I installed 2 of the Tapo solar panels for a few months. They work really well in warmer weather, but be aware that they generally do not work when the temperature falls below 35-ish F. The box says working temperature is down to -4F, but the fine print (look for the tiny dagger symbol †) says battery charging is only down to 32F (0 C). There could be long periods of time when the panel won't charge the battery if you are in a cold weather area.

Posted .Hi NewEnglander. This is correct and in the Datasheet this spec is more prominent. I amy working with our document team to see if we can improve this spec so that it is more prevalent and better aligned with the charging specs.

Easy installation with several options. Worth it if you are using camera where you have sun exposure (south preferred)

I have three TC-85's and one of them uses more current than the other two because of the settings I wanted. My other two cameras have been working (three months now) without needing charging. The one only operates about a month, because of the activity and settings, Since installing the solar charger, the camera has always been charged. It occasionally dips down to 97% when we have some cloudy days but quickly gets back to 100%. This charger is great! I am going to purchase another one soon!!!

Impressive. I am very pleased with this product. My only critical note is that they should consider keeping the battery of the camera under a full charge to prolong the internal battery. I see this product working well and that i will never have to charge the cameras again. Maybe in winter, but it does exactly what i needed it to do: avoid having to recharge the wireless cams.

This solar panel can’t charge same brand cameras. I am returning four Tapo-link wireless security cameras TC85 and solar panel. This product is a joke.
