Very user friendly installation.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Originally purchased another top brand and it would not connect to the internet and often lost power. The rep suggested I try the Sony BDPS 3700 Blu Ray w/WiFi saying that a lot of people had spoken well of it. After reading the instructions and following the on screen installation steps I was logging into my Netflix and Amazon Prime account with no problems. It recognized my WiFi network without a problem. It automatically downloaded a new firmware upgrade. Works very well. Minor delays between the time you make a menu selection and the time it actually responds but not a real problem. Thank you Best Buy and SONY for an awesome product. I am not a tech and do not want to become one just so I can watch movies. Sony made it all possible. I highly recommend this player.

Perfect!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a Blu-ray product from Panasonic a few months ago and it was the worst decision ever. It constantly froze and had serious lag time where I would be forced to unplug and reboot the player every other time I turned it on. NOT THE CASE WITH SONY!!! I cannot be any happier with its performance. Highly recommend!!

Old Faithful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this DVD player for awhile now so I have learned it’s strengths and weaknesses. The WiFi feature, many other reviewers have said, it’s not very great. I have this this connected via Ethernet and I recommend you do the same. Even then sometimes it will buffer but it is bearable as it is not frequent. Also, no other audio options but it is a budget player. Now for it’s strengths; playback quality is excellent, actually better than my PS4, much smoother in big action scenes. The remote for me is very comfortable. Also has wide variety of video apps I was surprised to see. Overall, for a lazy Sunday to watch a Redbox Blu Ray or Amazon video movie this thing has not done me wrong yet! Please connect it via Ethernet or look elsewhere for WiFi players!

Solid and well designed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an older Sony BDP S390 that's still working great. I needed a 2nd blue-ray player. I should have stuck with Sony, but I purchased a Samsung blu-ray BD-J5700. It had two major flaws so I returned it and got this Sony BDP-S3700. Much better. While they both have the same newer & improved Netflix app, the Samsung's disc tray vibrates noisily when discs are loaded; very very distracting! Sony's does not. The Samsung''s front has a "sexy modern" slick design that's so bland you can't find any buttons (the product picture is misleading) in poor light. Meanwhile Sony has thoughtfully placed Eject/Load & Power buttons at top right of the device front. These buttons are very visually distinguishable and tactile-friendly. There's a tiny red light on the power button to get your bearings in the dark. Then drift your finger left to hit Eject. And I like that the Power button is not too sensitive; it ignores all my accidental presses when looking for Eject. :)

Good quality blu ray
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this one after our previous blu Ray suddenly broke ( a different brand and less than a year old), so we decided for this one. Since the first day we use it the images and the quality were amazing. Very easy to set up. I use it with the monster cable for better HD.

Great product works well.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This replaced a similar Samsung player that was impossible to set up for internet connection. These timely reviews encouraged the purchase. In no time we were viewing Netflix and YouTube. Extremely pleased with every aspect and the overall performance of the product.

Not 4k!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Blu Ray player is great but it doesn't support 4k. You would think that it wouldn't be a big deal but I just bought a 4k tv and I can't take advantage of it. But that being said it small, sleek, and quiet. Thats all you can really ask for in a Blu-ray player

Does what it needs to
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't speak for the "smart" aspects of the player since I have a smart TV and use it (rather than the blu-ray player) for accessing Netflix, etc. I've only watched one blu-ray on it so far, and was pleased with how everything operated.

complete waste of money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been the worst Sony product we have ever owned-BDPS3700. We had to send our 1st player back to Sony because it was frozen on the blue screen and would not work. Now after about a week of use, the second player is frozen on the black blu ray screen and will not work! I also HATE the remote control. Needless to say this one will be returned for a REFUND and I will be hesitating to purchase anything more with the Sony name...other than a playstation, which we've never had a problem with. Maybe we are supposed to spend $400 on a player for it to work properly!

Finished with Sony
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this product in November, 2016 to replace a five-year old Sony blu-ray player that had developed too many issues to continue using. I was excited to have a streaming device, never having had one before, and we had been wanting to try Netflix for a long time. Setup and connection to our wireless router was easy, and we began streaming. At first, the unit streamed flawlessly, but as we continued we would find that from time to time the streaming speed would drop dramatically to 240 bps, which is half of standard definition and results in an awful picture. After a few minutes the streaming speed would return to an acceptable high definition level but would drop from time to to time to the ridiculous low speed. I checked all settings and options on the Sony but could find nothing that might cause the intermittent drop in streaming speed. Because of this, last December we bought a Roku Ultra to replace the Sony as a streaming device, and we have experienced no issues with drops in streaming speed since. So, this unit is worthless for us as a streaming device, but I'm just getting started. After playing a disc, from time to time the Sony will freeze up and respond to no commands from either the remote or the buttons on the front of the unit. Our old Sony had also developed this issue in its last couple of years, and our only solution was to physically disconnect the power cable and then plug it back it in. I researched this issue on the internet and found scores of others who had the same problem with Sony blu-ray players. Some had contacted the company for help, but no one had ever received a simple solution other than to disconnect and reconnect the power. Given that our old Sony had developed the same issue, I can only assume that the company either doesn't know how to fix this problem, or they just don't care. The third problem our player has developed is that the HDMI jack on the player is beginning to malfunction, resulting in intermittent loss of video from time to time when playing a disc. I have no doubt what is causing the loss of video, because our old Sony developed the same problem after about four years. After extensive trouble-shooting with our old unit, I finally figured out what was causing the video loss when I replaced the HDMI cable with a component cable, which, of course, also required an additional cable for audio. So, while our old Sony needed four years to show this issue, our new one has only taken about a year and a half. I guess the days of confidently knowing that the purchase of a Sony product insured top quality have receded into the sunset. From now on, we are ABS (anything but Sony) when considering prospective electronic products. So long, Sony. It was nice but now it's gone.

Plays Blu-ray fine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I finally broke down and bought a Blu-ray player. The picture quality and sound are fine for the price , but the streaming capabilities leave a bit to be desired.

Nice Blu-ray - But Child Lock Issue Needs Fixing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I debated between the Sony and the Samsung. While there were lots of negative reviews about the Sony and the child lock issue (where the disk can't be removed except by the factory) I was talked into the Sony by the salesman (not pushy though) and my granddaughter. The unit was great initially, but now two months in the system won't update (supposedly another Sony attempt to fix the child lock issue) and the system won't eject the disk. I've done hours of diagnosis from Sony help and online forums, but to no avail. Unfortunately, I didn't get the Best Buy warranty as the factory one was for a year. Sony was good at diagnosing, but to return the unit I had to call another number, that then would call me back (5 days later) Overall, I like the unit, I just wish they would disable the child lock "feature" and be done with it already!
