Ok so i gotta say, this Turtle Beach Atlas 200 headset legit surprised me. Wasn’t expecting much tbh but wow, it’s actually really really good. like, for the price it punches way above its weight. first thing i noticed was the comfort omg it’s nice. super light, soft ear cushions, and it doesn’t crush my glasses or give me that weird head squeeze. i’ve done full gaming marathons (like 8+ hrs) and my ears didn’t get hot or sore at all. feels like it just disappears after a while which is perfect for long sessions. the sound quality tho?? fire. i play a lot of COD, Apex, and some story games, and the audio is clear as heck. i can literally hear footsteps behind me, tiny reload sounds, even wind blowing in the background lol. it’s got that crisp detail but still a good amount of bass so explosions sound nice and deep without being muddy. easily one of the best sounding headsets i’ve used under $100. mic’s super clear too. my friends say i sound clean with no static or weird background noise. the flip-to-mute mic is genius just push it up when you don’t wanna talk and boom, muted. no buttons to mess with. i also love that it’s wired. yeah, i know some people like wireless, but i’m tired of charging stuff all the time. this thing just plugs in and works, zero lag, no dropouts, no “battery low” warnings in the middle of a match. i’ve used it on my PC, PS5, and Xbox controller and it worked perfectly on all of them. the design looks clean too simple, a little gamer-y but not too flashy. feels sturdy enough and super lightweight, which i appreciate. i’ve dropped it once (oops) and it didn’t break so that’s a win honestly, there’s not much bad to say. the sound’s awesome, the fit’s comfy, and it works right outta the box. i’ve had more expensive headsets that didn’t sound this good. i’d easily recommend it to anyone who just wants something reliable and solid for gaming. if you’re thinking about it, just get it. seriously. i wasn’t expecting to like it this much but now i kinda love it.

In videogaming, a good sound is a complement to the visuals of an entertaining game. As an avid gamer, over time, I have accumulated a few gaming headsets from premium wired and wireless headsets all the way down to gaming earbuds. The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 Wired Gaming Headset exudes simplicity and yet delivers solid sound performance. This gaming headset is the simplest one that I own; no LED multicolored lighting, no flashy appearance. It’s just functional, with a volume dial on the left earcup and it’s wired with a 3.5mm connector. Even the microphone stands out when flipped up. Personally, the lack of sophistication is not a big deal. I mostly care about performance and comfort. Its lightweight and its original floating mesh headband that seamlessly adapts to different head sizes, reduces the stress of wearing it for hours. The thick ear cushions are very comfortable and isolate the outside noise without electronic help. However, I’ve noticed that after marathon gaming sessions, they tend to get my ears a bit hot, but nothing that I can’t handle. For performance, the Atlas 200 delivers above its ‘light’ weight especially while using the Turtle Beach Swarm II desktop app where you can do some advanced customization of the sound and the microphone. To take advantage of the app, a USB connection is required and the included 3.5mm to USB-A adapter facilitates the task. Setting the equalizer and the other audio features to the right levels and preferences truly make a difference. The 50mm drivers offer clear audio across the audible range and they’re precise at locational surround that enhances the experience with many games. They can play loud without noticeable distortion. The highs and mids are solid and well balanced. The bass is punchy and better than expected. Some games with deep lows that I’ve previously experienced with my high end headsets sounded pretty much the same after tweaking the equalizer. Playing online games, the microphone performed well. The communication was clear according to the players I interacted with. Music reproduction is also great for most genres which reveals a good neutral balance. I watched movies and I was well entertained with the sound performance. Besides my gaming PCs, I tried it with my PS5 and the sound was also great, but not as good as with the PC with the Swarm II app. Connecting it directly through the PS5 controller 3.5mm jack yielded a low volume and I couldn’t make it play loud enough to enjoy it. For budget conscious gamers who don’t mind a wired headset, the Turtle Beach Atlas 200 is a great choice. The construction is solid with a simple sleek functional design, and it’s light and comfortable to wear for long hours. It’s versatile and can be used with a PC, Xbox and PlayStation. The sound is the highlight of this headset with its rumbling lows and clear highs and mids, and it’s all customizable. The microphone provides clear communication and can also be customized. I highly recommend the Atlas 200 for punching way above its weight.

I like the overall design of this headset. Definitely looks like a gaming headset, but with a more subtle approach that I would not mind going into a work meeting wearing it. There are a few things to keep in mind. One is that the headset is not foldable at all, taking away portability. The second thing is that the audio cable, while being long and pliable, is not removable. And lastly, the mic is not removable either. This is a very light and comfortable headset. The adjustable floating band makes all the difference as it lays softly on the top of my head without pressure. The angular pads are super soft, and my ears fit nicely inside. They don’t get hot during heated gaming. Being wired headphones, so they can be used with basically any device or console with a 3.5mm audio jack. I tried them with all three major consoles directly and thorough the controller’s audio jack and they worked very nicely. On my PC and tablet, I tried them with the included USB-A adapter (no USB-C) and again, they work as intended. The 50mm drivers deliver quite an impactful and vibrant sound signature. The bass has kick, although there is a little bit of that subwoofer feel missing. The mids are clear and stand out nicely, especially during dialogue, steps, etc. The treble is a bit brighter than I’d like but adds clarity and sparkle. Personally, I enjoyed playing FPS the most with these cans. I would not use them to listen to music exclusively, since they are tuned a bit too bright, but they still work in a pinch. The uni-directional mic is very, very good. I used them for a couple of days to make work calls and not once did I experience any audio issues. I was heard clearly and didn’t have to raise my voice -even when people were walking and talking around me. I prefer the lift-to-mute function more than a button. For the asking price, this is an undeniably good deal. Although not very portable, they deliver in comfort, overall functionality, and versatility.
