickly with playback, Apps like Netflix and Hulu stream without buffering. The only negative i have with this product is its lack of a digital optical cable output to a surround system.

Love this inexpensive DVD for an extra room. It gives you the Wifi option and is a nice compact little DVD.
