Honestly it’s better than the rf24-70. It’s way cheaper too.

Great buy compared to spending $1599 plus tax on Canon's 24-70mm lens. Get the same great quality, but at a cheaper price. A very versatile lens.

I didn't want to spend ~$3k for an RF mount lens so I decided to look into the 24-70 f/2.8 from Tamron. This lens does not disappoint. Great stabilization and fantastic clarity. I use it on the EOS R with the EF-RF adapter and have no issues. Definitely recommend!

This lens is much better than the canon version in my opinion. The IS is a must at the long end of the focal length and why canon and Nikon and all major brands didn’t put it in this lens is beyond me. But the lens is extremely sharp, the color is incredible and the bokeh is nice and creamy. The AF is very fast and very quiet. The IS is also extremely quiet. I guess I could say my only complaint is I wish that Tamron would make the switches for af and is flush to the camera like canon becuase they are very easy to accidentally switch off. Either way though for 1200 bucks this lens can not be beaten. I also shoot with the 70-200 g2 and it’s just as incredible.

Quality lens for both EF and EF-to-EOS R mounts

I upgraded to a Canon R6 mk II late last year and opted to get this lens with the EF-EOS R adapter in case i wanted to use the lens with my original EOS Rebel T6i (EF mount). Needless to say, this lens rarely left my R6 II until i started collecting more RF lenses. It’s still my only fast standard zoom, and have no intention of replacing it with the native RF version (the pros outweigh the “inconvenience” of having to use the adapter). Yes, it might not be quite on par with the flagship wide zooms — Canon RF 28-70mm f2 L USM or the RF 24-70mm f2.8 L IS USM or the EF-L equivalent — but for half to almost a third of the price, and with differences only noticeable if you are a notorious pixel-peeper, this is a fantastic lens. It even supports functions like 20+ frames per second with the R6 II’s high-speed shooting.

I've been using the Tamron 24-70mm lens, and it's truly impressive. This lens has become an essential part of my photography gear. Its versatility, sharpness, and image quality are outstanding. Whether I'm capturing landscapes, portraits, or everyday scenes, this lens delivers consistently stunning results. The build quality is robust, and it feels reliable in my hands. It's an excellent investment for both amateurs and professionals looking for a high-quality, all-purpose lens. I sold my Canon L series version of this lens just to be able to get this Tamron one and it's been wonderful so far. Tack sharp, fast... I wouldn't say lightweight but it was everything I was looking for at a much lower price than the Canon brand.

Holy mother of pearl!!! This lens is a game changer!! If your looking for a crisp lens with a large aperture for inside or low light situations, or for outdoor landscape or family photography.. look no further! This baby is considerably less than the canon equivalent and has a nifty feature called image stabilization that it’s more expensive counterpart seems to have forgot about. Built sturdy and true this lens will blow you away in almost any application.

I love this lens! I'm able to take photos in pretty tight spaces with no problem. I was used to using 70-200mm for most portraits but I needed a lot of space to be able to focus and take full-body images. I love the compression of the 70-200mm but this lens allows me to get in closer and get "in the moment" shots. I also like being able to take everyday images with my dedicated camera.

Was debating between this and the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 II USM lens, ultimately decided on going with the Tamron because of the “vibration control” feature. Image quality does not seem like it’s been sacrificed so I’m satisfied.
