Ok so i gotta say, this Turtle Beach Atlas 200 headset legit surprised me. Wasn’t expecting much tbh but wow, it’s actually really really good. like, for the price it punches way above its weight.
first thing i noticed was the comfort omg it’s nice. super light, soft ear cushions, and it doesn’t crush my glasses or give me that weird head squeeze. i’ve done full gaming marathons (like 8+ hrs) and my ears didn’t get hot or sore at all. feels like it just disappears after a while which is perfect for long sessions.
the sound quality tho?? fire. i play a lot of COD, Apex, and some story games, and the audio is clear as heck. i can literally hear footsteps behind me, tiny reload sounds, even wind blowing in the background lol. it’s got that crisp detail but still a good amount of bass so explosions sound nice and deep without being muddy. easily one of the best sounding headsets i’ve used under $100.
mic’s super clear too. my friends say i sound clean with no static or weird background noise. the flip-to-mute mic is genius just push it up when you don’t wanna talk and boom, muted. no buttons to mess with.
i also love that it’s wired. yeah, i know some people like wireless, but i’m tired of charging stuff all the time. this thing just plugs in and works, zero lag, no dropouts, no “battery low” warnings in the middle of a match. i’ve used it on my PC, PS5, and Xbox controller and it worked perfectly on all of them.
the design looks clean too simple, a little gamer-y but not too flashy. feels sturdy enough and super lightweight, which i appreciate. i’ve dropped it once (oops) and it didn’t break so that’s a win
honestly, there’s not much bad to say. the sound’s awesome, the fit’s comfy, and it works right outta the box. i’ve had more expensive headsets that didn’t sound this good. i’d easily recommend it to anyone who just wants something reliable and solid for gaming.
if you’re thinking about it, just get it. seriously. i wasn’t expecting to like it this much but now i kinda love it.

I like the overall design of this headset. Definitely looks like a gaming headset, but with a more subtle approach that I would not mind going into a work meeting wearing it. There are a few things to keep in mind. One is that the headset is not foldable at all, taking away portability. The second thing is that the audio cable, while being long and pliable, is not removable. And lastly, the mic is not removable either.
This is a very light and comfortable headset. The adjustable floating band makes all the difference as it lays softly on the top of my head without pressure. The angular pads are super soft, and my ears fit nicely inside. They don’t get hot during heated gaming.
Being wired headphones, so they can be used with basically any device or console with a 3.5mm audio jack. I tried them with all three major consoles directly and thorough the controller’s audio jack and they worked very nicely. On my PC and tablet, I tried them with the included USB-A adapter (no USB-C) and again, they work as intended.
The 50mm drivers deliver quite an impactful and vibrant sound signature. The bass has kick, although there is a little bit of that subwoofer feel missing. The mids are clear and stand out nicely, especially during dialogue, steps, etc. The treble is a bit brighter than I’d like but adds clarity and sparkle. Personally, I enjoyed playing FPS the most with these cans. I would not use them to listen to music exclusively, since they are tuned a bit too bright, but they still work in a pinch.
The uni-directional mic is very, very good. I used them for a couple of days to make work calls and not once did I experience any audio issues. I was heard clearly and didn’t have to raise my voice -even when people were walking and talking around me. I prefer the lift-to-mute function more than a button.
For the asking price, this is an undeniably good deal. Although not very portable, they deliver in comfort, overall functionality, and versatility.

There’s a lot to like about this bare a bones headset. If you want a quality headset, lightweight, with crisp/clear audio, and you don’t mind that it’s wired, this is an easy pick. If you want wireless, or you have a larger than average head size like me, keep scrolling.
For starters, easy to use right out of the box. Plug and play, literally there’s an audio jack plug (also comes with a USB audio adapter). Works great for my PS5 and my PC. My PC need is why I got this headset. I’ve been having serious issues with bluetooth on my dektop, so I wanted a barebones wired set. This is also glasses friendly which is awesome. The only problem I’m personally having is like I said above, the ear muffs are loose on my head, and it's not a snug fit. There’s not much in the way of adjusting the size. The saving grace for this issue to me is that they’re so lightweight and the memory foam on the ear muffs make the loose fit tolerable. I have a large head, most people will probably be fine.
I’ve had some sets that hurt after wearing them for even 15 minutes, not here, these are not painful over time.
The mic is great quality, it flips up and down. Instead of the need to remember where the mute button on the set is, this makes it easy, simply flip the mic up and you’re muted.
I also use it for work on Teams every day. The audio is very high quality, but then again, I’m not picky and not much of an audiophile.
All in all, good set if you want wired, and don’t have a giant noggin on your shoulders.

Simplicity and surprising performance

In videogaming, a good sound is a complement to the visuals of an entertaining game. As an avid gamer, over time, I have accumulated a few gaming headsets from premium wired and wireless headsets all the way down to gaming earbuds. The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 Wired Gaming Headset exudes simplicity and yet delivers solid sound performance.
This gaming headset is the simplest one that I own; no LED multicolored lighting, no flashy appearance. It’s just functional, with a volume dial on the left earcup and it’s wired with a 3.5mm connector. Even the microphone stands out when flipped up. Personally, the lack of sophistication is not a big deal. I mostly care about performance and comfort. Its lightweight and its original floating mesh headband that seamlessly adapts to different head sizes, reduces the stress of wearing it for hours. The thick ear cushions are very comfortable and isolate the outside noise without electronic help. However, I’ve noticed that after marathon gaming sessions, they tend to get my ears a bit hot, but nothing that I can’t handle.
For performance, the Atlas 200 delivers above its ‘light’ weight especially while using the Turtle Beach Swarm II desktop app where you can do some advanced customization of the sound and the microphone. To take advantage of the app, a USB connection is required and the included 3.5mm to USB-A adapter facilitates the task. Setting the equalizer and the other audio features to the right levels and preferences truly make a difference. The 50mm drivers offer clear audio across the audible range and they’re precise at locational surround that enhances the experience with many games. They can play loud without noticeable distortion. The highs and mids are solid and well balanced. The bass is punchy and better than expected. Some games with deep lows that I’ve previously experienced with my high end headsets sounded pretty much the same after tweaking the equalizer. Playing online games, the microphone performed well. The communication was clear according to the players I interacted with. Music reproduction is also great for most genres which reveals a good neutral balance. I watched movies and I was well entertained with the sound performance. Besides my gaming PCs, I tried it with my PS5 and the sound was also great, but not as good as with the PC with the Swarm II app. Connecting it directly through the PS5 controller 3.5mm jack yielded a low volume and I couldn’t make it play loud enough to enjoy it.
For budget conscious gamers who don’t mind a wired headset, the Turtle Beach Atlas 200 is a great choice. The construction is solid with a simple sleek functional design, and it’s light and comfortable to wear for long hours. It’s versatile and can be used with a PC, Xbox and PlayStation. The sound is the highlight of this headset with its rumbling lows and clear highs and mids, and it’s all customizable. The microphone provides clear communication and can also be customized. I highly recommend the Atlas 200 for punching way above its weight.

These are about as simple as they come. I personally prefer wired headphones because there is less opportunity for odd interruptions or digital feedback. However, a lot of technology is getting away from the 3.5mm jack. Good thing that most console controllers still have them and even if your PC doesn’t have one, this comes with a USB-A to 3.5mm dongle so you can use them.
These are really light, pretty comfortable around the ear with deep wells so not to rub even my big ears. The only thing I feel is a bit odd is the hook and loop elastic band is the only size adjustment there is. Each side has a tab that you pull and stretch to the Min/Max that you desire. Unlike others, the main plastic parts of the headset have no adjusting, but it is extremely flexible. There is also no padding at the top of the headset. So, as that band eventually wears down, the hard plastic will rest on your head.
The sound quality is pretty decent, something I would hope to be impressive with a wired headset. However, it felt that the volume levels weren’t as high as I was looking for at first. I did get the Swarm II application and there is an option to “maximize device volume”, in which it will give you a warning. This helped a little bit, but I couldn’t say precisely. Then I realized that there are 2 audio channels so that you can sort game/chat audio on the PC. As soon as I forced it to only use 1 channel, all the volume came in to the point I had to turn it down with the volume knob.
With the Swarm II app and the USB dongle, you also have the ability to turn on their ‘Waves 3D’ audio. Personally, I did not like it. It sounds like it put everything into a cave or large concrete room. I personally prefer using Dolby Atmos and that works just fine with this headset. While in the app, you can also fine tune other audio settings with an EQ or other specific settings, like “Superhuman hearing” for gunshots and footsteps. Really just makes the high sounds stand out.
Overall, this is not a bad headset. It certainly has a budget feel to it, but the sound quality, even of the microphone, makes up for it, especially when you customize it to your liking with the Swarm II software.

Solid wired headset with quality audio

The headset boasts 50mm drivers and they produce big enough sound for an entry-level wired headset. Turtle Beach headsets generally deliver quality audio and solid value.
While build quality is not exceptional, it's comfortable for long gaming sessions and this is something that matters more. The headset feels light enough on my head, and it is comfortable to wear.
The headset seems to be able to withstand normal daily wear and tears although the microphone seems too plasticky to my liking.
Connectivity is superb since it uses both 3.5mm line input and USB connection. I connected the headset to my third-party PS 5 pro controller through line input and it worked well. USB connection to PC also works well out of the box. I played Helldivers 2 and my teammates can hear me fine. The microphone flip to mute function, however, is a bit of hit and miss.
This is a solid wired headset that can connect to multiple platforms including Playstation systems.
Pros:
Good audio quality
Comfortable to wear
Cons:
Flip to mute is a hit and miss in a certain PC game
Microphone build quality is too plasticky

This review is for the Turtle Beach atlas 200 headset with mic. These are wired and have a 3.5mm connection, but also came with an usb audio adapter. So you can use them either way. At first glance I wasn't too sure about the adjustable floating headband design. But now that I'm 20+ hours into wearing these it works great and they are very comfortable. The earpieces have a memory foam ear cushion that just feels very lite pressure on you. I have no issues using these for hours on end. Even if you wear glasses these are still very comfortable. They also have a flip to mute microphone setup. A must have for me. Makes it easy for me to talk to others around me, and not have the people in my party hear. They also have a volume control knob on the left hand side. Which is super convenient and easy to use.The sound quality has been great for my first person shooter games I've been playing. You can easily tell when an enemy is approaching and from what side. I have only been using these for gaming. And for that they have been a good set of headphones. All in all I have been very happy with these.

Good headset, with great features for the price. The headphones themselves are comfy and the padding is made of fabric and its the best part of them, they are super comfy and I sometimes wear glasses and they were good with them. They can be adjusted by just releasing the Velcro straps on the headband, simple as that. The biggest CON I found out is the cable is not removable, so you got to be careful, if you break or it frays, you are done, there is no replacing it.
This model comes with a USB/DAC sound card, however since the headphones use a cable with a TRRS combo jack they can be used without the DAC with any device that takes a combo TRRS conector. If you use the USB sound card on a PC, you can install their Swarm 2 software that will give you more features. It will also install an audio driver that will give you access to all the features (including their 3D audio). The software also includes the ability to mix game and chat volume (unfortunately only via their software, there is not dedicated button or wheel for this on the headphones themselves, the headphones only have an analog volume wheel). The software is really good and has also EQ, their "superhuman hearing" feature that supposedly will give you an advantage on competitive games, also they give you their Waves 3D audio (I tried it and its pretty good and immersive for story driven games). You can also adjust mic monitoring (sidetone) where you can hear your own voice when you talk (again, only on the software, no button on the headset). The mic is very flexible and you can flip it up to mute it quickly.
Sound is pretty good and sounded clear and not bloated, the great thing about their software is you can either use one of their EQ presets or you can customize and create your own EQ so this is great. Really liking them but the biggest win, at least for me is the comfort, specially with glasses!

Lightweight and Comfortable with Quality Sound

I have not had a wired headset in such a long time that I forgot how much they simplify life. The Atlas 200 is extremely simple yet provides quality sound, comfort, and noise cancelation without the need to worry about charging or pairing to different devices.
*What’s Included*
The headset comes with a 6.6ft long cable and an USB-A to aux adapter. It is also compatible with the Swarm II app to customize EQ when connected using the USB-A adapter.
*Headset Construction and Feel*
The headphones are incredibly lightweight, made with hard shell plastic and a rubbery bendable mic. The headband is wrapped in mesh with an elastic strap traversing the middle. This, along with gaps on the side, make this headset highly breathable and helps keep my head from getting sweaty after wearing it a while, which is almost always an issue with all headsets and headphones I have. The headband can be made smaller or bigger by tightening/loosening the elastic the runs across the top using Velcro pads on both sides, a unique method I have not come across before. The large earcups are deeply padded with memory foam and covered in a very soft fabric. They are marketed as “glasses friendly” and, as a glasses wearer, I say thank you to Turtle Beach for delivery on that promise. They are all-over just amazingly comfortable and everyone in my family has mentioned how great they feel as soon as they put them on.
*Sound Quality*
These headphones produce great sound and clarity. The headset construction itself provides some noise cancelation, so it is easy to get immersed in the game with these. They contain the full range 20Hz-20kHz with hi-fi sound that does not muddle sound. Isolated spatial footsteps are easy to hear even with all of other sounds intermingling in the background.
*Mic*
The mic picks up voice crystal clear. It does not seem to filter background noises well though. Everything is audible, tapping, clicking, my kid playing, the stove fan in the kitchen, everything. That said, the mic’s flip to mute works perfectly and its malleability allows for easy distance customization.
*Conclusion*
All things considered, I think this is a solid, budget-friendly headset. It has great sound quality and voice pickup, high comfort and breathability, and no need to charge. While it doesn’t come with too many bells and whistles, it definitely stands its ground on delivering the basic necessities with quality akin to its pricier competitors.

The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 are useful and versatile for gaming while either being on a PlayStation, Xbox or PC, they work great.
Right out of the box, the headset looks attractive, they come with an adapter from USB A to 3.5mm and instructions.
They do have a good feel to them and since they have very nice padding, they are comfortable and work well for extended periods of time.
When it comes to its sound, they do a great job, they are clear yet deliver a nice base and everything in between. I can hear the details in different scenarios, and I did not expect it to be as good as thet are. And the microphone also does a good job; it does sound nice and clear, there is no need to charge or recharge, just plug and play, and if you don't have a 3.5 mm jack, but you do have access to an usb, you have the adapter to use. The microphone has 3 positions, le in use and you can lift it half way and all the way when not in use.
I think this headset is a perfect gift for gamers, good sound, and microphone and easy to use.
They also can be adjusted with the velcro that is on both sides.

Comfy, light, good sound, one major drawback

The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 wired headphones are a solid choice while not breaking the bank. As a fan of Turtle Beach products for years, these headphones deliver mostly good for the price point.
For starters, these are very lightweight and comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The mesh adjustable crown support takes some of the pressure off of the top of your head and that is a big deal if you play games or listen to music with these for extended periods of time. Being that they are already pretty lightweight, the mesh support makes them even more comfortable.
The sound quality with the 50mm drivers is crystal clear with all frequencies present. I am comfortable both using these for gaming and casual music listening. While it is unclear what Ohms the drivers are, I can happily report that they get loud enough to cause tinnitus, but I don’t recommend getting tinnitus. You can easily have the volume all the way up with no driver distortion. While I know these are marketed as gaming headphones, I am currently listening to Mammoth WVH and it sounds massive. No need to mention that Wolfgang knows what he is doing both playing and mixing music, but I wanted to mention that anyway. Fat, thick, huge sounding riffs, and mastering. Back to gaming! These headphones sound equally awesome while playing games on console, or PC. Sound effects are clear and precise, dialogue is also clear and easy to understand. There are plenty of highs and lows in the flat position, but you can also set your own custom EQ profiles with the Swarm II software if you choose to do so. As far as unlocking higher fidelity and 3D audio with the optional Swarm II software, I have not been able to get it to work properly, yet. Which leads me to my drawbacks…
There are two glaring drawbacks for me. The first would be the Swarm II software. It is great for updating firmware, which I did successfully on the first try. However, when I plug the headphones in using the USB adapter that is included, the Swarm II home screen is stuck pinwheeling on “Preparing…” in the upper right corner (see screenshot). This happens even after a fresh computer restart. While in the Swarm II settings, I can see that the firmware is up to date, so I know the software can see that the headphones are connected. This is strange behavior that I am hoping will be fixed as an update.
The second drawback would be that the cable is hard-wired into the headphones. It doesn’t matter what price range headphones are sold at, all of them should have a replaceable plug-in 3.5mm cable. Most headphones eventually fail at the point where the cable is hard wired into the headphones, therefore I think this should be a standard feature. Not to mention it is much easier to unplug and roll the cable up separately when transporting, instead of going the old fashioned route and winding the cable around the headphones when not in use, which is exactly why the cable usually ends up failing.

I really like these head phones. It has great sound. I have only one complaint that they fit tight and I have a small head. Thats the reason I gave four stars. The sound is amazing and super crisp.
