PROS - Ergonomic design and pivoting head - Great app with guided exercises - USB-C charging w/swappable battery CONS - Soft case does a poor job protecting the Theragun SUMMARY Whether you’re an everyday gym goer, a seasonal skier or just trying to sleep better, the Theragun Pro helps relax your muscles with the goal of preventing injury. A great design, integrated app, and guided routines help get the most out of the unit targeting different muscle groups and recovering from different activities. DESIGN+ACCESSORIES The Therabody Theragun Pro 5th gen is the latest update to their top-of-the-line percussive massage gun. Overall, the design remains relatively unchanged with some updated branding and the addition of USB-C charging. The majority of the unit is covered in a textured soft-touch plastic which makes it easy to grip and use. The Theragun Pro has a unique triangle shape that allows you to hold and use it in a variety of ways which is helpful for people like me that aren’t super flexible and can struggle to reach some parts of their body. In addition to the shape there is a button which allows the user to pivot the head of the unit to 4 different positions across 90 degrees of movement which provides additional flexibility. The two large buttons allow you to unlock and pivot the head while the other ejects the battery. The Theragun Pro features an OLED screen and directional button pad to power on and navigate through four of the pre-programmed exercises or just start using the gun right away with the ability to monitor pressure and set the speed of the gun. Overall, I found the size and weight to be manageable for the time that I was using it and the USB-C charging with removable battery adds a new degree of flexibility that the previous model didn’t have. The battery life is about 150 minutes which is plenty for using it casually through the week without having to constantly charge it or swap batteries. USAGE+APP The Theragun Pro is easy to setup with Therabody’s app. I was able to quickly pair the unit over Bluetooth. With the app you are able to view a number of available guided routines for a number of different activities and recoveries in addition to the standard exercises. After starting a routine, the app guides the attachments you should be using and the muscles/areas that you should be targeting along with the amount of pressure that you should be applying. There are settings to change time between steps for changing attachments and change location/grip as well as the ability to add or disable audio and vibration cues to prompt you to make the change. Finally, you can include stretching exercises to routines that have them which I found to be a nice addition. Also, within the app you can modify the standard guided exercises that are loaded onto the unit to personalize your device with the ones that you use most often. I utilized the Theragun Pro after exercising to relax my muscles and before bed when I’ve been doing strenuous yard work. While I can say definitively say that it’s prevented injuries, I do feel that using it relaxes me and seems to make my muscles less tense. I use it multiple times a week and plan on taking it with me on my ski trip to massage my muscles after each day which I think is the perfect use-case. When using the Theragun Pro it's quiet compared to other brands I've used, though people in the same room will definitely hear it. Overall I’m very happy with he performance and flexibility of all the tips to target different muscles and areas of the body effectively. I mainly use the small and large rounded tip as well as the large SuperSoft attachment with the soft foam end to target large areas.

TheTheragun Pro should be what the doctor ordered

The Theragun Pro should be, to borrow a popular phrase, “what the doctor ordered”…and in a way it is… considering the founder of Therabody, the makers of the Theragun is actually a doctor. I really like this massage gun for so many reasons, with one being the instant relief I get from soreness after and before workouts. Whenever I’m experiencing muscle soreness, pain, and or even muscle cramps, it doesn’t take long for the Theragun Pro to relieve me of that nagging aliment so that I can get on with my day. I’ve been using my new Theragun Pro for about a week now and I can’t stop gushing about how well it performs each and every time. But it’s not just for working out. It’s a device that the entire family could use and benefit from as well. Imagine all the money you could save on personal professional massages, pain medicine and doctor appointments. I saw pictures and videos of the Theragun Pro for about a week or so before I actually received mines. But what I saw didn’t so it they did justice. Seeing and using the Theragun Pro personally is the best experience to gage how well it performs, how it feels in your hand and how easy it is to use. The benefits of using the Theragun Pro goes well above and beyond just stretching before and after workouts. As a matter of fact, I won’t workout unless I’m able to use it. It’s a device that I know will prepare me for my workouts and relax me after my workouts. My Theragun Pro arrived in very nice premium packaging. Everything was in good condition and nothing was damaged during shipping. I appreciate that Therabody used recycled materials for the packaging but still ensured the presentation was five star. Everything was so tightly secured that I had a difficult time getting the sleeve off. And because I didn’t want to rip it off (very nice packaging with illustrations all over the cover) the sleeve I played around with it before I found a way to push it through without damaging the sleeve. The sleeve had some really great illustration and the information on the outside of the packaging was very informative. I was impressed with the level of detail displayed. I was able to read a lot about the company, its’ founder and the product before I even opened the box that was holding the device. Once I took off the sleeve and opened the box, I noticed some really nice storage/carrying bags that are to be used with the device and the associated attachments. Although, I wish they all fit into one carrying and storage bag to make it simpler to carry and keep up with, especially once you’ve identified the attachments you plan to use most often; you won’t have to carry both bags. Note, I later found that the smaller attachment bag fits nicely instead the larger carrying case so in fact, I got what I wanted, but with more options. I like that they provided a single use QuietForce sample solution. It’s basically oil. You only have to use it once every four months, if you use your device daily (which I plan to do). The thoughtfulness of Therabody means that I have every thing I need right now and won’t have to think about getting anything else for several months. I can just use my Theragun as presented for months without needing to purchase anything else. The device comes with a detailed, yet simple “Get Started” pamphlet that’s packed with a lot of useful information. I truly appreciate it when manufacturers include quick start guides as it makes life much easier and you’re less likely to make a mistake when handling your new product. Registering my device and setting up the warranty was simple and easy. Getting the app was a breeze. You can simply scan a QR Code or search your app store for the app. I registered the device and then had to do the same thing to use the app. It would have been nice to have my account information transferred to the app; unless I did things backwards in which case it would be human error on my part. The Therabody App has some really nice videos. It’s easy to find everything you want to get you started. They made the complex simple. I appreciate a lot about the app and how user friendly it is. I really like the detail provided for each activity. While exploring the app, I’m learning why it’s important to use the Theragun Pro and what area of the body needs what routine and the benefits of said routine. Again, there is lots of educational information. For example, things that explain why you should use the routine, what each attachment is designed to do and how it can help you. I like being able to set routine preferences that can be set to work across all routines. So very helpful! If you have health data stored on your smartphone, you can sync that with your Therabody app for an even more useful integration. The Theragun Pro, right out of the box, to the carrying bags and the device and attachments, everything appears to be made of good premium quality. I opened the bag and discovered a well made device and was pleasantly surprised Therabody allows for fast charging and also included the cable, and more importantly the fast charging adapter. That’s rare nowadays. The Theragun came pre charged, so was able to use it right out of the box. The Theragun is kinda heavy. But later I learned that there are illustrations on how to properly hold the device for each activity and I noticed that when I held it according to the OLED display instructions, I experienced less fatigue in my hands. Also, because it works so fast, you won’t have to hold it as long so the weight isn’t as consequential. But it feels great in the hand. The material is nice and soft but sturdy. Feels good to the touch. I also like it has an auto shutoff feature, which helps preserve battery power. When I first started out, I wished there was a little more instruction on how to position yourself when using a routine. The illustrations are good but sometimes I can’t tell if I should use it on the outside of my leg or around the leg. Should I stand up for my calf or can I do it laying down. I like the OLED display on the Theragun Pro . The tech that has been packed into this device is really useful and nice. I wish I could see the battery percentage along with the power level so that I can determine when to recharge it. It displays the power percentage numbers when you plug it up to charge, but only the color bar when it’s not charging. I’d like to know before I plug it in. You can quickly check the battery charging levels by plugging it in . But I’d still like to see the battery life when it’s not attached to a power source. The manufacturer indicates that you can charge it wirelessly, but I don’t own the special device that’s needed to check that feature out. Another good added feature is that you can use the battery to charge other devices so if you need a little juice to top off your phone or buds on the go, you’re covered. Therabody thought this one through throughly and I cannot express how appreciative I am that they did it. It’s like they took a wish list from users and exceeded expectation when they designed the Theragun Pro. I like that the Therabody app had preselected attachments already selected for my device making getting started easier, although it did have one attachment selected that I didn’t have and one that wasn’t selected. But it was a simple click here and there to make the adjustment and save the settings. I’ve tried all of the attachments and they all are used for a specific routine. I’ve found my favorite routines and attachments, based on what I use it for most. But it’s easy to switch out attachments when needed by simply holding the device and pulling down on the attachments and then pushing in place the new one. Adjusting the angle is easy as well. You simply push in a button and move the level to the desired position. I like the feature which allows you to sync frequently used routines to the device which allows for built in guided routines to be displayed on the OLED screen. Because it’s an OLED screen, you’re able to clearly see the illustrations and follow along. You’re able to sync up to four routines, but I wish I could sync more, if not all of them to the device. But I assume four will get the job done since they are to be used when you’re on the go. And you can replace or change any of them, via the app, based on your needs for that day. The Theragun Pro is pretty quiet. They claim it’s 20% quieter than the previous model. I can’t attest to that, but I can tell you that I am able to I use it near someone and not disturb their peace. I can also watch TV while using it. When you’re using a routine, the force you’re using is displayed in the app, which provides a visual aid of the pressure that achieves the ultimate results. You can then push a little harder or ease up some to achieve the highest results. I like the option, when using the app, to listen to pleasant meditation sounds while using the device. I like that the routines allows you to be in charge and in control of the amount of time you need to swift positions and work on a different areas of the body. There’s a time delay, that you set (I have mines set to 5 seconds) and a section where the device pauses so you can change to the attachment needed for that routine, but you’ll have to hit start to resume. There are routines for aliments like sciatica (in which I do suffer from) and knots. There is just so much to choice from and something for everyone. My neck was sore because I slept in a bad position the night before and I simply searched for routine for the neck and began pressed start. The Theragun Pro’s torque can be reduced to slower speeds and pressure so that anyone can use it. I actually used it on my 96 year old mother with a super-soft attachment and slower speeds and I increased it to higher speeds, and up’d it to use the max for my muscles. It has a lot of power and force (although I could use more power). In closing, the Theragun Pro is a device that can be us

Given I have had an inexpensive massage device for some time that provides some relief, but, frankly, was a classic case of you get what you pay for, I was really looking forward to seeing how this compared. In short, there really was no comparison. From the moment I picked it up, I got the sense that the hype around the brand was warranted. It feels extremely well-built. Solid. A good weight. Same for the attachments (and how they attach). Even the screen was crisp and clear. The thing just shows a nice level of quality and refinement. The performance, however, was even on another level for me. Everything, top to bottom, kind of stunned me. I thought I had an idea of what to expect, but it was pretty clear I didn’t. It is extremely powerful, gets DEEP into your muscles, and absolutely is hitting some wild frequency numbers. It more or less makes me feel like jelly. It is hard to really convey what or how good it feels, but it just makes you feel good. Relaxed. Calm. It does all of this while being, simply, ridiculously quiet. I can only compare to my prior (non Theragun) unit, but it was as if they were not even the same type of machine. The adjustable head is nice, you can more easily target some areas, and I have really come to like the screen. As I mentioned, it is very easy to read, and it helps you get a little familiar with everything, especially at the beginning. There are some guided workouts, and it just displays information well. In a lot of ways, I appreciate the App in much the same manner. It is designed well, easy to navigate, and helps you get started with everything. I definitely think it is worth the time to dig into it a bit. As for the attachments, I am still working my way through how to best use them, which are best for me, etc… but I generally have liked them all. I was a little familiar given my prior experience, and several of them seem “standard” in these devices, but Therabody hyped two new to them attachments, Micro-Point and Thumb, I think, and for me these were a bit of mixed bag. I very much like the Thumb, as it really “digs-in” and gets some of my trouble areas. The Micro-Point, honestly, I was really excited going in, but it just hasn’t done it for me. At least not yet. We shall see. Regardless, taken as a whole, it is a nice set of attachments that work well. Battery. Given it is a device in 2022, we need to talk battery. Here, again, no issues. It really does well, not only in performance, but in implementation. For starters, I have more or less been getting the rated time. Beyond that, they made the great choice to use USB-C (and give you a cable and adapter). No random cable. I have other cables if need be. Charges fast. Perfect. The sooner everything is one cable, the better. Lastly, it has a removable batter. Now, I REALLY don’t think this will be issue, as you should get nearly 2 hours per charge, but it is great to have the option, the flexibility. As I write this, and it is on sale, the extra battery runs 38. That seems reasonable if for some reason you felt the need. Several people using it. Professional environment. Whatever. Given how positively I view this, if I had one nitpick, and perhaps this a personal thing, I just do not love the case/bag/pouch situation. I guess it is easier to toss in a bag, on the go, maybe, but I would just much prefer a more dedicated case that had the unit and all the attachments together. Maybe I am in the minority here, but for a premium device it does not seem like a premium solution in this case. The quality if fine, to be clear, perhaps not the implementation. Just something to note. Ultimately, I really like just about everything about this. Clearly, it is a premium-type device, but I think for the relief and quality of life improvements it gives me, the value is absolutely there, and it is worth it. I guess this is marketed as “Pro,” and I am not sure I know what that means in today’s world, but I think it could serve both the Pro and Novice, like me.

Whether it be after a long workout, a run, or even a hard days work, this gun has you covered whether you want a light massage or deep tissue to really workout any tension or cramps. In the box it comes with a really nice padded carrying case that fits and protects everything included. And believe me for the price of this you want to keep it protected! It has a side pouch and even has a smaller bag that has pockets for each of the included attachment heads. Also included is a USB Type C charging cord and power block and one lithium ion battery. Last but not least are the 6 attachment heads which vary in shape size and texture to fit any need you may have. I never needed to use it long enough to kill the battery. It said to have 150 minutes of life but if someone needed another they are available on the Therabody website. The head is easily adjustable by simply pressing a button. One of my favorite features is the LED screen (right on the handle) with guided workouts that give you a visual display of what part of the body you're working on and where exactly to place the tip to get the best outcome. You can do even more by conveniently using the app and choosing what routines suit you best connecting by bluetooth, no wires necessary! It's definitely on the higher price point for massage guns that I've seen, but in my opinion they couldn't done a better job or put anymore into this to make it better. I'd definitely recommend it to others

This review is for the Theragun PRO 5th Generation. I have had many percussion massagers over the years, and this is by far the best I have owned. The new PRO is insanely powerful, has a removeable/replaceable battery, and offers USB-C charging. The USB-C port alone makes it super convenient, as I do not have to keep track of a proprietary charger for it. I can use my USB-C laptop or phone chargers without any issues. The adjustable angle head is a nice feature, though I mostly use it in its standard position. I also really like the LCD screen on the unit to know for sure what setting/mode you're in, or what rpm the massager is running at. And included pressure sensor is great to have for consistent massages. The carrying case and included tips are top notch, and should give you everything you need for pain in your back, neck, legs, arms, etc. Another one of my favorite features is how quite this unit is. The updated motor is a huge improvement in power and volume over any other percussion massager I have used. Even at the highest speed setting, it's more of a hum than the sound of an appliance running. It's not silent, but it's much quieter than expected. Overall I highly recommend it.
