Customers are impressed with the 450 Sq. Ft. 10,000 BTU 3-in-1 Smart Portable Air Conditioner's cooling performance, portability, and relatively quiet operation. Many appreciate its ease of setup and the added convenience of smart features. However, some customers note that the unit is heavy and may be large for smaller spaces, and a few experienced difficulties with app connectivity. Overall, the positive feedback on cooling power and ease of use outweighs the concerns about weight and app functionality.

Works well, a little loud but not too bad. Had to return after a few months of use but had protection plan as return policy no longer effective. Highly recommend protection plan.

Doesn't fully vent vapor

Doesn't vent all the vapor/water out the window. I had to put it up on a stand and use a vent hose because the internal water reservoir (which is tiny) kept filling up too quickly. Since it was not near a drain, I had to cut a hole in the plastic piece that goes in the window for the normal air vent.
The solution is a hack job, but at least it works. My issue is, the comparable GE unit I had in this room (purchased last year) did not have this problem. We moved that unit to my daughter's room and all is fine there. There is a room size difference, but still, that unit worked fine in our room all last summer and is fine in her slightly smaller room now.

I live in Phoenix, AZ. I have a home office which is about 250 sq ft. Over time I've added more and more equipment. In my office I run 3 servers, 5 notebooks, 2 NAS units and numerous smaller computers. During the winter the extra heat from all the equipment helps keep the house warm without running any heat. However in the summer my office temperature will often rise to over 84 degrees (when outdoor temps rise above 110). And the hum of the servers becomes most annoying. Several years ago I had my AC company add an additional air return vent in my office. This helped most of the year, but in July/August (the most humid months (due to summer monsoon storms), I still can't keep the office temp below 80, where my servers run much more comfortably (me too). My new plan is to add this TCL rollabout unit (wheels on bottom) to my office. I'll vent it out the window and put a permanent drain out to the patio (which has its own drain). And I love the idea that this is a smart device that I can control remotely. I already have smart temp/humidity monitors in my office. I normally keep my house at 78 degrees. Which typically has my office at 79 degrees.
Unpacking the TCL was easy to do (You do first have to set up a TCL User Account. Installing their Smart Life-Smart Living app was easy to do. I was surprised by all the functionality that it offers for other home automation products. The app only supports 2.4GHz WiFi (which is pretty common) so make sure this band is selected when connecting the device. There are 3 ways to put the A/C into pairing mode (press the "FAN" button 6 times quickly, press the "ON/OFF" button down for ~5s, or hold the "MODE" down for ~3s); once one of the above done the display will "AP" displayed on the LED display. Then in their App select add device (BTW: I suggest adding the room name the A/C will be in first). And then your "Smart TCL Portable AC" will be displayed in your "Home" location. It can now be controlled from your smartphone. The controls consist of the Mode setting (Auto, Dry, Cool or Fan). Speed (Auto, low, med and high). Function (Sleep, Wind, degree F or degree C) and Timer settings (you can set many start/stop times). The handheld IR remote offers the ability to change most of these from the remote. The only function that is not obvious is the wind option, this has the AC init blow air from the right to left then left to right. When the unit is off the vent on the top of the unit closes.
Given it was April, I could not really test the unit with the outdoor temps over 110. But I was able to set the unit to 73 degrees and see how long it took to bring my 78 degree office down to 73 (with the outdoor humidity was only 24%). I tried it with my office door closed (easier to do) and open (harder but more like I work). Starting at 78 and turning the unit to auto and temp to 73. It took 23 minutes to get the temp down to 73 blowing straight. It took less than an hour for the temp to rise back to 78. I repeated the test with wind mode enabled and it took 19 minutes to bring the temp down with the door closed. With the door open I expected it to take longer to cool from 78 to 73 degrees. And it did, it took 33 minutes with wind mode off, and 30 minutes with wind mode on. Great, but what about 70 degrees, continuing with wind mode on it took another 30 minutes to go from 73 to 70 degrees, but it did , which leads me to beleive it will be fine in the summer keeping the office around 78. The unit is not exactly silent, you can hear its fan, but it does do a good job of circulating air. So I had it running well over 3 hours, and there was no water in the drain outlet (AZ is dry). So I can't say much about its dehumidifier capabilities.
I'm happy with my portable AC solution. With it set to auto and set to 78, it currently sits perfectly quiet all day in my office. The unit seems to only have 2 fan speeds, the higher setting is much noisier than the low. But it circulates air within the room very well, for me this is very important. I'd rather hear the low pitch of this AC than the high pitch whine of my server fans.
I tested it with Amazon Alexa and it worked fine. It also supports Google Assistant and Apple HomeKit, which I did not test. The unit weighs 63 lbs, it's on wheels and comes with a 5' cord. It's 27" tall, 14" wide and 16.5" deep. The shipping box came well packed and protected. My HVAC dealer had proposed two much more expensive proposals. I believe I've solved my office AC problem.

Cool Portable AC for up to 450 Sq. Ft room

TCL H10P36W - 450 Sq. Ft. 10,000 BTU 3-in-1 Smart Portable Air Conditioner. The unit is sleek at about 14.1in x 16.5in and is an air conditioner, fan, and dehumidifier. It has a nice LED control panel on the top along with movable louvers. It rides on 360 roller wheels like what is on expensive luggage but be aware if you are going to move it upstairs, it weighs in at 63 pounds so you will need some assistance. It is recommended for rooms up to 450 sq ft.
It is easy to set up: roll your unit to a window, attach the hose and window kit, and plug it in. The control panel on the top of the unit is easy to use and is right above the automatic louvers. The LED control panel features a clear display that is easily readable across the room, complemented by a minimal remote, making it easy to manage when you want to override the auto features. The included window mount kit is adaptable for Vertical sliding and horizontal sliding windows (no casement windows) with up to a 59-inch opening clearance and includes some foam strips to help seal out any air leakage. The kit is in three parts that slide together, making this a very versatile mount.
The corrugated expandable exhaust hose could be longer, and I think I will find some better-insulated material, as the heat radiating off the hose puts some of the heat back into the room.
I found the smart life–smart living app to be bloated and buggy. It didn’t really like to work with my tri-band WiFi 7 network hybrid mode, but what is nice about my network is it allows for an additional WiFi setup just for IoT devices that want 2.4GhZ. The app also had problems finding the WiFi network broadcast from the device in an attempt to assist in WiFi setup. It also wanted me to give it BlueTooth permission, though this TCL A/C only has WiFi. Having enough smart apps on my phone or tablet, I didn’t really want to add one more that thought it could control all smart appliances in my home. Luckily, one of my current in-use smart apps hooked up better than the recommended one from TCL.
The Noise level is rated between 51 -54 DB and is comparable, though, in my opinion, slightly less noisy than other portable AC’s I have used. It has Sleep and Eco modes and an automatic timer to help keep the noise and energy consumption down. And it puts out a respectable 1.24 cubic feet per minute and 10K BTU’s. The filter is washable and you have the ability to manually drain or use a garden hose for continuous draining. You do need to plug it into a standard grounded outlet and the power cord has a test reset feature on it.
The weather didn’t allow for a good testing scenario because it only reached 90°F here at this time of year, instead of the normal Phoenix summer temps of 110°F. But I did let the room get to 85 and the unit had no problems bring the temp in the room down to 77F in a short period of time. It takes a moment to ramp up when first starting but it seems to do a good job. The fan works well like a fan and the dehumidifier does a decent job at removing moisture at the stated 100.32 pints per day.

Fixed house air flow issue, great for bedrooms

The air movement in my 30 year old farmhouse has never been quite right, with the bedrooms on the far end of the house always feeling stuffy. For this reason I picked up the TCL portable air conditioner to cool and improve circulation on that end of the house.
In the box is the air conditioner, window adaptor (vertical or horizontal), foam insulation strip, exhaust hose, remote, and instructions. Setup really is plug and play. First connect the exhaust hose by sliding it into a slot in the back of the air conditioner, and then pull the collapsible exhaust hose to the needed length to reach the window. The window adaptor has a small roll pin that is used to lock the slider in place to adapt for window sizes up to 59". If semi-permanent placement for the exhaust, I recommend using the included foam strip to block out as much ambient air flow between the window frame and adapter as possible. Once this is done, the exhaust hose seats into the window adaptor and you can power up the machine. Setup was super easy, you can either use the controls on the air conditioner itself, use the app (wifi required), or use the remote, or any combination of the three. The air conditioner is also compatible with home assistants, with Alexa this includes voice on/off as well as setting routines through the app. A few other things to note, there are 2 drains, one is at the bottom and is used for draining excessive condensation build up. The second drain is fitted for a garden hose connection, it is about half way up the unit, to allow for draining when used as a dehumidifier. It will easily work with a sump pump setup. There are two air intake panels, both have a screen cover that can be removed and cleaned with water if buildup occurs (see photo).
Using the air conditioner is easy, display buttons from left to right include wi-fi or timer, fan speed (high, low, auto), readout of the temp setting, mode (cool, fan, dry), and sleep. The unit will also work as a dehumidifier, you will need to purchase a drain hose and connecting to a sump pump or elevating the unit and having it drain into a container. I have the unit in one of the two bedrooms, approximately 175 sq ft each, adjoined by a jack and jill bathroom. By placing the unit near the middle of the layout I find that both rooms cool evenly based on the amount of air flow the unit produces. Additionally the louvers move so the air comes out at different angles, which seems to further move the air and keep the temperature closely regulated. Lastly, as this is placed in a bedroom, I find that it's quiet enough not to be a nuisance and the teenagers can easily sleep through having it run overnight. The sleep function keeps the fan on low when it does kick on and will work to maintain the desired temperature and humidity while in sleep mode.
Bottom line, this is a great setup if you have the right conditions. The unit will need a ventilated area near a window and electrical outlet that are within ~15' of each other depending on configuration and height of window. In the first week of use, I find that the unit does better as an air conditioner than a dehumidifier, however, it does work to help the room feel more comfortable as the humidity starts to increase here in the southeastern states. That being said, I don't foresee this unit being quite as good as the dehumidifier I use in the basement, so would recommend this more for temporary moisture reduction than full time dehumidifier. The AC does a great job, and will absolutely cool the 450 sq ft it's rated for. I found that the unit was able to reduce the temperature from 74 down to 70 for both bedrooms within a few hours of turning on. Overall I like the comfort and portability this unit provides while still being quiet enough to use while sleeping.

Item came packaged very well and shipped and transported completely securely. Unboxing was fairly simple as it was a two part box and instruction stated that you should keep the ball the unit upright for at least a few hours if it was transported sideways so all the refrigerant can settle. Set up was quick and simple with instructions showing how to install it for our windows. We could even keep our window screen on and just attach the extendable hose pipe and the exhaust port. It did have a adjustable plastic window cover to seal your window that you could cut to size using a pair of scissors. The air conditioner is not too loud when turned on cooling happened immediately with a very cool effect of the vents rising up from the unit. We had this placed in our kitchen area, which is at least 600 ft.² and a quote that without any issues. The controls are intuitive, but the angle of the vents is controlled and adjusted only by the remote. Overall fantastic unit for the price. I would recommend using the app to connect and setting away and home times that allow for it to automatically turn on and be adjusted for when you are away from home so you’re not cooling the house when you’re not there. Overall, good value for price especially if you catch it on sale. Deducting one star because its heavier than the in-window units which are known to be more efficient.

No Need for a Mini Split Now!
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
We have a second home that is a smaller condo and have been contemplating getting a mini-split AC unit to help cool it during the summer months. Although the cost has come down on mini-splits it was still going to be an expensive install. Enter the TCL 3-in-1 Smart Portable Air Conditioner, this unit puts out 10,000 BTUs and is listed to support a 450 sq. ft. space. With our condo being 1,100 sq. ft. we were hopeful that a single unit would cool our bedroom and a second unit could be moved from room to room as needed.
In the Box: the TCL Portable AC ships with everything needed to set up and use, although there are a couple of shortcomings that I'll list in the "Cons" section below. The unit weighs just over 60 pounds, and we live on the second floor, so you will want to have a second set of hands to get it into the house or condo. In the box is the AC unit, a kit for installing in a window, a remote control and user's manual. Unboxing is a snap by cutting the strapping and lifting the box off the unit. As the handles are now exposed, simply lift it out of the styrofoam and set it down on the caster wheels. Now it's easy to roll it to the desired location for install.
Set Up: set up of this unit is straight forward, select a location, connect the flexible exhaust hose to the back of the unit and the window mounting kit and mount in the selected window. Plug in and that's about it, from here it can be controlled on the touch panel, with the remote or this model is "smart" and can be run remotely with the Smart Life Smart Living app. It took less than 5 minutes to download the app and connect via Wifi. We really like this feature as we can start the AC before we arrive to take the edge off on those hot summer days.
Operation: this is a 3-in-1 unit meaning it's an AC, fan and dehumidifier. There are multiple fan speeds and settings for each mode as well as an auto, sleep and eco modes. So far we have used the AC and fan features, and we are thoroughly impressed with how quickly this AC cools down the space, and the built in thermostat is very accurate at holding to the selected temperature. On high, the sound-level can be a bit on the loud side, but typically when sleeping it's on eco mode which is barely noticeable. The remote is easy to use or the app can also support all of the controls found on the unit itself or the remote control. Voice commands are also supported through Google Assistant, Alexa or Apple Home Pod.
Overall Impressions: The TCL 3-in-1 Smart Portable Air Conditioner has met or exceeded our expectations for a portable AC device. It is sleek looking in any room, supports our condo needs from a cooling perspective and is easy to operate. We are looking forward to having this AC as the hot and sticky summer months roll around. We are planning on buying a second unit to support the guest bedroom and living room areas.
Pros:
- Does a great job cooling our condo, easily supports the 250 sq. ft. bedroom space
- easy to set up and operate
- App support for controlling the AC remotely
- sleek looking with castor wheels for easy placement
- love that it's a fan and dehumidifier as well
- multiple set up options including sleep, eco mode, timer, oscillating fan, etc.
Cons:
- Unit is meant for window install only, for a slider additional door inserts are needed
- the provided drain hose is pretty much useless, we had to purchase a longer one for continual use

Great Portable AC - Works Well and Keeps It Cool
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The TCL H10P36W is a 10000 BTU portable air conditioner capable of cooling a 450 sqft space. The unit can be controlled locally on the touch panel, via remote, or through an app interface. The air conditioner has 3 operating modes – cooling, fan only, and dehumidification. Living in the St. Louis region we see reasonable temps up until June, but what often creeps up is the humidity. With my house I would rather keep the windows open as long as possible and avoid kicking my AC on. I tried this out last year but found I would get parts of the day where it was just too warm and there wasn’t enough cross breeze. Fans can only do so much, and once the heat gets in it takes a while to pull it out. With this portable AC I feel like I can overcome some of these brief warm periods, and be able to keep my overall energy costs down. It will also be useful to spot cool on those blazing hot days in the summer or when I’m cooking. The design of this cooler is extra beneficial to me since my HOA does not allow window units on the front of your house.
The H10P36W unit includes the exhaust hose (~5ft), window kit (fits windows 20.5-59"), remote, and 3ft of clear drain hose. The exhaust hose has to be assembled to slot the accordion duct hose into the unit side and window side adapters. The duct expands The unit itself is pretty heavy – around 70lbs. Rolling it around on the wheels works great, but would be difficult to move up and down levels in your house. Before powering the unit on you need to hook up the duct and vent the hot air out of the space you are looking to cool. The duct clicks into the window kit opening which is then held in place by closing the window down onto it. In my case I set the window kit up to vent outside my upstairs living room. A word of caution if using this on the ground floor – your window won’t be secure unless you have an alternate way to prevent the window being opened from the outside. I used a dowel cut to length and wedged it between the top of the window and the upper window casing. This prevents the window from being opened. It’s not necessary to hook up the drain line unless you plan to run it in “Dry Mode” for dehumidification. The rate in which the unit fills up its internal drain pan depends on how humid the air is. Longer drain hose is readily available from a hardware store – I would recommend PVC reinforced vinyl tubing since it won’t kink due to reinforcement braiding. If you need a longer exhaust hose you should be able to source 6” flexible hose from your local hardware store.
With the unit powered on you can set your temp and fan speed with the remote or touch panel. If you decide you want to control it via app you need to download the Smart Life app and follow the setup process. It’s a fairly easy process, but it does have pitfalls. I like rolling my smart device controls into my Google Home app, so that’s how I set it up. In the Smart Life app setup it asks if you want to link it to either Google Home or Alexa. I chose the Google route and the app jumped over to the Google Home device setup. Once I finished in the Google Home app I figured it would jump back to the Smart Life app. However, it did not do this and it surprised me to find that the Smart Life app didn’t show the AC unit in its device list. The AC was recognized and controllable in the Google Home app, but its widget only had a fan speed control, and on/off options. There was no temp setting in the widget, but I could use voice commands to control the temp. It was odd to say the least. I plan to re-run the setup and skip the Google integration until the device is fully setup in the Smart Life app – I’d like to see if the Smart Life app has more controls. For now I am OK with using the controls on the remote.
With the unit on you can adjust the temperature setpoint, fan speed, and louvre angle. With the fan speed cranked up it makes a decent amount of noise, but certainly below that of a box fan. Unfortunately we have had really cool weather recently – 2 days in the 70’s and the rest 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s. On the days in the 70’s I was able to keep the upstairs at 75° with 5 kids playing on their devices and the windows shut. This was a much larger space – around 900sqft – but the AC unit kept the main area (400sqft) plenty cool. I adjusted the fan louvre angle down to project the cold air further away to cool the larger space. If I wanted to focus the cooling in the immediate area I directed the louvre upwards so the cold air would reflect off the ceiling, and the cooling effect was more localized. I can see this being used in the summer when the main AC struggles to keep that upstairs area cool when everyone is home, or if we are cooking. It doesn’t make much sense to run the full AC unit just to cool a bunch of areas we aren’t using – i.e. bedrooms, bathrooms, and hallways.
One of the problems we see in our house is how much the humidity sticks around when we have the windows open. The basement is already more humid throughout the year because of the sump pit along with the fact that it’s a basement. We have had a lot of rain recently so the moisture is the air is more noticeable. I put the unit in the basement and used a short garden hose to route the condensate line to the sump pit. With the unit in Dryer mode I was able to noticeably drop the moisture in the air to after a few hours of running. You could hear the steady trickle of water into the pit after just a little bit, but that tapered off over time. Honestly this feature alone gives this portable AC a use throughout the year.
I am going to look into getting a longer exhaust hose. I plan to use this in my garage where I can vent it into the ceiling plenum. Right now the current hose is nowhere near long enough to reach, and I don’t feel like cutting a vent hole in my siding just for this purpose. I use my garage for my home gym and to work on home repair/DIY tasks. Its miserable in the summer, and this AC unit would really be able to take the edge off the summer heat.
Overall, this is a really nice cooler. The dryer mode works great at pulling moisture out of the air, and the cooling mode easily cooled off our living room. The setup was straightforward and the controls are easy to understand. Honestly the only thing you need to be aware of is the weight of the unit will make moving it up/down levels cumbersome. Its an awkward lift and at 70ish pounds it’s not light. Just make sure to empty the condensate pan before carrying it around.

I would have never thought that installing an air conditioner could be this easy to setup. Pulling it out of the box, this was easy to read the instructions, connect the exhaust hose to window adapter, connect to the phone app and run it cold. That's all you need to do honestly. It includes the window exhaust adapter which is a good touch. There is no need to go to a big box store to figure out what to buy. I'm impressed that it comes with a handy remote and the ability to connect to my Google Home smart assistant.
One thing I can't get over is that the electrical outlet cord isn't that long. For being a portable unit, I was hoping that I could connect it and maneuver it down a bit from the wall. Another important all out is that even with the lowest fan speed, the sound of the fan motor blowing seems pretty loud. It will take some getting used to if it's in my office and I'm trying to focus but with time I can zone it out.
It's still a tad cold here for me to really test out longevity when the summer heat kicks in. I'm thinking of using this in a 2 car garage now since being in my room might be too loud for my sanity.

TCL - 450 Sq. Ft. 10,000 BTU 3-in-1 Smart Portable Air Conditioner H10P36W
Summary: Convenient, performant, "smart," portable AC!
Use:
Cooling in our MIL ADU can be quite spotty. It's about 600sqft. We've tried a few window units, but they are insightly and ultimately don't get the coverage we would like - even for such a small space (divided by a few walls). We've been wanting to replace the recent unit that seems to struggle with a portable unit like this TCL for some time. The opportunity arose and we are glad we did.
This high-powered unit was a snap to install with very few parts to worry about. If not obvious, the instructions quickly made short work of doubts (mainly the window assembly). I literally had my 60 year old FIL assemble it and he was done in a short while. He is crafty, so I shouldn't have been surprised. But given how he reacts whenever I mention things like "It's Alexa enabled" I expected some resistance.
We use Alexa devices to manage our home and ADU, but our MIL/FIL aren't really fond of her. The app installation made connecting the unit to our Wi-Fi easy and itself resembles controls for popular smart thermostats like the Ecobee or Nest. The control itself works just as expected and we expect to be the primary way to manage the unit.
The unit has a very clean look on its own and while connected to the exterior the paneling/tubing looks just fine. From the exterior the window slider offers a much sleeker look than a huge box hanging outside of the window obstructing light. The biggest problem we had with the more traditional AC units is that they all want to hang right off the window. Only the bedroom windows can allow that due to their orientation. The rooms where guests spend most time in the ADU is the living room and adjoined kitchenette. They are opened vertically. This portable unit allowed us to put cooling in the space we most needed it - in the front rooms.
The power of the unit is perfect. Though rated for a smaller space, we find that it cools the desired rooms fast enough especially if we close the doors to the bedrooms. We can adjust the positioning of air flow by adjusting the vents or just pivoting the unit itself. The 10,000 BTU is certainly adequate. We experience the first of the initial warm days (89) just a few days ago and we were glad to have this unit available. We hope it will be able to keep up with the more intense summer heat.
Pros:
* Size. The size is great. They can seem bulky, but they can be easily maneuvered out of the way when not in use. They don't really take up that much space, even in smaller spaces like an ADU.
* Cooling power. This unit packs a whallop! It cooled the entire ~650 sqft space rather quickly - with the coldest rooms being the most used during the day, and the rear rooms just a peak (keeping it just cool enough for the MIL/FIL). We are thinking we won't need the window units in the bedrooms. But, keep in mind, it is rated for 450sqft. So we will keep bedroom doors closed on taxing days.
* Controls. The controls are straightforward and the controller and mobile app make using the unit a breeze. Easy to understand and operate even for "old foogies" like my ILs (this is how myu ILs refer to themselves).
* Smart. The Alexa and Google controls will definitely be a perk for our younger guests as they are natural tools for them. We print out sheets of commands for controlling the home/ADU for those un-initiated. LOL. It seems to help. The units work basically like other smart thermostats do.
* Assembly. The unit was quick to assemble and was done so by my FIL. Aside from the smart (Alexa/App) part of the setup, I'm not even sure he needed the instructions for assembly.
Cons:
* I'm hard pressed to find something I'd consider a con. The unit is nice looking (for an AC unit), portable, smart enabled, and really chills a room quickly - all stuff it said it does. I did check to see if they had their instructions online, though, and I see that they appeared to have already introduced the new model. So finding the precise documentation to this product model wasn't straight forward from TCL's website (featured broken links). The new model documentation looks similar, though, so that may be why. It was nothing a quick search couldn't handle, though. I always save PDF versions of manuals for future reference, if needed.
We definitely recommended this unit if you have a small space you need to condition during the warm and hot summer months! If you live in a humid environment, you can also use this unit to dehumidify, though this isn't something we could test at the time.

Small in stature, BIG in BTU!

THIS…Is the TCL 10,000btu (sacc) Mobile AC unit (H10P36W) which is not only shockingly smaller than I would have expected for such a high BTU, but also packs a serious cold punch while also not being an eye sore. This 10,000btu TCL is replacing my significantly larger, louder and higher btu Midea for my master bedroom.First, let me give you some context! My master bedroom is on my second level of my house and works as the great collecting point for excess heat… then on top of that, every morning the sun cooks my room as it faces the rising sun. So my bedroom has become an unsung battleground for cooling products and has turned me into a 4x all pro when it comes to cooling my room and the ability to keep it cool during the night and into the morning.
I am pleasantly shocked to report that not only does the TCL take up almost 50% less room than my old mobile ac (fits in a roughly 14inx16in rectangle), but it also cools my room down faster, quieter and more efficiently. I would turn my old AC unit down to the lowest temp it would go (60F) every night and was a bit put off at first when the TCL would only go down to 64F… but oh my god was that too cold. My wife and I had to pull cards to see who would have to get out from under the blanket to turn off the AC. The TCL was SO cold the first morning after we got it due to thinking it was less due to is size, but never judge a cooler by its size! Now we comfortably set it to 66 and know that not all AC units are made equal.
The TCL AC unit does come with everything you need to install it. The only thing you might need to consider buying additional is a longer vent tube as they have a rather restricted movement profile and are universally a little large, so we used a longer from our old unit so we can fit everything better in our room. Outside of that, the remote that comes with the TCL is exactly what it needs to be and nothing more which is perfect, and the TCL has its own app for the mobile AC unit which I thought was interesting. I couldn't get the app to connect in my several attempts to work and the instructions for it through the app were… less than ideal… so I will subtract a star for that. For me personally, the remote works just fine so it isn’t a deal breaker on my end.
All in all, while this is a steep price to pay, this absolutely solved the problem we were having and did it better than our last cooler in less space. While I am annoyed by the app not working, the ease of cleaning the filters, dehumidifier and how well the remote worked outshined its technical difficulties. That being said, I still urge you to try it if you are on the fence as you never have to worry about buying a cooler that you don’t like or that doesn’t mesh with your flow! So there is no harm in testing if this TCL has the power you need or the features you want. Until next time!

I was looking for a portable AC that could handle a large room, and this unit delivered. I was worried it would be just a glorified fan, but it's not; it delivers and is as powerful as I expect. It has no trouble keeping our large room cool and comfortable on hot, muggy days. The setup was straightforward, and it has been running with no issues thus far. I would recommend purchasing.

Both of our HVACs decided to go out on us in this heat wave. It brought the temp down in 2 bedrooms by 10 degrees in just 1 hour by pumping the air with fans to the other room. It was an easy set up and would recommend this to everyone. Only downfall is the app. I couldn’t get it connected to my phone. But it’s not that necessary.

Had to buy something until our AC was fixed. This was a lifesaver in 90 degree heat. Out house temperature was 86 and after we ran this unit for about an hour, the temperature dropped to 78. It cooled our living room and we were able to put it in our sliding door to vent out because we didn’t have a window to use! It’s a powerful unit.

Is big and heavy but does the job of cooling down small spaces quickly. If you are looking for a floor unit, this one does the job and I'd recommend purchasing. Also, sound isn't too noisy which is a plus.

We were very happy with this TCL. 450 SQ FT PORTABLE AIRCONDITIONER. our central air unit was malfunctioning during a heatwave. This unit was easy to set up in our front room next to a window and an electrical outlet. It immediately started cooling the room. The comments about having a bucket for drainage are correct. That was the only drawback. The bucket filled and had to be emptied quicker than I expected. When our central air was repaired and we used this unit only for backup on hot days, the draining water was minimal . It was on sale right when we needed it, so it was a good purchase.

It cools quickly as advertised BUT, beware: at the highest settings, it’s LOUD. Especially when the compressor kicks in/out. A bit startling at first. If you can put it on a small table or stand (near a window for venting purposes) do so, you’ll be able to drain condensation by gravity. You may have to buy a longer drain tube too. I did so draining can be led thru the window. Be advised: it’s deceptively heavy even with casters.
