The new one was also 40” - has a lot of fancy features, but only has 1 HDMI port. The 2016 version had more.

Gave it a try at home then drove out to the stadium to see how it did on the free public wifi. Test run was good. But won’t know for sure til Sept.

However, so far it has turned out to be pretty darn nice. Easy setup, pretty good picture and sound is just fine for me.

My purchase was seamless, in my budget, and the representative was very professional. TCL needs a better manual, but that is not on Best Buy.
