Absolutely love my new TV. The Superbowl will be streamed in 4K and will be glorious. TV is well worth the money. No extra cords needed since fire TV is built in. Can watch OTA uncompressed video from outdoor HDTV amplified antenna. No complaints so far. Trust me I don't normally write reviews.

I Have owned this now for about 18 days. I have no regrets about buying it. I own a lg 4k tv i bought in 2017. The CPU (processor) in this tv is about 4 times faster then the older lg. The FireTV Operating system is great and not limited like the lg smart tv. Any app you cant find in the firetv store you can download and sideload it.. Watch youtube videos (how to sideload apps on a fire tv.) stick and tv are the same process. I play pc video games on this and the 4k hdr looks amazing. The text when hook up as a PC monitor looks pretty good. I have tested the power consumption on this Toshiba firetv with a kill o watt and the results are: With back light setting at 100% uses 158 watts With back light setting at 50% uses 88 watts With back light setting at 0% uses 40 watts Power off uses 12 watts I use the 50% setting as it is light enough and uses 70 watts less from 100% I think the power usage is pretty good for a tv this size 65' When you power the tv off it is really in standby mode for your tv powers up faster. If you want to shut it completely down plug it into a power strip and cut the power to the cord. To get to the backlight setting hold the home button (picture of house) down and the menu will appear bottom right and go to picture settings.

Granted I own a 2018 P-series Vizio and initially comparing these two I thought would be more apples and oranges. However, after watching both TV's at length I can't tell the difference. Honestly, the fire tv might be better because the actual TV speakers are better than the vizio's. If I learned anything I would say make sure if you are in the market for a fantastic tv and more than likely below the $350 mark you're not gonna find a better tv. Just because a TV is $1000 doesn't mean its better than one for $350.

I wanted to wait 6 months before writing a review. To sumarize, the purchase was disappointing. The TV in itself is fine. Good picture quality, but nothing out of the ordinary. In accordance with the price. The problem has been the Fire TV portion. Until last month when we paused on Netflix, HBO and other streaming services, the volume would shot up upon restart. It was not only annoying, but it could have possibly damaged my external speakers. Now all of a sudden I started getting a "critically low in storage" error, which interrupts whatever we are doing and won't go away. You have to go to Remove App and return. Which makes it impossible to watch anything on TV. And that's because we only have a handful of apps installed. We are not heavy users at all. Plus, even though the warning says we need to have 500MB free, when I go to my storage info it shows 1.26GB free. Go figure. I searched online and all I could find was to reset to factory defaults. So yay for having to reconfigure everything.

Toshiba 65" Fire TV works seamlessly with my Amazon Echo Plus. Control volume, change channel, search for any movie by title, actor, or genre or change input with included Fire remote and voice. Got the 55" model last Christmas, more than satisfied. Paired both with a digital antenna and cut the cable- I get 128 local digital/analog channels- free. Plus I can surf the net via tv. My Prime membership gets me Prime video/music, Netflix, Showtime, plus I get Pluto, IMDb, Shutter, CNN/CBSn, about a dozen sports channels, etc (too many "apps" to list). More than worth the less than $600 price! Bluetooth wireless too for added connectivity

I refused to buy expensive TV’s after what happened to my old Samsung TV. If this goes out I won’t feel upset! After spending all that money on my previous TV it stop working after just 4 years. So, like all I needed a TV to stream and play my games and of cause Movie night is awesome. Like I said it works for me went and purchased another one for my bedroom.

The Apple TV app is compatible with Fire TV Gen 3 which means it's not compatible on this TV. According to Bestbuy support, this TV runs Fire TV Generation 2 from 2016. (Generation 3 was released in 2017). The TV itself has a great picture and is easy to use so buy it if you aren't worried about having current software.

Great Budget TV! (Apple TV Works)

Great tv for the price, picture, colors and features will not disappoint. I use a soundbar but the speakers get plenty loud if needed. When watching anything in 4K you would think it was a high end tv. The low refresh rate is the only thing that might occasionally impact the quality but it’s not much. Apple TV worked for me after initial setup and software updates. Not sure why there is a review on here saying otherwise, both owner and chat support must have been mistaken. This TV is not 4 years old it is a 2019 model. Any compatibility issues may have been due to attempting to use the app before Apple released needed updates. There is info online that says the older fire stick/tv isn’t compatible but that is not the case for this model.

For the price ($379) this was a steal. Great picture, very fast and smooth when it comes to selecting apps, Alexa works very well. This is a much better TV than the first one which was made by Element, I have a 55 inch Amazon Element 4K and this one by Toshiba is 100 percent better, picture Quality is amazing. Just be aware that this isn't an HDR TV, it's a Dolby TV which isn't supported by Sony PlayStation and other devices. XBOX One X supports it but only certain games. If I would have known this I don't think I would have purchased it, but other than that, it's amazing and well worth the price for a 65 inch TV. One last thing, the remotes for the Amazon Insignia TVS work completely for this TV as well, in case you lose the Toshiba, the place I work for had an extra remote and they gave it to me because I thought it would work with the Element TV, but it didn't, but it works for the Toshiba without issue.

I bought this at Best Buy on Thanksgiving eve based on the performance of the 55” Toshiba Fire TV Edition they had on the sales floor. I’ve been using a Firestick 4K with a Recast DVR and a rooftop antenna for over a year and I like the Amazon Firestick platform. I did some Googling after purchase and learned a few things: Toshiba has not manufactured TVs in years. This television was made by a Taiwanese concern in association with Best Buy and Amazon’s Fire TV developers and branded Toshiba to signal that it is higher spec than Best Buy’s value in house brand, Insignia. The LCD display is very bright with excellent blacks and no leakage. The direct back light gives a very bright picture which needs to be turned down for dark room viewing at night. Straight on, the picture is excellent. The off angle viewing, however, is not. Colors start to shift as soon as you move to either side. The audio system out of the box is set to DTS encode with dialogue enhance turned on and sounds awful. After digging in to the settings and turning those off, it sounds okay. One thing to note is that “Audio Muxing,” enabled by default, strongly affects the sound quality and cannot be turned off from the home button quick menu. The design of the audio amp is a bit off — the volume slider is badly coded, quickly driving the included speakers into distortion to deliver an impression of “loud” performance. The set’s 4K resolution at 65” revealed defects in my Fire TV Recast that I had not noticed on the 55” HD LG television that I was using before. I learned that the Fire TV Recast downsamples everything — OTA and recordings — to 720p. Transferring the stream over WiFi further downsamples content, the result of which, upscaled and displayed at 2160p, is a fuzzy, blotchy mess. Attaching the Toshiba TV to the Fire TV Recast through my gigabit ethernet switch improved the picture. 1080p video off steaming services is excellent and I look forward to seeing some 4K HDR content when I can. The included remote is similar to the standard Fire TV but not the same. The location of the return, home and menu button are changed. There are five non-standard buttons, four for direct connection to streaming services and one that has a pictogram of a television with rabbit ears whose purpose I do not understand. There are menu options to pair a Fire TV remote but I was unable to pair the remote that I was using with my 4K Firestick. I plan to purchase another regular Firestick remote from Amazon. The system case is attractive, sturdy and sports a slim bezel. Overall, good for the price.

This was a near-Christmas special and for a 65 inch TV the price was excellent. I will admit that I don't use any of the internet features and I was wondering how easy it would be to use. My fear was confirmed when I saw the remote. Most TV remotes have enough buttons to fly them to Jupiter. This has about six. Not even numeric buttons to enter channel numbers. It's obviously intended for people who trust their equipment to be connected to the internet and for the voice remote to listen to everything. Well, I don't. Fortunately the cable box has a normal remote control and it does all the channel selection, so that wasn't much of an issue in the event. All it really does is act as a big HDMI monitor for the cable box. And this is does quite well for the money. The picture is clean, crisp and sharp.

This is our largest TV to date. This TV, thank goodness, did not break our bank but can provide good viewing and features. When we changed to new fios, full HD, service, the 6mo old Hisense 55" exhibited flickering due to un-known reason. Verizon service could not solve. So in the new Toshiba 65", the flickering is history. The video is smooth and beautiful. Wifi connection is stable. Be aware with Fios when they tried to update STB software, you must unplug HDMI cable to TV, restart STB, then plug it back-in; otherwise the TV won't show signal.
